121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What are these "off-chain" transactions I am hearing more and more of ? on: January 25, 2017, 05:49:58 PM
As the time pass I am seeing more and more people talking about the "off-chain" transactions, but what is it exactly ? Is it doing transactions outside of the Bitcoin network, but still using Bitcoin as the currency, making it not an altcoin ? If it is the case, how is it even possible ? And what advantages does that bring ? If not what it is ?
122  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin break $2000? because of Trump? on: January 25, 2017, 05:44:03 PM
No, for me this is clear, Bitcoin will not break 2000$ this year. And in the very low probability scenario where it pass with a little margin the 2000$ cap, that will absolutely not be because of Trump. He is just a man, with not that much power. What do you frankly want him to do miraculously ?

I mean it might break, just don't think it'll be because of trump. I think if a Bitcoin ETF finally gets on the NYSE or if Kim and MEGA really come through, then perhaps we might see $2000. Trump has plenty of power now, since he has been inaugurated forever, don't know where you got that from LOL

He has some power, as the United States president, as he can send the army to some place (and only if the Congress agrees) and sign decreats, but he can not influence the price. Even if it was officially recognised as a legal tender, the maximum he can do, this will not affect Bitcoin's price that much !

124  Economy / Speculation / Re: The only way to get rich is by riding the next big alt pump on: January 24, 2017, 07:27:12 PM
I totally agree with you. The only way for people to get rich in a reasonable timespan is to stop trading Bitcoin for a few dollars margin, since unless they are already rich, they will not become it ! Or they would need to take some quite big risks, investing all of their bitcoins in each market movement and being always right. If they succeed, that would take time, lots of time. And that is if they succeed...
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The purpose of altcoins ? on: January 24, 2017, 07:21:01 PM
Altcoins have diverse purposes according to their nature. For me there is four categories : the totally new ones, the shitcoins, the dedicated ones and the one developper ones. The first ones' purpose is explicit. The shitcoins have no purpose. The dedicated ones exist to sustain a need, like most of the gaming-oriented ones. The one developper ones are the altcoins where there is a single talentuous developper. The purpose of these ones is to let this guy use its talent. Innovations generally come from the last group.
126  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Why do so many people hate Coinbase? on: January 24, 2017, 04:58:37 PM
This is because they are a big company (that could be just enough), that use its power to influence the situation in their favour. And I do not even mention how easily they can freeze your account, with for you no possibility at all to contest it, since juridiction is already hard enough to apply to some companies in your own country, so imagine to a foreign company trading valueless numbers for your juridiction !
127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit yay or nay? come vote here. on: January 23, 2017, 07:39:02 PM
I would be tempted to say yes, as I have to this day never seen any convincing explication about why this is a bad idea. For this reason, and since I would like that we get out of this eternal drama about the blocksize, I start about a yes basis, that might change if anyone ever prove me this is a bad idea.
128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin needs altcoins because ... on: January 23, 2017, 07:30:37 PM
I don't agree with the testnet, because we have already the teestnet with bitcoin, if you want tot ry something you can try it there without making an altcoin to scam investors, altcoin are bad for another reason and is the fact that they remove liquidity to the bitcoin market, if someone want to buy many altcoin he will dump bitcoin for them because it's the easy way instead of going with fiat first

At the contrary, this is for me the most important one. Bitcoin testnet is a closed thing, at the inverse of the altcoins. If you would like to test a revolutionary feature you imagined, altcoins are the perfect sandbox, as no one will bother you and you will not need to refer about what you are doing to anyone.
129  Economy / Economics / Re: $1100 to $750 is significant on: January 23, 2017, 07:26:34 PM
+ $100 in a week and holding, impressive. The Trump effect ?  Still not sure on that but he definitely had an effect on the stock market hitting new highs across the board   Shocked

No, I think you guys are searching for hypothetical reasons for this great increase. The great increase that led to 1000$+ could be linked to India and China for me, but this one is simply as everytime with a great increase in price a consecutive increase.
130  Economy / Economics / Re: US Debt at $19,959,943,400,000 will $20 trillion make the news? on: January 23, 2017, 07:20:40 PM
No, I do not think this will make the news, at least from outsing the United States. For a few reasons : that would alarm people for nothing since this changes absolutely nothing, people out of the United States does not care about the debt of the USA, and be frank, talking about the new bakery that just opened is more interesting !

Until it hits a tipping point and international confidence in the USD is lost shifting to the Yuan.

The USA will then be in a world of hurt.

Very interesting scheme you are sharing with us. My main question now is it if it is possible according to you guys that another currency take the lead ? I doubt about this : yuan is being devaluated hardly, ruble will not be for ideological reasons, euro is not that interesting, pound is dead.
131  Economy / Speculation / Re: UK Exchange Coinfloor Embraces 'No-Fee' Bitcoin Trading on: January 20, 2017, 04:51:30 PM
This is for me the best way to make profit : enable fee-free trades, so you can have a true free Bitcoin exchange, where people do not start with a negative profit just for a trade, and add a fee on deposits and withdrawal. That way you will also have lots of bots playing on the exchange, and this provides a welcome added fluidity.

