121  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 29, 2021, 06:37:33 PM
Of course, historically I have frequently posted about the mature investor who already has some kind of investment portfolio and therefor I have always suggested for that kind of investor to figure out a way to allocate 1% to 10% into bitcoin, and there is largely ONLY vague reference to what the other investments might be because that would be largely off topic here.. and then if there is a brand new investor who does not have any other investments, then we would be more interested in establishing his/her bitcoin investment rather than figuring out what other investments that person might have or be considering... and I am not even opposed to starting out with only bitcoin and cash, and then once the bitcoin and cash portfolio is built up, then perhaps figuring out diversification after that, yet again there seems to be hardly any need to discuss what those other investments might be, if any.
This probably is not good investment advice but I think diversifying instead of investing all you can in Bitcoin would be a poor choice. Bitcoin is the most revolutionary thing that exists today and even if it is not used as a mainstream currency the potential to earn on it is bigger than any market I have invested in previously. I have researched many hours on what the best things are to invest in and my conclusion is the property market is always ok to invest in because there will always be demand and Bitcoin because the demand in freedom is always going to be higher than what we have in fiat. I think diversifying is good because you are not risking all your eggs in 1 basket but I think if you are not investing all you can afford into Bitcoin now you will lose out.

On many of my lightning channels I charge no fee.  On some high traffic channels (that are not mainly streaming payments, or channels with a country that NEEDS BTC (Cuba, ES, Afghanistan, Venezuela)) I charge an absolutely minimal fee, in theory to discourage attacks, though I am not sure if 2 satoshis is enough to have an anti-spam effect on a ~$500 payment, lol...

Who says lightning can only handle very small payments?  My little computer the size of an Altoids tin routed a successful >1000000 sat payment!  And does frequently.  And I rake in a whopping $0.00097.  It'll take more than 100 of these to make me a whole penny.

I am watching my traffic very carefully, and it is most certainly increasing.  My channel with Podcast Index is my favourite with payments commonly between 1-3 satoshis.  I have records of facilitating payments EACH SECOND to this node at 3 satoshis each...  This is letting a podacaster earn $5hr for their content instead of the $3/hr they would earn if each of the forwards I took just 1 SAT.

Yes, I am losing potential revenue... But I am also avoiding having to report that as income lol.  And my very biggest reason to do it is to make it possible for these pioneers to spin this thing up and make it work.

Here is a fun little segment from my logs... with some of the sensitive info XXXX'd out. Wink  3 sats per second!  My raspberryPi is helping make streaming payment possible!!!!

I am certainly not against lightning node operators making money for routing payments... But I have to admit, I wonder if there are more people like me out there if it will make this catch on a little quicker?
Imo this is how the lightening network should operate in the future. I said in another topic that the problem with Bitcoin is the fees and the complexity of setting up Lightening nodes but if we can get people to not charge much for operating a Lightening node then the incentive for people adopting Bitcoin compared to credit cards will go up. Atm vendors are accepting credit cards because they are instant and they have no fees but in time when Bitcoin gets more popular vendors will be encouraged to accept Bitcoin but the only problem for them would be people would still be more likely to pay with their credit cards because of the fees. Although if we can get more people like you setting up Lightening nodes with little fees the incentive of customers paying in Bitcoin increases and then more vendors will want to accept Bitcoin increasing its adoption and improving the price for all of us.

The only problem we have a lot of people do not see past that they can earn money while operating a node and processing transactions but if they saw that reducing their commission for increased adoption would benefit them more. I have to ask does what you earn processing transactions pay for the electricity that you are using to operate the node because those are some very small fees.

Football is cruel Wolves have dominated the match and have been close to scoring multiple times. Then Paul Pogba goes into a challenge with his studs up and fortunately does not connect with the wolves player but the wolves player dives and then seconds later the ball is in the back of the net and Wolves are losing 1-0. The wolves player also got booked for diving. I think Paul Pogba should have got a booking because it was a dangerous looking tackle even if there was no connection. I had a feeling that Manchester United would score out of nowhere and Wolves would regret not getting at least 1 goal. Wolves have been the better team by far today they just need better strikers.

