121  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Promotion of cryptoprojects in Russian on: April 21, 2024, 07:02:34 PM
Ladies and gentlemen, respected members of the crypto community and forum users, my name is Vlad and I'm looking for interesting projects to localize and promote among the Russian speaking community.
When I read only this, I as well just like others who have written recommend that the post be taken to Russian local board and probably written in Russia language. But when I read further I discovered that the topic rather fits in service board and maybe with a translation in Russia board, vice versa. The Op is looking for probably non Russian speaking people who wants to promote their projects in Russia. Writing only in Russian board and in Russian language might not do the job for him.
122  Other / Meta / Re: Introducing scammers to the forum. on: April 21, 2024, 06:49:54 PM
Op, here is an open forum, anyone can choose to be anything. A user could have an account for business and services and as well have another account for scamming. No one actually knows who is behind the screen. About scammers, I am no longer afraid of them since I discovered this forum. This forum will make you to be smart, and smarter than scammers. So, it will sound odd that someone is a member of this forum and still fall for cheap scams.

I know some scammers are intelligent people
I don't think they are intelligent. An intelligent person will never live a life of a scammer. He will find a way to bring bread and butter in a legitimate way so that the business can sustain for longer term and make a positive impact for him and his family.
Maybe we can say that scammers are negatively intelligent or they are just lazy intelligent guys who could not harness their potentials but resorted to scamming.
123  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tracking inside of CEXs on: April 19, 2024, 10:24:38 AM
If I may ask, what do you gain sitting for hours tracking wallets?
He said it's his hobby. So, he doesn't need to gain anything doing it. Deriving joy from it alone is enough. I'm not sure people gain something from doing hobbies.

If you want to know what happens in the blockchain, you can check it yourself. The blockchain is transparent. Transactions are publicly available. You'd know which address sent how much to which address. But if you want to know what happens inside a centralized business, that isn't for everybody to know. That's a private company, after all. Centralized exchanges are private companies. Their data aren't open for everybody. Transactions take place within their boundaries. You can't get there without their authorization.
Centralized exchanges are purely centralized as the name implies.. Just like the mixers, you will not be able to trace what happens inside if you are not granted access to the data.
124  Other / Meta / Re: Why is merit not common on trading discussion board on: April 19, 2024, 09:14:14 AM
I have noticed that someone will ask question on trading discussion, you will give answer but your post will not be given any merit. Sometimes like 1 out of 20 or 30 or more, you will only be given just 1 merit. If it is technical board, any useful answer will be bombarded with merits.

Is there no partiality in merit giving and receiving?
Invariably, your question could be asked as thus; why is merits not common in other boards apart from the technical board. Also, it could be asked why every answer in technical board will receive merit but not applicable to other boards.

When I was new in the forum, I was told that every board has their respective merit sources. This means trading board and as well as other boards have their merit sources and these sources have forgotten where they were allocated, they should be reminded to pay much emphasis on their allocated boards.
125  Other / Meta / Re: Why seeing merit button on my post when I can not merit my own post on: April 16, 2024, 10:32:13 PM
When I go through a post of other members, I will see the link to a merit page which can be used to merit the particular post that you have just read. If it is my own post, I can not merit it. Then why should merit link to give merit to a post be seen on my own post when I can not merit myself. I think something should be done for us not to see the merit link on our own posts. Only other people's posts should the merit link be seen.
Could this also be likened to a question as "why allow me see and click a locked thread if I cannot post in it?". I think we should just disregard things that do not seriously pose a problem to anyone in the forum. Let's keep going hoping that someday a new forum software might emerge.
126  Other / Meta / Re: Reply without bumping? on: April 16, 2024, 08:35:12 PM
Is it possible to reply to a topic without bumping it? I think this would be a very useful way to warn others of scammers, trolls and suspicious posts without bumping the thread to the top where more people can see.
This would be a very nice feature. When I was new to the forum, I would read old threads but if I want to reply, I would be advised to start a new topic because no one posted on the thread I want to reply for the past 120 days. I then thought about how to still reply to the thread but not bump it. It could be that I'll mention names of users I know will answer me in that thread and if they use telegram notifier they will read.

