121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do bookies allow cashouts?  on: August 17, 2024, 02:26:13 PM
Just recently seen this but few casino offering this kind of user friendly feature for those people who knows the possible outcome of the game it's a good thing because they can now make a cutloss to their game insteading lossing all you have an option to partially have at least with your wage amount, other casino just offer once you put already your money it's all about winning or lossing the game. This feature not offering full payment cash out to their players of course so they can still earn with this feature or be like consider as fee.
The cash out option is in favor of both the gambler and the bookie because if the gambler decided to cash out, it shows that he appreciates the little profits that he has already made on the games that came out as predicted and that gives him an option to walk away with his little profit or continue playing. It is just like a gambler gambling in a casino and is on his winning streak and decided to continue playing because he feels his luck will continue shinning instead of walking away.

On the other hand, the casino will also be prevented from paying huge should incase all the game comes out as predicted. But from my own point of view, the cash out feature is more in favor of the casino.

Yes, no question it does favor the casino.

As to this article, these negative factors are being discussed. So the conclusion is that this option would only make us addicted.

Quote
Highlights

Cashing out is a popular gambling feature that has been linked to problem gambling.

In our sample, 51.8% of participants reported using the cash out feature.

Using the cash out feature was associated with motivations to gamble to make money.

The cash out feature was associated with increased psychological vulnerabilities.

Motives for cashing out were to cut losses, gain money, and related to risk level.

Those sentences that were bolded are the most alarming because they're associated with how we feel when gambling using the cash-out option. So, I guess it's not really helping us at all. Instead, it only makes us emotionally involved until we get too attached to it, leading us to make decisions we might regret in the end.

Check your bookies now, as the PBA will start tomorrow with only one game, but it's a big one.

Odds are available, here's the spread and total:
Magnolia -2.5 vs Bolts +2.5
Total: 190.5

My pick here is the Bolts moneyline because they were the champions last season and have a very good import, so I'm quite surprised they're listed as the underdog.
123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The trap of high volatility on: August 17, 2024, 04:25:36 AM
I thought you were referring to the high volatility of the price when I saw the thread title, but I was surprised that different factors were discussed, involving RTP and the house edge. I'm not well-versed in RTP, but I know that with the house edge, regardless of its size, we would still lose in the long run. Games with a house edge are called luck-based games, so any strategy you think of would never guarantee long-term success, as that would never happen. This won't be a trap on your end if, from the beginning, you already understand that you can't beat the house since they have an edge.
124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Edgar Berlanga - September 14 on: August 17, 2024, 03:18:55 AM
No, I won't be putting my money on Berlanga. He is a huge underdog and he deserves it. And although he may not be like a chick thrown into a snake's pit, in terms of skills it is obvious that Canelo has the upper hand. I'm just interested in how an unknown yet younger, undefeated, taller boxer would solve the puzzle in Canelo. I'd be happy if he succeeds.
This boxer has no chance of beating Canelo, as Canelo knows how to choose opponents he can easily dominate. Although Canelo is strong, he doesn't have the quickness of Mayweather or the talent of Pacquiao. To protect his legacy, Canelo would rather fight an unknown boxer than risk facing a more popular opponent who could potentially beat him. Easy job for him, right?

Yeah, I agree, Golovkin was robbed of a victory perhaps not just once but twice, the first match being very obvious. Adalaide Byrd has proven himself a blind d*ck in their first fight. GGG was unfortunately defeated in their second rematch though.
That's why the trilogy was realized, but as we saw in that fight, GGG was no longer in his prime, as he was already old at that time. In the trilogy, it was obvious that Canelo won, but he could not knock out an aging GGG.
125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Max Win is the worst thing that could happen to you. on: August 16, 2024, 01:51:02 PM
Most of the big websites nowadays allow you to KYC before depositing
If you plan to use a website that has kyc and deposit big the best option is to kyc before winning big, that is for sure
Because otherwise you may win big and end up not being able to withdraw
I'm just curious, for the popular casinos here like the one in your signature, I know they don't strictly require KYC before you can gamble with them. Do they have complaints from gamblers that their winnings were not withdrawn because their account was not KYC compliant yet? I ask this because there are gamblers who fear this possibility, and to prevent it from happening, they'll request the casinos to accept their KYC in advance.
126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: August 16, 2024, 12:51:55 PM
We will see if how the Bucks will bounce this season I think they are not that good when Dame been traded while Giannis suffer to an injury and they let Jrue go after that big help he did when they make it to the finals and win a title, there are expectations with those known contenders in the East but yes, Boston still a good team to beat and maybe they can still win another title with the same core that they've got.

