121  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Is Investing into crypto really safe? on: June 01, 2024, 12:53:07 AM
Bro I would not say that your not right cause in general all investment bears its risk and we only do it because of potential future gain that we can see, and its good to make informed decisions based on performance of this asset that we chose to invest in, in our case bitcoin or any other crypto currency, since its been generalised I won't use the stats of one to cover all, but I'll say that it all matters on your approach, there are many successful investors in the crypto industry and history and they all have one thing in common they were long term holders, so I'll advice you to follow long term holding if you want to make profit from crypto with little stress on your emotions about risk, cause as historical performance permits, crypto currency and assets in general gains value over time or lose value over time and there are many factors that cause this, and one of them is scarcity which bitcoin is a very good example, with only 21 million total supply, but would continue to be scarce as time goes on, so if you want to invest chose bitcoin and for sure as a long term investor you would be on the winning side
122  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Patience is not enough for hodling Bitcoin on: June 01, 2024, 12:44:16 AM
Sir I would even say an amount of comfort is needed, cause you are investing in bitcoin what if an emergency occurs and the cash at hand is not enough to do it and its of high importance, won't you sell that you retirement plan and solve a major problem first. I'm not saying that average perosns can't invest oh, what I'm saying is that comfort is also important. And how do you have this comfort as an average investor, is to build up emergency funds, cause one thing wey dey disturb plan na unforseen  events, so if your already prepared for things like this, the n your bitcoin holdings are 50% safe, the  we can add other things like discipline, income raise and all others
123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shops now accept BTC on: June 01, 2024, 12:42:39 AM
Ive never seen any firms accepting bitcoin or any crypto currency unless this would be owned by private individuals that love or have a vision in crypto, I'll like to know which country that this is currently happening and how they achieved it, yeah I remember a person on this forum saying once that he started accepting bitcoin as payment for his fashion business online, I don't know how legitimate legitimate was.
124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin the Dumbest Thing Ever Invented on: June 01, 2024, 12:41:38 AM
What a sick joke, how is bitcoin dumb, I guess you prefer a currency that woudl always suffer inflation and you like beigk under the subject of the government nosing around every transaction and asset you have, then you free to leave, no one forced you to be on this forum, you can go join the nocoiners on Reddit or what ever group they are and leave a bitcoin related forum in peace.
125  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is It Time to Buy More BTC? on: June 01, 2024, 12:39:16 AM
I also have a question for you, do you have enough bitcoin or how well have you been accumulating bitcoin if you haven't then it's time to buy bitcoin and the price of bitcoin should be the least of your concern now, consider using the DCA strategy if you are  beginner you can worry less about volatility with it .
126  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin Price is Down Today? on: June 01, 2024, 12:35:25 AM
Supply and demand is what dictates the price of bitcoin, so if bitcoin is up in price it means there is high demand of bitcoin and little supply which means there would have to buy bitcoin at a higher price and when price is low it means there is enough bitcoin and little demand so the price gets low, selling and buying is what tips the scale of the supply and demand law, you see bitcoin had a fixed supply and can't suffer inflation so when much people are holding bitcoin it affects the available supply and causes scarcity which in turn makes price soar for buyers cause no one wants to realese his to them and vice versa.
127  Economy / Speculation / Re: Every moments of bitcoin value is appreciable for investors on: June 01, 2024, 12:31:24 AM
There is no best time to invest I bitcoin for a beginner and jts best to just buy your first portion of bitcoin and after you have matured as an investor then you can start practicing dip buy, most early investors are scared of the volatility of bitcoin so its best they use the DCA strategy that protects them from market volatility since they would be buying at every market price interval, so it's a beginner friendly strategy to start your bitcoin journey.
128  Economy / Speculation / Re: The attractiveness of Bitcoin among my friends on: June 01, 2024, 12:24:52 AM
Personally I don't like introducing people to bitcoin or be the one to teach them, I'll only show them to a good source of information and have them make that decision on their own and if they carry on to ask me how do I start then I can take the lead and put them through, my experience with people has bern awful cause a friend of mine I introduced had little patient to wait for the price of bitcoin to go back up and sold at a lose and I felt bad for it, although then I had little knowledge like know and couldn't be much help to him.
129  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Waiting go happen to our money? crypto currency dey face trouble for Nigeria. on: June 01, 2024, 12:18:00 AM
The only major issue here is the fact that we can't easily change our crypto to fait and most if us here do a lot of transactions weekly or daily with crypto to fait, but on the bright side we can hold our bitcoin for longer since it is now a little more difficult to touch it.

Anyway why I can't panic is cause the government can only try what they can to stop us from exchanging our bitcoin or crypto but can't shut the system down cause they don't have such power or control over it, I believe that this is just temporary and would be free with time, my annoyance is that the so called currency is still depreciating in value despite all their false effort, the problem isn't crypto it is cause they printed so much new money and it affected the total circulation of naira and in turn reduced its value so much. Let them face the fact and solve the problem as they should.

131  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: June 01, 2024, 12:09:53 AM
Diversifying one's investments is indeed an amazing strategy but just as you've rightly stated, filling one's bag with shitcoins isn't the best way to diversify, whoever tells you it is, is simply lying to you or is naive.
There are real life assets that also have long-term potentials just like bitcoin and you can consider those other options to diversify. Gold is an amazing option, it's been in the market, even long before bitcoin came into existence, and you can also consider it for its long-term potentials too just like bitcoin.
In China today, Silver is also a hot cake and quite a viable option for investment diversification.

There are so many of them to be considered.

Fuck gold and silver and the idea diversifying.

