121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the number of new investors reduce? on: April 28, 2024, 08:30:02 AM
The halving was a major event that attracted many new investors to bitcoins, some started investing seriously some months to the halving just so to make some profit from it.The halving was what attracted them, but now that the halving has come and gone, do you think that the number of new investors will reduce for the now until the next halving is close again?

After every halving events comes unnecessary worries among investors, I was once like you OP, and thinking this way makes me lose hope in Bitcoin only to be surprised in few months later, if you are smart enough you will hold your Bitcoin like your life depends on it.

So many people will lose hope, it has always happen this way in the past post halving season, and the real redistribution of wealth will start taking place, many will leave and some will accumulate more, while everything keeps looking boring, things will start changing.

Its a trick on the mind if you believe that its over, when it looks like its over is when a parabolic move is gearing up, do not be a fool, you have been warned.

That's how the market works. In my opinion, the market will only grow when people get bored and sell all their bitcoins., the market will never increase in price if there are still many investors who are optimistic and determined not to sell their bitcoins. Market makers won't push the market to high levels for investors to take profits because they won't get anything out of it, but by making things dull and boring, people will feeling disappointed and selling thier bitcoins. Then they will push the market up in people's doubts and people will buy back at high prices and that is when market makers take profits.
122  Economy / Speculation / Re: If China Supports Crypto, Where Can Bitcoin's Price Go? on: April 27, 2024, 05:26:58 AM
Op, China did not completely ban bitcoin and cryptocurrency. Rather what they did was to ban Bitcoin mining and not bitcoin transaction. That is to say that bitcoin transaction is not illegal in China. I have also noticed something in this cryptocurrency industry, and I noticed that with Elon Musk. When Elon smartly took advantage of the cryptocurrency industry to make himself much more money, the crypto enthusiasts thought that he was doing good thing for us but in the end he betrayed. If Elon Musk returns again in the cryptocurrency industry and announce that his Tesla and himself has adopted bitcoin for the second time I am not sure it's going to make wave because people are used to his tactics.
Same thing applies to China, if they announce that the country can now accept Bitcoin mining, surely some miners will relocate to China but the effect will not be massive in the industry.
We won’t expect massive effect at first but eventually, if China will accept bitcoin mining for good, then I really believe that could leave a huge impact to bitcoin price. Same like Elon, knowing how rich and influential his name is, still it will create a positive effect on the crypto market.

Now, going back to China, if they will support bitcoin and all its transactions, not only it will lead to a huge price increase but it will also pave way for a future adoption with bitcoin and its crypto space.

I don't see Elon leaving the crypto market, he doesn't mention bitcoin or dogecoin much on X because he knows this is not the right time. His influence will be even stronger since owning X, not lost as many people think and he knows how to make money in this market, I believe he will not give it up suddenly easy.

China has disappointed us in the past with its ban on bitcoin mining but we should not deny their influence if they actually return to the market and support it. They are one of the countries with the second largest economy in the world and once they participate in any field, it will have a significant impact, not just a small market like cryptocurrency. I also believe that if the Chinese market becomes more crypto-friendly, we will soon see strong growth of the entire crypto market.
123  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why has bitcoin prices not increased just after halving ? on: April 27, 2024, 04:23:49 AM
Bitcoin mining fees has increased considerably today after halving but there are no effect on bitcoin prices. I suggested some friends to invest before and they are blaming me for the suggestion. I told them to wait for final effect as it can take some days for effect on prices but they are impatient.
Short term traders face challenges due to uncertain market turmoil, they blame you because Bitcoin is still under negative pressure after the Halving. Their impatience will always put pressure on you due to the value of their assets continuing to decline, even though the congestion of Bitcoin price movements after the halving is a normal phenomenon and not something new.
The doubts experienced by your friends regarding where the Bitcoin market will go next after the halving event has not seen any significant changes shows that they are not ready for the pressure and negative sentiment that is occurring on Bitcoin. You must direct them to the principle of prioritizing patience because the effects of the Halving do not occur instantly. Point them to the history of Bitcoin's movements after the Halving, the effects of the halving will be felt within a few months after the four-yearly moment occurs.

