121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the highest amount of Bitcoin you earned? on: September 09, 2017, 03:52:43 AM
Well, that is not a straight question in the end is it? We had at one time over 5000 coins, but that is when the value was in the $60-200 range. We had over 1000 in the $2000 range and currently have a holding for the investment fund of around 14 coins. Earned? Not sure what you mean by that word in this context, but as they are the company investments returns and funds, I guess you could use the word earned.
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you share your secrets and research findings??? on: September 09, 2017, 03:18:34 AM
Just curious if people openly help and share all their "secrets" that came with long laborious research or hold back some.

I am new but my son and myself spend lots of hours trying to find likely winners...I share a few of them here but honestly, I am not showing all my cards.

Watching many advice here, some (no many) of them seem laughable and ridiculous to me...but maybe I am mistaken.

They are not secrets and there is no reason not to. If we see a coin that is going up and share that information, then that means more people buying and that is nothing but good. On the down slide,. I would not be against telling someone, as we always see these things ahead of time and have likely already gotten out of that coin.
123  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin or other coins on: September 09, 2017, 03:03:35 AM
Depends on the purpose. If it is long term investment, than of course it is BTC every minute of the day. If you have some other purpose for the coins, then there may be others that are better suited. BTC is also great for storing the investment bank when it is not being used, as there is little chance of loss, and if there is a price drop, then a short wait will bring it right back up.
124  Economy / Speculation / Re: Have I missed something?? Markets tanked in minutes! on: September 09, 2017, 02:50:26 AM
Hey everyone, I'm new on here but have started investing in crypto recently and built up a nice (albeit small) portfolio.

Just noticed that pretty much everything has fallen 10-15% in literally a few minutes. I know the weekend and China announcement caused drops over the space of a day but this is insane. Maybe these things happen often on a Friday... Profit taking day etc, and they'll correct in the next hour or so as people buy in this huge dip.

I've not seen anything anywhere near this in the few months I've been trading. Have I just missed them previously or is something fishy going on?

I would say that tanked is a strong word. There are things that affect the price and it is still much higher than it has been since day 1. The price will go back up and there is really nothing to complain about if not, as $4300 is a quite respectable price considering the short life span of the commodity
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A group of hackers installed cryptocurrency mining malware on 9000 computers ove on: September 08, 2017, 04:12:43 PM
In new research reported by Russia Today, the provider said it had unearthed two Russian hacker groups which were hijacking machines to mine Monero and Zcash, among other cryptocurrencies.

The hackers controlled one batch of 4000, and another of 5000 computers.

Good for them, it is nice to see a group taking interest in hobby. It is irrelvant either way. People are going to do what they are going to do and there is no changing that. Hackers are not going to change the crypto world in any direction other that for the better. It is that simple.
126  Economy / Economics / Re: WILL BITCOIN BE USED BY ALMOST EVERYONE IN 2022? on: September 08, 2017, 03:56:35 PM
There is no way to tell the future of anything that far in advance. There is a strong possibility that ta war or some political event is going to change everything between now and then, and it is possible that it is not. A year from now is hard to predict in some ways and predicting for 2022 is a long time before we can say anything about it.

There are too many factors in the world that can change anything and everything and those are factors that can have a strong economic base and effect the world right down to the crypto level. Think like that everything going smoothly and bitcoin rising like a moon and suddenly world war start up and no one knows where bitcoin goes from there onwards. I agree to think and predict bitcoin month by month and not like 5 years from now.
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Doge is Dead? on: September 06, 2017, 06:11:28 PM
I would say that a good 40% of the sites are the second category which trade for the big three. So that means that if I have another cryptocurrency and I want to exchange it on those exchanges I can trade it for Bitcoin, doge or litecoin. This makes a strong foundation for doge as a coin that's not going anywhere, Plus on some exchanges you're only there to deal with a single cryptocurrency that no other exchange has.
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DogeCoin Issue on: September 06, 2017, 05:38:28 PM
Another word you have to put together a certain number of them before you can make them available for withdrawal and what you've done so there's probably at least a 24 hour delay. Those are some of the few things that confuse people about faucets.
129  Economy / Services / Re: I am looking for places to buy btc instantly to transfer to my wallet. on: September 06, 2017, 03:38:48 PM

ID verification can't be Troublesome and take time I wouldn't expect them to be done Within 24 hours. There is a site called Virwox that turned out to be very expensive, could be a little bit confusing, although it can't be quicker than the first two options you've mentioned.

130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The next Bitcoin? on: September 06, 2017, 03:11:00 PM
People use bitcoin exchanges to hold value because they trust value is not going down they know that if it's going to lose anybody at all it might be a $100 value and it's going to go right back up within a few days. That way when they're exchanging cryptocurrencies, they don't have to keep going straight for Fiat into the exchange and then back out again losing money in The Exchange every time, they also know they don't have to leave it in a crypto-currency that they do not fully trust waking up in the morning to find all of their money gone.
131  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: help with calculator on: September 04, 2017, 08:20:43 AM
hi im new to mining and been looking on genesis mining.
i was thinking about just buying eth 1MH/s for $30 and when i use the calculator it says ill make my money back in 455 days
idk if i doing it wrong could someone help me im stuck

I was going to follow through and take a look but it actually sounds right. I would say that 455 days might be a little short. 1 meg is pretty much nothing. I play around with an old laptop sometimes and nearly hit that without any sort of GPU or anything. Most PCS straight out of Walmart should be able to hit anywhere from 5 to 50 without any special Hardware or configuration.

