121  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS Brand New Macbook Pro on: June 20, 2013, 06:28:17 PM
my guess is, that's a macbook pro mid 2012

but my question is, if you want BTC why not just by the coin
I don't think once the laptop box is open, it still worth as much as you paid for.

I guess it's just a defect product and successfully bypass their QA
or maybe a bug walked in and short the circuit
124  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Powercolor 7950's, engine/memclock jumping around? on: June 16, 2013, 01:56:05 PM
Thanks for the advice guys, but I think it was just something with the cheapo powercolors. I upgraded to Sapphire Vapor-X 7950s and they are running like champs at 1100 engine and 1500 memclock at 1640KH/s  Grin

er.........that's not true

I have exactly the same card, actually exactly the same number of cards in my rig, and it's hashing @ 1640 like champs @ 1.013v with significant lower frequency then your Sapphire configuration.  All on risers.
You just need to find those cards sweet spot, it's doable. Cheesy

the only cons of this card is the fan noise, that kills me
just swap to accelero Xtreme Plus II, and I never see 70C again  Cheesy

copy and add them to your luckycoin.conf, and restart your wallet.

I feel lucky today, I started solo since last night and just dig out my first 588 block this morning right after a normal 88 block Cheesy Cheesy
130  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 1000w enough for four 7900 cards? on: June 01, 2013, 01:45:03 PM
thanks for all your replies

en......have another thought, can I add another 500w e.g Corsair cx500 on top of the 1000w to run the 4 7900 rig?
I mean in terms of wattage this time it should be enough, but is it safe enough to do it this way?

I might have some misinformation that cards, wires, PSU itself get burned because of this kind of setup, so I am a little hesitate

131  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / 1000w enough for four 7900 cards? on: June 01, 2013, 09:41:54 AM
I need to rearrange some of my cards
Currently I am running 3*7950 + 1*7850 on a 1000w platinum psu
and I am thinking to swap out the 7850 and add a 7970 instead

if I undervolt all my cards (they are all working @ 1.05v happily), and put mem clock to insanely low
on a 775 E7200 platform with 1 RAM and 1 SSD

am I pushing the PSU too hard?
132  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Lots of pc hardware(watercooling, psus, cases, ram, etc) on: May 30, 2013, 04:56:25 PM
can you give more info on the Eco-120 120mm? Like what exactly is missing?

It seems the MOUNTING part is missing, which means you can't mount it to any board.
don't take my answer I am just guessing, and I also want to know exactly what's missing Tongue

137  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASICMINER Blade Sales on: May 28, 2013, 03:02:37 PM
$6500 for 10GHs! (Shipped?)

Wow, I was not expecting that much of an expense... Cheaper than a GPU setup, Huh ...

10GHs = ~15x 7970's = $6000 (But still needs 3x mobo-setups... +$600, and 3500W of PSUs 5x750 +$250 -$50 {blade needs one too})
Total GPU setup = $6800... (Minus games 15x$25 = $375) = $6425 (And you can resell the cards and hardware, not so-much with the blades.)

PASS

You can push 12x 7970's to 10GHs... and save another $1400+, = $5025 for 10GHs (Only 2 mobo's and one less PSU) *Not wise to do... lol, it will be a 100% loss after one year.

... And still scrypt mine alt-coins, and play games. Tongue

mathematically correct
but if you factor in space, power consumption and heat dispersion that's a different story.
I guess people like to invest 6500 in miner, they have more faith in BTC success Wink
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mining vs Litecoin mining on: May 28, 2013, 02:57:08 PM
I observe CoinChoose and Dustcoin for a while and notice that LTC and NVC are usually on par with BTC or sometimes a little premium to BTC, their values are fairly stable ATM.

For other altercoins, they are jumping like clowns, you start to mine some coins show enormous profit and after coins are confirmed its profitability may plunge to only half of BTC, these coins get listed so soon and early adopters dump them once they are listed.

So,
if you want a "diversified portfolio" of coins go with BTC, LTC and NVC
if you want to speculate for enormous profit,  mine coins before they hit any exchange (risky, but yet profitable), it's late when you see it on CoinChoose or Dustcoin IMO
139  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Gigabyte Z77 UD3H Motherboard on: May 27, 2013, 12:49:42 AM
does it come with original retail package and all accessories?
and also do you ship to Canada?
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] USCoin - Here's the change! [USC] on: May 25, 2013, 03:15:00 AM
my screen show currently 2.05K

and interestingly my wallet shows Number of transactions:4
but I only see one block confirmed and
there is no more blocks show up in Transactions

Transactions that don't appear are orpans, but show accepted in cgminer

oh, lesson learned, thanks.

so with the current difficult level of 0.0312522, I got 1 block confirmed, 4 orpans and dozens of rejected.... Sad
