right now im betting nxt for the long run as they are developing services on top of the platform at blazing speed compared to any other coin I've seen right now. the only contender i feel to be a threat is ethereum as they do have large amounts of following and developers waiting to build on top of that platform. i see it as a race to acquire the top devs to create the "kill app" or the "facebook" app of the crypto world where everyone would use it even those not familiar with crypto. its this holy grail app/service that sits on top of the blockchain that would really skyrockect bitcoin along with an "innovative" altcoin that implements it. i say go where the devs are and those that show much progress. regardless btc is here to stay as its the gateway to the fiat world. its just which 2.0 crypto will prevail and right now its nxt vs ethereum imo.

seeing that nxt is top right now. how fast do you think ethereum will catch up once they release in march 2015 supposedly? they do have a good following too and bigger it seems.

if your in it just to make money by buying the coins. forget nxt as you'll be more worried about distribution and constantly watching it. i tend to go for nxt because of the innovative features it has right now compared to other cryptos. the platform is solid and as a dev building on top of this is getting ahead of the curve... we can all wait for ehtereum / counterparty / coinprism to get these similar feature sets, but until then i'll just work with what works currently.

would be interesting if there was a way to create a dynamic password generator that is somehow linked to your mobile with with an app like google authenticator when using nxt login.

fyi: nxt assets can be withdrawn from bter now... unfortunately not nxt tho.

alot of the scenes seemed staged. im sure they had to setup camera angles first. im sure he didnt magically go into the shop and all of a sudden the camera get the perfect shot!

I was wondering if there was any gambling site that accepts NXT (nxtcoin)? thanks

nxt forging wasn't intended to making the miners rich. forging actually makes very little money as the emphasis on nxt is its platform and not people just forging to make a quick buck. I think nxt forging will be taken on by people that are building applications on top of it and regular users of the platform. Currently there are over 200+ nodes on the nxt network to support it and having more isn't going to change much.
NXT killer feature is its team behind it as they have proven again and again on releasing an amazing platform. Only problem is the lack of marketing compared to ethereum even though they have nothing out.
By the end of the year I can forsee nxt taking out dogecoin easily at the least.

nxt is going to be big contender this year compared to the other coins. its just waiting for that click event when someone decides to build a useful app on top of it.
|
|
|
i must say nxt is one of the major underrated coins out there. the stuff they have so far is a bit mind blowing to whatever one else is just building. its sad that they dont have the marketing down.

this just went live it seems... alot of MS coins out now it. this can totally help out small community altcoins.

i too thought this was going to be a scamcoin myself, but their development output is proving otherwise. its sad to see nxt getting all this negative publicity, while they just keep cranking out stuff non-stop. they seem to have the monetary system out this week, its going to kill the altcoin market it seems. its nxt's sidechain implementation: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2Fj3luomW.png&t=663&c=yu9M0oQBLCdvdQ)

2014 is closing, what is some of the monumental points we would tell people that happened in the Bitcoin world?
- Big Business Accepts BTC: Newegg / Dell / What else?
- More development in 2.0 technologies (counterparty / ethereum / colorcoins / nxt / etc.)
I'm sure I missed out a bunch. what else would there be?

thanks for the feedback... the additional android device should be optional as that would really shoot the price up to at least 50-100. Do you think people would spend that much on a starter kit type of thing? where it would contain a brochure / paper wallet / bitcoin memorbilia / and android phone ? I mean how much do you think people would pay?

I combined a few elements I made this year for the Bitcoin fair here in nyc and decided maybe it would be a nice gift set for this coming Christmas. I noticed there just isnt any good bitcoin starter gift sets anywhere so I made the following. Your thoughts on how it can be improved would be appreciated. https://www.etsy.com/listing/198521425/ultimate-gift-set-physical-bitcoinI haven't sold any yet, but I just gave them away as Bday gifts this year. I was actually suppose to combo it with an android phone with mycellium preinstalled to really get our friends and family on the bandwagon. i can get cheap android phones for relatively low cost ($20-$30), but I haven't worked on that version yet. Hopefully I can whip something out by Christmas.

I've been in the crypto space for some quite some time and I honestly must say I have seen many many coins come and go. Some are very innovative and even have fair distribution, but they still do not catch on due to many factors. It's really the active developers creating the truly innovative stuff that stands out at the end.
Bitcoin will always be the gold in my eyes and i'm sure everyone else as its what everyone knows about. Given a few more years we'll see that there will be a few main coins competing for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place marketcap coins. I believe NXT will be in one of these competing coins.
It's pretty mind boggling what nxt has built so far while it gets all the trolling it does. I too was trolling on nxt in the beginning as I thought it was just all talk about what they wanted to do and the fact that only 75 people initially started it out. But overtime I just don't care about the distribution anymore, because if NXT keeps at this pace and keeps on building out this feature set, people will just come for the features and not the coin itself. A very good analogy that someone mentioned is, poker. There are gamblers out there that want to play poker, they dont care what currency it is, because at the end of the day they will just cash it back out to USD or BTC.
I don't care about the NXT coin itself, I'm just with NXT on the features they have developed so far.
It's quite crazy that NXT has the first production ready decentralized marketplace while open bazaar is just still in testing.
