121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Drugs with Bitcoin ? on: September 24, 2015, 05:44:22 PM
that's why government worry about bitcoin because some people want use bitcoin for wrong way, buying drugs is illegal.

well it depend if our friend want to sell it for medical purpose or he is a medic himself

there is a vast usage for drugs in medicine
Buying Drugs with Bitcoin for medical purpose Grin
That never going to happen
If you bought Drugs for that kind of purpose you need to buy it from Legal Shop that have the permission from the government
Not from Silkroad or Dark web Smiley
Peace bro  Roll Eyes

why not, maybe i want to have a better deal than buying it in pharmacy, which will cost me a fortune

you will do secretly anyway no matter if it's legal or not, but what i mean is that not everything done secretly is illegal...
This got me wondering, would people who need certain medications for survival be a viable defense against charges?

This guy buys an inhaler with Bitcoin through a dark net market.

123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi is back ? on: September 23, 2015, 06:31:17 PM
Wait, am I understanding this right?  He moved 286 BTC and everyone is freaking out?  I am obviously missing something though, 286 BTC moving happens every day?

It is because of the age of the coins. This is the first documented case of coins so old, that were assumed to be satoshis have moved. It is a pretty big event.

Gotcha, so did we know Satoshis coin address at one point?  Is there a place I can read some more about this and actually get facts?

He has many addresses, most of them just have one transaction (receiving 50 BTC after mining a block)
124  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Free apps.. on: September 23, 2015, 06:29:37 PM
how to transfer satoshi  to bitcoins?

A satoshi is a unit of Bitcoin. One satoshi is 0.00000001 BTC

Now you have to scroll way down the page to find any mention of Bitcoin at all. Cry

I see it right at the top.

edit: sorry, didn't see Lauda's post.

You must have a different cookie or something. This is what I get:

Even when I browse with Incognito mode I still see BTC.
Maybe it's a country thing?
127  Economy / Services / Re: YoBit.Net - Signature Campaign - Realtime Payouts (daily) on: September 23, 2015, 04:03:58 PM
I would like to join when I reached the Junior rank. Is it mandatory to add the personal text besides the signature? If it is possible I would only like to add the signature banner.

You're supposed to add the personal text, but the site still seems to pay you without it.
128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Realistically does bitcoin have any competition ? on: September 23, 2015, 03:39:25 PM
Couple that with the fact there's been no major improvements to the protocol since 2009 or 2010

Do we really need any major changes?
129  Other / Off-topic / Re: My PayPal horror story on: September 22, 2015, 09:08:48 PM
Have they confiscated your money too?

Why do people store money in their PayPal accounts?
Surely you would want it in the bank where it is (slightly) safer?

Paypal is the leading payment processor. Major companies accept paypal for their goods and the ease of use is very convenient.

But whenever I spend money through PayPal, it uses my card.
I didn't even know PayPal stored money until I read some of the horror stories of accounts getting limited.

Is Satoshi she or he?

Nobody knows (or at least, nobody claims to know). For all we know, Satoshi could be more than one person.

Maybe they're trying to see what they can get away with. Eventually one of their crazy patents will go through and they'll make a lot of money with it.
138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Best OS to run a node? (not sure if correct board) on: September 21, 2015, 09:44:09 PM
Best OS to run a node? The OS you understand best.

It's always nice to learn something new though, especially if it does a better job at doing what you're looking for.
In that case, have a go at Linux Mint.

I don't think Linux Mint would be a good idea for a server, as it is a desktop oriented distribution.
139  Other / Off-topic / Re: Windows 7 VS Windows 10 on: September 21, 2015, 09:41:22 PM
If your laptop is compatible with Linux consider ripping Windows off and installing Ubuntu instead.

Ubuntu still has some privacy issues (sending search data to Amazon). Why not take a dive and try something different like Gentoo or Arch?
140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To stop centralization, you need to cap the Difficulty, not the Blocksize !!! on: September 21, 2015, 09:40:22 PM
But, there are many Alt coins where the average time to find a block is close to 1 second. Do they have high orphan rate ?

Probably.
Ethereum has a 10 second block time which causes many orphans, but I think they are called Uncles and it's still possible to get a block reward from them.
