121  Other / Meta / Re: Why is merit not common on trading discussion board on: April 18, 2024, 07:57:14 PM
I have noticed that someone will ask question on trading discussion, you will give answer but your post will not be given any merit. Sometimes like 1 out of 20 or 30 or more, you will only be given just 1 merit. If it is technical board, any useful answer will be bombarded with merits.

Is there no partiality in merit giving and receiving?

I have actually look at boards and seriously I have seen found out that aside the technical board which yes I don’t question the flow of merits there due to how delicate the board is, the second Board that gets more merits is the beginners and help board. The rest boards are just one or two. The trading discussion board although its sub boards; reputation and scam accusation do get lots of merit too due to the nature of discussion going on there. But the main trading discussion board is neglected, the question one needs to ask is, is it that there is no merit source assign to the board or the merit sources assigned to the board are no longer active. If it is any of the two then the board needs new merit sources because trading is also a very important aspect of bitcoin too, which is the main reason for the forum.

So OP since you’re a frequent on the board and also knowledgeable there I think you should apply as merit source even though we have lots of applications already in place but I can’t find that of trading discussion. Hopefully Theymos will one day approve the applications. But for now let’s do our own bits of applying
122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 17, 2024, 10:42:22 PM

You made a fine point by saying players need to leave and not the manager being the problem of Manchester United but you spoiled all the good you have said by blasting Bruno Fernandez making all you have said completely wrong. How is Bruno Fernandez the problem? Have you been watching something else? You should be talking about players like Anthony, Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire, Jonny Evans and Sofyan Amrabat all leaving the club.

Can you point out his issues? No! But you'd go on to blame a player who plays around lad who aren't serious with their football careers. Bruno Fernandez has been the most productive player in the Premier League, but most of the chances created by the Portuguese Magician has not been well converted. These players stress him alot.

I agree with Casemiro, Erikson, Scott MC Tominay and àlso Amrabat leaving completely. They're currently lining up a move for Ivan Toney.

I just don’t know why most at times when I read about others analysis here most especially on Manchester United I usually find your point mostly aligning to my opinion too. If there is anyone I think that wants Bruno out of Manchester United is either a rival fan that wants to banter Manchester United or a plastic fan that doesn’t know the real Manchester United problem

Bruno Fernandez might have his shortcomings as a human like been too emotional when playing and trying to get everything right which makes him make mistakes. But I will tell you no player in this Manchester United squad has more passion for the club than Bruno Fernandez. If half of the United team can be like him with such mentality I think they might be far better than they are now. Bruno since his debut has the most goal contributions that any other player in the EPL
123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: April 17, 2024, 10:26:55 PM
match ended on penalties, congratulations to Real Madrid for the victory.
Unfortunately this was supposed to be the final.
The first leg was undoubtedly more beautiful to watch, with more spectacle there are more goals.
Now the winner is clearly the favorite to win the Cup final.

Ancellotti will do it again.

Definitely what I am bitter about, this would been a befitting final but maybe the UEFA board didn’t want to take chances just yet and gave us this opportunity to witness the two of the biggest clubs in world football currently. Manchester city we’re definitely at their best today, holding on to possession as they usually do and stretch Madrid out the entire time. They have all the stats to prove that. But people downplay the fact that Madrid had a very strong performance today. I don’t think any team will be able to withstand such pressing pressure from Manchester city for nearly 100 minutes. All the players were wonderful today especially the defenders, I was mostly impressed by Carvajal who I will say didn’t put a foot wrong except that attack from Doku that lead to goal. Sadly he will be missed in the next toe against Bayern Munich which looks to be another epic encounter
124  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin pump|before halving on: April 17, 2024, 10:15:04 PM

It's on the brink of going down < $60k. There are data that shows the reason for this downside is that there are no inflows coming from Bitcoin Spot ETF. But as we look throughout Bitcoin past historical logs, prior to the halving, this is just but normal to see no actions or even the price going down.

So in 2 days, we will see if the trend will continue. On the other hand, this could be taken advantage as we can buy at this current price and accumulate and hold. There's nothing better to buy cheap Bitcoin in a downturn before the halving and then just wait till it recover and bounce back and see a parabolic rise till the end of the year.

There was a strong support on that $61k price point and immediately it broke the support barrier many people were looking at a bearish trend. I don’t see us rallying up that much from here because just like you said I think the the Institutions for ETFs are done for now to accumulate bitcoin. My thinking is they will have to start accumulating again maybe after the halving. As for individual investors, charts have shown that they look scared with the fear and greed index at 60% which shows a decline from around 85-88% it had been around in for some weeks now.

