Okay, before I get flamed I did try a forum search on "paypal personal payments".

Paypal comes up all the time and the verdict is clear, the risk is on the Bitcoin sender side not the person using paypal because of the risk of the chargeback.  But what about personal payments option of paypal.  Since by definition no goods were transmitted wouldn't this help shield the person who sent the Bitcoins?

Thanks for the offer of the Bitcoins.

I've found that http://dailybitcoins.org is by far the best site to get free Bitcoins from.  They just lowered their payout and I don't always get the amount of coins that my record keeping suggests I should (but since they are free I am not complaining) but you can easily get BTC.002 or more each day.  Just try not to think how silly you look smashing the reload button for what is essentially a penny. Wink  I've found it a lot of fun and kind of rewarding to see my balance slowly grow.

Most of the people I've encountered so far seem to think that of the online wallets https://blockchain.info/ has a really good one.

Finally the forums themselves are great.  There is a maintained list of free Bitcoin sites and many members of the community run contests or give-aways to help new people out.

Since you seem to find it interesting, I'd encourage you to stick with it.  Bitcoin seems to offer a lot of potential.

Good Luck!
123  Other / Beginners & Help / Thank You! on: September 15, 2012, 07:09:11 PM
Thank you for the BTC!   Smiley

Thank you also for:
a. Using your gift to motivate me to further explore Bitcoin.
b. Pointing out blockchain.info which really made things simple.
c. Giving me a chance to make some legitimate posts to escape "newbie" land.
d. Educating me about Free Money Day.  Consistent with the premise of the holiday, I'll be sure to pass along at least half of what you sent me.  Probably as a donation to one of the faucets since that seems to be the first place all of us newbies go to get familiar with BTC!

While I'm a newbie my account is too old as I've been trying to learn as much about Bitcoin as I can.  I also don't know about the private key importing.  Still thank you for doing this!  I hope you get a lot of good responses, the faucets are great but limited and the more people who start using BTC the more valuable it will become.  Good luck!

27 - the number of posts you had when you started the contest!

Thanks for doing this:
A. Because .2BTC would increase my BTC worth by about a factor of 10,  and;
B. Because it helps me make a legitimate post to get out of "newbie land."

Seriously thanks!

Thanks for making this listing and for keeping it updated!  As a newbie (obviously) it's really helped me get a few bit pennies and motivated me to learn more about Bitcoin.  The hourly Daily Bitcoins site is really impressive but all of the sites are appreciated and I've learned a lot!  Thanks!

While it's a little frustrating since I lurked for awhile before registering I can understand the "newbie post rule" logic.  Now if I can just figure out some useful posts!

I will say that while my hardware wont allow mining, I am having a lot of fun with the hourly payouts at Daily Bitcoins!  Thanks to all of you that donate to the faucets that help new folks get into Bitcoin.
