121  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: BitPay must be one of the worst wallets out there! on: November 17, 2019, 06:51:09 AM
Most sites require BitPay for the payments, but if people have to go through all this sh1t to setup a wallet, I do understand why they just give up on
You don't have to use the Bitpay wallet to be able to make Bitpay payments... they have tried to obfuscate things with forcing the BIP70 payment protocol... but you have the option of using other BIP70 compatible wallets as mentioned above... or you can use this decoder: https://decoder.bip70.org/

In amongst a bunch of other data, it'll show you the address and amounts etc and you can just make the payment manually... just like the good ol' days before Bitpay tried to force BIP70 on everyone.

And not to mention it takes ages to download and install though the Microsoft app manager (not sure about others but it took a long time for me).
Probably related to this:

Shocked Shocked Shocked

You can make the payment directly to that address, but their internal ledger system generates some kind of code or invoice that gives you proof

that you made the payment and it also validates your payment and then activate your subscription after you did the payment via their service.

So how do you make that direct payment and then trigger the whole validation thing to activate your subscription or have proof that the payment

was done? (I think most of them use this system, because it leaves a paper trail for auditing and tax purposes)  Roll Eyes

Even if this was a legit transaction, I would never do this. The Chinese are famous for not extraditing criminals to other countries, when they commit

crimes against people in other countries. So, let's say this starts out as a legit business (believe me it is not) and it goes on for a while, then it

suddenly goes scam (long con) ..then you will have no chance of getting your money back. Some people say the Chinese law enforcement do not

even frown on their own citizens "cheating" westerners out of their hard earned money.  Roll Eyes
123  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: BitPay must be one of the worst wallets out there! on: November 16, 2019, 08:19:48 PM
Sites should just post a Bitcoin address and then you deposit bitcoin into that address with a small message showing who you are on their service.

So let's say you subscribe for something, then you just create the account, say account name -- WhomBat and then send the bitcoins and then

mention your account name in the transfer. They can then verify your payment against the account name and be done with it. Nobody will know

anything about you and you can just use another address for the next payment.  Angry
124  Bitcoin / Wallet software / BitPay must be one of the worst wallets out there! on: November 16, 2019, 08:11:07 PM
Today a friend of mine asked me to help him install Bitpay on his Windows computer. I thought it would be a breeze, but it was a sh1t show. You

are forced to create a Microsoft account and then when you want to download the App the real sh1t starts.  Angry  He has Windows 7 installed on his

computer and guess what, BitPay requires --> http://prntscr.com/pxwn63 (minimum requirement of Windows 10 version 14316.0 or higher)

Most sites require BitPay for the payments, but if people have to go through all this sh1t to setup a wallet, I do understand why they just give up on

Bitcoin and just use credit cards and PayPal. I would much rather pull a tooth without anesthetics.. than having to go through that again. BitPay

was designed to strip you of all your anonymity.  Angry Angry Angry Angry

I watched the video and I think there are too many steps to follow to get to the payment option. Why do you have to weigh the item? (explain that

please?) Also, if you have to choose between walking into a shop and taking an item and then using cash to pay for it or going to a shop, and pulling

out your phone and scanning the QR code and then firing up a wallet and weighing the goods and then scanning a QR code again and then putting

in a password to pay for the item, what would you prefer? People are lazy and always in a hurry, so just imagine what they will choose if they had to

decide between the two options? (Or simply using a credit card or debit card)  Roll Eyes
126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Snicker - New Privacy for Bitcoin transactions on: November 16, 2019, 07:52:41 AM
Would SNICKER (Simple Non-Interactive Coinjoin with Keys for Encryption Reused) render all other Mixer services useless? Why would you pay to

get more privacy, if you can get it for free? Why trust an anonymous third party, like Mixer services if this can just be a add-on function of the

core software? The one weak point of this proposal might be the centralized bulletin board, because the Blockchain spies will just focus on that. I

am all for a Bip that would make transactions more anonymous, but then it has to be decentralized and bulletproof.  Wink
127  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you think Gavin Andresen will make a comeback? on: November 16, 2019, 07:35:53 AM
i figure he's been keeping a low profile because "time heals all wounds". at some point, he will probably resurface and engage in some kind of underhanded campaign like bitcoin XT or bitcoin classic again.
and joined Mike Hearn and they tried to do a hostile takeover with BitcoinXT and that failed miserably.

