Kryptoradio are broadcasting blockchain data in a 7.5kbps channel on the UHF band using the DVB-T1(or possibly)T2 codec in Finland.  Using the Digital Radio Mondiale codec you could broadcast =>7.1kbps over a 5kHz channel on SW/MW/LW.  Although renting SW transmitter broadcast time costs around $25k per month for 24/7/365 broadcasts.  5kHZ though is about a quarter of the bandwidth that current AM radio broadcast stations use on MW or LW.

Ireland's RTE Long Wave radio station on 252kHz is to close down this January.  That's 18kHz of bandwidth that could cover all of the British Isles and reach all it's 68Million people from a single transmitter.  Plus I'd imagine that Northern France and maybe the low countries could also receive the transmission.  The blockchain plus a Digital Radio Mondiale coded audio station could be broadcast with the 18kHz of bandwidth using the Digital Radio Mondiale codec.  Or more data like alternative blockchains could potentially be transmitted instead.  LW transmissions have good penetration into large buildings.  So an external antenna on the outside of the building would not be needed.

Should all the code be open source in Github if we are still 2-3 months away?

Is there anyone (hero member with a perfect reputation) that could maybe hold new donations in escrow as a reward for new developers to help Gnosis finish the project on a contingency basis (only getting paid upon completion)?

Gnosis, if someone were to help you, what would you need the most? Math experts? More programmers? Both? Can the remaining work easily be subdivided so multiple people can work on it at once?

I would say the math part has been easiest for me. It would really only take one other good C++ coder (especially one who's familiar with the Bitcoin/Anoncoin codebase) to speed this up a lot.

I could potentially offer to create new wallets to hold the funds.  I've before now held sole access to a large wallet for the publically traded - www.redstarmining.com - for almost three years now safely.

In light of the MintPal closure does anyone have any spare altcoins they no longer want.  If so use them to vote to add FairCoin to the new exchange ColdCryptos they need a total of $120 of cryptocoin votes to add FairCoin.  You can pay with up to sixty different cryptocoins.  Just click on the vote now feature within this LINK to create a wallet to top up and vote with.  I know we now have the new exchange Vaultex but the more exchanges we can get to add FairCoin the better.  To help with decentralisation and redundancy plus in case Valutex was ever to go offline.  Plus if they get enough votes to add FairCoin to their new exchange then it'll also be added to their Facebook Multicoin Tipping App and their soon to be released Twitter tipping bot.

Hi matthewh3,

thanks for supporting FairCoin and being an active community member.

I found some very outdated information you published at coldcryptos.com and/or whitepuma.net. Please find updated information at http://fair-coin.org/.

Could you please update your post at coldcryptos forum to reflect the current state of FairCoin including but not limited to the following items:

  • You published the old logo from the old development team, please use our new logo
  • The 'Coin details' paragraph is out of date, see our web site
  • The most problematic peace of outdated information is the link to the OLD github repository. If someone builds that he will be fed up with FairCoin right away
  • The FairCoin forum is located here: https://forum.fair-coin.org

Anyway, thanks again for your efforts.

Great!!

Get voting then everyone with any spare crypto you have.  They accept up to sixty different cryptocoins.  While they've just released their Twitter tip bot.  So that'll be another new exchange, a Facebook FairCoin tipbot and Twitter FairCoin tip bot too.  If another 119 FairCoin'ers vote with $1 of crypt each we'll be added.

Still not confirmed

Hey mate; we're on the same boat. I have withdrawn my ANC about 4-5 days ago and still no signs of life.... We should support K1773Rand ask if the community wants to help him mine in his pool or add a new file to their settings.. so that the stuck tx can be mined through..

I could mine over 1BTC a month just on a CPU on a basic desktop computer but it was very unprofitable to do so and leave the PC on overnight just over three years ago..

Don't feed the trolls guys.  That's the only reason they spurt their nonsense is for the attention it receives.  Doesn't NHZ have an official moderated thread for official updates and roadmaps etcetera.  And then one like this one for trolling and chat.

Is there currently any plans on looking into adding decentralised privacy features to the Faircoin core.  Like Zerocoin, Ring-Signatures and Stealth Address.  Or is it currently wanted for all that to be done off chain like Bitcoin currently does and you just plan to fork DarkWallet to Faircoin.  Also what about adding side-chains or tree-chains I know a handful of other altcoins have or intend to implement them soon.  You could potentially have a Zerocoin and/or Ring-Signatures side-chains.  Or am I mistaken in that side-chains and tree-chains can only be implemented on PoW networks?

Amir Taaki bio

British-Iranian video game and computer software developer. Taaki is best known as a Bitcoin project developer and for pioneering many open source projects. Forbes listed Taaki in their top 30 entrepreneurs of 2014. In 2009 and 2010, Taaki made his living as a professional poker player. His experience with online gambling attracted him to the Bitcoin project. He founded a UK Bitcoin exchange called “Britcoin“, which was succeeded in 2011 by a new British exchange called Intersango. In April 2011, Taaki and Donald Norman established the Bitcoin Consultancy, a group focused on bitcoin project development. Taaki created the first full reimplementation of the Bitcoin protocol named libbitcoin, worked on the Bitcoin client Electrum and created other command line utilities around Bitcoin and the network.

The Bitcoin standardisation procedure (BIP.) was started by Taaki.

In 2013, Amir Taaki founded the Dark Wallet project as a privacy, scalability and integrity centered Bitcoin Wallet. Dark Wallet is a first step into a series of products that will touch upon tools for markets, governance and organisation. These are tools we need for our own communities, where we aim to create self-managed spaces.