It is true that based on history, we will soon receive a bull season in a few months when the halving is completed, but we also have no guarantee that everything will definitely repeat, the bull season will have to come. Bitcoin is unpredictable and there are no guarantees in the future, so before giving investment advice in bitcoin to others. We should tell them about the risks they will encounter, tell them that if you want high profits, you must accept high risks. There are no guarantees or certainties about anything, including price increases after halving.

I still hope history will repeat itself, bull season will arrive in a few months but to be honest, there is no guarantee of that.
124  Economy / Economics / Re: The collapse of central banks...Inevitable? on: April 27, 2024, 04:04:52 AM
Man is a social being. People can exist in this gross physical world only if they unite and each does a certain job for the benefit of everyone. In order to exchange goods easily and quickly, money was invented, the form of which changed frequently until it became paper and electronic. All this has been combined into a single financial system, which is controlled by the government, in order to quickly and correctly distribute cash flows for the development of the economy and society as a whole. It is banks that are the instrument for regulating financial flows and have actually become part of the state as the highest form of social structure so far. Therefore, banks will exist as long as states and their governments exist. They may change their name and form, but the essence will still remain the same - regulation of the financial system. Those who assume that money in the state can be decentralized are deeply mistaken. Decentralization of money in the state is allowed, but only as an alternative and with a secondary role in relation to fiat.

In my opinion, there is only one possibility for central banks or fiat currencies to disappear: governments collapse, and if governments collapse, the world economy and society will be leaderless, our world will also collapse.

You're right, maybe things will change and be replaced, but the essence remains the same. Maybe in the future, banks or fiat will disappear, but it will certainly be replaced by a tool created by the government itself, not a decentralized asset like bitcoin. Bitcoin cannot and will never replace banks, and the decentralized economy will not last long, IMO.
125  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Inflation Necessary on: April 27, 2024, 03:44:11 AM
The bitcointalk forum is comprised of diverse people from all over the world. Our countries' must have gone through inflation as a nation at least once or more since its history. As a refresher, inflation happens when the prices of goods and services rise and people can no longer afford those items because the country's money almost becomes useless. But is inflation needed? Why can't we just keep the currency at the same value? And why does it only happen to money? For example, the same wouldn't happen if we used gold as a currency instead. Is inflation a ploy that the government uses so people don't get rich off of savings?
The only way to stop inflation is if we can abolish the use of paper money and return to something real and valuable like gold or Bitcoin. Inflation simply exposes the weakness of paper money and will always happen as long as fiat is in operation because the governments will keep printing unlimited quantity of fiat whose value will diminish over time. Government might device different terms as the causes of inflation but the reality is that inflation is inherent in the fiat system, therefore we can say it is compulsory.
Are you sure and can you explain better how things would work by simply using assets with limited supply like gold or bitcoin as currency, inflation would disappear completely? And as I know, or you can also refer to @Zaguru12's explanation of inflation mentioned above, inflation is not only caused by the government printing money but there are many causes of inflation.

So what solution can you offer for the sudden increase in goods due to the large gap between supply and demand? Because this is also the reason that will cause commodity prices to increase and inflation will also start from there. Don't blame fiat or governments when we don't even understand how this world economy works.
126  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Bitcoin is the only crypto you should BUY on: April 27, 2024, 03:24:52 AM
Yes, bitcoin is the top choice because it is the safest, but to say that when entering the cryptocurrency market we should only buy bitcoin and ignore the rest is a waste. We should not deny that altcoins have greater risk than bitcoin but the profits they bring are also much greater. If someone is willing to take risks, we should not ignore altcoins because their profits are completely commensurate with the risks we take.

