Do you have a idiots guide to compile it?

Here is a tutorial written from calvinstm

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=881230.msg10789056#msg10789056

Below are the steps to compile the Qora.jar file

Download eclipse

Create / Select a workspace

File / Import

/ Git / Projects from Git

/ Clone URI

/ Enter Github Repo

/ Select Master Branch

/ Select Destination

/ Import Existing Projects

/ Finish

/ Close the Welcome tab

You have now Qora source code on your workspace

Select the >Qora [Qora master] from Package Explorer, click on Run on menu bar and then Run again

Run as Java Application

On the next step scroll down and click on the Start - (default package) and click OK

You have launched the wallet directly from source
To continue with the compilation of Qora.Jar file click on cancel to exit / close the wallet and stop running

While >Qora [Qora master] is selected do the below
/ File / Export / Java / Runnable JAR file

/ Launch Configuration = Start - Qora
/ Select Export destination
/ Select Package required libraries into generated JAR

You have now compiled the Qora.jar file directly from source code.
The next step is to download the latest wallet (V18) released by Qora ( link : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=522102.msg9107198#msg9107198 ) extract the zip, replace the Qora.jar with the new compiled Qora.jar you have just made and place a data and a wallet folder into there.
Blochckain will start from scratch no matter if there is a data folder in there and the addresses won't be displayed on the wallet even if the wallet folder is in there.

124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | 100% POS | Assets | Names | Voting | Open Source on: April 05, 2015, 03:34:28 PM
! IMPORTANT !

From the release of source code and afterwards, existing data and wallet folders won't be recognised by a new compiled Qora.jar file.
This mean that you cannot copy and paste your previous data and wallet folder and have them along with a newly compiled Qora.jar.
You can test it on your own by compiling a runnable jar file from the source published by qora https://github.com/Qora/Qora
So please, everyone save your seed before proceed with the new wallet version that it will be released tomorrow.
If you're not have saved your seed before using the new wallet version you will not be able to access your funds.

To save your seed, open the wallet, click on File\Debug and on Console tab type GET wallet/seed then write down your seed somewhere safe.
You will need it to recover your wallet from seed along with your password.

On Monday, 6 of April a new wallet version is going to be released, v0.19
The release will include the following updates:
  • MapDB v 1.0.7
  • Name Payments
  • Automatic recreation of data folder in case wallet not closed properly.
Also Windows,MAC and Linux wallet versions will be released along with the regular - known wallet.

Any chance AT will be done in this release?

AT is ready to be tested by the entire team this weekend.A private testnet will be set for that. When we ensure that everything works properly and smoothly, AT will be released.
Also, if there are people patient enough, who have the time and the willing to help us with those tests in this private testnet please let us known.Slack will be used to coordinate it.

What we would like to achieve with this release is to update the network with the latest known peers, implement the latest updates and fixes that have been made and introduce a bit of "user-friendly wallet".

This transaction had caused the generating balance of bter's wallet to be increased dramatically, thus the network generating balance has been retargeted to 2.761.162.907 from 1.172.730.076, starting from block 86681 and lasting till block 86690
Bter have generated the blocks 86681, 86682 and 86683 and then stopped forging.

Right now the address QRJ7AptpQfC49nXNyhSjwJpPJyroG7e21t and the address QM44vgpre3iEGBAoTUwDUCs4U16YM6hibd are generating orphaned blocks.
The last synched block at the time of writing this post is 86855 and this is the right chain

If you want to forge please ensure that the settings.json file contains the below, open the wallet, unlock it once and then lock it again.Your wallet will start forging.

I have cloned Qora source code on Github under a new Github profile which is : https://github.com/Qoracoin
In there, right now there are two repositories:
Qora - The existing source code plus the source code used to deploy the native library.
Qora.org The website made by Qora itself and it is based on dzarmush's design. This website is now live at http://www.qora.org/

Very strange....

Seams to be an issue with the Blockexplorer.

Code:

Balance of this account isn't zero.

Nice catch. Just don't understand why the blockchain explorer cannot read this balance correctly.

Interesting coz it seems it can read most other balances correctly including mine.

I guess that block explorer might uses a DB instance for caching some data.
If you look at this address http://qora.co.in/?q=QXbn5VKQLUCbpHbmaQKRRpouTGXLtyWTut which is the faucet address the balance is negative and their first transaction have made on March 7 of 2015 which is not the case.

If you are planning  to implement a kind of encryption  like Shamir's Secret Sharing you can have a messaging service that supports private messages.

Otherwise the above could be considered as a microblogging service ( and a form of social network  Wink )

Hey! That gives me an idea... We can actually have a message board inside Qora..

Okay, forget about private messaging for now..

What about a subscription-based microblogging service??  Is that better?

Let's say we will maintain a list of your subscription in the local client (for instance, Vrontis subscribed to calvinstm's blog).

Then, the client will find all the posts (transactions) from calvinstm and display them inside subscriber's client (of course it will require a custom client mod)...

I think that'll be more useful than a messaging service, no?

Let's think about this a bit more before I implement it...

PS: Thanks for the feedback, and gotta say you've got a lot of great ideas, Vrontis. I've gotta think about this too...

Hehehe, exactly! This is the proper design to have this working as a form of microblogging - social network.
A subscription service can be implemented into this.I was thinking this like, a service to handle subscriptions and a service to handle posts. Then the client will call the posts made by users that the client's user had subscripted and the posts will be loaded into client's timeline.
To be more specific:

Let's consider service 1 as subscription and service 2 as posts.

The user A uses this client.
The user A have subscribed to follow the user B.
To list this subscription, an arbitrary transaction is needed to be created made by the address of the user A and writes that he listens to user's B posts.

So, the first is a lookup function that searches for the arbitrary transactions made from the address of user A (the same user who uses that client)  in service 1 and gathers the addresses of the users that he had subscribed. This will ensure that the subscription service will not get "hacked" and the client will load only what user A have subscribed by searching for arbitrary transactions made by user's A address.
That's how you build that subscription service and ensure that it will load only what users have desired to have into their timelines.

Then the client scans the service 2 to load the posts made by the addresses that have been gathered from the above function and displays them ordered by time.

Another needed function of that client is a search function in order to let users discover content and/or other users.

I don't want to distract you or redirect you from your original plan (although a messaging service is needed) but I think that we can work this out.

An Announcement for Qora Messaging System (Based on Arbitrary Transaction & Will Support Qora Name System)

1. Qora Messaging System has been assigned a Service ID = 1 by me.  I don't know how to restrict use of Service Id, but I hope we can agree that Service port 1 is for messaging and not for other purpose.

2. Qora Messaging System is currently encoded using the Base58 encoder included in the Qora source code.  However, it should support full encryption in the future (after I test it to make sure it's fully working).

3. Qora Messaging System will support "handles" using Qora's Name System.  For instance, if your Qora ID is bob and your partner is matt, bob will be able to message matt directly.

4. Qora Messaging System will support two kinds of targets -- 1) Qora Name-based alias handle, 2) Qora address contact.

5. Qora Messaging System currently has the following data format (will be revised later) -

{recipient:{name or address}, message:{base58 encoded message}}

Let me know if you guys have any input, feature request.. or anything you'd like to add...

Thanks!

If you are planning  to implement a kind of encryption  like Shamir's Secret Sharing you can have a messaging service that supports private messages.

Otherwise the above could be considered as a microblogging service ( and a form of social network  Wink )
