121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you holding your bitcoin for a price increase? on: February 02, 2016, 12:54:25 AM
I am holding coins to make my pseudo-anonymous, pseudo-untraceable payments. So, no, I am not really holding them for a price increase.

Whatever the bald-headed Coinbase motherfucker is not using.
124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is a PGP signature and why is it important? on: January 05, 2016, 06:58:57 AM

When you create a PGP, you get 2 keys, one is public, the other is private. The private one you keep to yourself and don't share with anyone, the public one you let others know by uploading it to pgp servers.

And the way it is used in messages is if you want to send a message to someone which you want no one else to see then you encrypt the message with that person's public key and only they can read it by decrypting the message with their private key and password. Its not a messenger, its just a good way of encrypting the messages.

Isn't it that aside from Public key and Private Key there's also this pass phrase that needs to be secured? Is it possible to sign and verify a PGP message without those pass phrase?

It is possible to remove the passphrase from the private key but this is not recommended. However this is usually the case for automated setups where there is nobody to enter the passphrase. You could also store the passphrase in a configuration file but from a security standpoint it does not make much difference to not using a passphrase at all.
125  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin and Porn on: January 05, 2016, 06:49:44 AM
bitcoin and porn is both two unique industrys and yes if they work together then it will be really cool idea and nowdays a lot of porn sites accept bitcoins and peoples are also spending their bitcoins in a lot of porn sites specially in webcam shows they spend like 100$ - 200$ everyday or even more . i had just seen this much of spending ether on gambling sites or in trading sites but now porn sites are being smarter day by day . girls are kickass  Grin they are always dostroyer for a men . they have power to exsaust our investments and i think it will also effect in he bitcoin price too

Yes that is right, Just look how they spend their bitcoins in gambling also, Maybe some winners from gambling used their bitcoins to buy porn for self satisfaction.  Grin

Gambling or paying for porn is both interntainement for the most, and a pleasure its the fealing of doing the both, just one diference porn no way to roi.Bitcoin can be at any industry if have to start with porn to reach mass adoption soo let it be.

Any time I can avoid going to my favorite $3000 escort by going instead to a Bitcoin porn site I would have already ROI'ed.
126  Other / Off-topic / Re: How much weed do you smoke? on: October 04, 2015, 01:51:06 PM
Never smoked tha weed, seen too many people looking like zombies, and the majority of them need the weed more than food or to look after the family, much trouble with weedos around my area.
They love to steal and burgle homes just for the love of weed.

It friggin stinks and fouls up my air space.
I think its fine for medicinal use though.

I agree with you on medical use, but not on you've said above. "They love to steal and burgle homes just for the love of weed." ? Are you sure you are not  mixing up pot lovers with crackheads and heroin addicts?

The pot lovers I know are mellow and harmless. If anything the only problem I have with them is that they can be somewhat unambitious, i.e. when presented with choices in life they prefer to take the laid-back option. I am not saying that they don't accomplish great things, though.
127  Other / Off-topic / Re: How much weed do you smoke? on: October 04, 2015, 12:47:43 PM
i smoke only 2 joints day because im limited, if i could smoke more i would

I'm of limited intelligence too. I can only count to five, so I am limited to 5 joints a day.

Bitfloor (Roman Shtylman's exchange)
129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should Satoshi's coins be deleted? on: April 22, 2015, 11:33:59 PM
I think it is clear from the poll that only a small number of loosers would go with the fork with the deleted coins.
130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should Everything Be Decentralized? on: April 01, 2015, 10:13:54 AM
some people don't like decentralization, because it take away the security, you need always to trust a third party with decentralized system, that's the only problem i can see, otherwise decentralization is the future

Can you clarify this point? One of the key innovations of Bitcoin's decentralized consensus model is that it does away with the need to trust third parties in a transaction.

I think he is referring to paying using Bitcoin vs. paying using Visa or MasterCard, where the credit card company will usually refund the transaction in the event that there is fraud on the part of the seller. So to get back that assurance, you would need to use a trusted intermediary like an escrow.

I wonder how long it would take me to spam my way to full member so that I can change my avatar?