He will be member of the Fair Coop Technical Infraestructure Council

Yeah he is a bit of a bitcoin legend I bought my first bitcoin off his Britcoin exchange in 2011  Grin

Feathercoin hardforks to NeoScrypt after their block 432,000 which should be around October the 24th.  So maybe we can have a GPU biased auxPoW chain in the myriad.  Vertcoin is also moving hashing algorithms from Scrypt-N to Lyra2 later in the year.  While Vertcoin is the only network that I know of that is committed to staying GPU biased.  So would make a good addition to Anoncoins auxPoW myriad chains.  The other three could be Scrypt for merged-ming with Litecoin plus Dogecoin and to keep the current Anoncoin miners on board.  Then Cryptonight for merged-mining with Monero and potentially Fantomcoin or MonetaVerde for CPU biased plus GPU mining(currently only Nvidia cards have an opensource miner).  And Primes algo for merged-mining with Primecoin for CPU biased and GPU mining.  They're the five chains I'd like to see although if you really wanted to push it to seven chains.  Then SHA256D and Keyack could be included to also merge-mine with Bitcoin and Maxcoin.  Then four of the seven auxPoW chains would need to be controlled to perform a 51% attack or similar on Anoncoin.  Although seven chains may push the block rewards on each auxPoW chain a bit thin and maybe discourage some large pools on the other networks from adopting Anoncoin.

On another note does anyone know when the first ANC block reward halving takes place and have a graph of the emissions curve.  Plus I'm not a big fan of the PoS model at all although Etherum's new hybrid PoW and PoS model could potentially be very interesting.  DPoS currently looks the most interesting form of PoS in my opinion.  If Anoncoin was to ever consider implementing PoS.  While Peercoin's model of rewarding active full nodes helps to secure and promote a healthy network plus prevents a Sybil attack from easily taking place.  Although this does make Peercoin slightly inflationary in design.
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: October 12, 2014, 10:09:26 PM

You obviously know very little about Anoncoin then.  As the plan from the very start was to implement Zerocoin.  It has just taken a while for the development of Zerocoin to mature to this stage.

That's not true.

Still, zerocoin is a scam. Anyone who has lived a bit and knows a little math can see that it is not designed for anonymity. My comment to those people who spot the scam is that anc has considerable value pre zerocoin and will have considerable value post zerocoin. It is cheap right now for buyers, if not for miners. The whole altcoin market is on the verge of a dizzying upswing. The scammers who are manipulating the price and who may or may not be affiliated with the zerocoin stuff are very market savvy and know this. The morons on this thread are mostly empty heads either pushing for or against anc and know very little of anything.

I'd now like to also add that you don't know much about maths either.  I've studied maths as an undergraduate although not this field and you'd have to be a number theory expert to find flaws in Anoncoins Zerocoin.  So it's not just a matter of knowing a 'little' maths.  You also don't understand markets either.  The fact Zerocoin is to be released on the testnet this Wednesday is causing the upswing.  And you can expect continued upswings after it's released to the testnet if all goes well.

This is obviously the same paid troll from a few weeks ago or another similar attempt sent from the same backer.  As I said back then it's probably best not to feed the troll and give them the attention they crave.  So this will probably be the last time I quote them.
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: October 12, 2014, 07:50:16 PM
There are two sides arguing about anoncoin.

One side are true believers in anc and zerocoin.

The other side are skeptics of zerocoin.

Here is the bottom line. Anc is a good coin with a stable development history and devs who are willing to adapt. But zerocoin is almost certainly a scam of some sort, a terminally flawed algorithm.

Anc, on its devs and history alone is cheap right now. Zerocoin is irrelevant. Once zerocoin is rolled out, if it is ever rolled out, its flaws will be discussed and it will be dismissed in favor of something else. Anc is a good coin long term.

You obviously know very little about Anoncoin then.  As the plan from the very start was to implement Zerocoin.  It has just taken a while for the development of Zerocoin to mature to this stage.

Have you asked to be added on https://Coinmarketcap.com?

At this moment faircoin will remain out of the list until a exchange accepted there have FAIR
yet for the price faircoin would be about top 60, currently

Yes I tweeted  @CoinMKTCap, @FairCoinTeam and @vaultex_io and @CoinMKTCap said they're soon going to add it.

The whole past month has been so frustrating mining wise..... Is there no way to get rid of the hopping pools?Huh?

The hardfork to auxPoW will help a lot as will the myriad hardfork to five auxPoW chains.  Then each chain will only find 20% of the blocks.  While by going auxPoW each chain should have a much higher and steadier hashrate.  It should also enable CPU and GPU mining so lots more people can mine ANC.  Rather than as it is currently where you need a Scrypt ASIC to mine well.
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: October 12, 2014, 01:14:33 PM
Anoncoin is stop on 254084 block. Why?

Problems with the KGW difficulty adjustments and multipools hopping on and off.  There should be a hardfork to fix it very soon maybe within twenty-four hours.

Well if we wanna have our coin, we must take it seriusly, I just bought 1000 faircoins for 0.02 btc because I cannot buy nothing with my small btc amount so I hope build something useful for the future and for my nexts jobs with this faircoin.

So if we don't need to do it quick, I sugest do it carefully and slow.

Good luck devolopers!

I just has put the 0.02 btc of the 1000 faircoins sold to him in a buy order at 1800 here
https://vaultex.io/market/21
could be interesting if some one more is interested in buy or sell and we can begin to create some volume on vaultex

I agree, i think we should concentrate in Vaultex atm, is the exchange we have and we should start creating some volume there.

Use it or lose it usually so maybe everyone should consider putting some at least micro bids and/or offers in to help build up the order books so some volume trading is able to take place.
