121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Elitehash Raven PPS Pools - stable rewards, payouts every hour! on: May 09, 2018, 06:51:13 PM
Welcome Elitehash pools, http://rvn.elitehash.net

There's practically no variance on payouts as it's PPS, and the payouts start rolling almost instantly. Balances above 5 RVN are paid multiple times per hour (ask for custom thresholds!), idle balances are paid out quickly too. The pool payout rate varies but I try not to make radical changes. Obviously nothing like going to 50% payout rate suddenly. It's displayed like that because it's been over 100% - though that's unlikely to return in the foreseeable future.

If the pool loses hashrate noticeably, payout rate is probably increased, because less variance has to be absorbed.
If the pool gains hashrate rapidly, payout rate will probably decrease, unless it seems possible & reasonable to endure the increase in variance.
If the pool hashrate doesn't move enough to warrant changes, payout rate may still be adjusted in small ticks.

These principles should help understand how the rate behaves. I have a natural incentive to abstain from making shocking changes, but that doesn't mean I'm perfect. There have been 2 or 3 situations that I would've liked to have prepared better for, when I felt like I was making changes too suddenly but was forced to anyway. That number would be double if I hadn't opted to give the pool some 'loans' to bail out from bad luck. I'm glad those have been repaid already, now the focus is on better stability so it doesn't have to happen again.

Perhaps we can return to focusing on high payout rates at some point. I thought that - having started almost a year ago - it would be obvious that I have an incentive to keep things running, and hence fix any delays in payments. These happened semi-frequently when I still tried to keep the payout rate as high as possible. Experience shows that people didn't think like that; the level of panic was higher than anticipated. Today it's the opposite, I really expected more sullen comparisons agains past rates. Of course it's only fair to compare against real results from current pools, but not everyone cares Smiley

It's odd how silent all miners are now. Surely there are more features people want, assuming there are no problems (there always are...)? Naturally I'd like requests for features that don't even exist anywhere else yet. Don't let that turn you down!

I just realized that the transaction fees on Raven are so absurdly low, there's nothing stopping my pool from paying out every 420 seconds (7 minutes). There's also no fee.

Welcome to a brand new PPS pool for Raven! Rate is set to 99.84% and payouts are sent hourly.

im mining on bitcorepool.cc, you should try it.

Anything but. https://chainz.cryptoid.info/btx/#!extraction do you want to make it reach 50% again?

It's the address with boob in it.

LOL, the address with boob in it!

By the way, UMine and Omegapool are good too with regular payouts. I'm mining on both at the moment.

UMine is indeed a good choice. Omegapool = Bitcorepool. They tried to make them look like different pools at first but it was obvious they were being run by the same people and soon they officially merged.

Miners, welcome to my new PPS pool: http://xvg.elitehash.net/

Frequent payouts with 100% rate, I'm only taking the transaction fees. Telegram group has lots of active members to help! Smiley
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Network Attack on XVG / VERGE on: May 04, 2018, 03:31:41 AM
Hey, if anyone is interested in a Verge PPS pool, I just launched this today: http://xvg.elitehash.net/

Other algos coming, for now there's just X17. Payouts are set to 100% (meaning I will keep the transaction fees but that's it)

It's looking like a good day to BTX miners, with price rising and difficulty still very low. Welcome to my PPS pool where you'll get paid the fastest if you want to dump to BTC Smiley. I'm holding mine though.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3285208.0

What's the potential daily BTX returns with 12x 1070s?

Anyone?

C'mon guys, let's also help each other out in between the arguing, shall we?

... back to your question, mining with 12 GTX 1070's will get you ~ 2.5 to a little under 3 BTX a day.

Also the diff is still kind of low, so you picked a good time to join. Welcome aboard!

Thanks. Might point them at BTX then for a while see how it goes, need to look into how to set it up when I get some spare time.

Actually works out at just over 1 BTX a day so not really worth it for me.

How would you only get 1 BTX from that?

No idea, but that's what I got, roughly 1.1 BTX from just under 24hr mining.

Perhaps you were mining on a pool with variance? I'm pretty sure my pool has the lowest possible variance around here, as it's PPS at 102.4% rate (to cover any TX fees in the blocks). Only variance on payouts would be from submitted shares, which is almost nothing. Currently you should get around 2.9 BTX with 12x 1070 Ti's (258 MH/s)

It was on Suprnova. They're just 1070s not Tis.

I'm getting 21.5 MH/s on a regular 1070, and 23.5 MH/s on a 1070 Ti. A lot of people seem to struggle getting a 1070 to even 20 MH/s, I don't understand what's the problem. But that 1.1 BTX is just so much less than what you should be getting. Why bother with Suprnova if they are taking 50% of your profits?

I'm not a fan of McAfee, but heck... that's free publicity!
I sent my vote from all my email addresses  Grin

Mcafee only advertises shitcoins, I have not yet seen one legit coin he talked about, so I'd rather not see BTX getting tweet by him, it would get an instant pump but long term it would cause more damage.

Truth be told we wont Need McAfee Tweets. Whole cryptoworld will get notice, once we gang rape Bitcoin Cash !

Exactly my rationale for NOT sending an email to this attention whore.

Got a nice test run with 20 GH/s, only problem was the graphs were loading a bit slow.

What characters should be supported in worker names? Currently I think it's only alphanumeric and dashes, what else are people using?

Here's my pledge from Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/bitcore_btx/comments/8c9iz4/miners_at_omegapool_do_you_understand_what_a_51/dxd56gq/

"My pool will never reach 33%. At 25% new miners cannot be accepted, and measures have to be started to prevent the growth of the existing hashrate above 33%. With the last resort being temporary banning of noncompliant miners."

The pool has been running at 15 GH/s for some time now. If anyone catches us reaching 25%, please start complaining!

Is there any point in repeating for pages and pages that it seems to be bad? Yeah it is, most likely no development will never be seen. But if you were the dev, and had honestly thought that you are going to finish the project, reading this thread would do wonders in killing any motivation that's left Smiley. Move on to other things and stash those tokens among other failed investments that are waiting for a miracle.
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Lightning support in altcoins on: April 21, 2018, 07:25:58 AM
Everybody knows that Litecoin was a pioneer in SegWit and Lightning technology. Now there are at least lnd and c-lightning, worthwhile projects both. But does anyone know how compatible these are with altcoins? For Litecoin there obviously is an implementation, what are they using? But the coin I'm thinking about mainly is Bitcore. It is claimed to be SegWit-ready and is based on Bitcoin 0.15 currently. What does it actually take from an altcoin to be LN-compatible?

140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcore PPS Pools on: April 18, 2018, 11:05:49 PM
The situation with Omegapool is better now, but still it has at least 10% (percentage units) too much hashrate. Bitcore PPS Pools are doing just fine, so perhaps this time I'll recommend people to give https://bsod.pw/ a go. The operator seems to have woken up from slumber and is active again, and the pool has almost enough hashrate to combat variance at this low difficulty level. We need a lot more pools than these handful to really look like a properly decentralized coin. I'll save my lecture about payout methods to a later date Wink