underhanded?Huh
hostile take over?Huh
you really are drinking the core coolaid

gavins XT was not a client doing node ban and implementation of new rules.
gavins XT was not a client doing mandated consensus bypass
gavins XT was not a client doing anything that would disrupt the community in any controversial way.

it was using real consensus. and yes his options didnt sway favour by the core fangirls and so consensus was not reached thus nothing changed.. meaning nothing underhanded or harmful occured
basically it didnt get the vote so he didnt push.. and thats how consensus should be.

however core did do underhanded stuff. they didnt get thier segwit november 2016+ vote. so the pushed they mandated they fear campaigned they banned nodes they bypassed proper consensus to get thier segwit aug2017 activated
its why the network has become too reliant on core. and how core is actually a central point of the network now.

but hey 'all hail core' and look how people who even dare criticise core are treated.
in a fair open community if you cant criticise a leader, if the leader has no opposition, where if there were any theyd be banned/ censored, its no longer a network solving the byzantine generals problem but become a dictatorship

so if you fear criticsising core and you instead want to give them loyalty and favour them as the sole controller. then you have accepted centralisation

atleast try to actually check and research facts, and not follow the scripts of core fangirls on reddit/twitter
there is plenty of block data, plenty of code. plenty of actual facts that show that XT wouldnt have caused harm by being controversial. yet same data and facts of blockdata and nod stats and code that show that core was controversial.

but i know your just going to continue to believe the core fangirls version of events, like what most slave/loyalists to dictators do

Hey, so you are are Gavin supporter and a Core hater and I do not blame you for that. Some people have issues with the Core guys and they go

on with their lives, but you obviously have deep seated issues with them (based on your post history and constant negative finger pointing at

them)  Roll Eyes

I on the other hand believe that the BitcoinXT thing was a blemish on the whole Bitcoin community, because a lot of underhanded things took

place back then that could simply be classified as childish. (This happened from both sides)  I do not want to go into a long debate over who is

right and who is wrong, because I know you will never budge and I will also not bend the knee (so it will just be wasting time)

Let's just leave this there and you believe what you want and I will continue to be the Core fangirl if that makes you feel better. (calling people

names)  Roll Eyes
128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ~80 MB transactions with 1 s/b fee were just injected into the mempool on: November 16, 2019, 07:21:35 AM
I think we should see the positive side to this whole event, whoever did this does not matter, what matter is that it was done and that it did not

"crash" the network like we had with the spam wars during the Bitcoin (BTC) vs BitcoinXT period.  Wink  It was said that SegWit would make sustained

attacks like this very expensive and not viable for long periods and I think this event validated those claims. OP, thank you for posting this, because

it would just have gone unnoticed and it is actually very important to show that SegWit is doing what it was supposed to do.  Wink
129  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you think Gavin Andresen will make a comeback? on: November 16, 2019, 06:58:51 AM
Gavin Andresen has shown time and time again that he is not capable to lead such an experiment. When he gave up his role as lead developer, he

admitted that the task was to difficult for him (being responsible for Billions of Dollars invested in this technology, is very stressful) He then went

and joined Mike Hearn and they tried to do a hostile takeover with BitcoinXT and that failed miserably. Then the thing with Craig Wright (FakeToshi)

happened and that tainted his reputation to such a degree that nobody would trust his judgement to run such an important project. Just imagine

what would have happened if Craig Wright and Gavin took control of this experiment. (You would have paid royalties to Craig Wright to use the

Blockchain)  Angry Shocked Shocked
130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin = Truth on: November 16, 2019, 06:48:02 AM
And truth is going to be the authority for this coming age where we the people demand accountability and honesty from our governments and politics.

So IMHO Bitcoin is going to the immutable truth which hold the age of information and accountability together...

Buy the dip!

