122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient Proof of HDD Capacity Mining | No IPO, No Pre on: August 16, 2014, 03:49:11 PM

For those, who want to trade BURST, I've created the BURST Gataway on Nxt Asset Exchange (AE):

Asset Name: 1000BURST

Asset ID: 251006016744564741

Each one asset represents 1000 BURST coins.

In order to sell your BURTS coins on AE, first you need to get 1000BURST asset. To do this just send your BURST coins to the BURTS Gateaway address BURST-MCHC-LBKK-ZLZY-C3XL5 _and_ send an Arbitrary Message containing your NXT address (in alpha-numeric format) to the same address.
(I'll send 5 NXT along with a 1000BURST assets to depositors who do not have any NXT, so that they will be able to place orders)

To guarantee smooth withdrawals, the amount of the 1000BURST assets in circulation will always be less then the balance of the BURTS Gateaway address (BURST-MCHC-LBKK-ZLZY-C3XL5).
No sell orders from the issuing account will be placed.

To withdraw your 1000BURST assets you should transfer them to this issuing account (NXT-VVTV-U25N-U2FY-2V35H) _and_ in the attached message place your BURST address (in alpha-numeric format).

Deposit/Withdrawal time: 12 hours max., usually much faster.

Fees: currently 1% Deposits (0% for first 5 deposits), 1% Withdrawals (subject to change).

Minimum Deposit: 1000 BURST  (subject to change)

Minimum Withdrawal: 1000 BURST  (subject to change)

To trade on AE without local Nxt client you can use one of the public Nxt nodes:

http://217.17.88.5:7876/          http://vps4.nxtcrypto.org:7876/
http://vps8.nxtcrypto.org:7876/   http://nxt.ravensbloodrealms.com:7876/
https://miasik.no-ip.org:7876/    https://162.243.145.83:7876/

or use http://www.SecureAE.com/ web platform.

You can buy some BURST coins (1000BURST assets) at Asset Exchange directly for BTC via http://www.SecureAE.com/ , or with NXT coins.
You can get some NXT for fiat at instant automated exchange https://coinomat.com/ , or at CCEDK exchange (including North European currencies), or at p2p exchange https://nxtex.net/ (for PayPal, like at Localbitcoins). Or you can use cryptoexchanges like https://www.cryptsy.com/, https://poloniex.com/ ,  https://hitbtc.com/ .

Happy BURST trading!

For those who do not aware: the trading at Asset Exchange is safe and trustless, because the trade occurs in a single transaction.
And Asset Exchange cannot be suspended (like DGex) or hacked (like BTer), or collapsed (like shareXcoin).

The only threat is that the issuer can refuse to withdraw. But I will not, please check my profiles at BTT (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=147961) and nxtforum (https://nxtforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=15),
also you can check the volume of the similar FIMK Gateway: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=633304.msg8097620#msg8097620

This is a very good start!! Thank you for adding.

Is is possible to get pre compiled Windows wallets ? We might get more people/tester involved to this project.

question for DEV

how to backup BURSTcoin wallet?
i see nothing under \appData\Roaming

thanks!

There is no backup.
Keep your passphrase long (>35 characters random generated) and *REMEMBER* it  Roll Eyes
BTW: I am not the DEV.

This!
Thank you again Smiley

Now getting deadlines around 100,000

Good, happy mining  Wink
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient Proof of HDD Capacity Mining | No IPO, No Pre on: August 16, 2014, 11:50:30 AM
Already plotted from 0 to 700000 Smiley

Thanks, i will give it a try

Edit:
Still Deadlines around 1,000,000

Try raising the  "-Xmx2000m" value.

1.000.000 might happen which is normal with the current diff.
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient Proof of HDD Capacity Mining | No IPO, No Pre on: August 16, 2014, 11:40:41 AM
"C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Xmx3000m -cp pocminer.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer.POCMiner generate Acc# 700000 900000 2000 8 (Its still plotting)

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\java -Xmx750m -cp pocminer.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer.POCMiner mine "http://127.0.0.1:8125"%*

You are generating the plots with java 64bit and mining with 32bit.

Try:

"C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Xmx3000m -cp pocminer.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer.POCMiner generate Acc# 700000 900000 2000 8 (Its still plotting)

"C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Xmx2000m -cp pocminer.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer.POCMiner mine "http://127.0.0.1:8125"%*
or (depending on your ram)
"C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Xmx1000m -cp pocminer.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer.POCMiner mine "http://127.0.0.1:8125"%*

And: why are you using "700000 900000" ? Just asking.
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient Proof of HDD Capacity Mining | No IPO, No Pre on: August 16, 2014, 11:33:30 AM
Mining finally on 250 Gb of space. But keep getting Deadlines between 300,000 and 2,0000,000

Is this normal? Someone with the same amount of space got the same deadlines?

2,0000,000 is high, even for this diff. I have not seen this before (using 8 different disks) but others might.

What was your plot generation command and what is your miner command ?
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient Proof of HDD Capacity Mining | No IPO, No Pre on: August 16, 2014, 11:25:30 AM
Alright everyone, I seem some real potential here with Burst, therefore I'm going to do a redesign of the current wallet UI + a new logo for Burst. I think that's it's essential to move away from the default NXT UI and distance ourselves from their UI as much as possible. I'll have something ready by tonight to show you guys Smiley

Thanx for your effort. We need more community members like you!
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient Proof of HDD Capacity Mining | No IPO, No Pre on: August 16, 2014, 11:22:24 AM
4 days laters and still no blocks, I have a 500gb hdd just for this and the mining bat is running i check my web and it still says no blocks but everyone else is getting them

Ive got to be doing something wrong.