Yes, you are right, in this first half Wolves did look very good, they troubled Man United's defense several times and had many possibilities to score. Both teams deserve to win and I personally hope for the rest of the game Man United can play even better and can win this match. By the way, it's great to see Varane and Sancho finally playing as starters.
I know it is early but I have not been impressed by either of them. I think Varane as looked nervy against Adama and Sancho has not done anything this game. Ronaldo coming in will probably overshadow Sancho and I can see Sancho regretting his decision to join Manchester United.
124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley on: August 29, 2021, 05:09:23 PM
I think with all the sponsors he will be getting he may be making well over a million dollars along with the guaranteed fees and it will be the biggest payday in his career and i am sure if Tyron Woodley looses against Jake Paul he will call out his brother Logan Paul .
This is what I do not understand? Tyron was a world champion in UFC and everyone is saying that he will make more money in this fight than his entire career. How is that true? I do not watch much UFC but I do watch The Ultimate Fighter and they talk about 6 figure contracts if they win the series. That is not champions surely if you are a champion in the UFC you are earning more than 1 million per fight. Conor Mcgregor is one of the highest paid athletes of all time. Logan Paul is much bigger than Tyron? I do not think that would be sanctioned by the the commissioning bodies. I do not think he is earning the most he has ever earned in his career I think that is media talk. Tyron is definitely taking this fight because of the money and he said in the face to face that he will be open to fighting other boxers and would prefer to do boxing instead of mixed martial arts.
125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Tesla going to accept BTC again soon? on: August 29, 2021, 04:56:42 PM
No, you can't precisely measure how exactly green Bitcoin mining is and all this eco talk is just commercial for Elon kissing asses for carbon credits and globalist agenda.
All you can find is approximate amount of miners that are using power coming from hydro plants and that is not an easy task, especially measuring percentages.
You could measure how many households are mining Bitcoin by comparing it to the average household but the only problem is the governments are the only ones with that information and they are only going to release information which makes Bitcoin look bad. If you think about it going green and keeping energy costs down are within the best interests of miners. It is not like the miners are choosing to pollute the earth its that green energy is expensive to invest in and you do not benefit from it until later in life. A solar panel costs more than $20k to take over a average household but it takes 20+ years to benefit from it. It is not worth it yet and that is what needs to be addressed and not targeting consumers who use electricity to power their miners.

Manchester United play better in the 2nd half last season they had the most comebacks in the league. If I was a Manchester United fan I would not be worried because Wolves failed to score. That is probably the best I have seen Wolves play against Manchester United and it is still 0-0. I think Adama needs to work on his scoring ability or Wolves need to get a better striker and then Adama can do the work that he does with dribbling and then give it to the goal scorer. Wolves should be up by multiple goals despite only having 3 shots on target they have missed some easy shots too.

My prediction will be 1-0 Manchester United. They have too many goal scorers in the team to not score. The best result I see Wolves getting is a draw if they can get on the score sheet.
127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 29, 2021, 04:13:08 PM
Son Heung Min scored and 1 - 0 for Tottenham ...
He has been exceptional this season, a great goal to mark his 200th goal for spurs. I think Tottenham totally deserve their top place at the top of the table right now, kudos to Son for sending his team to the top spot...i hope they can sustain their tempo. It's a good win for them going into the international break with this position on the table.
Son's lone goal earned Spurs the win and he's a very talented player up front of course he's very important at Tottenham and he would be a perfect match for Harry Kane.
The early season looks like it's going to be a good start. Spurs will dominate again and become an important part of the EPL, so at least the top 4 will be their rivals this season.
Spurs have also been able to beat Mancity.

BTW, I was watching Wolves vs Manchester United but now it keeps coming back and forth from Wolves like pressure on ManUnited players.
Fernandes with a offside goal but other than that goal Wolves have been the better team. I still think they need to score soon if they are to get anything from this game because Manchester United are definitely going to score at least one this game. Adama has impressed me but his end product is terrible. If he worked on his goal scoring ability I think he could be one of the top players in the Premier League. He is running rings around the Manchester United defenders.

Wolves going into the half time have 3 shots on target and Manchester United have had 0 shots on target! Wolves just need to find that goal and they can win this.