Also this align with past events prior to halving were we have a correction. If one is looking to accumulate then this is the perfect time or wait till the F&G factor comes below 50% again. My tactics for this is buy when most people are scared and sell when people are greedy
125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The effect Nigeria ban on Binance P2P traders on: April 17, 2024, 09:33:25 PM

If there is no alternative today, I am sure tomorrow you will find multiple alternatives. In the meantime, Nigerian people can use Paxful or Noones.

I will say Nigerians didn’t even feel the impact of the ban that much not like it was the only exchange used for that. Right before the ban, many top exchanges already had many Nigerian customers using the P2P feature and immediately Binance announced the removal of the naira pair people just completely shift to the exchanges like KuCoin, Bybit and OKX. This exchanges have almost same functionality and features like the binance. And so the impact of binance ban wasn’t that much as People portray it to be.

In the Philippines, Binance is banned only on the internet but people there they still able to access Binance by changing their DNS or by using a VPN this is how the government wants to control people on the crypto because they see many people become rich without paying TAX or they don't want their people to be rich.

Yes even in Nigeria many this are banned only on the internet like the web links for exchanges and also popular cryptocurrency platforms but still people easily get access to it by simply using the VPN. The P2P is only a problem because it was removed by the exchange itself.
126  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Person wey get money no fit spray the money again? on: April 17, 2024, 09:20:38 PM
My brother, this mata tire me too becos I take style reason d mata and later come to the conclusion say nah country wey no really get wetin Dem wan use hold hand nah dey carry these kind mata seriously. See nah, no be today the naira begin dey receive abuse and of we check am, no be only we naija big boys dey play with this moni anyhow; for other countries, we dey see am bit we neva hear say their police go arrest them for dollar or other currency abuse but as naija dey use every method to take siphon moni, them use this one put as law.
Cubana chief priest na guy wey dey within him rights to do wetin him want with the cash but it's like these bodies wan show am how to use the money e work for.

Firstly the government on its own get hand for how excess the naira dey because excess printing of this currency na him Dey cause everything and it should be stopped or a counter measure should be taken.

Now to this two people even though they are plenty of their kind that the EFCC needs to take action. But saying Cubana Chief Priest get him right to throw money anyhow is not true, he is in a land that has laws and if you want to live you need to behave like the Romans. If you check well no other country most especially developed countries allows the disrespect that some citizens put on naira notes. This is a national currency you can’t be throwing it out and match it like that. Yes we can argue that they are not the only people and also there people on high places that have done the same but all in all it is wrong to do that
127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 16, 2024, 10:55:12 PM

Yeah it is difficult to explain what happened in the Premier League this week, we were very surprised to see Liverpool and Arsenal being defeated, even though the two teams were in the race this means that their efforts in a year will be in vain with one defeat before the end of this season lol, I know this is not over, but from here we can see that they will be in vain if Manchester City can play consistently in the next 6 matches. Of the 6 matches left, Manchester City only has one tough match while playing away against Tottenham and Manchester City only needs a draw in this match.

For any opposition go against Manchester city the worst thing to do is allow them to be on top of the league because once they get that they don’t lose again till the season ends, i have seen Manchester city doing a straight 15 match wins before to get the league. Currently people see the Tottenham game as an obstacle for Manchester city but I don’t see the game as that, rather it’s those clubs fighting off relegation or other European places that are tricky. The game against Wolves is more tricky than Tottenham’s game as Wolves have always been a bon of contention for Manchester City to defeat.

And as you have said a draw wouldn’t get Manchester city at the top of the league as this will definitely draw dem level on points with Arsenal and Arsenal has a superior goal difference than the other three. Should they be level on points arsenal will go top. So the best thing is to win all matches
128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: April 16, 2024, 10:40:09 PM

The refree cost Barcelona this game. An experienced refree should be used to officiate important matches like this. So many wrong decisions from the refree resulted to this lost for Barcelona. The red card destabilize Barcelona thou I didn't expect it to have too much impact on the game but it actually did. PSG came really prepared from the starting and also took the advantage of refree situation.

Refree partiality aside, Barcelona lacked a dose of greatness and fighting spirit. Perhaps, they capitalize on the aggregate thinking it's game over but PSG turn things around in an incredibly way. Xavi made some wrong substitutions after the red card which makes the situation worse. The only person that deserve accolade in that squad is goal keeper. The scoreline would have been a terrible disaster without those saves from Stergen.