Cheers

We can demand all we want, but until these governments are influenced not to govern their countries with guns and bullets, then nothing will

change. The Blockchain can be a perfect tool to grant the public the access to information that they should have had in the first place, but are

denied to them, because corrupt government officials are hiding it behind red tape. Access to public information is a right, not a privilege. Use your

vote to get people into power that would implement Blockchain technology for accountability and transparency.
131  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 💜 BTC - ETH - LTC - TRX — Plant your Loyalty points this November on: November 15, 2019, 09:08:08 PM
The teamtrees.org is a good initiative but I hope these people are planting the correct trees. Trees take up a lot of water, so the location for these

trees must be chosen correctly for it not to put too much pressure on the water supply. I watched the MrBeast tree planting video and it did not

look like it was properly planned. The whole idea started with the fires in the Amazon and the fud that was spread about the Amazon supplying 60%

of all the global oxygen supply. I would have rather supported some clean "water" initiative, because a lot of countries are struggling with a lack of

clean water now.  Roll Eyes
132  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BITCOIN GAME APP on: November 15, 2019, 08:54:12 PM
Hello Guys I want to develop a BITCOIN GAME APP in which if  a User click on the Bet type(either up Bet or Down Bet) the application should First Access to see if there is enough User Balance, and if there is enough Balance, the application should add all users Bitcoin placed for  the Game .  But if there is not enough Balance, the application should say not enough bitcoin please make deposit

The APP should not access the users Bitcoin wallet. You create a internal database that would track people's deposits onto your gaming platform

and then it would report that there are not enough bitcoin, when that database shows that the users balance is depleted. People will never give a

3rd party access to their Bitcoin wallet for obvious reasons, but they will give you access to their account balance, if they do not control the

software.

Good luck with your game.  Wink
133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We should answer the important questions to increase Bitcoin adoption on: November 15, 2019, 08:45:23 PM
When anyone, even unfamiliar with crypto, will be able to use them for purchases, then the adoption will happen much faster.

How familiar does it have to be to use money? It only took a few hours for most kids to learn what money is and how to spend it. Yes, there are

some initial steps that you have to follow to get started, but wallet providers has made this so simple, a 5 year old will be able to do it. I know a

lot of young kids that install Apps & games on their phones, so setting up a wallet should be a breeze for them. As time goes by, Crypto will become

easier and easier to use.  Wink
134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks do not control my bitcoins - Zimbabwe News! on: November 15, 2019, 08:39:42 PM
This is just a temporary problem and if I am correct, they are not printing their own currency. Many first world countries print their own currencies,

so they never run out of fiat currencies. Even if their currency are printed by another country, they should have known how much fiat currencies

should have been printed to meet the demand. They have had fiat currencies for years, prior to this crisis and they even printed too much to cause

hyper inflation in the past.  Roll Eyes
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One solid reason that I came across for the need of BitCoins. <Be Your own Bank> on: November 15, 2019, 08:33:43 PM
Sad but we can't do anything about it. That's the reality. Because if they're not going to charge us, banks will have no profits. When they secure our money, they'll charge us for it. Anything the bank will do for their customers have an equal amount of charges. I know it's our money but they need income as well. Though sometimes I really think that they're taking too much advantage from their customers. That's why if we don't like banks to be involved with our money, bitcoin is here to help us with what we want.

I do not know what country you are from, how does it work in India is, Banks give you interest rates of 4% annually, but if someone wants to take loans from them, they charge 10 - 12% annual interest. So they are easily making, 6-8% and even if there operational cost exists, banks are easily making a lot of money that too by saying they are securing money.

Also there is one more thing that I want to mention you, banks are highly in- secure and in the recent past in India there has been three big scams, one of Yes Bank, another of PMC Bank, and another of a bank, who got scammed by a fraudster called neeraj modi, a diamond merchant who took away 800 Cr, and flew to EU.

Also Banks have employees working for it and employees can be bribed, corrupted and/or forced to work with criminals to steal your money. I once

heard a story where 1 Bank employee managed to take 1 cent from 100 000's of Bank accounts on a daily basis and stole millions of dollars over a

period of a decade, before he was caught. <He got caught, when 1 customer queried the 1 cent that was deducted from her Bank account>

When you are your own Bank, nobody can withdraw bitcoins from your Bitcoin address without your private keys.  Wink

To be honest, this has nothing to do at all with the bitcoin adaption, these questions you have mentioned are answerable via google and bitcoin mass adaption is dependent on the majority of the world's population, and Government will be the key to all of that, but the bitcoin mass adaption seems to be a bit imposible to happen in the next following years because Governments are leading people to misunderstanding about cryptocurrency by feeding them false information about it.

