Tatum caused the special not to hit as he only had 16 points.
My hunch was right, the Celtics are too versatile so it's hard to expect a big performance from Tatum.

I also had a bunch of bets on the French Open earlier today, and they all made it look easy by cashing my bets after the second set. Cheesy

After watching both matches, Alcaraz will probably win it all after seeing him almost go down 2-0 then turning it all around in the fifth set.

@ralle14, you hedging as well? Grin
I've already hedged on my Dallas prediction, so i'm sitting this one out and letting it ride.  Tongue

If only the upcoming match isn't a friendly, then I wouldn't hesitate to take the BTTS no.

Still, I like my odds on Portugal BTTS since Finland got two goals in their friendly match a few days ago.
123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the role of home/away matches? on: June 07, 2024, 04:00:35 AM
From how I see it, these home and away matches are one of the ways to give each team the same opportunity of having an advantage which Odohu mentioned as playing at home can play a big role in most sports.

If I have to put a number, it'd be around 5% or more depending on how formidable the team can be in home games. Still, these advantages aren't always enough to overcome most of the team's problems in the other department, and it's why the best team will always rise to the top.

On the other hand, there are still a few sports where home advantage barely exists like baseball because you have different starting pitchers every day.
124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can someone take gambling as a source of income to he/she life? on: June 07, 2024, 01:05:04 AM
if their are people who are living in this kind of lifestyle. And what will be your opinion towards the people living in this kind of lifestyle everyday of their life's?
For those who are gambling at a professional level good on them, I have nothing but respect since it's not easy to maintain that consistency when it comes to profit. Most of us want to reach that level, but we know it's impossible because there's more to it than just betting and looking at the numbers.

Others already gave an example and i'll add another he's Tykiwanuka, i've linked his thread instead of his profile since you'll see more details about it over there.

Time to place your bets for the NBA Finals guys.
It went down again to 2.98, and there could be more action on the side of the Mavs now that we're nearing kick-off.

I also hope the Mavs can win this first game so I can win my round on the BSFL, but i'm not confident enough to bet on them winning straight up as the Celtics are like the final boss of this playoffs. That said, I have this bet on the Celtics to cover the first half.

That daily special could've been interesting if it was paired with another market since Tatum could go under now that the Celtics have more options with KP back in the lineup.
126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: June 06, 2024, 10:39:23 PM
I had to change my bet from the Mavs to the Celtics' first-half handicap (-3.5), even though I like the full time handicap for the Mavs, you can't go wrong with the first-half handicap on the Celtics when it's only by a few points. This market wasn't that great during the Pacers series, but I think it'll be different against the Mavs, and they could struggle with the pace of the Celtics based on their previous meetings.

The qualifiers for The International started so early this year right ? We are already in Open qualifiers and currently I'm watching Team Bald reborn where SaberLight gave a chance to try his luck to qualify for TI because no team wanted him so far. Funny how Shopify Rebelion failed to qualify for Riyadh without him right ? Now , it's clear that the problem in that team belongs to Bulba for drafting and for RTZ for actually farming way to long and being scared to take team fights.
They probably scheduled the qualifiers a month early so everyone participating could settle their VISA. I also tuned in to their streams yesterday and it's smooth sailing for them since they haven't faced a good stack so far.

Shopify Rebellion made a couple of changes since last month so it could take more time for them to find some form, and they're probably under pressure as they have to make it work during these back-to-back qualifiers.

If I have to speculate i'd also say RTZ since he's the only remaining core member in the squad while everyone else has moved on.

By the way xQc must be an insane guy to bet $100k on 2-1 score for G2.  Grin  He is streaming on Kick so I don't know if the money is sponsored by Stake. But the amount is just huge anyway for a bet like this.
That's probably sponsor money since he's still consistently streaming on Kick. The impressive part is that his correct score bet got him more winnings than G2.  Tongue

While waiting for the TI closed qualifiers, i'll take a shot at one of the many bo1 matches at the YaLLa Compass tournament. Mongolz are on their way to top the group and Heroic is potentially going 0-3 based on their struggling form.

129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting - How to determine if the line is a trap? on: June 06, 2024, 04:43:20 AM
I'm doing something similar, I usually check the opening and current odds to see if there's any line movement, then look up which side the public is on because you sometimes see a lot of bets going through on one side and there's still no movement.

The Dallas/Celtics market that Japinat mentioned is a good example, I remember checking one of the betting bots in our group and it said around 80% of bets are placed on Dallas, but the spread isn't going down anytime soon.

Tell me if I'm overthinking, if I'm wrong about this, or if this really is the key to winning.
It goes both ways, regardless of the line looking like a trap you could be missing out on an easy win.  Sometimes, we think that getting the best line should translate to a free win, but we forget that it's always easy for a team to crumble on a good day and ruin your bet at the end.

however players from certain countries dont get it that easily. gonna have to see if that repeats
We'll probably hear the updates once we're a week or a few days away from the tournament dates since that's how it was in the previous tournaments.

Imperial Esports beat Sharks in the ESL challenger South America just an hour ago and are set to face off against Red Canids tomorrow(a squad I never had heard of before today) who beat favorites 9z.

If Imperial wins the next series, they're locked in for the next season of the ESL Pro League plus they get a map advantage as a team coming from the upper bracket, that's a rare advantage to see in CS2 tournaments.

I also didn't know Red Canids had a CS squad, i'm only familiar with them because their LoL team previously played on the international stage.

My lucky prediction on Italy put me on a good start. I blindly picked them as I didn't see any pre-live odds on flashscore's match page and only found out just now that they're the slight underdogs in this match.  Tongue

We only have two questions left before my round against cryptofrka ends, and my hunch is that we'll end on a draw.