Personally, I think where to invest is each person's choice and depends on each person's preferences. Don't try to impose your thoughts on others and assume that others are wrong just because they don't have the same thoughts as you, don't be conservative.
honestly the answer is always diversification, bitcoin is indeed the safest but we can also take the opportunity of diversification to invest in other altcoin out there and still make profit while the risk is significantly reduced.
with diversification at least if some altcoin justn suddenly losing its value we don't really lost all the money.
but if you are really focused on investing in bitcoin thats not wrong too, there's reason why institutional investors and management fund companies are just investing in bitcoin only probably due to the fact that its the safest for investment for most of them and they can't just rely on investing in some altcoins so I guess it is also good to have investment in bitcoin only sometimes.

I would not consider investing in altcoins as diversification to minimize risk because the entire market depends on bitcoin and if bitcoin has problems then the rest will not be safe either. Partially investing in altcoins has only one purpose, which is to take risks to earn higher profits, not to minimize risks.

You cannot compare retail investors with large institutions or investment funds. Similar to why many billionaires and millionaires prefer to invest in gold or real estate and not bitcoin. Our positions and theirs are completely different, so don't make such lame comparisons.

Those who invest completely in bitcoin are not too bad, but those who invest partially in altcoins with the desire to seek higher profits are also not wrong, don't judge others just because they invest in altcoins.
127  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin’s bull run coming to an end? on: April 26, 2024, 08:34:17 AM
The price fell by 3.78% today,Current price $61748.But it’s still a price I can’t afford
Price corrections in the bullish market will still occur and that is something that seems to happen normally. But that doesn't mean the bullish market has ended and will end the rise in Bitcoin prices. don't worry, I think a correction is needed to refuel to be able to slide with a stronger push from below.

For those who are still DCA, the decline is an important moment to take advantage of. As long as we only use cold money. And it's not money we can't afford. Currently the BTC price is still circling not far from the 60 to 65 area. And this indicates that there is a balance between sellers and buyers who are fighting in the market.
Indeed, we are still seeing a bullish market right at the moment. And it will never come to an end despite of this price correction that is pulling the price down. However, this should not create worries on our part because the lower the price it drops, the bigger amount of bitcoin we will be able to purchase, most especially for OP who is trying to fit in his budget so he can start his bitcoin investment. And once it drops, surely it will recover again within few days.
Most people say the same thing every time the price of bitcoin drops but I honestly ask, how many people have money left and how many people will be brave enough to buy more bitcoin if it drops further? Frankly, none of us know what will happen next, is bull season over or not? Nobody knows.

In my opinion, things are changing since the ETF was approved and things are becoming more unpredictable than before so it is inevitable that people will have mixed thoughts.

For me, those who still think that the price increase season has not yet come should continue to accumulate and buy more every time the price drops, while those who feel insecure should stop buying or take partial profits to avoid regret.
128  Economy / Economics / Re: Your aging and retirement plan is your responsibility. on: April 26, 2024, 08:25:17 AM
Diversifying BTC for retirement plans is not really my thing because at the end of the day, there would be no reasonable profit for the original investor and the investor would be left with the choice to either hold or sell when old age comes and if they didn't get to introduce their siblings or grandchildren to BTC , the coins would be lost.
Having crypto as your retirement plan is fine, as long as it is well planned and of course as long as you know how to take profit. Seriously, I’m not too focus about my retirement since I’m living my life everyday to the fullest since I can never know if I can stay alive during my retirement although of course I still prepare for it but it’s not for my self anymore, I prepare for the benefits of my family and crypto can also be a good choice for your retirement option.
I'm not pessimistic but I think I have the same outlook on life as you, besides the fact that we don't know how long we can live, plus life is full of difficulties like today. I even have difficulty maintaining my family's daily living needs, so I don't really dare to think about things like retirement or enjoying life. Between retirement and my children's future, I will prioritize planning for their future more than anything. Therefore, I have never and have no intention of planning for retirement.