I expected Barcelona to proceed and go ahead in this fixture, because in the first leg they were more confused. But In the first 10 minutes I saw how pumped PSG were to get it done most especially Ousmane Dembele. I saw many Fans actually playing the card that the referee had a bad game but I don’t see anything there. Aside the fact that he issued many yellow cards to players towards the end of the match just to have the game calm, the red cards were definitely spot on. Arajauo was lying that he had a shoulder to shoulder battle with Barcola and replays showed exactly how his hands were on top of Barcola’s shoulder. Yes many will say it was soft but the referee cannot say that as long as it brought the player down who was definitely through on goal. It was even a good catch by the referee to even spot that it was free kick rather than a penalty.

Aside that Xavi red was deserved, the penalty converted by Mbappe was spot on too and in fact Raphinah was lucky to escape with just yellow card after clapping his hands towards the linesman for his decision which is a second card offense. Yes many who he didn’t go there way will argue but the referee was spot on with his calls
129  Other / Meta / Re: Why seeing merit on my post when I can not merit my own post on: April 16, 2024, 10:25:14 PM
It wouldn’t be a bad idea to get it removed but the question remains is it actually necessary to do so? I would have actually gone with idea that it should be removed if at all if someone uses it and the merit goes through by allowing to send to yourself but since the options is blocks you off then there is no problem like mistake of sending to your self. Also although o don’t have much knowledge about this patches, but wouldn’t create more of a problem eliminating that button only for yourself, if it were to be a easy fix then no problem but something tells me it will mostly affects like plenty areas on the patch, which to me wouldn’t worth the hassle.
130  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Leverage on: April 16, 2024, 10:03:10 PM
In life, leverage is good as it helps to help us accomplish a goal faster. But in trading, leverage in trading is clearly a bad deal. It messes things up for both the traders and the market. So my question is why do exchanges still offer them. They keep pushing it to traders like favourite snack?

Because exchanges are business platforms and what they are interested in is profit. Leverages are like lended funds to trade yes it is a bit risky but it’s also brings about more profit on a single trade than the one without leverages same as the lose but traders prefer to take the risk of using leverages just to maximize their profits. Any exchange that stops leverage trading now will lose almost all its traders as a customers because it is why many traders are after, in fact most exchanges lure in more traders with their high leverages. So as long trading exits I don’t see leverage been removed
131  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: World bank says Nigeria’s 2024 inflation rate will drop to 24.8 per cent on: April 13, 2024, 02:55:54 PM

Those selling local products are the ones that are gaining more now as the prices of local products is not decreasing and that is still inflation. If the price all come down, the sellers will not lose even if they bought at higher prices.

What type of local products are we talking about here the ones we produce or the one’s we imported in. The ones we produce aren’t coming down because it wasn’t only the dollar that affected their hike prices alone. Things like energy needed for power also played its role (petrol and gas) and if we look at them they are still not coming down alongside the dollar rate right now.

As for those imported I think it has to do with our selfishness you will see retailers complaining that they have to sell off this products first and only reduce the price when they buy new one. But this ideology fails to work when it is the other way round. One thing that this period is telling us is that we need a good regulatory system on this things.

As for inflation I don’t know the yard stick use to measure its decrease but demand is still high to me even though people have cut down there living cost
132  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to be more visible in the forum as a beginner on: April 13, 2024, 01:40:15 PM
I didn't take my time to read your post, but from what I've summarized from it is that you are wrong. You shouldn't conclude from your own perspective about how the from works by saying that most newbies who post in the reputation board, Loan session, Meta, development and technical discussion, scam accusation and project development are misinterpreted or called Alts. I've literally not seen any reputation thread here on the forum where members make false accusations. expect for some that were misunderstood. All reputation thread that have been raised always comes with full proof and evidence of linked Alt accounts. So except a newbie is actually guilty of such I see no reason why he shouldn't engage in those sections you've listed above.

Of all the boards listed above i will pick out the Reputation and loan session board out where I have seen newbies been called alts and if I am asked to justify I will say some of the allegations/claims seems not to be far from the truth. Reason why they call accounts like that alts is because the informations on those boards aren’t general information which can be gotten just outside the forum and even if you come to the forum you can’t just get accustomed to rules there, it takes time first and that’s why newbies or newly created accounts are tagged alts when they meddle with discussions there.