Post, delete your post, then post again. That way you don't add "bumping power" to the topic.
(This only works on boards with a "bump" button)
Even when you think it doesn't exist, LoyceV knows how to go about it.
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin halving, historical price surges to follow? on: April 16, 2024, 02:35:33 PM
What’s really crazy is that we saw bitcoin reach a new ath even before the actual halving take place which from what I know has never happened before.

So if bitcoin is reaching new records then who is to say what can happen post halving? We are definitely in for a good time Grin we just need to acquire as much bitcoin possible and never let fud get into our way of holding.
The ability of bitcoin to reach a new ATH even before halving is where my confusion lies. What does it actually mean?
Doesn't it mean that bitcoin has used part of the potentials it needed to surge to make a new ATH even before halving? Which means bull run might not be remarkable.
Or
It means that attaining a new ATH before halving has brought the price up to enable the bull run become massive?

I think the later should be the case and not the former.
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Israel vs Iran - Will this limit the coming bull run? on: April 16, 2024, 01:49:58 PM
We already have a precedent of what could happen when a war breaks out as what we've witnessed in the Russia - Ukraine. BTC was on the way to recovery if I remember correctly but it fell down sharply when the war broke out.

The market seems to be holding the line after Iran joined but I don't think we've seen the full extent of the regional conflict yet. The worst case scenario is other Islamic countries joining to fight Israel and its Western allies.

Irrespective of the timing of any war (during the bear or bull market), I think that bitcoin price has a way of directly responding to the happening in the economy.  If the Israel and Iran war increases tempo for a long time, it will affect the bull run. Maybe not to a larger extent but it might stunt the progress of the bull run. I haven't seen any major war that didn't have any impact in bitcoin price and this will not be a difference.
129  Economy / Economics / Re: Governments and their irrelevant projects just to steal public funds on: April 16, 2024, 01:12:51 PM
What would make a government to rebrand their traditional currencies just to edit some graphic designs with excessive amounts of money bills involved to execute such project that doe not mean to brings more values to the currency neither does it boost the economy level of the nation?
When the government of a certain country understands that her citizens are hoarding alot of her currency, making little to be in circulation. They might want to redesign their currency, such that everyone hoarding the currency will release.

Should I advise you? This kind of discussion should be written in your local thread for effective discussion.
Agreed.  I have no idea what OP is talking about exactly, and as is typical for members here, very little details are supplied as to what's supposed to be the topic.  I initially thought this might be about the US government and all of their excess spending on idiotic shit, but apparently not.  That's fine, too since government waste has been a contentious subject likely since the beginning of society and governments.
Some people come here without knowing how wide here is. They might think it is just one of the many groups in their country. They will begin to drop undertail issues happening in their country.
130  Economy / Economics / Re: The current situation in the country Nigeria. on: April 16, 2024, 12:32:44 PM
The hardship in Nigeria increase day by day the massive are suffering. The poor old men and women. That doesn't have access to bank are suffering.
I am confused. Did you mean people with not enough funds to open a bank account?

Quote
Just imagine a pregnant woman died in a hospital just because there was no cash the network was bad for transfer.

So the bank was just down? How long was the bank inactive and inaccessible for you to question the credibility of your leaders already?

Isn’t this just a temporary issue that can be given a solution with time? I mean if the hospital needs the payment from the bank they can definitely wait for a little more time if needed.

This thread was created when Nigeria was facing a very hard time. There was no cash in circulation, the country was forcing its citizens to embrace cashless economy while things were not put in place. There was no money in the bank and people will queue for 12hrs only to go home without cash. There was also a problem of bad network to make mobile network transfer. Little did we know that what happened then was an introduction to what we are facing now.

The problem of Nigeria is complicated, even the election that OP mentioned was conducted and the judiciary installed another candidate against the vote of the masses. This was when I gave up in Nigeria matter. Once the common man is deprived his ability to choose his leaders, it is finished. The corrupt politicians use the masses money to keep themselves in power.
131  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation is the main cause of financial depression on: April 16, 2024, 12:06:42 PM
According to the IMF, the world has experienced four global recessions since World War II: 1975, 1982, 1991, and 2009.