Speaking of correct investment it depends upon how you want to invest your funds whether for long or short term.Like if we witness and compare all the traditional and modern investment options with bitcoin i don't find anything superior to it.Like gold has given diminishing returns and continue the same over charts, stocks of major companies have not given such return like apple, Microsoft,Tesla and other also but on other side bitcoin has given more then 62000% return to holders within these 13 years. So if we speak about correct investment there is not any but if we make comparisons literally we can find it in btc form which many still lags to understand.I was investing in property market and return were good but after some time due to covid people don't prefer such investment and government policies like construction over them reduces prices.Stock market is Highly dependent on any decision like government or company policy could lead to crash in prices easily and scams are coming out.But bitcoin has provided a hope for investors to secure their future without compromising anything.
Stocks like Tesla, Microsoft and Apple are highly dependent on what the public thinks of these companies and they do not have the ceiling that Bitcoin has. Bitcoin at least has a functionality and does not rely on just the public perception of it. How long will Tesla's be in demand? The whole world is moving to electric cars and there will be a lot of competition in the next couple of years. Bitcoin atm does not have any worthy competition it has copies of it but nothing that challenges Bitcoin technically. Altcoins are rightly labelled as shitcoins because they either offer nothing new or their new features are gimmicks instead of something that adds useful functionality. Gold is also becoming less and less lucrative and there are not a lot of investors which are buying Gold. Gold has limited uses while Bitcoin has functionality. That is the key difference between Bitcoin and any other investment you can make and that is why I think it is better to invest into though I would not say that you are guaranteed to profit off of it as nothing is guaranteed but I think it is the safer option when you compare it to other investments.
129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 29, 2021, 03:13:57 PM
The race for the Premier League title has begun, but Arsenal's present position and that image amused me greatly. Disgusting result, you can only imagine the humiliation Arsenal supporters go through after every game. Are there any serious solutions for Arsenal? It's not funny anymore, what's up with this once great English team. The results are always the same if the coach is still Arteta.
This is the 1st time in history that Tottenham have been top of the league while Arsenal have been bottom. Tottenham fans must be loving this. Arsenal have had tougher opponents than Tottenham but only just. Tottenham did beat Manchester City without Harry Kane though which I think shows you just how better they are than Arsenal who have lost all 3 games with their full strength team.

I am surprised that he is still coach. Arteta should have went last season but he is still hanging on. I think if Arsenal have a poor result against Norwich (their next game) then I think he will be fired after that. Norwich are capable of beating them because they have looked good in all of their games including the one against Liverpool despite losing 3-0.
130  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley on: August 29, 2021, 03:01:21 PM
Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley I think will be a decision by Jake Paul. Tyron Woodley is carrying a lot of muscle and while he weighed in 1/2 a pound lighter than Jake Paul in the weigh ins I think that extra muscle will mean he will tire quickly. Tyron is used to fighting in the ufc and I think his pacing for boxing will also make him tire more quickly. I do not see Jake Paul knocking out Tyron Woodley.

Daniel Dubois returns tonight against Anthony Taylor after Dubois fractured his eye socket against Joe Joyce in his last fight. It will be interesting to see how Dubois does but this does look like a mis match and I am expecting if Dubois can get back to his best a 1st round knockout.

Fury also fighting and I expect that to be a 1st round knockout. Then if Jake Paul and Fury both win their fights I think it could be them against each other next time which I think Fury would finally derail Jake Paul and win.

Woodley is guaranteed $500k ,so most probably Jake Paul makes at least 1 million in this fight.
That is only if he loses if he wins he will get more. They also make money from sponsorships and fulfilling media duties so the end figure will be a lot more than $500k earned.

Bamford pulls one back to level the score, it's Burnley 1-1 Leeds,  with the continued pressure of Leeds could this game end in a dramatic fashion....

Ronaldo is not injured. He is rumored to be playing next game for Manchester United. The medical will take place today or tomorrow and then he will be registered.
News has it that Ronaldo has an arm injury and this was while he was still playing at Juventus.

The 36-year-old took a blow to his right arm after a challenge from Alex Sandro and was accompanied off the pitch by members of Juve's medical team.

Source https://www.skysports.com/football/news/12961/12390223/cristiano-ronaldo-leaves-juventus-training-with-arm-injury-amid-transfer-exit-speculation
Scrappy goal from Burnley but they managed to secure their 1st point of the season against Leeds which I think is a very good point against a Leeds team who is probably expected to finish around mid table while a lot of people think that Burnley will be fighting for relegation again.

