121  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Building a rig, which of these cards are best? on: April 09, 2013, 10:12:56 PM
Nave comment on the difference in the 2 cards is GOOD.  Grin

It all depends on your type built, closed case with lots of fans or no case on risers.

122  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Mining Rig Help/Advice on: April 09, 2013, 10:03:35 PM
look at similar treads  Grin

but the big lines are :
small cpu, equal cpu ram to Vram
good powersupply

when many graphics cards use riser

no case or a case with lots of fans

use AMD cards, the 7950 is among the best new.
123  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Namecoin GUI on: April 09, 2013, 09:32:51 PM
you don't mine NMC you get them for FREE from your pooll like Bitminter.com  Grin

124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: To mine or not to mine? on: April 09, 2013, 09:30:59 PM
that's a nice case with big fans and 3 7950 , a bit expensive but not by too much.  Grin

the problem is the 11 days delai (5 to make and 6 shipping) what will be the price in 11 days ? Try to have the same kit built locally or order from newegg. Cool

125  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 7950 or 7970 for mining rig on: April 09, 2013, 01:31:49 AM
that mobo only has 3 pcie*16 slots so you need at least 1 riser 1 to 16  Grin

If you have the money go for 7970, but why not 5 * 7950 if you use riser ?

also sparkle is not the best kind, go to jonnyguru and check his evaluation of big PS.
126  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Miner does not use GPU - only CPU - 3KH/s! on: April 09, 2013, 01:17:01 AM
I think I have the same problem as you WINDOWS XP !

GUI MINER SCRIPT says Windows Vista, 7 or 8 !

I'M waiting for a confirmation to my post on that subject.
127  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: New to mining, few questions. on: April 09, 2013, 01:14:25 AM
1. Is 50% GPU load going to slow down web browsing? If so, how about 30%? I know this can depend case to case but what is average estimate? I browse will mining with 2 6970
2. 1GH/s, pool mining? How long would it take you average to get 50BTC at current difficulty? current difficulty is IRRELEVENT difficulty will jump by 10X to 100X the price of bitcoin is also important
3. How much mhashs HD7670m gets?not much since it's the mobile version I'd guess 15Mhs
4. What pool best suits someone with 1GH/s? anypool I use BITMENTER since it's ASIC ready.
5. 4th question for 5GH/s see 4

Thanks
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / litecoin miner under WINDOWS XP ? on: April 09, 2013, 01:04:41 AM
Hello

It seems that GUI MINER SCRIPT needs windows Vista, 7 or 8.  Grin

Do you know a miner that runs under Xp ?   Huh

merci

YES I did uninstall the nvidia driver and install the AMD driver for Xp 32 bits
Power down correctly each time I wrote power down.

yeah below is slow and tedious but may work.

1) power down  wait 60 seconds

2)make sure only the amd card is in machine .

3)boot uninstall again nvidia first if it say nothing detected  power off machine. wait 60 seconds

4)boot try again if it still says undetected. power off machine. wait 60 seconds

5)boot uninstall the amd power off the machine wait 60 seconds

 6) boot install the amd power off the machine

7) boot check your java install if good go to bitminter and try.

sometimes the drivers don't fully uninstall and or install if you boot with a restart.  full power down works.

thanks

So it's supposed to work with Xp ?
130  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Request for feedback: New BTC rig! on: April 08, 2013, 11:18:29 PM
spend less on CPU and RAM et more on the graphic cardS
The graphic card is what does the job of mining.
you don't need that wattage for 1 medium graphic card.

I changed my video card from a Nvidia to an AMD (7970) on XP SP3 and now BITMINTER doesn't reconize my card, no OPEN CL. Angry

AM I to understand after some recherch, that AMD doesn't support OPEN CL on XP anymore ?  Huh

Any way to make it work ?     I don't whant to pass to SEVEN on that computer.
133  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Choosing the right GPU on: April 08, 2013, 03:14:59 AM
LTC need VRAM so any card that has the full backend, so no 7790 or 7870 tahiti Le, except those 2 prety much anything goes. Find a used 6950 or better yet 2 and unlock the shaders. Grin
136  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Thinking of getting some 7870's, advice? on: April 08, 2013, 02:52:44 AM
1) YES, every PCIe graphic card card is compatible with any modern motherboard , the difficulty is many graphics cards on the same mobo. You sould try to find a 7870 MYSt with the Tahiti LE instead.

2) Huh difficulty will explode so revenue will drop if the price does not skyrocket again.

3) I say a mont or 2 before you have to change to LTC
137  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Received Jalapeno recently? When did you order? on: April 08, 2013, 02:45:46 AM
nothing shipped yet  Sad

if you order now not before end of summer is my guess  Huh
138  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: build new system - 7970 + 7870 is crazy? on: April 08, 2013, 01:37:36 AM
on the 7870 try to find a Tahiti LE version like the MYST. Grin
139  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Choosing the right GPU on: April 08, 2013, 01:08:26 AM
6870 gets 250Ghs in real life and is too expensive at 200$, find it used for half that.
new get a 7790 for 150$ that get you 250Ghs good for btc but bad for ltc
140  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Need help/suggestions for budget rig on: April 08, 2013, 12:56:07 AM
to mine BTC ram is not important, to mine LTC RAM is important  Grin