As for other boards the informations are pretty outside the forum that you can gain knowledge and engage in their discussions here and I haven’t seen anyone call out a newly created account as an alt for crypto discussions
133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 13, 2024, 01:28:30 PM

In my opinion he made a good choice, I hope he can play for a good Ligue 1 team. Manchester United is a team that has been destroying its players recently, they are very similar to Chelsea. In my opinion, the management of Manchester United needs to change and they need to restructure the team if they want to be a winning team capable of winning the premier league and attracting the attention of many good players. At this moment, any good player who agrees to play for Manchester United will have his career destroyed. Marcus Rashford should look for another good premier league team if he wants to have a good career. At Manchester United he will destroy himself

There is no denying the fact that Manchester United as a club has a poor recruitment process right from the top. The people in directors position aren’t that capable, they either sign a player for an overprice with a very high wage, or they go for old players or even sign players who play out of position. That’s why I think the new management under Sir Ratcliff seems to be on the right track to me. Re structuring those at the top before coming for the player and the coaching staff. Nobody is denying that.

But saying they ruin players careers i have to disagree most especially the two players you just cited; Martial and Rashford. Martial leaving is good for him and also the best thing for Manchester United. He hardly plays not that the coach benches him but because he is rarely fit. As for Rashford he seems not to get concerned about football and yet he still gets playing time. Is Manchester United the cause of their decline? They are one of the best players in the EPL a whooping &250k plus a week and still plays without their heart. If they are that exceptional excellent on the pitch many clubs would have come for them and they will have leave
134  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Reminiscing over Binance on: April 13, 2024, 11:57:19 AM
I agree with Charle-Tim Binance always seems to be too overhyped when things like P2P are talked about. I don’t know for many but even before binance had issues with the federal government I had found comfort using KuCoin for my P2P trades and reason been the same as you are attacking Bybit for poor support response Same issue I had that time with Binance. KuCoin since then have been my best exchange for the P2P transactions, this doesn’t mean they wouldn’t have their own flaws too.

As for support problems concerning P2P all exchanges use to take time if both sides keeps pushing, some times they ask each party to contact their banks and it takes nothing less than 24 hours giving to reach out to them.

As for those that we’re trusting binance and kept there funds there they were doing the wrong thing and even if they move to another exchange again it is still wrong to trust exchanges. Don’t be deceived by the SAFU on binance take your money off any exchange before it is dangerous
135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 12, 2024, 11:57:27 PM
Erik Ten Hag is just lucky that he recorded massive success in the first season he was at the club to the extent that the great Sir Alex Ferguson shared a meal with him. If this inconsistent Manchester United performance was in the first season, they would have searched a replacement for him already.
I do not agree that there are no other choices of coaches that could fill the position of coach for Manchester United if Ten Hag is sacked. The management of the club can lure any coach that has shown tactical intelligence with any team they are handling in any competition or league around the world. Some people never knew Erik Ten Hag before he became Manchester United coach.

Yes his first season was a like a success, guiding the club to a third place finish which qualified them for a champions league place, a trophy after like four seasons without winning any and also an FA cup final lost to Manchester United. This were what raised the hopes of many fans and they were expecting at least a title charge this season which didn’t happen due to the bad start of the season due to many circumstances like the club the having a change of ownership problem and also the multiple injuries he incurred during this time.

Should United offer Ten Hag a chance I will say he deserves that for a season with a better transfer back up this time
136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: April 12, 2024, 11:42:18 PM

As a matter of fact, I am eager to see Victor Osimhen leave Napoli because his growth is what I'm rooting for and being in Napoli doesn't seem to be enough of opportunities and future for him there. So moving him away from that place to another more comfortable place would be the best thing to do.

In Chelsea or Manchester United, Victor Osimhen will be playing with a lot of A-list clubs in the world to fight for their Premier League and subsequently Champions League competitions. But Osimhen also needs a club that is highly promising and a club that would not practice racism or discrimination against him. If I were him, any next contract I'm signing, I would probably include some clauses that have to do with identity protection amongst people.

I think most of the people that want to see Victor Osihmen move is because they want him to go to a new league or a club where he is treated equally or at least protected or supported in the face of racism from the fans. Even at that Victor Osihmen will still have to make a choice of club where is growth is also possible like winning trophies, winning personal accolades and the rest. Osihmen already had said he love the both clubs Manchester United and Chelsea because as a Nigerian he grew up with this clubs been the biggest fan base. Yes if he moves to any of this clubs he will definitely be cherished most especially if he brings the A- game or performance he gives at Napoli to the club. But right now it seems both club wouldn’t be able to get him because he is rumored to have agreed personal terms with PSG and if it’s true is still a great deal to me.