A arm injury wont affect the medical he has at Manchester United and with international break coming up next weekend I think we will see him playing the next game that Manchester United have. Does anyone have any details on the contract offered to Ronaldo? I forget that he is 36 year old surely they are not going to sign him for more than 2 years with an option to extend maybe?
132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as primary currency on: August 29, 2021, 02:52:20 PM
Atm the problem we have is Bitcoin's fees are too much when you compare them with fiat and it is hard to convince someone to use Bitcoin which is very hard to understand but also is less cost effective to use.

Ever heard of the lightning network?
Yes and although it addresses the problems with transactions fees the lightening network requires extra steps to setup both for the vendor and the person who wants to pay. Atm vendors who want to accept fiat credit cards need a credit card machine. There is no set up you just buy it connect to the internet and then you can start accepting payments. The lightening network requires the vendor to set up their own lightening node and create channels and close them when they need to be closed. The maintenance when you compare it to fiat payments is not worth it for most vendors until Bitcoin becomes more used and popular. Lightening nodes require downloading the whole Blockchain to while credit card payments require nothing. I think Bitcoin is a better currency but this is why we are not seeing more adoption because it is to hard for someone who is not a computer whiz to accept it or use it.
133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 29, 2021, 02:23:19 PM
Burnley score! 1-0 against Leeds United. They have turned the 2nd half of the game around and they have been putting a lot of pressure on Leeds and Leeds defense finally crumble from a spilled cross in the box.
Usually entering the middle of
the season Tottenham often declines in performance by dropping a lot of points. Tottenham finish in the top 6 is already very good in my opinion.
This is because they lack the depth of the other Premier League teams. If they lose Kane or Son the players that can replace them lack the ability. If Tottenham invested in strengthen the quality of theirs players on the bench I think they would challenge for top 4 more often than they do not. Levy their chairmen is known for not wanting to invest in the club though.
134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as primary currency on: August 29, 2021, 02:14:31 PM
It ain't easy to use Bitcoin as a primary currency in a world where fiat prevails. First and foremost, how do you plan on paying your bills and taxes? Your government does not accept Bitcoin and you'll be forced to convert them to fiat. What to do; accepted rules from the society.

Secondly, how will you live by using a currency which the majority of the people out there are unaware of? Unless you're El Salvadorian, you'll find it tough and aimless to keep trying using Bitcoin as your main currency.
This is not the problem with Bitcoin because the possibility of paying your bills with btc would come when there are more people using it. Atm the problem we have is Bitcoin's fees are too much when you compare them with fiat and it is hard to convince someone to use Bitcoin which is very hard to understand but also is less cost effective to use. A credit card fee is normally 0% and a bank transfer is around $100 max for sending to another country but within your own country it is normally fee. Bitcoin is cheaper to send to other countries but locally it would cost more this is more true if you are sending small amounts like for coffee.
135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 29, 2021, 02:07:24 PM
Son Heung Min scored and 1 - 0 for Tottenham after the first half. In the first half, Spurs dominates the match and Watford can not create pressure or opportunities against Tottenham.

Kane brings good effects for Tottenham and with the captain, they play better. Son now will have more good key passes from Harry Kane. After the time break, the second half will begin soon and I believe that with one leading goal and dominating goal possession, Tottenham will have three points from Watford. I believe they can score one or two more goals in the second half.
I think Son is a underrated football player. As long as he has good players around him he will always stand out. There has been talk about Harry Kane leaving recently and that he is one of the best strikers in the world but Son is never mentioned in the same way as Kane. Son is not a striker but he is a very good winger/attacking midfielder who I think could play at better teams than Tottenham. Next season Harry Kane is guaranteed to be sold but I think that Son could be going as well.