133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The greatest innovation? on: January 20, 2017, 04:27:20 PM
For me this sounds as an evidence ! Even though the blockchain technology needs the personal computers to work, as the Internet, I think it will have a greater positive impact on people's lives. This is a revolution, as at same way as the French Revolution or the October Revolution, this is a revolution from the people, in order to free them from a greater power, supposed or real, that would have been oppressing them. Here that would be the recent bank's attitude to be hostile to privacy, while in some way computers led to the global mass watch from the governments. For this reason this is for me the greatest one.
134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another Nakamoto candidate. on: January 18, 2017, 12:13:05 PM
For me Satoshi Nakamoto is not its real name, you will agree with that I think. Why would one choose a pseudonym ? To hide its identity. For a maximum efficiency, this nickname must not have any kind a connection to your real one, because that would do what everyone is doing here : searching for Asian computer scientists. And if he is really an Asian (a common hypothesis considering so many names are Asian), he could be found. For this reason, I think that Satoshi Nakamoto is a nickname far from its real name, and thus Satoshi is not an Asian, and thus Tsutomu Shimomura is not Satoshi.
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 95% lol. No chance. SegWit is now dead. on: January 16, 2017, 06:00:39 PM
Very strange that you say that, as I remember that not so long ago most of the people were hailing the great victory of SegWit, that it will be activated very soon. I don't think this is a bad thing, why are you saying so, that it is an altcoin ? For me it justs reorganisate the blocks, so I could not call that an altcoin.
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Do Altcoin Dev's Deserve Money ? on: January 14, 2017, 06:31:43 PM
I find this perfectly normal : why would someone talented would spend his precious time developping something that will not success because he has not enough money because he would have to work most of the time to feed his family ? Also few projects are due to a sole man, so hiring a team is also an important part, marketing does matter too, and both of these things need significant amount of money. In case of Vitalik, he did a great contribution, and I see no problem to see him being rewarded for its major contribution. Do not be jealous of the others, this is bad for you ! Just be happy for them !
137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can I store my Bitcoin in My computer ? on: January 14, 2017, 06:24:50 PM
Yes, you can, but be very cautious when doing it by making sure your computer is not infected with any kind of virus. Then download Electrum, this is the software I recommend you, find a very good password, very hard to bruteforce, and then, you will be ready to accept bitcoins !
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Some questions on: January 14, 2017, 06:19:40 PM
I find you quite hard with him, he is a newbie, just help him !

-Except you have a very high end CPU, do not lose your time CPU mining.
-No, it is not worth the money you will spend in it.
-It is not worth unless you have your own miners that will make the pool attractive for newcomers, because unless you offer no fees and you have a very high grade server, you will attract no one if there is not already a strong hashrate sent to your pool.
-Have an electrical price very low. Even starting today you can be profitable, but you will need some patience and a low electrical price.
139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Making 4 BTC per month on a regular basis on: January 11, 2017, 07:05:00 PM
I guess you should first share it with someone highly trusted as a vouch copy , when this trusted user write his reviews and everything goes fine then you should start sharing it for a fee and once again , only with trusted members.
I doubt those members will share it with other members too , It won't be logical to throw 4 BTC per month method just like that .
Its actually a first in this forum too, I've never seen a legendary reputable member before offering this as most of the methods on digital goods are a scam by newbies.

I fully agree with you, this does sound fishy for most of people and this is why I ve posted in my opening post I DO NOT PLAN TO SELL this for now. Even when I finish full testing, I ll probably select a few people, maybe 2-3, due to some potential high referral fees and share this with them.

Somebody mentioned working 5 hours instead of an hour, well, it does not work that way. This method s still in testing phase and even though it works now, it might fail tomorrow or I can run into something unexpected in a week or so.

It did take me lots of time to figure the entire system, fill holes and find requires software, hardware and expertise.

Anyway, thx for all suggestions, we ll see how this ll work in the future.

When I saw this, I could not think about anything else than PTC, which with a starting capital and a proper management, can be very lucrative. Also, it can not be shared to too many people since the number of workers you can hire is limited.
Also, this can be investing in a PoS coin (let me guess, Diamond Cheesy ?).
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Weird problem when using my Nvidia rig on: January 11, 2017, 06:59:50 PM
Never even heard of this issue. What OS?

Windows 7 64 Bits

It is not weird, and check out this thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1727002.0

This is in the case I'd like to not connect a monitor, but I want to, and problem is that if I unplug it too long, it gets bugged and I need to reboot.