But should he decide to pick any of the clubs Manchester United or Chelsea, I will say pick Chelsea instead as they seems to be having a trouble time getting a proper striker since Osihmen’s Idol Drogba left, at Manchester United they already have a striker who to me seems like a good fit for them and will only be needing a second striker for just cup games and probably few other games. Also the clause you talk about will be great but clubs can’t signed that because they can’t control the fans who throw this racist chants at the players
137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: April 12, 2024, 11:23:46 PM
This is a very unfortunate match for Liverpool. I am amongst those that bid that Liverpool will make it to the finals and meet Bayern Leverkusen. This prediction was base on the experience that all teams have in European competitions and the team that will make it to the finals of the competition. Now that Liverpool have lost to Atalanta in their home, they should prepare to play a more interesting second leg match that is coming for them. This was suppose to be the easiest match for that day but it was a shame for Liverpool losing to Atalanta, i Just  hope they can revive and take the lead in the second leg in order to qualify for the next round  of the competition.

One thing about this European night’s football is the fact that it always comes with surprises like under dogs piping the favourites. Atlanta although in this case were underdogs but in reality they too are one of the competition favorites. Many people have piped Liverpool to the game most especially because it was Anfield, a place which is more like a fortress for them, but it happened that Atlanta was just too good in and lucky In the match to get those goals. Does Liverpool still have a chance, I will say mathematically yes they do but realistically I don’t see them pulling a comeback on this one. Three or more goals at the Atlanta home is something I don’t think they could pull out, I see Liverpool already blew this one already
138  Economy / Economics / Re: Some attributing factors to the high cost of petroleum products in Nigeria on: April 11, 2024, 10:47:40 PM

I don't know why your country's government removed fuel subsidies, but it is clear that as a result fuel prices have become more expensive. The country's political and economic situation allows the government to revoke subsidy regulations or reduce them, but by removing subsidies without anticipatory steps the economy appears to be getting worse. Society will suffer from it, so the situation will not be good.

Personally I see nothing bad in the removal of the subsidy, reason been that the subsidized resources are not been enjoyed alone in the country but also exported out to other neighboring countries and thereby still causing scarcity of the resources to the intended citizens. But the timing and execution of the removal was bad to me. You need to have put many things in order before going ahead on the idea. The first thing is the review of the citizens working Payment, since you are not going to pay more for the subsidy the citizens should get the benefit of it. The second also the most important thing for the removal is to have the countries own refinery so that they can regulate the price of products and not leaving it in the hand of private owners or other countries refineries.
139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 11, 2024, 10:33:26 PM
To me I don't feel that people are looking down on Arsenal just that due to previous seasons that people trusted Arsenal to a certain stage and they started flopping and losing out. Arsenal tried to play draw with Bayern Munich but we all saw that Arsenal could have won had it been they added more effort in the game but however, Arsenal performance recently is convincible because they have maintained a good form for a long time now so they are expected to win a trophy this season if they maintain in this impressive display.

Many Fans are not just looking down on Arsenal but rather they are trying to lessen the amount of disappointment they got las year before it happened again. Arsenal had similar advantage last season and blew it up, although this time around they are going to have to go against not just Manchester city but also Liverpool. With the way they have responded to been behind this season, coming back to win matches, less injury to the first team players when compare to the crisis they have last season at this stage. They seems to have the most difficult matches when compare too with their contenders but if they continue to be consistent just the way they have been playing since the start of the year, they might just get their first league trophy since years
140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: April 11, 2024, 10:15:13 PM
I'm not surprised by this result, as I told you that the favorites don't always win. Atalanta may have caused many people to lose their bet slips today, but they did a great job. Liverpool can now focus on the Premier League rather than thinking about the Europa League. They're done here. They cannot turn around in Italy from 3-0. Good luck to Atalanta in the semi-finals. With Scamacca's two goals and Pasalic, Atalanta achieved a victory at Anfield Road that they will never forget for many years to come. Klopp's substitutions didn't yield results, Gasperini won the match without even making a change.

Majority of people we’re surprised to see the match ending in a comfortable position for Atlanta, the major thing of surprise was the fact that the humbling was at Anfield, yes football is a game of Loss and win, but not any club can boost to go to Anfield to score three goals. The Anfield is more like a sacred place for an opponent win. Now Atlanta can go home with a comfortable lead. Yes I have seen Liverpool overturn a 3-0 result before In European competition but was done in their own stadium. I doubt the same will happen now away from home.

As for the other game, the other English team Westham also lost to the most inform team in the all of Europe, the game was a great one considering how WestHam defended but another master class by Xabi Alonso changed the score. Alonso brought on both Boniface and Hoffman and they both scored the goals which put Alonso boys in a comfortable position coming to Olympic Stadium.