Burnley and Leeds have had a real good game with both threatening. It is 0-0 at the moment with Leeds looking the most likely to score in the 2nd half. Burnely are committing a lot of fouls which is breaking up the attack of Leeds and they look dangerous on the counter attack because Leeds are pushed too far up.
136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some fundamental questions about the Bittcoin. on: August 29, 2021, 02:03:35 PM
3- When all Bitcoins mined then what will happen? Its network completed?
Think of block rewards as a way of introducing Bitcoin into circulation without introducing too much that it would be better for people to mine than to use Bitcoin as a currency. We need both for Bitcoin to be valuable. We need people to be sending and receiving Bitcoin from other people because but if the block rewards were too high and offered too much incentive everyone would be mining instead of trading. When we have finally reached the limit of 21 million Bitcoin every one should be circulating Bitcoin around with trades. Transaction fees then allow miners to still earn but it will not be too lucrative for the miners because then people will not use Bitcoin as a currency because the transaction fees would be too high. The way Bitcoin has been designed is to make sure that there is balance and we are not injecting too much Bitcoin into circulation at the same time because this would have the effect that fiat currencies have with printing money off.
137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 29, 2021, 01:43:42 PM
Ronaldo is not injured. He is rumored to be playing next game for Manchester United. The medical will take place today or tomorrow and then he will be registered. There is no rush to sign him because everything has already been confirmed and there is now a international break next weekend. The next time Manchester Untied play will be in 2 weeks time.

Burnley are doing well against Leeds atm both have had their chances. I think Burnley might steal the result away from Leeds. Leeds are doing good in attack but they look shaky in defense. Patrick Bamford has not been the same as last season he looks like a hindrance to the Leeds attack atm because he slows the play down.  I see Tottenham are 1-0 up atm but I have not been watching that game. How are Watford doing despite being a goal down?
138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 29, 2021, 01:09:29 PM
I don't think Watford can beat Tottenham today, I don't think they can even score a single goal against the home side...
Similarly, Wolverhampton can't beat Man U today...
The only match in which there are roughly evenly matched squads is Burnley v Leeds... But I think Leeds will win...
Anyone in the Premier League can beat anyone else but Tottenham have started the season very well and Harry Kane is staying this season and that drama will at least be gone until next season. I think Tottenham with their team could be looking at a top 6 finish. I think Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool are all to strong for Tottenham despite Tottenham beating Manchester City recently. I think Tottenham are more likely to drop points against smaller teams like Watford. I think they should win today I have not seen the lineups yet but if Kane is playing I think the team will be back to their best.
139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 29, 2021, 12:33:19 PM
Chelsea 1 - 1 Liverpool

it was a great game, I'm very happy because liverpool didn't lose in this game, on the contrary, they left this game with 1 point

Newcastle 2 - 2 southampton

brighton 0 - 2 everton

west ham 2 - 2 crystal palace

norwch 1 - 2 leicester

Aston Villa 1 - 1 brentford

sad part:

I don't think Arsenal is the sad part of today premier league match, I think everyone should have known there weren't capable to do more than lose against Manchester city, although 5:0 is a show of shame from Arteta's arsenal, don't know why he is still the manager, I think Arsenal should not wait before trying to salvage themselves, my sad part is Westham vs crystal palace draw, really love to see Westham going 9 points in their opening 3 matches, chelsea, Liverpool also lost the all title of holding 9points and 3 games this season.
Everyone should understand that this is just the beginning of the season, and by the middle of the season things can change dramatically. So it's not appropriate to berate teams right now. 5-0 This is certainly a smash that will be remembered for a long time, but it is unlikely to play a big role in future matches. Although personally I can't explain such a bad start to the season from Arsenal. It seems like nothing much has changed, a couple of transfers and that's it, strange
This might be the beginning of the season but this is their worst start for decades. They have played against Brentford who has been promoted this season they should be beating those convincingly.  The worrying thing for Arsenal fans is they have not been able to score against any of the teams that they have faced. I watched the replays and they had about 2 replays in the Manchester City game and they were not close to scoring in any of them. One of them was a dive after he got past the Manchester City right back.

It doesn't matter if they're bought in Bitcoin, dollars, gold or potatoes. If a deflationary currency prevails, it simply isn't worth it to buy them.

Well at some point the price will stabilize and btc will be used as a reserve currency for international exchanges.  Its not really deflationary, only with decreasing inflation.  we are simply in the price discovery mode until bitcoin takes over i suppose

also thats a nice view
BTC is already being used as a reserve currency if it becomes stable that will be when people start using it for a currency because they can purchase and sell things without worrying that next week that game they sold for $20 is now worth $5 and they lose out in money. I think most people are using it as a reserve currency now. I do not know what you mean by price discovery mode but atm BTC is in a adoption process the quicker people adopt the quicker it will become stable. If you are a investor you prolly do not want to see it stabilize soon and want to profit more on the sudden drops and rises of BTC.
