121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Is Legal In Our Country But if You Promote It Online You'll Go To Jail? on: May 02, 2024, 10:33:26 PM
That's a quite strange law because they are allowing gambling casinos and outlets to work without any restriction but when someone talks about it they will get penalized. If they really don't like gambling then they should take proper actions against the casinos and those lotto outlets, however, i they don't want to do that then they should allow citizens to talk about betting.
Of course the law definitely seems weird. At first sight the image that would likely strike a person's mind is that of which the country is making up that law just to make sure that they are efficiently taxing regular and traditional legal casinos. The law seems to be posing some kind of weird restriction especially for gamblers who are either familiar with online Gambling or prefer it to the traditional Gambling. Therefore it would be kindof difficult for online Gambling lovers to figure out new casinos while still trying to make sure that the casino isn't a scam one.
This is part of the reason why the type of Gambling activity gamblers in a particular location or region tend to prefer is partly dependent on the laws of that region. It won't be surprising to notice that people on such a location would be more familiar with traditional casino Gambling than online Gambling.
122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Use your winning responsibly on: May 02, 2024, 09:44:51 PM
This is the only way to beat the house, get your winnings out and spend it into something else.
Congrats OP and thank you for inspiring us to start making plan and spend our gambling winnings wisely. Its rare to see a gambler think like this, and its actually good. We have to be more responsible, and you can also do this on your winning in trading or any profit that you have made as long as its part of your budget.
Not all gamblers have the decent habit of spending their Gambling wins responsibly. In my opinion I believe that the idea of a gambler spending his wins properly is something that actually depends on the gamblers level of self responsibility. Meaning the more responsible the gambler is the higher the chances of him spending his winnings wisely. On the other hand a person with the habit of wasteful spending will likely spend his wins irresponsibly too.
Another thing that can also contribute to properly spending one's winnings is having a glimpse of positive things one could do with his wins. Or in more simpler terms, having something worth it in mind before you made the win.
123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An aggressive gambler irrelevantly easing his Irresponsible gambling manner. on: May 02, 2024, 09:34:12 PM
During Gambling activities, gamblers are always advised to stake what they can afford to lose. The phrase ( stake what you can afford to lose) is like as fail safe especially in cases of huge losses. This because a majority of Gambling activities require a great percentage of luck therefore logically putting a whole bunch of cash which you can't afford to lose is definitely very wrong. This is even worse in cases where the chances of winning are very thin.
However most of the time greedy gamblers always focus solely on the win forgetting how much they would lost is they lost the bet. This is also because if you observe closely, bets or games and wagers with very thin odds of winning  usually have a bigger target win or jackpot. This is what makes most gamblers end up over staking more than they intend.

125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you cashout or wait for the game to conclude? on: May 01, 2024, 10:15:35 PM
Many people will definitely and easily just prefer to cash out instead of putting the whole of the game at a great risk to ensure a total win. This is infact very logical of a person to do. However their are still a lot of persons out there who are die hard risk takers and won't mind waiting to see if a total win will come true even if the chances of it happening are quite thin.
Most of the time gamblers usually have a goal and possible win expectation during gambling activities. aside from the benefits of being able to track and control ones. Gambling activities, some gamblers prefer to wait patiently till they eventually hit their target however some can easily cash out when they feel it's too much of a risk.
126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you care about what people say about you gambling? on: May 01, 2024, 10:08:12 PM
I do not give a fuck about anyone. But most of my gambling activities are online and in a way most people in public do not even know that I am gambling. Just my friends and people that are very close to me are the ones that know that I am gambling. But if they see me on a land based casino or betting agent shop, they do not give me money and I do not care about their opinion if not in support of gambling.
As awkward as it may seem to some people, gambling activities of most gamblers can actually be affected or influenced by people around them. Most times when a gambler is in the midst of gambling haters, they often try to conceal their frequency during gambling activities however this doesn't appear to be the case where a gambler is in the midst of fellow gambling lovers.
The idea of making ones gambling activities less public is actually made more effective and easy via online gambling. Though some people prefer the physical and traditional gambling methods and casinos, online gambling is definitely more advantageous in terms of flexibility especially for people who usually have little spare time.
127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can You Submit KYC Before You Win Big on: May 01, 2024, 09:58:24 PM
KYC is something a lot of persons try to avoid including gamblers especially because of the risks attached to it. Not all casinos require their users to carry out KYC verification during registration or even after registration. For majority of casinos that make use of KYC, they usually request for it during the gamblers withdrawal point.