They learned their lesson the hard way. The guy they traded won a championship with the Celtics, and now the team is struggling with defense. I don't know how exciting their next season will be, but since I don't see any significant changes to the team, I wouldn't expect them to be a championship contender.

Nothing will be change since there's no impressive changes happen to them. They just waste holiday which is totally more helpful for their team. Now we see how they struggle and automatically became a  trash team after they made that move.

Although they are still strong since they have Giannis and Lillard but it seems they are struggling to figure out their system and also in defensive end.

But let see if there's changes and we could able to see Bucks became an exciting team to watch in upcoming season.

There's a big reason why Portland gave up Lillard, and that's because he's not in his prime anymore. The Bucks gambled on him, and now they're paying the price, especially with Giannis's injury being a huge factor. I think they really messed up everything, starting from acquiring Lillard and then changing to a new coach despite maintaining a good standing.

I understand that they wanted more, but instead of seeing an improvement, it resulted in a big struggle for the whole team. So next season will be another test to see if the roster and the new coach will really work. I hope there are no more excuses, as one season should be enough for a new and veteran coach to handle and improve a team.
127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 PBA Governor's Cup on: August 16, 2024, 12:16:56 PM
Robinson III might be bringing decent help for Magnolia's campaign in this upcoming season, having that experienced they will be able to maximize him and give the team decent stats, let see if local players will give him the help that he needs to be more competitive knowing that opponent's got their star imports with that current champ experienced and having Durham we will see if they will continue that winning attitude against Magnolia.

This will be the first season where we won't be seeing Jalalon anymore. I admire this guy's hard work in his game, as he brought a lot of energy to the team. But probably because he made some bad mistakes, he was traded to other team. Hopefully, Magnolia is still as competitive as they were before, or maybe they'll improve a bit, as this is the season that teams, except Ginebra and Meralco, will have to play harder to be championship contenders.

The team I'm worried about now is TNT. I think their locals aren't as competitive as before, so they should bring in a good import who can carry the team, someone with the same quality or even better than Brownlee.
128  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I have realized more that patience is all that it takes on: August 15, 2024, 10:56:04 PM
Patience is useful when you have a clear definition of trading and how you deal with profit and loss, but without that, it is not logical to be patient with a losing investment. On the contrary, sometimes knowing that you made a bad deal and closing it with minimal losses is better than continuing to lose your investment.
Exactly. No one is good enough to stretch his patience more if he has no idea itself how trading works. Because if we observe new traders these days, patience has no room in them but it's more on greed and taking decisions impulsively and rush into trading without weighing its possible outcome. However, for real experienced traders, patience is all that it takes for them so they can maximize profits in trading and avoid possible losses.
129  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why we need to prioritize risk management, as a trader! on: August 15, 2024, 09:38:14 PM
I guess in all hustles that comes with uncertain outcomes, risk management should be highly applied. What you can't risk, then you don't have to pursue doing it because it will only result into despair and frustration. But with risk management, you are aware of your own limits, just trade on what you can afford to lose and trade at your own risk.
130  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 PBA Governor's Cup on: August 15, 2024, 05:09:34 AM
Guys, there's a good news to those that wants to watch the upcoming PBA games this 49th season. Read for more details about the 49 pesos worth of ticket this upcoming Sunday. If you are close to the venue, smart araneta coliseum, don't miss it.