Describe your exact steps you have done to set this up.

If you see something like below in your mining windows you are mining " correctly" :

{"height":"1835","generationSignature"

Also remember to log in to the wallet using your *pass* you put into the "passphrase" file.

Who got block 1813 ? BURST-2LGM-MPKF-Y7DM-8BTBY ?

Nice catch!

Search this address in this thread, we have already spoken about that account!! It's a whale  Cheesy
Yep, I knew who he was once I saw 2LGM (legend says he has a petabyte)

Who knows, maybe it's the DEV. If so, he deserves this. And if it is anyone else, i do envy you!  Wink
Do not hesitate to share your setup!

Alright, I have come up with another question...

I have a system with 3 2TB drives in it. I am currently plotting them all, my question is this... Do I need to run multiple copies of the miner? Or will the one miner see all 3 drives? Right Now I have 3 copies running and it seems to work, but yea, I would like to know if I actually have to do that or not.

Thanks!

you can use mklink in windows or ln -s in linux, to mapping files in just one drive, then you can just open one miner.

If you are going to use one miner with different plot files be sure to NOT use overlapping nonces.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient Proof of HDD Capacity Mining | No IPO, No Pre on: August 15, 2014, 12:54:10 AM
I Guess akula999 found his way around after PM.
Well, i wish him luck!

Edit: Confirmed: He is up and running and generating plots.
Thanks crypto, after many "pissed off" moments, i've sort of figured it out - thanks to you!
When/If I find a block, i will send some your way. Hopefully I'll find something.

Eventually everyone finds a few blocks. The bigger your plot file, the better.

Still interested in buying, but I can't seem figure out how many coins in total supply, so I'm not sure of a fair price.

I was offered 40K for .1BTC, but for my calculations that is a 1MM market cap, which is overvalued.

Anyone willing to come in at 100K market cap for .1BTC?

Good luck mate in finding such an offer! This  will be hard to find.

Why?

Burst is a brand new coin, with a difficult to setup wallet. Why would it be valued at above, lets say, Vertcoin, at 700K USD?

Everyone that is currently mining accomplished that with the help of the community. The coin is just a few days old and on ANN we are @page 74!

The setup is indeed a bit hard but once you get the hang of it it's simple and makes expanding a piece of cake.
Anyone here is having fun with the setup. You won't be able to buy the fun they have at that price.

But, look around the previous posts. there are quite some members willing to sell (but not at that price).
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient Proof of HDD Capacity Mining | No IPO, No Pre on: August 15, 2014, 12:34:59 AM
i was hoping that restarting wouldn't impact mining

is there a way to tell your hash rate , to compair setting or from my computer to a better computer

Every nounce you've created is a hash so hashrate is defined by available plots, machine power doesn't really matter, faster hdd does a bit but my machine scans 3 TB in about 2 minutes (i7 with two normal 2 tb drives) with cpu running at 10% and hdd at 80% xD
That seems horribly slow. I'm using a few external USB3 2TB hdds using stagger of 8191, and it takes about 15 seconds to scan. What type/inteface drives and what stagger are you using?

I like to share a little tool I wrote to increase stagger size for already finished plots. No more 8191 limit!

Its simple C code - for linux only - its short, so check & compile yourself.

https://bchain.info/merge.c

It does not hold everything in memory but seeks on disk to get the scoops.
This is a great idea, but I'm not sure your implementation is right. Why are you subtracting bytes in the size in the pread and write statements, and adding bytes in the offsets?

YEAH!! Dev is online.

What is you OS? 32 or x64. If x64, have you installed java for x64 ?
What drive is your 1.5TB ?
You have 16 GB memory? Please confirm.

16GB Ram, showing 13 GB free
Win7 64 Bit
How do i tell which version of java i have (64 or 32). When I do version check i get version 7 rev 67

I asked you to send me a PM. Running around the thread won't help you getting this up and running in a decent time.
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient Proof of HDD Capacity Mining | No IPO, No Pre on: August 14, 2014, 11:49:29 PM
This coin needs to be simplified. GUI?

I sorta like it the way it is, for now anyway. It limits the amount of people who can mine, so I can get more! lol. But yea, eventually, to gain popularity, there probably should be some sort of simplified installation method, and GUI miner.

yeah, but I've been mining for 2 days - Nothing found.
I have a 1.5 TB drive
I have a 1 TB drive
and I have a 500 MB drive
All 3 separate miners - nothing...

Could you sent some more info/ screenshots ?

Let's start simple - 1TB drive (the 500MB and the 1.5TB have files on them. The 1TB is a clean format with nothing on it).
This is what i'm using:
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\java -Xmx1000m -cp pocminer.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer.POCMiner generate 8421357914186441531 0 8194 500 7
pause

To add, the system has 8GB Ram

Us this and I guruntee results...it may take a bit, but it will work 100%

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\java -Xmx750m -cp pocminer.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer.POCMiner generate 8421357914186441531 0 1600000 500 5
pause

There is no reason that generate_run command should not have your 500 gig drive plotting just fine, then do the same with a different account # on the 1TB drive, and when it is done, then run the same command but replace the 0 with 1600001, and the 1600000 with 3200000...

Yup, capping to 750 should help but *if* you have x64 you could go way faster in generating plots.