Sometimes this KYC requirements and rules of the casino are usually added to their terms of conditions and privacy policies however sometimes people tend to Skip reading through them and just proceed to clicking agree. However a common scenario users also complain about are cases where some casinos easily edit their policies just to meet their requirements.
128  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Blockchain synchronizing issue.... on: May 01, 2024, 06:22:42 AM
I have also experienced a similar issue once sometime ago. There are two possible problems that may have resulted to this issue. Firstly did you check is you had any spent utxo that hadn't been confirmed? This is because sometimes these wallets subtract spent Transaction from your total balance of the HD wallet even if it hasn't been confirmed yet.

Another thing to check for is if after you had imported the seed to another wallet, if all addresses including the change addresses were imported. However most times ,once your wallet has attained total synchronization, they are supposed to appear. Therefore the main reason your balance could be reduced is if a spent Transaction was subtracted.
129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do increased Bitcoin fees benefit anyone else except miners? on: April 30, 2024, 04:10:54 PM
My question is who do these high fees benefit?
Many persons would easily say miners however when you say so, it seems more like referring to solo miners which in this case aren't the main benefactors. In my opinion mining pools benefit the most during periods of high fees this is because it takes quite a lot of hash power to add transactions to the next block and in comparison, only a few solo miners are able to generate such hash power.
Sometimes higher fees can occur with significant increase in price. The truth is a typical Bitcoiner who is not a miner isn't happy about high fees as it can make transactions become extremely uneconomical like the congestion that occured in the last halving block.

Quote
In a Bitcoin transaction you have the sender and receiver of Bitcoin. The sender is the party paying the fee and they are definitely not benefiting from the fee.  The receiver does not pay the fee nor do they receive the fee so they do not benefit either.
As for this a receiver can also pay fees as a way of spending the coins that haven't be confirmed using a larger fee so that the parent transaction (the initial one) gets confirmed faster since the parent  has to be confirmed first before the child this is known as CPFP (child pay for parent)
130  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does it mean the poor can't breath anymore? on: April 30, 2024, 02:00:21 PM
Every user here was once a newbie who gradually ranked up either by airdropped merits plus required activity or earned merit and activity. I am not saying that there are users here that don't attack newbies posts, rather I am saying isn't it better to improve your post quality so it is almost impossible to attack? If you are dishing out real quality, then other user will begin to reckon you. Instead of improving their post quality a majority of newbies would make posts complaining about how higher ranked users are being harsh on them.

In my opinion, by now I will consider posts of complaints as spam because it's more like an excuse newbies make thinking it would help but it doesn't change a damn thing.

Correct without hate words, learn without getting offense and speak with love. By so doing everyone would be welcomed to the community!
Thank you all.
And as for this I would repeat what LoyceV usually says, which is learn to grow a thicker skin. why let someone you can't see and you don't even know piss you off?
131  Other / Meta / Re: What is the Impact of Accurate Reporting on User Profiles on: April 29, 2024, 02:39:05 PM
In don't think when we use the report to moderator button we are actually reporting the user's profile, rather you are reporting the user's post. In my opinion I believe the most important thing about that function is that is makes it easier for moderators to spot spam posts and also making them more efficient in noticing them. If your reports are usually valid, moderators tend to take your reports into consideration better over time. I think it creates more of a positive reputation for you to the moderators mainly, instead of a public reputation like the regular trust feedbacks.

However if a user's is frequently reported, overtime the moderators tend to notice and easily move posts from such users to the off topic section or in some cases even nuke them

133  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: We need to support honest developers programming Open Source programs on: April 28, 2024, 06:03:45 PM
Nice compilation. Open source programs and softwares are the real definition of giving the user full control and authority over everything going on in the program especially at the back end. With hacks and , phishing and malwares flooding the internet, open source programs give users the Sense and power to totally control their privacy and data safety.

i do agree with your Topic but why u dont start to support Bitcointalk forum 1st by buying a Copper membership
Then start to support other things around   Shocked
I really don't think copper membership is a huge support to the forum. If you really wish to support the forum you could do that by making donations to;
  • TALKImg by joker_jouse
  • BPIP managed by LoyceV and Suchmoon
  • Or Bitcoin talk super notifier bot by TryNinja
134  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: bech32 addresses vs. bech32m addresses: which ones are cheaper for tx? on: April 28, 2024, 05:42:22 PM
---------
OP isn't talking about nested segwit addresses that start with 3.
OP's question is about segwit version 0 and segwit version 1.