Figure out your bitcoin plan first, and then maybe if you have accumulated a decent amount of bitcoin, then maybe at some point it might become justifiable to diversify, but talking about diversification into gold and/or silver makes it sound like you are pumping inferior products and trying to compare them to bitcoin when bitcoin is likely in the ballpark of 1000x better then each of them...so no need to discuss any particulars of them or to pump them, especially here in this thread when we are talking about bitcoin.
I think you must've misunderstood my point...
I'm not trying to say diversifying from Bitcoin to other assets like gold and silver is an option, let alone being a better option.

No!

No!!

Noooo!!!

All I'm trying to say is that, for those who have indeed accumulated a good number of Bitcoin and are considering diversification, rather than filling their bags with variety of shitcoins which are totally unsafe and highly risky, it would be a lot more preferable and justifiable to even consider investing on real life assets that guarantees the safety of one's finance, and have a good track record or longevity and long-term potentials, but that doesn't mean gold's potential could be compared to Bitcoin, because bitcoin has undoubtedly proven to be the most profitable and safest asset to invest in.

The probem here isn't that gold or silver isnt a good asset and if its about track record gold has been a very good option for a very long time even longer than bitcoin, but where you are getting it wrong is thinking of diversifying, the question you should ask yourself is can I afford to build a good stash in both asset, then if not you should focus one building up your stash in bitcoin and when it's has gotten to at least a year of your living expense then you can consider diversification.

The problem with early diversification is that you would end up having little of so many asset neglecting the law of concentration which means you gain wealth from building one asset and maintain it from diversifying, so diversification is not a good option for someone trying to build wealth.
132  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin reach another new ATH before the bull run begins? on: May 31, 2024, 12:19:45 AM
As of now we are already in the bull run and bitcoin continues to consolidate between 70k and 60k and I don't know if ots just resistance to take us into 80k and anyway I'm feeling that bitcoin woudl hit far bigger price range than we expected and this bull run still has a lot of fire and lifespan till we see another bear.
133  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy BTC sold for 16 BTC-1 mil USD on: May 31, 2024, 12:17:36 AM
Rich people really do not know how to spend their money, I mean why would you want to buy something like this? I get that it's bitcoin history, but it is not even that much of a big history of bitcoin at all. In fact, I would say that buying this for a million dollars is a bigger history of bitcoin then the paper itself, doesn't really make sense to me that it would be something this big and I would say anything more than one bitcoin is way too much for this.

I am not saying that I would pay that much, I know that it won't and the resell value of this is nothing, I am just saying even if I had billions, the most I would pay for this would be just one bitcoin and nothing more than that, it doesn't really make sense otherwise.
For those who buy Bitcoin with that amount of money, this is quite courageous, because basically Bitcoin is a digital currency that does not have a physical form and has a very high risk which could result in the assets we own being lost if not used. take care of it well and correctly. But the benefits offered from Bitcoin are also very large because basically Bitcoin still has the opportunity to become very expensive more than this.
It doesn't require much courage to but bitcoin, beside bitcoin is one of the best asset in the world right now and all those that have gotten in are still blind or haven't realised that bitcoin is a better store of value and currency that faits, I Don't want to dive into all the importance and difference between both of them
134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who's winning more casinos or gamblers? on: May 31, 2024, 12:13:51 AM
The truth is casinos have the upper hand at the game cause they have more options to win from than you, if you pick a wrong game the casino wins, I you pick another wrong selection they win so yeah they have a lot of winning options and you have only one winning option or two per match, so yeah they have the upper hand at it.
135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did gambling losses are traps to new game on: May 31, 2024, 12:11:14 AM
All I know is chasing loses is bad and can result to lose of more funds, it should be controlled and its not right you use pressure from loses to try to gain your money back cause your emotions are not right for you to make right decisions.
136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: suspected case of football betting fraud in Italy on: May 31, 2024, 12:08:52 AM
He got caught then h3 must be punished, who knows how ming he has been getting away with that, I think it's cheating cause some players can even go as far as intentionally losing a match or playing in a way to favour their bets and I believe odds are administered based on difficulty of an event occurring but some players can rig that since they are in control of those events.
137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Understanding the Emergence of Crypto Gambling on: May 31, 2024, 12:05:12 AM
What I like about crypto gambling is the privacy since we don't need to provide personal details like debit and credit cards payment do or even fiat. Crypto value our privacy as a bettor but the only thing here is that when we create accounts on gambling platforms I think that will always require KYC. Fully decentralized casinos are I think telegram casinos though I haven't tried one yet but some say it is risky as well.

Yoir right crypto has helped innovate thigns a little, not only has privacy been increased but problems of funding your account from anywhere in the world that crypto is not banned you can do that seamlessly and easily without having to worri about bank networks or all those headaches.
138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling bad to the society? on: May 31, 2024, 12:02:43 AM
I bin any uncontrolled situation becomes a neusance, if gamblers get to a point that they ate too many addicts and they start to be a problem to the environment then the government may be forced to see them as bad and might even set up a law against gambling, do yeah I think if everything gets out of hand and so many suicide here and there and many teenagers getting in or worse then it's becomes bad like every other addiction.
139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greediness or Addiction -which one is more disastrous? on: May 30, 2024, 11:58:46 PM
Greediness is nothing compared to addiction ss a disaster, greed is just a tendency and might nit always be the case or the reason behind loss, but addiction is worse cause you are always in a situation where you can act Greedily every day and end up ruin yourself.
140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who says you can't be a millionaire in sports betting? on: May 30, 2024, 11:55:42 PM
You cant just jump into conclusions or start a thread cause of excitement, most people would never tell you how much they have lost, if it was so east then everyone should be posting it everyday, he just got luck and it's a good news to him nothing to be aroused about and if you don't hold yourself you would end up gambling too much thinking that people can't still post fake slips.