Even on this forum there are hundreds of threads talking about inflation and people struggling to deal with it. That shows that the majority are still facing many immediate challenges, how do we have time to think about retirement?

129  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Inflation Necessary on: April 26, 2024, 08:16:25 AM
As a refresher, inflation happens when the prices of goods and services rise and people can no longer afford those items because the country's money almost becomes useless. But is inflation needed?

Inflation doesn’t necessarily mean that the country currency is devaluing but also comes in such a way that the demand for a product or service is way higher than the demand and such people pay higher to get the product. There are other reasons for inflation. Now concerning your the devaluation rate of money as a cause of inflation I think the government can easily afford to make their currency stronger by either reducing the supply of the currency printing or even increase the production and exportation of goods outside the country using the currency as an exchange currency.
The explanation is very good and very convincing. Most people just blame the government and think it's because they print money uncontrollably. Most people just blame the government and think that the reason is because they print money in an uncontrolled way, but what people don't know is that with rapid population growth as well as balancing supply and demand, something that is almost impossible to control. This will also cause inflation, not the main cause being the Government printing money indiscriminately. The world population is up to 8 billion people, each country has different economic policies, so inflation is unavoidable.
130  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you feel that the global economy is declining? on: April 26, 2024, 07:54:03 AM
In fact, what makes salaries smaller is because of the increase in the price of goods that has occurred at this time so that many people feel that their salary has been reduced at this time and have to find another job to support their own income at this time. So that everyone should not complain about any conditions other than having to keep trying in other, more different ways so that they can face the current conditions of increasing prices of goods.

There is no doubt that everyone needs to strive to have more sources of income so that they don't face difficulties in hard economic conditions, but what should actually be done about salaries is that the government and private sectors should increase the wages when there is an increase in the prices of good and services knowing that the cost of living is higher compared to past times and their employees would need more value to sustain in such conditions.

However, we don't see such things happening. There might be one or a few private companies that might think of the well-being of their employees and start an initiative like that but the majority won't do it and their employees will suffer badly in bad economic situations.
I believe that governments and businesses want to increase wages for their people and employees. But that is not as easy as we think because if we also increase wages to match the increase in goods, controlling inflation will be even more difficult, and may even cause economic collapse.

Similarly, instead of increasing wages, why doesn't the Government find ways to reduce commodity prices, simply because they cannot do it and face many difficulties due to related factors. With the design of fiat money that can be printed freely, inflation is inevitable. We need to adapt and the solution of finding extra income is what I find most effective.
131  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Bitcoin is the only crypto you should BUY on: April 26, 2024, 07:47:14 AM
Why people concentrate in buying Bitcoin is because if you have to do with the good potential so when you don't have a potential or understand the movement of Bitcoin you will think that a bitcoin is like other coins especially alt coins so what you have to do is that you have to invest in any coin that I have potential and is also a reputable coin so therefore those coins is worthy for someone to invest on Bitcoin is one of the top coins that have a potential so whoever that is investing in Bitcoin is not making a mistake so I believe our Bitcoin should be a something that we should invest on without anything like fear
For the future, no one doubts that, from what is happening we can see that Bitcoin price movements are quite positive for a long period of time, the price is always able to recover or grow higher.
And we also have to look at it from the side whether it is true or not, there are many comparisons between investing in Bitcoin or Altcoin and I also think for future security we are better off choosing Bitcoin.
However, I don't make that the only investment option because if we want to make big profits then we also have to be brave enough to take risks, namely investing in Altcoins with all the possible risks which will also be worth it with the possible profits that will be obtained.

132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: April 26, 2024, 06:39:29 AM
Roma and Udinese played last 20 minutes of their suspended match because of Ndicka's health accident on field. The match nearly ended as a draw but Roma got three points with a headshot from Cristante at very last seconds of the match.

3 points from this match are helpful for Roma and like double effects for them. They can continue to race with Bologna and at the same time have a safe enough gap against Atalanta. They have similar four points gap against Bologna and Atalanta, four points less than Bologna and four points more than Atalanta. They will try to get the fourth position but will have to secure a fifth position against Atalanta.