So that is just there to give you a basic barometer to compare what you're looking at online to. There are people that have taken a normal PC and using nothing but a standard PC, over the counter video cards and the average amount of RAM and hit 50 to 100 with no problems at. One mhs is pretty much the equivalent of about a five-year-old laptop with no Hardware.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin on: September 04, 2017, 07:10:44 AM
The thing with litecoin is there is nothing at this time to really makes it special other than being the second coin. The value seems to hold overtime without that much fluctuation and even though I trust the value of bitcoin much more, I suppose I would feel too crazy leaving a balance in Litecoin overnight. Some of the things that made it popular in the past are just not there anymore.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is so good about Bitconnect? on: September 04, 2017, 04:19:33 AM
You can never tell why people jump on one coin and not another I was just mentioning it another thread a coin that came out quickly, was very strong, then died a week later, and in the past year to community has tried to revive that coin two or three times. There doesn't seem to be anything special about it, but for some reason it just speaks to some people.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HOT Altcoins Trade Ideas on: September 03, 2017, 09:56:11 PM
There's a quiz out there on the internet I saw last year about predictions in the Forex Market. I played with it for about 2 days and it actually kind of gives a neat little insight into the crypto currency world. It would present a Forex pair, like US dollar for the base and British pound for the other, and then present a scenario in the political world or the news and you had to answer whether that pair was going to go up or down. The same is true for the cryptocurrency world

but a lot of it is based on rumors and hearsay. Look at Bitcoin cash, a simple alt coin, that got an immediate following based on the environment that it was released in. It directly met a need and fear that people had. Our investment firm has a team of six people that does absolutely nothing but sit here on these forums and other websites looking for Snippets of information that might manipulate the market.
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if all coins disappear?? on: September 03, 2017, 09:05:52 PM
I guess the main question would be why they disappeared and how quickly it happened. If they were just magically not be there, then there would probably be a major upheaval of the entire cryptocurrency world. I'm going to assume that all of the exchanges have at least 50% of their liquid coins in something besides Bitcoin although I could be wrong.
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the 3 thing you look for in an ICO? on: September 03, 2017, 04:21:45 PM
This has actually changed as time has gone bad. The big thing that I used to look for was the idea, the way that idea was presented, and at least some semblance of a plan to achieve that. But, so many of these over the past year have had a great idea, have had a great plan, and then once the money was raised poof they were gone.
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Most Cryptocurrencies Doomed to Collapse — because they’re “ICO-issued”? on: September 03, 2017, 04:09:00 PM
I Think they hit the internet too quick with their first announcement, even though they call it a pre-announcement, sometimes. It takes a lot more than a half-formed idea to make a business plan, and beyond that it takes a lot more than a business plan to make a successful business. I think a lot of people come sites like this forum, have a nice idea, put it out there but they don't actually have planned or the resources to make this happen.
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Do exchanges have only one adress for their Token or several? ERC20 on: September 02, 2017, 04:28:02 PM
At that root level I'm not sure. There is a level of decentralization that is lost when an exchange steps in. I haven't actually started one or touched it very much but it would seem that at the client level the addresses are linked to a user via a database. I noticed the other day using localbitcoins that they going to have been deposited to one of my addresses had been withdrawn within 10 minutes, I wasn't worried about it and obviously the balance still showed on my account, but you can tell that there's a lot of movement is used and each exchange might do it differently.
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Please! Let's get rid of those ICO scam!!! Use CIVIC!! on: September 02, 2017, 07:10:33 AM
I can't see it anymore. Last week another scam has happend with an ICO  Cry . Now let us help each other and do something about those ICO scam!!! What can ICO projects do to protect the people that invest? Now I know about CIVIC, ID verification. This will help us to make it more difficult for the scammers. A great project with a support of nearly 5000 people only in telegram app. I think we can call it a hype.

Now I think there is more. Maybe we can start the war against the scammers en combine our hands. Besides CIVIC, what else can we/ (ICO projects) use? And is it possible that CIVIC and other companies will work together?

Now I think this is prior number 1 in this blockchain world. I am really curious about your opinion!!

I think there needs to be a more regulated system for offering a Ico. I haven't looked at it lately but I'm pretty sure that on an exchange all it takes is an announcement link, wallet links, a link to an explorer, and a fee to get started. If you look at and IPO in the stock market, the system is basically the same but all of that information has to meet a certain set of requirements.
140  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex: Still safe ? on: September 02, 2017, 07:06:02 AM
I have no reason to doubt them at this time. I haven't seen anything lately that is popped up in my mind making them more or less reliable than before. I have nothing against that website I just don't use it that much, for some reason I fell into using Novi exchange a lot. But I do have a cat at the other exchanges because they have some coins that Nova doesn't deal with.
