121  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1500 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: October 23, 2015, 03:43:04 AM
I have 14 Bitmain s-5 and i have approx 5 that lockup almost daily, and require a power cycle to get them back on line.  And a couple of then run at half there hash rate.

Does any one have any ideas,  it makes not different what version of firmware to include the nicehase version there still doing the same thing. I have 8 to 10 that run rock solid like my s-3 do.

I am out of ideas and am wondering if anyone else has this issue.

Thanks

I was told by Bitmain support non of the Bitmain S Series are designed to work with P2P due the the work reset process of P2P.  My s-3 work perfectly, my s-4 has had no issues but these darn s-5 all get stupid from time to time to the point i had to replace the pdu in my cab in the data center to remote resetable PDU and a great expense and a trip to the data center.

I might try and go back to the old firmware and a cgminer upgrade to see if that helps.

I like running my own node and I like the thought of P2P, but haveing to reboot hardware every day is getting old.

Man the variance is killing this pool.  But it seems to be everywhere.

Is any one having issues with S-5 on P2P locking up and becoming non responsive.  I have numerous ones that seem to be doing this.  I am running CG ver 4.8  can any one running S-5 charm in and give me some of your thoughts. I am running the April 2015 firmware.

Thanks Huh

I don't know why people attack kano, ck or forestv or anyone else for that matter. They put out allot for the community and you guys should have more respect to dev's that put out open source and I'm not just talking about his pool. Unless your asking a relevant question or imputing relevant info to benefit the topic your causing more harm than good to the cause. Please refrain from calling out people for the whole communities sake.

I could not agree more.  Kano , ck , forest and many others go above and beyond, i for one have the greatest respect for them.

I'd much rather see the code - if possible. By not submitting stale shares, this firmware shouldn't be used with p2pool - you're losing potential blocks. This was fixed with kano's binary here:

http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/antminer/s5/

Unfortunately, it is not persistent through reboots Sad

You can trust Ck and Kano firmware they write most of the cgminer releases any way.  There great

I suspect my node url is due to i sent the node info to the moderator of the list before i set the domain name to the IP.  I registered the name 4 - 6 weeks after the node was up.

Sounds like a possible orphaned in P2P but the block chain showed it matured.  Have seen this before.

The node is listed by the ip 207.105.189.40 not the url for some reason.

Wow my node is ranking 6th  http://nodes.p2pool.co

No fees Fast server and Fiber-optic connection with little latency, so any one want a good and fast node in northern ca, your welcome.

node url:  p2p.interminer.us:9332

any questions is welcome to message me.

Cool thanks

Kano

Have you updated the pool bitcoind to version 10 as of yet?

Just curious.

I just did the same thing, I was getting a error on the p2p stats about bitcoind was out of date so I just finished and all seems ok so far.

And we just found a block.

Is there any way to find out how many people are solo mining on this server.

Very courious

Looks like 5 S1 just made there $$$ for a very long time.

Good for the owner....

Might move my 7 s3 here and 2 s1 just to see how they do for a month or 2.one never knows.

Question.  I know on the P2P forms they recommend that we set the cgminer options to = queue= 0 or 1 what or recommended for the solo pool for best performance.

Thanks

All my s5 are now hashing at 230 what up with the pool

CK Thanks for the info.  You and Knao are doing a great job and every user of this pool owes you a boat load of gratitude.

I just wanted to make sure you get good info and that you know what is going on.

I have been in the IT world for almost 30 years now and I to chase ghost all day.  Just part of the job.

Thanks for every thing you do and all the programming that you have done.