The match between Roma and Udinese comes to an end.  Roma was able to win the match.  it was a late goal scored by Cristante, in the 95th minute.  the final score was 2-1  in favour of Roma. now Roma Is still in the fifth position right now.  but I think it is going to be a problem for Udinese to stay out of the relegation zone. Udinese and Frosinone have the same points right now. Udinese is just ahead on goal difference and stay out of the relegation zone. I think they might actually end up being relegated if they do not improve their performance.  Because the team that Is right below them, Frosinone,  has been able to improve their performance recently.  even though they have not been able to win in a while,  they have not lost a single match in the last 4.

if Udinese cannot improve their performance, Frosinone might actually get ahead of them in terms of points. Udinese going to face Bologna and Napoli in the upcoming matches by the way.  and they will also play a match against Frosinone.  so it will be interesting to see which team gets relegated and which team survives this season.

Incredible match from Everton. they were able to play really well in this match. and this result was definitely unexpected for almost everyone in my opinion. That is literally somehow staying away from the relegation zone that was able to beat Liverpool in a 2-0  score.  Liverpool, who are chasing the English Premier League title in this season has been beaten by them which was really unexpected and also must have been frustrating. Is on the third position by having played one more match compared to Manchester City.

Even though Arsenal is in the first position they have also played one more match compared to Manchester City and are only 1 point ahead of Manchester City. Actually, Manchester City has the best chance to win the English Premier League right now.  only if they are able to take advantage of their situation though.

By the way, I also have to give credit to the goalkeeper of Everton. he made some important saves in this match against Liverpool.

Watford is not doing very well. After getting relegated, they have not done well at all. It also felt like the performance from them was getting worse and worse day by day. They definitely needed this change. But for me, it is hard to say that if it is going to be enough for them to improve so much that they get promoted.

Well, promotion is not going to happen in this season. Maybe they will be able to perform better in the next season and get the promotion. But even that looks to be a little hard. Actually, that looks a lot hard. But I think we can safely assume that they will at least be able to improve their performance compared to what they are doing now. right now they are in the 15th position of the championship league, which is basically the second English Premier League.

I'm a Bitcoin fanatic and I'd want people around me to invest in Bitcoin, but I think you're taking this investment thing too far. The best investment one can ever have is relationship. Even with all the money in the world, when you don't have people around you who genuinely love and can stand with you when you need them, then you've nothing. So while you're chasing money don't forget the most important things that matters in life.

I agree with what you say and at the end of the day bitcoin is money, nothing more, nothing less. But today's society is very pragmatic, if you don't have money and don't earn money, do you think someone will always be by your side and take care of you until death? I don't think someone will be respected and have good relationships if they don't have money. Money is not everything, but without money we are nothing, even the relationships we have are difficult to maintain. Therefore, we need to balance everything to have the happiest life, not giving too much importance to one thing and ignoring other things.
136  Economy / Economics / Re: Starting a business without capital. on: April 25, 2024, 08:58:38 AM
Is very possible starting up a business without capital all you need is your ability of pursuing success.
Affiliate marketing is a business you can venture into without capital and still make good money from it, even more than some businesses started with capital.
Affiliate marketing is the process by which a person earns a commission for marketing another person's products.
All you need to start this business is good communication skill in other to sell the product of the other person and get a commission for doing that.
You can decide to market product of different company or person's at same time by doing this you are sure that everyday someone will buy from one of those product's there by making money every day.
When you become an expert in affiliate marketing you will start making profit every day of your life.