Financial recession is caused by financial inflation
If the blockchain system was attached to the government created currency, then the global economy would never have seen a recession.
Maybe a day will come when every country will publicize the blockchain system as their official currency and the price of Bitcoin will skyrocket may be that time only satoshi will be 1$ or more .........  Smiley

The power of the blockchain is no longer in doubt, both the government and individuals have known how powerful the blockchain is in connection to decentralization. It is because of this reason that the government have started developing their own coins that is pegged to their fiat and started running it on blockchain as you can see almost every country have their own CBDC. But then do we conclude that government likes decentralization, no! The government wants to use your data and sensor you, they want to detect what you can and what you cannot do. This is the reason the adoption of blockchain would be slowed, the government especially the corrupt ones will not want to run a government whereby their financial status will be in a place as public as a blockchain. With blockchain no government will manipulate their net worth, their security power and more. We will come to the state of blockchain globalization, but it might not happen any moment.
132  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Educative help needed on: April 15, 2024, 09:31:23 PM
Greetings everyone, I'm new in this forum someone introduced me and he didn't give me guidelines on how this forum works the rules and regulations, I sincerely need help in knowing about this forum, there rules and regulations to avoid defaulting without even knowing it. I'll really appreciate if someone can provide me with helpful information, tools and links that'll help me navigate me my way around the forum with ease.

In order not to remain a newbie on this forum (banned newbie) forever, first of all study the forum rules. I found two violations of the rules in your posts, one of them is plagiarism. If this continues, I'm afraid it will end in a ban.
It's surprising that in less than 10 posts, OP already committed plagerism. He is lucky he escaped and recieved a warning and advice instead. I wish OP will return to read the replies in this post.
@Op, in simple words plagerism means copying other people's work without their consent and passing same as yours without references. So, don't copy anyone and if you do, put in quotes.
133  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is possible to add this feature on ninjastic.space ? on: April 15, 2024, 08:46:52 PM
I think adding the Custom Date Range option in this place of the board activity overview interface will make our life more easier. This is my humble request to Tryninja.
You should make this suggestion directly to member TryNinja or write in ninjastic.space topic, there is no need to create separate topic about that in Meta board.
I just checked and there is an option to select custom date range when you are searching something in ninjastic.
The other time I read a similar thread suggesting what to include in telegram notifier. Today it is ninjastic, but they each have their dedicated threads and developers working on these projects are active in those threads.
134  Other / Meta / Re: Post per day/ per month falling. on: April 15, 2024, 07:47:13 PM
Op, I am still struggling to understand the relationship between halving and the number of posts in the forum. Things that affect number of posts are signature campaigns, give aways etc

You have displayed the results of posts per day on a scale for the last 3 months, while posts per month on a general scale, which gives bias , but in general there is a decrease in the number of posts, and if the data is compared to the last ten years, we may notice that part of the decrease is normal and the other part Due to the lack of signature campaigns and an attempt to reduce spam on Gambling boards.

Why only Gambling board cant you see the amount of spam only on the Bitcoin discussion and Altcoin discussion board? Spam is everywhere if you go out and check all the boards. I agree lack of a signature campaign might be one of the reasons why the activity is going down but to think that another forum is getting the traffic would be not wiser. There are a few policies by the admin that might have resulted in the downfall of user engagement and traffic coming into the forum.

It is true there's spamming in almost all the boards where generic topics are discussed. It was from somewhere last year that bitcoin discussion board began to appear like a spam board. If you also check the local boards you will be surprised by the number of spam happening there. However, gambling discussion board houses the majority of the spammers.
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETF approved in Hong Kong on: April 15, 2024, 07:17:32 PM
It is good to read this kind of new. I hope that more countries will follow this and approve bitcoin ETF.

Can this actually triggers for more adoption on bitcoin as a legal tender or we should only take this as something that is more of being beneficial to the organizations and all other third party investors than we already stand to gain in bitcoin adoption, we should be able to tell that bitcoin ETF has only affect the adoption of the use case for bitcoin and the market price positively, but there is still more to expect in seeing many countries making it as a legal tender.
I think asking that bitcoin be made a legal tender in different countries is overly big to be requested. I don't think it's what the community wants. Just allow bitcoin be and also fiat be. Then this ETF approval and other related approvals are much good to globalize the adoption. I don't think that bitcoin wearing the legal tender status will perform better. Take the El Salvador case for instance.