132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is a fun activity but it has some potential to be profitable sometimes on: June 06, 2024, 12:13:49 AM
I'm also one of the unlucky gamblers, but I did come close to being profitable when i've won a bunch of raffle prizes. After that, it's all downhill for my betting record since that was several years ago, and I haven't had another lucky win like that again.

I want to know that do we have some of those lucky ones on this forum who have made exponential profits in gambling? If yes then kindly share your gambling story to inspire others.
One of the users that comes to mind is Tykiwanuka, I can't tell if he's a lucky gambler, but I remember that he's a professional sports bettor since he had this AMA thread back then which was insightful.
133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What about low odds in sports betting? on: June 05, 2024, 04:15:35 PM
I also remember someone doing a similar strategy where he'd only go for the lowest odds, but he only did live bets and mostly went for tennis matches.

I agree with Woodie you'll need to find a sport or league you're very familiar with because not all pre-live odds are set accurately.

The biggest downside is probably being picky with the matches you'll bet on because as you've mentioned, the strategy is similar to a parlay it only takes a quick loss or two to put you back to the starting point.
134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you really want from gambling? on: June 05, 2024, 02:08:40 AM
I used to have a goal like hitting a certain amount, but now it's more about trying to have a profitable day or break even. I know it's impossible, and that's why i've set a specific limit and hope I get lucky through some of the promotions or reward systems they put up along the way.

One of the steps i've taken is to create an account from several casinos so I can start progressing my way through the casinos' reward system and at the same time, wait for those profitable promotions to show up.

Looking at the performance of PSG.Quest and how they went through the grand finals, they don't have any loss from any team they've faced and it did looked easy for them.

And for the South America region qualifiers, it's also done and well played for Beastcoast and Heroic. It's exhausting to see Boom Esports, called GG within just 13 minutes of the game in a grand finals for this qualifiers. Pakasz was titled and raged quit on that match because he can't it anymore, they've been left far behind with their score in kills and obviously, they're just going to lose the 2nd map.

In Western Europe region, Entity and MOUZ took the spots. What's interesting to me is on how MOUZ kicked Team Secret's ass in a 2-0 match easy.
Yep, nothing surprising from the MENA region, as Quest is still the second-best team there.

I didn't follow the SA qualifiers, but i'm surprised that BOOM lost that badly against beastcoast when they're like the gatekeepers together with Heroic.

Mouz stepping up recently was a bit expected because they looked better after finishing third in the FISSURE tournament.

136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who's winning the Euro 2024 Tournament? on: June 05, 2024, 12:18:44 AM
You predict Portugal not "we".
They mentioned "we" at the end because they could be a group of people as they also run a gambling site.

Anyway, i'm also leaning on Germany or France to win it all even though England is the team with the best odds of taking home the trophy, I still have some doubts since they tend to disappoint in the crucial matches.

I still like Portugal's chances, but i'm not that confident in them to have a deep run despite their squad looking solid.
137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: June 04, 2024, 04:30:20 PM
Maybe some new leadership was all they needed. Because m0nesy had always been a good player. So it was really disappointing to see how they were dropping in performance as a team for the last 6 months. Not winning much of anything since the new source came out.
Let's hope they are on the right track now with Stewie2k at the helm or was he just a temporary fix to get over this hump for their premiere title in CS2?
That's what I also thought when Stewie stood in for G2, the change of pace probably gave them the push to play this well.

Regardless of the success, it's unlikely for them to bring Stewie in because he wasn't that much of an upgrade over Hooxi and I think it's just the other players from the side of G2 stepped up big time during this tournament. Also, they're lucky that a couple of good teams suddenly underperformed like Mouz and Faze.
138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: June 04, 2024, 02:11:49 AM
LOL.. Who knew that the G2 team, which came to the tournament with a substitute player, would win the cup, and I would probably choose Vitality. The absence of HooXi gave G2 the cup, I think it shouldn't happen anymore. Stewie has done well even though he hasn't played in the pro arena for many years. Stewie, maybe the team can become permanent and they can make a new contract after this tournament.
Yup, it's so random and the last time I can recall we saw a CS team this successful with a stand-in was when s1mple played for Team Liquid. I still have doubts about Stewie potentially being picked up by a team because he didn't stand out as much when you look at his stats.

China on the other hand has 3 slots on Riyadh master which is pretty weird
They probably based those extra slots on the EPT leaderboard as G2.IG and Azure Ray are the next two teams that could've received an invite.
139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Q02 - Promotion of casinos through streamers, youtubers and others :) on: June 04, 2024, 01:40:56 AM
1) Do you watch/follow any streamers, youtubers or other social media people who focus on promoting any type of gambling?

2) If yes, what is your reason for doing so? (I have some opinions but would like to get responses from more people  Smiley)

3) If yes, do you play or have you at least tried the casinos promoted by these streamers? (have you made a deposit yourself?)
I follow a bunch of gambling streamers mostly the popular ones like Train and Rosh, even gaming streamers who sometimes gamble on the side because of their streaming contract or sponsor.

I used to watch them back then because I find their streams enjoyable like watching a friend gamble his money away, but then it started to feel repetitive so I eventually moved on to other streamers.

I already played in these casinos even before they got promoted, but i'd rather do my research first than try them blindly.
140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you understand entertainment? on: June 04, 2024, 01:01:06 AM
One of the many ways to understand entertainment IMO is to compare it with your other hobbies aside from gambling. Some of the posts from the previous page gave good examples and for me, it's mostly about participating with a group of people, and in gambling, it's like joining a betting pool. At first, you don't expect it to be that entertaining, but once it's over you'll eventually realize how fun it was and look forward to the same kind of activity.