So have you started a successful business with affiliate marketing yet? It sounds easy, but when you start you will see that everything is not as you imagined. But affiliate marketing is also a great environment for people who don't have money but want to try their hand at business. It will be a great experience for you to gain more experience on your path to becoming an entrepreneur.
I'm not saying this is bad, but I would rather work hard and save money to open my own business than join this affiliate marketing model.
137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETF approved in Hong Kong on: April 25, 2024, 08:39:27 AM

Speaking of this Hong Kong Bitcoin spot etf approval, they're going to be traded starting April 30. Possible that we'll get some pump after this dump that we've seen recently.

April 24 (Reuters) - Hong Kong-listed spot bitcoin and ether exchange traded funds aim to start trading on April 30, three asset managers that provide the products said on Wednesday.[...]

In late April and early May, we will have a lot of noteworthy news that will have a significant impact on the market. In addition to the news about Hong Kong ETFs that will start trading at the end of the month, we need to pay attention to the CZ trial that will also take place on the same day. Not to mention May 1 is the day the Fed will announce a reduction in interest rates and if the remaining 2 news are negative, I believe that with news about the HK ETF it will be difficult to pull the market back to growth.
I am also waiting for the HK ETF to open, this will have a positive impact on the market but I am not very optimistic about the remaining 2 news.
138  Other / Off-topic / Re: Microsoft doesn't seem to want to keep Windows secure unless you pay more for it on: April 25, 2024, 08:21:35 AM
It’s been a while since I used windows but isn’t it free these days. I remember last time I used it, I downloaded some iso from the Microsoft website and it for some reason never asked for a serial number or had some trial which expired.

I assumed it’s because if you use windows they basically sell your privacy to advertisers and that’s how they get their money back. They already force you to use a Microsoft account and they track your usage and sell that info for advertisers. Hence I stopped using it.
I think not only Microsoft is doing it, but all other technology companies are doing the same thing and as long as we use their devices and services, we will never avoid being tracked by them. From smartphones, computers, gmail, every application... that we are using to serve our daily lives, all are silently collecting our data. You don't use Microsoft products but are you sure that Google, Apple, Samsung products don't do that with your data?
139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I don’t like the term “crypto” on: April 25, 2024, 08:05:34 AM
Hate it or love it, Bitcoin is Crypto. No matter how you want to treat it, it is a cryptocurrency just like we have many others. What I get from people most times is how they think that crypto is a scam and this is always caused by some altcoin, etc. So any thing said about crypto in general or accusations about it still ends up hitting all innocent cryptocurrencies, especially Bitcoin. But it is what it is.

Exactly, that's my thought. Yeah, there are a lot of scams in the crypto space, but scam schemes always existed with fiat too, people still use it, and they don't have the word "money" or "currency". Not calling BTC crypto because there are other coins that are used to do shady stuff is like not calling yourself an American, when you're an American, just because you don't like what some other Americans do. That doesn't define you, just like it doesn't define BTC.

Even if bitcoin were completely separate from cryptocurrencies, but with such high profit potential and volatility, I believe scammers would come up with scams and label bitcoin projects of them. There's no way to avoid those.

The cryptocurrency industry is only in its early stages and is free, so it is inevitable that fraudulent projects will be created unchecked. But I believe that as things develop and regulations are introduced, scam projects will gradually disappear, but besides that, we will pay the price of no longer being free.

People who support OP's ideas are because they are bitcoin maximalists and they hate altcoins, but they will never change the fact that bitcoin is an important part of the crypto industry  Grin Grin.

I was actually a little worried about Arsenal. I did not know how they were going to perform against Chelsea. But now I actually feel sorry for Chelsea. The way they lost the match against Arsenal was absolutely incredible. Chelsea is in the ninth position right now. I do not think any good improvement is going to be seen by them anytime soon.

Well, at least not this season for sure. The performance from Arsenal is actually going to give hope to other clubs that have to face Chelsea in the upcoming matches. And this has made the English Premier League to three positions a lot more interesting. Even though it looks like Manchester City is in the third position, I still believe that Manchester City has the best chance to win the English Premier League title. Because remember Manchester City has played two matches less compared to Arsenal and one match less compared to Liverpool.