I believe the price will rise gradually, like what happened with US etf
Might also not happen because the wave and the news isn't as big as the US ETF. If not for this thread, I wouldn't be aware.
136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin halving countdown on: April 15, 2024, 07:01:58 PM
~snip~
~snip~ Do you want to invest in bitcoin right now or waiting after halving and opportunity get correction to buy bitcoin has more lower price.

I bought enough bitcoin to hold, I won't buy any more even if bitcoin corrects and drops further. I have my reasons and I'm not comfortable stating them. So what I expect is that bitcoin will continue to rise and will have a new ATH this month or later in May. Even though bitcoin is correcting, I have not changed my view.

But I have advice for those who have money left and want to invest in bitcoin, I think you should buy as soon as possible because after all, bitcoin is very unpredictable.
Bitcoin is very much unpredictable mate. No matter how attentive to charts we are or how technically we are inclined, things must take us unaware sometimes.
Who has thought that ATH will happen before halving;
Who thought big dip will happen after ETF approval;
Little did we know it was preparing for higher move;
I won't be surprised if there's no correction after halving;
There's a big change in the bitcoin ecosystem, and it seems a new standard wants to emerge. To be on a safer side, you should have been DCAing from 2022.
137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It takes the balls... on: April 15, 2024, 06:49:20 PM
Finally it's happening, are you buying already? Because I asked three friends via WhatsApp and they wanted more dips.
Of course they want more dips.  And when the dip they want never happens, Bitcoin is too expensive!  So why buy now when you can wait until Bitcoin is 100,000 Dollars so you can whine about how expensive it is and how it will NEVER go higher than that.

Stop wasting time with these kind of friends.  They will be stuck in a continuous loop of pretending to be smarter and never actually buying.  At the end of the day, they will lose the most.  Do your own thing, buy your Bitcoin when you feel like it and that is it.
They will be like, it is within the range of 60k, it is still high. I hope it will go back to the range of $40k then I will buy. Then, 40k will never happen again. They will keep speculating until it is bull run and the price is moving fast to 100k. They will eventually join at the range of 90k when the FOMO is very high. Then the bear will happen to them and they will panic and sell at lose. The cycle continues that way.
138  Economy / Reputation / Re: Anonymity of Bitcointalk forum members on: April 14, 2024, 07:13:04 PM

Oh, I'm sure there are quite a few agencies that have members registered or at least lurking here.
I believe this as well. Probably a lot of alphabet soup within the boards of this forum. I would say a big IRS presence as the government always wants to get their piece of everyone's pie.

The mixers being gone might have calmed down some of the other alphabet soups presence.
I thought about this also. If these few agencies have eyes here, it should happen when chipmixer was seized and first time this forum was mentioned as where he advertised. Maybe agencies deemed it fit to track what is happening here after the incident.
Now mixers are no longer here, they shouldn't be watching nothing or casinos.
139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: April 14, 2024, 05:29:25 PM
English Premier League on the verge of loosing its credibility. Arsenal 0:2 Aston Villa

Early hours of today, I made a post when Liverpool was about loosing it to Crystal Palace and finally it happened. In the race to the English premier League title, I believe Liverpool more than Arsenal. Liverpool refused to win against Crystal palace and now Arsenal cannot win against Aston villa. Now, they have gifted the top 1 status to Manchester city. If this finally happens, England cannot be said to be among the tough leagues again.
140  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to be more visible in the forum as a beginner on: April 14, 2024, 05:10:05 PM
Some sections I feel it's not too good for a newbie to engage in discussion are: The reputation board, Loan section, Meta, development and technical discussion, scam accusation and project development.
This is very misleading Op. A newbie can actually contribute anywhere and the last three boards that I bolded is always flooded by newbies with genuine reasons.
Technical discussion: When I was visiting this board, I see genuine newbies who located the board through google search. They come there to ask genuine real time questions and have answers.
Scam accusation: I have seen newbies accusing casinos and other projects of attempting scam. You shouldn't be an established member before you will be scammed or accuse someone of scam.
Project development: Some project owners are just new in this forum.
