Been 12 days now and I still haven't received my card within Europe. I guess it could be my lousy postal service ;/

Where are you based? It usually takes about a week within Europe,  might be local postal service issue
122  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin debit card on: February 02, 2015, 02:52:44 PM
sorry but if you store fiat on the card than calling it a bitcoin card is false advertising.

it's the same as selling bitcoins on an exchange and withdrawing to a bank where you have a debit card.
It's instant in our case
123  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin debit card on: February 01, 2015, 10:07:47 AM
when can we expect euro cards to go live? and if i was to use a $ card in the EU, what sort of charges can i expect aside from the normal 2% deposit fee? also, is there a withdraw fee if i want to remove bitcoins from the card?

thanks.

We expect euro and GB pound cards to be available in a month.
If you pay by your usd card in euros (or any other currency) the standard conversion fee (usd to euro) of 3% applies. As per ATM withdrawals the fee is 2.75euro/3.50usd per withdrawal.

Hope it helps.

Hi there,
I am on my way to order one of your USD debit card. I am already using the Xapo one. Do you have any ETA for the Multiple currency one. This is the one I would prefer as I am based in Switzerland

we are planning to start shipping multi-currency cards in a couple of months
124  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin debit card on: February 01, 2015, 09:45:15 AM
cool. what sort of security is being put into practice to prevent theft of bitcoins?

at the moment we've got

  • Two Factor Authentication
  • SSL
  • Cold Storage
  • Timeout for idle sessions

also we are planning to start using multi-signature client wallets to improve our security even further
125  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin debit card on: February 01, 2015, 09:10:35 AM
lol all this sounds great in practice and all and some of the points you made do have valid merrits behind them, but trust me if the pre load concept is going to be crap like the ANX Premium mastercard i have then it will be a pain in the ass to wait 36 hours minimal if you deposit bitcoin during middle of week with no holidays  Lips sealed

BTC -> CARD transfer is instant.
just out of curiosity: does it really take that long to load anx card?

ok thanks am i able to pre-order a EUR card? Smiley 3 actually. one for me and 2 other people i know want one.

You are welcome.
We suggest to create an account and we let you know when EUR cards are available to order.
Unfortunately, you can't order three EUR cards per account, only three in different currencies (EUR/USD/GBP).

ok, and do the cards convert to FIAT when bitcoins are sent to the card or when a transactions is done using the card?

currently we convert bitcoins to FIAT when you send them to the card, it also might be very useful when you want to lock bitcoin price (e.g. if price of bitcoin goes down) - all you need to do is to transfer bitcoin to your card and then, if you want, you can transfer FIAT back to bitcoins (e.g. if price goes up).
Note: card ->bitcoins transfer is coming soon

Just talked to issuing bank, "verified by visa" is not available yet, but they are planning to enable it very soon

Is this Card works in India, no other cards are working in India currently, like OKPay card etc...  So can you confirm, is this card works in India or Not

Unfortunately we cannot deliver cards to India. That is a limitation of the issuing bank, apparently caused by regulations in India

Does it work in Australia?
Yes, it does
135  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin debit card on: January 23, 2015, 08:40:59 PM
keep us updated on the the progress for this card is going and also if your conversion issue has been fixed, any other information on wait times, fees, activation process will be good as well and how easy it is to us in real life every day shopping / spending

The issues I reported with the site earlier where indeed fixed. Activation is easy as can be (just enter last 4 digits of your card, thats it).
Ive not made a lot of purchases with the card yet, but its a visa card, and such will work pretty much anywhere visa debit cards are accepted. Still havent requested a pin, may do that next week.

Fees are as explained on the site, quite low IMO. Of course its a dollar card so I probably incur relatively high conversion fees when buying euro stuff, but thats not their fault, and should be fixed when euro cards become available.

So, they can exchange your BTC only at Dollars? Why? I think that this card multi currency, is not?

it's not at the moment, but it will in the future
136  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin debit card on: January 23, 2015, 03:23:03 PM
Log in problem is solved, but now withdrawing seems broken. I can enter any bitcoin or any dollar amount, but it doesnt calculate the conversion or total and I cant proceed to "review transaction".  Both fields show "required"

oh, and I tried disabling 2F and got greeted by "No HTTP resource was found that matches the request URI 'https://api.e-coin.io/api/twoFactorAuthentication/deactivateTwoFactorAuthentication/'."
disabling did work though

Should be fine now

139  Local / Бизнес / Re: Биткоин дебит карта on: January 20, 2015, 04:23:06 PM

Visa.

140  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin debit card on: January 20, 2015, 09:19:43 AM
I logged in the account but I did not find the button to withdraw BTC to another wallet address, I found only to withdraw to the card, also, no button for trading?

I believe that's under the 'Transfers' menu link

BTW I think the logout timeout is a bit too fast, i use pretty long passwords and it's a bit of a PITA while waiting for transfers. I know this is for security reasons, but I'm more than capable to click the logout button if I leave my computer unattended.

lol i know it seems like logs out in like 5 minutes they should add option where people can determine how long each session last and for those who want take out money can have like text sms or code sent to email for taking out money

we've increased log out timeout for 15 mins now.
it's a good idea to make it configurable, will definitely  add this feature