Wow an expected jampack araneta with that ticket price, I'm pretty sure the teams that will compete during the opening are capable to bring more fans by sponsoring the tickets, a good way to promote PBA and bering that huge crowds again, though it's just for the opening but the impact might bring decent entertainment for those fans who are near to the location.

Or, even those people who will going to drop by they can watch if the ticket still available and have some enjoyment watching the game live.

Desperate move but a smart one. The ticket prices clearly indicate that they aren't attracting the expected number of audiences anymore. With this pricing strategy, it will be easier for them to fill the arena. Even if this is just a promo, it's a good start for a struggling PBA league. I'm looking forward to the season opening this Sunday, perfect for some family time while watching the game.

Better late than never. I think that was the cheapest ticket at the venue, so that's definitely going to attract the attention of the fans. We should see a good turnout during the opening this Sunday. I'm also thinking of placing a bet, and I'll make sure to put down a decent amount during the opening game. I've been on a betting break for a while, and I kind of miss the thrill, even if it means losing money, LOL.
131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs TJ Doheny 122lb Title fight-September on: August 15, 2024, 03:23:00 AM
For most of the opponents of Naoya Inoue they tend to fight for survival and not fight to win so i think TJ Doheny will do the same but i also think that sooner or later, Inoue would catch on him and will knockout Doheny in the later rounds and their might be a chance that this could go the distance if Doheny will not engage early hehe.
This is a reality we can't deny. Inoue is called "the Monster" for a reason, and he lives up to that name. If his opponent gets too aggressive, it often leads to an early KO win for Inoue. So, it's really up to his opponents whether they want to try to prolong the fight and risk getting caught later on or gamble and go for an early finish. Of course, upsets can happen, so we can't completely discount that possibility.

No odds yet if the fight goes the distance in my favorite crypto bookies but i do believe that it would be huge as most of us including the bookies think that this fight would end vis knockout.
The current odds aren't interesting. We'll have to wait as the fight gets closer to see more markets. That way, we can choose from a wider range of options and find what we're looking for.
132  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't rush you will still win on: August 14, 2024, 11:57:46 PM
This is why newbies should accept the fact and internalize that patience is the key factor to win in trading. If they show no patience, that means they have no time to research well, and harness their strategies and skills in trading since they end up rushing in trading and lose their funds in an instant. If only they will understand that market condition varies and keeps changing, then they will probably realize that it’s essential to wait for the right timing to trade so they won’t end up trading at loss due to lack of trading knowledge and market analysis.
133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Gold which is worth investing in? on: August 14, 2024, 09:54:42 PM
Gold and bitcoin may actually become long term profitable investments. However, aside from its similarities, there are also some remarkable advantages that only bitcoin can offer. While gold cannot beat inflation, bitcoin on the other hand has always an edge over inflation. Bitcoin's decentralization and high security create signs of superiority compared to gold, although not everyone has seen this reality.
134  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Anything like last chance to invest in Bitcoin or last bearish of the ATH on: August 14, 2024, 09:29:47 PM
You know what, I don't think this is applicable for now seeing bitcoin still gain high demand as an investment. But if you can make this a motivation and just invest all you can because this could probably the last chance to invest, then this will definitely create a positive outcome. Invest in bitcoin like it could be the last opportunity to do it, that way you will be motivated to buy a lot of bitcoin as long as you only spend your hard-earned money, not from taking loans or borrowing some funds from family or friends.
135  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is now a good time to sell or buy bitcoin? on: August 13, 2024, 11:58:34 PM
Now that bitcoin is experiencing a price drop, is now a good time to buy or sell it?
Buy when the price is low and sell when the price is high. If you stick to that basic rule, you will never be misguided in your investment. And since btc price still show signs of dropping, hence never resort into selling but grab the opportunity to buy more bitcoin and hold.