I would like to take a moment to dispell the notion that MSDN keys sold on the forum are taken from stolen retail MSDN accounts that cost some hapless souls thousands upon thousands of dollars.

Please familiarize yourself with the Microsoft Bizspark program. Under the Bizspark program you just need to set up a shell company with a website and declare yourself to be some kind of startup that intends to be a Microsoft soutions provider or ISV. You then send an application to Microsoft's Bizspark program which requires a $100 application fee. If your application looks legit enough, Microsoft will admit your company into the Bizspark program which lasts 3 years.

This entitles you to 1 Bizspark admin account which in turn can invite up to 4 other sub-accounts.  The main account and sub accounts each are entitled to 3 years worth of the MSDN Ultimate subscription, plus $150 of monthly Azure credits. So basically for $100 and a litlle know-how you get 3 years worth of 5x MSDN Ultimate subscriptions easily worth $180K retail if purchased on a yearly basis. Most of if not all of the keys, invites and admin accounts (well, of course) sold on this forum are from the Bizspark program.

So nobody is losing thousands of dollars from the sale of these MSDN keys.
133  Other / Meta / Re: [REQUEST] Please extend maximum lenght for hero/legendary member signatures. on: March 08, 2015, 12:28:29 PM
You can hide signatures if you don't want to see them. Go to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=profile;sa=theme, if you want to hide.

Yes, I already do that on my mobile account when I am roaming on 3G. On 4G it is not a problem for me because the site loads pretty fast and I don't hit my data cap. It would be nice if there was a setting to hide low quality posts.
134  Other / Meta / Re: [REQUEST] Please extend maximum lenght for hero/legendary member signatures. on: March 08, 2015, 11:37:18 AM

Have any of you requesting such bandwith-sucker improvements ever tried to having to connect to forum with a mobile network? I will not pay an hefty increased mobile bill due to the increase data traffic your increased signature or signature with images bring with them to everyone having the misfortune to read a thread where you have posted something.
Such ideas of ever more lengthy signature and signature with images should be banned for good from bitcointalk community!

It would be hilarous if to download an 80 character one-liner junk post you would also now need to download and pay for an additional 8000 characters of junk signature ad campaign data. The actual text content of many posts are under current 4000 character signature space limit, which is like equal to 30 lines of plain text on a typical screen.
135  Other / Meta / Re: newbie jail on: March 08, 2015, 08:18:10 AM
This is to persuade Theymos to open newbie jail.
Secondbest option, IMO, would be status-based filtering. Instead of lengthy ignore list, being able to set something like "show legendary, heroes and seniors only".

I think you should apologize for writing this. Show only legendary, heroes and seniors posts?Huh This is really anti-social and arrogant. The right to discuss if for everyone.

Fortunately I didn't get this infamous "newbie jail". Also, I wasn't aware of this until the last week because of some random topic.

Also, it's interesting to notice there are a lot of trolls here with the senior status. So, a newbie jail doesn't fix any problem.

Status based filtering would just be a temporary solution anyway, because it's just a matter of time before sig ad shitposters become Hero members.
136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What did you do with your bitcoin today? on: March 08, 2015, 08:10:59 AM
I mined some bitcoins today with my own hardware. And no, I will not sell it any time soon to pay for my electricity and operating costs.
137  Economy / Securities / Re: AMHash1: Cost-Effective Mining Contract on: December 21, 2014, 05:11:33 PM
Does anybody know what time are dividends paid on AMHash.com? Or is it based on when I purchased the hashing power?
138  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: when will all btc be mined? on: December 17, 2014, 10:14:19 AM
My guess ... 2138, because the difficulty change slightly lags the hashrate increase.
139  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SEGVEC CONNED ME OUT OF 14.09 BTC on: December 17, 2014, 10:00:47 AM
I completed $200k in deals in November alone.

Then cover the $5K for you partner's mistake till he can repay you in Feb. Someone who does that much in deals should easily have $5k in reserves.
140  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: FPGA: Any Algorithm? on: December 17, 2014, 09:34:44 AM
One thing is for sure, you can't build anything useful with those $100-$200 FPGA development boards and the low powered FPGAs they come with.