Segwit version 0 addresses are those that start with bc1q. They are also called bech32 addresses.
Segwit version 1 addresses are those that start with bc1p. They are also called bech32m or taproot addresses.
Thanks for the heads up
Initially I was of the opinion that bech32 addresses were all the same. Anyways I have a few questions to help me better understand this entire concept.
Overall which of the bech32 addresses are best in terms of minimizing transaction fees? Because from what Charles-Tim explained he made mention of the fact that bech32 version 0 is more economical when it comes to transactions with Large outputs. However I don't really get how bech32m version 1 has an edge over the bech32 version 0 address when it comes to consolidation.
135  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: bech32 addresses vs. bech32m addresses: which ones are cheaper for tx? on: April 28, 2024, 03:35:21 PM
The SEGWIT protocol actually saves transaction fees by occupying a smaller unit of block space during transactions. This is done segregating the witness data. Since the implementation of the SEGWIT protocol, I am aware of mainly 2 types of SEGWIT addresses.
  • SEGWIT compatible which was the earliest form of SEGWIT addresses they usually begin with 3
  • The native SEGWIT which is the most popular and economical Bitcoin address. It usually begins with bc
I am aware of sweeping your wallet from probably a legacy address to a SEGWIT address however I haven't actually come across an article talking about an address morph or upgrade.

137  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Lost Data on: April 27, 2024, 08:22:13 PM
Which wallet did he use? Electrum, Bitcoin Core, Exodus, another one? I things happened in the way you say, it's concerning. Because if I understand correctly, he just made a format by mistake. It means missing files have been formatted, so if he's unable to retrieve them, they are very likely to have been formatted, and not just deleted or sent to the trashcan.
I think from what the Op explained , his friend actually lost the data via a format not a regular deletion. If it was simply a case of data deletion, the op could simply get the files back from his recycle bin. Another option is if the op previously had a pre saved restore point on his windows system. With that he could easily make use of the restore point feature to get back data he lost from the format via a pre saved restore point.
I think there are other technically methods of retrieving lost data from an hard drive however I don't have any experience about the processs. As for the wallet, if the op made use of something like Electrum, the keys and seed phrases would be  encrypted making it unable to be retrieved via simple means like a that of a pre saved txt file with the phrase and keys.
138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lies told to cover up gambling habit on: April 27, 2024, 08:10:04 PM
Hiding your gambling activities or lying about it could sometimes be a sign of gambling addiction. Like if you come to think of it , why hide something if it's right or doesn't have something more to it ? One of the biggest issues of hiding gambling activities from the people around you especially family members is when they eventually find out without you breaking the news to them before then. Majority of the they view it as a scenario where the feel they are distrusted by the gambler.

This can cause relationship and emotional issues. Also , as a responsible gambler I don't think you should measure the love you have for your loved ones like your wife with the amount of fun you have when you gamble except you are probably an addict.
139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Understanding the Impact of Social Media in Gambling. on: April 27, 2024, 07:59:57 PM
That is the more reason why gambling shouldn't be hidden from the young ones and most people basically practice anything they see online more especially when they come from celebrities or influencers that is the reason why people need to educate their children with proper knowledge of the things happening around them so that when they hear it outside, they won't be misled or misinformed.
Generally hiding things from young ones is a very wrong move. This is because the younger generation tend to be very inquisitive and therefore will go almost any length to sought for even things you try to hide from them. These things in turn could impact negative effects on them this because in such case they have very little or no experience and therefore could easily fall victims.
Instead of hiding things like gambling from them especially in this era where the internet carries a lot of information, it is better to explain it to them so that they would be fully aware of the dos and don'ts making difficult for them to easily fall victims of situations like gambling addiction.
140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your favorite to lose slot game on: April 27, 2024, 07:54:13 PM
I don't usually like playing slots but if I go to a brick and mortar casino with friends looking for fun and they venture over to the slots I will play some.  The only one I like playing is the wheel of fortune slot. I don't like the slots with so many things going on that I don't even know what it takes to win at.  And the wheel of fortune one brings back memories, I always play hoping to get to spin the wheel.   Seems to pay out more than the others too.
Every gambler has his individual preference to different games for their different reasons. This reason differ from difficulty to luck to even wagers. So gamblers prefer games like sports predictions where luck has a greater advantage. Some others prefer casino games where analysis and experience has a greater advantage.
Sometimes the casino it self can also contribute to how much interest their users put into some of their certain games. In some casinos the wheel of fortune slots has bigger and fancier wagers while in some the odds and benefits aren't very attractive.
