I like the reactor idea as well, but a decentralized approach should be taken, otherwise it is bad for the spreading of coins and creates a single point of failure, which is never good in networking. Something like a premium address with a higher staking rate.

Another thing that bothers me is the following:
Let's say I bought some BTC in the past for a much higher price and I still hold them because I believe in it longterm. Now I want to buy cloudminig shares with my BTC and I get punished, because I only get credit for it's momentarly price in USD. I think this is a design flaw, because it punishes longterm BTC holders when BTC/USD is low.

In my opinion it would be better to enable fiat investments totally, or grant for example 500 cloudmining shares for each BTC, no matter how much $ it is worth at the moment.

P.S. DMD is great, I will hold my coins Smiley

Another thing that makes me wonder is, what source of power is the cloudmining service using? In my household for example, I have a contract with a so called Ökostrom-Provider, delivering power only from renewable energy sources like wind, water and photovoltaic power.

Just have to say, if we want to be the future, there has to be a future worth living for, that's a point we should keep in mind, for ourselves and our children. And if the global temperature rises by 3° C or more, we will have bigger problems than financial or currency issues.

My trust in cryptonit is also unchanged and the whole trust system is not really transparent, probably I would have made the same mistake. Get over it. Personally I think cryptonit is a good DMD community manager, because not everything is perfectly polished including his english. If something seems too good to be true, it naturally makes one suspicious. Hence, I think he should remain on this position for some time longer, because everybody recognizes his dedication and that is not something that comes easily.

Serious people still like to collect and trade things, look at real coins or stamps. Would you consider those people, who like to collect them unserious?

Today I have been thinking about Diamondcoins success and I have came up with a thing or two. First of all Diamondcoin needs to feel like a real treasure and it's name and the graphics in use are already doing a good job, but there is more to be done, like two factor auth. Furthermore it needs an instant use for it's supporters.

Now we have some Diamondcoins sitting in our wallets and they generate a few coins within an uncertain amount of time and that is totally fine, but actually I can not buy many real things and the need to trade them with others is really low. In my opinion this should change, because a relativly small number of people stacking up their wallets will not help Diamondcoin to succeed and it is boring.

My idea is quite simple, we should create subsets of diamond coins, let's call them "fancy diamond coins" and each of them still has a value of 1 DMD. Let's say there are 256 different fancy diamond coins. All DMDs created by PoW are normal, but as soon as they beginn to mint, they become a fancy diamond coin with a certain color and shape. Now we would need some kind of trade channel in the Diamond Wallet, where people could trade their randomly generated fancy DMDs with the goal to collect all different kinds of them, to form a "full set of diamonds" which could lead to all kinds of benefits, like slightly higher gains in PoS, lower fees in PoW pools and of course, great reputation in the community.

Well, if you read the official Grøstl Hash function website, one recognizes that the FH-Wiesbaden developed Grøstl FPGAs in 2009.
And if you continue reading, Mr. Stefan Tillich already developed an ASIC for that hash function not much later. The question is, if those technologies already have been sold, or rebuilt in some way.

My first assumption would be, that there exists only a small number of FPGAs and ASICs in educational environments and the difficulty fluctuations are some kind of "scare tactics" from somebody with huge GPU hashing power.

I don't need the Shoutbox really much, I think more important for the pool would be a working download section, maybe even with preconfigured batch-profiles, as less tech savy people are not able to put these things togehter.

Hello miningfield, thank you for polishing your pools around the world! My 290X is already crunshing numbers in EU, just like before Smiley
I am already considering a donation, if the pool remains stable for some time, I will do it for sure. Keep up the good work guys!

My card spits out around 24.x Mh/s, I hope that qualifies for using the 3388 port, I don't want to belong to the lamers on 3387 Wink

Difficulty close to 250, that is a quite steep rise. Could that be some kind of Diff. Pump?

Redownloading windows wallet solved the issue. imho it would have been better to release a version 2.0.4.1, that would have kept things clearly.

Maybe it would be a wise decision to use a power saver kernel in summer, to enhance your graphics card lifetime and a more power version in winter to keep your feet warm Smiley

Pallas, you are great!

Here are my numbers:
290x @ 1125 Mhz ~ 26,4 Mh/s
290x @ 1040 Mhz ~ 24,4 Mh/s

I am going to send you 20% of the next ten blocks I will find,
just because I want to donate to an honest and sharing person.

To use the bin file correctly, you have to remove all bin files in the main folder, download pallas bin file, put it into the main folder,
start your miner, copy the filename of your automatically created bin file after you started the miner. Then you stop the miner and rename pallas bin-file with the copied filename.

From my observations following nodes are doing unusual things:

173.246.103.92:17771
192.75.207.148:17771

I am getting warnings for outgoing connections from Diamond-Qt.exe to 98.142.248.233 as well.

I also had to rebuild the blockchain today.

Btw. what are the exact needs for the Design Contest?