+1 for your signature campaign earnings.   Angry  It is sad to see that people simply read the reply of previous posters and then just put a little

twist on it to make it their own. No creativity or even constructive contribution to the thread at all, just pushing out the spam as usual and then

getting paid for it.  Roll Eyes  Also, try using a spell checker -- "AdaptionRoll Eyes Roll Eyes  ...it is called adoption.  Shocked .... This probably took you 14 seconds

to post this garbage in my thread.
137  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gamblr - Play the most exciting online casino games for FUN and PROFIT! on: November 13, 2019, 03:50:11 PM
I think you are over complicating things with the "login with wallet" option. You also do not accept bitcoin and that is a major drawback for your

new customers. It is as if this site was specifically designed to create a use case for the Alt coins that are listed here and not to be a entertaining

casino that wants to make a profit.  Roll Eyes  You are missing the biggest target market out there by ignoring the most popular Crypto currency out

there. (Bitcoin BTC)  Roll Eyes  Also, linking wallets with this site, links people to their coins. A simple registration with a wallet address would be so much

better.

Do you think these are the major issues due to which bitcoin adoption is not growing? Then start rethinking! You didn't ask about the most important question!

Bitcoin's adoption majorly depends on its legitimacy. If you go to Japan, you will see bitcoin is being accepted almost everywhere! Even an employee can take salaries in bitcoin! Now if you visit India, you will hardly see anyone talking about bitcoin because it's still not legal there! Do you think those above questions even stand valid here?

It's the regulation and legitimacy of bitcoin that slumps the growth of bitcoin adoption! Technical things will obviously be there but can be addressed later!

Unfortunately Bitcoin cannot solve that problem, but it can bypass certain restrictions that are put in place by these corrupt governments. Let's

take one example : Your government does not allow you to take out more than say $100 000 out of your country (also called capital controls)

You have say $1 000 000 and you need to quickly exit the country because of a civil war or some external threat. Well, this is where the

borderless and unstoppable nature of Bitcoin comes to the rescue. Convert your wealth into Bitcoin and move it to a paper wallet and leave the

country with that piece of paper with a bunch of numbers on it. (Nobody will even know what it is, if you scramble the numbers or even better,

send it to a friend in another country) - Problem solved.  Wink
139  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is Preparing For the Bull Run After the 4% Surge on: November 13, 2019, 02:55:16 PM
I see it differently. The latest price trend seems to be a long period of almost zero volatility and then a sharp drop in the price. After the sharp drop

in the price it will recover slowly over a period of a couple of weeks and then it goes back to the long period without volatility. This trend seems to

repeat it self over time and you can almost predict when the next phase will start. I am not saying that it will go on like this forever, because Bitcoin

throws a spanner in the works when you least expect it.  Roll Eyes
140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / We should answer the important questions to increase Bitcoin adoption on: November 13, 2019, 02:46:40 PM
As an entrepreneur I always look for the challenges when I want to think about something new that would change the normal way that people are

doing things. This mindset has never changed and I am always looking for easier and more user-friendly ways of doing things. Back in the day I did

most of the boring work with complicated Dos batch files or scripts to get things done quicker. So how do we apply that mindset to Bitcoin?

The answer is simple >>> "Look for the problems in the other payment systems and solve that with Bitcoin"

~~ Is Bitcoin more convenient to use?
~~ Is Bitcoin cheaper to use and where will that solve problems?
~~ Is Bitcoin safer to use than traditional payment options? Where will it be safer to use?
~~ Is Bitcoin easy to use (How can we make it easier to use?)
~~ Is Bitcoin faster than other payment options? (Where can we apply it to solve problems with other slow payment options?)
~~ Are we using Bitcoin for the correct applications? (Trading or Currency) What should we focus on?

These are just some of the questions that we need to ask to get to a better solution for the problems with the other payment options. Can you

think of any problems and challenges that Bitcoin can solve now and how do we use Bitcoin to solve these problems now?