However, if you have been hodling for the longest time and with the current price you have seen already huge profits, then sell. At the end of the day, you know your investment well and for sure you won’t do abrupt decisions that will make you lose a lot in the process.
136  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which one is better. Bitcoin or gold? on: August 13, 2024, 10:50:51 PM
If you want an asset that is less volatile and is more safe haven in the days to come, then invest in gold. Its value may consistently move upward without having such threats to suddenly move at the bottom.

However, if you want to be more thrilled and excited with your investment and get rich in the long run, trust bitcoin instead and invest on quite a big capital. The risk to lose is high but the chances to make you an instant millionaire  is also high. Just buy and hold for couple of years without getting tempted to sell, I'm sure you will make impressive and excellent profits in the future that will terribly change your life status after that.
137  Economy / Economics / Re: You need to become rich soon becouse world getting harder on: August 13, 2024, 09:55:05 PM
If only getting rich is never hard and difficult to achieve, then I guess everyone will not suffer anymore from being poor while starving to death. But reality is, it takes a lot of hard work and efforts, and various opportunities that will lead you to live at its fullest. Everyone wants to be rich but not everyone is capable to take the risk and survive. That's why there are those who are left being poor and homeless, while those highly fortunate ones, they end up getting richer and richer.

Commissioner Willie Marcial said games will be played from Tuesday to Sunday, with Monday serving as rest day.

Before, the game would start at Wednesday, then Friday to Sunday. Now, there's only one day off which is Monday, so we will be seeing more action and more fun with betting. How do you like this news?
139  Economy / Economics / Re: Becoming the homeless and poor it's new Normal now days on: August 12, 2024, 11:52:58 PM
Homeless people are increasing in our community. There are many educated people who are jobless and they have no money to eat and they have not enough money to meet the basic expenses. More the so called educated people, more the jobless people. Government will not do anything for the public but public have to do in this case. Government is taking advantage of money and many powerful persons are in the politics abd they took advantage of that money and grew up factories and colonies. They made assets and bought foreign properties from the money of poor people and they are sucking the blood of poor people. They are becoming richer and richer due to compounding.

It's terrible. Having to study hard for years, only to find out there are limited options available in the job market. Most educated people either switch careers or stay homeless and poor. You can see how bad the economic situation is worldwide. Not only in third-world countries, but also developed countries like the US, the EU, and Japan.

It's disappointing to see how central banks and governments are in denial of the current situation. They keep spreading lies that inflation in being put under control and the economy is booming again. Things won't change until unemployment rates skyrocket like crazy. Once tax revenues start to decline, that's when governments will take action. Who knows how long will it take before things go back to normal?
Until the government will act as blind and deaf with how the current people’s economy are going now, then there’s less chances for all these things to get back to normal. The problem with the government is that they continue to favor more the rich people and ignore the needs of the poor. Simply because they can always fulfill their personal interests by siding on the wealthy men, which they cannot do if they side on the less fortunate ones.  But of course, they will remain in denial to that, and leave the people with no choice but to find ways to live life for mere survival.
140  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Price of bitcoin can't be constant on: August 12, 2024, 10:51:17 PM
When there are discussions like that and upon hearing someone says that they've got some certain price, I think that's also their thought of buying more and that's fine. Everyone has a speculation and some prices roaring on their minds on how much Bitcoin can be as its floor price. We've seen it having some flash crash and pulled back to $49k and it's true that price can't be constant as you won't see that on a volatile asset that keeps on fluctuating from time to time. We cannot be sure on how long it will stay on the current price but then, long term holders won't have to be bothered with such.
Anyone can create price speculations for bitcoin, and there's no one who is right or wrong since none of us can't be certain about the future price of bitcoin. But one thing that I'm sure of, bitcoin price will never constantly move upward or downward since it's value is more on pumping or dumping due to bitcoin's high volatility. And if you are passionate investing in bitcoin and hodling it like there's no plan of selling, I think that's a good thing because that kind of mindset will surely make profitable gains in the end, unlike those who are still doubting when to hold and when to sell.
