This time it's going steady peasy to the moon... looks like the entire planet is hungry for BTC Grin

They answered one of my tickets (but not the one that I wanted them to reply to...) a few weeks later.

So, the good news is you have good hope to eventually recover your money, the bad news is it could take weeks given their response rate.

I guess the only option if you don't want to run into the ticket waiting game again is to avoid them altogether.

We all know someone is propping the price up this is nothing new and its looking like mining power is already dropping quite a bit the miners must be already making the switch because they know if they wait until the adjustment then they will loose out big time

Where are you seeing this?

I think he might have been mislead by cash.coin.dance, its data source node must have crashed at height 483780 about an hour ago

Yea in a couple of hours BCH should become around 240% less profitable (I have seen it estimated at one point to be over 300%) essentially BTC miners will earn almost 3x as much as a BCH miner and all miners will most likely abandon the network again probably just for a day though until the EDA kicks in and drops it until blocks are mined at 2m intervals for a couple of days rince and repeat as long as possible until one day people have enough

Well, as long as profitability is higher, no one will have enough.

However, let me remind you that the block reward will halve from 12.5 to 6.25 BCH/block at height 630'000, and unlike the Bitcoin Core network, transaction fees are nowhere near compensating this in the foreseeable future, even less with 8MB blocks.

So, that might be interesting Tongue

Ouais, et j'ai toujours une transaction en mempool depuis 4 jours ...  Roll Eyes donc je peux pas vendre.
Mais bon, je l'ai voulu ... juste pour voir les limites.

Tu peux dire merci à Bitcoin Cash Grin

Yes you should use imgur instead.

I've got stuck as well (but not much) because Bitstamp transfered my ETH as a smart contract (doh!) and of course Bitfinex doesn't support that yet. They said on their Twitter that they will answer all tickets soon:

Rick Falkvinge actually has some good points.

As I said from the start, BCash is actually a good thing in my opinion:

  • It allows grassroots, all-on-chain Bitcoiners to preserve "their" coin with the same blockchain technology that has been running Bitcoin from the start, without Segwit and/or Lightning/sidechains kicking in

  • It allows more institutional, industry big players to carry on with their expansion/extension plan for Bitcoin (Core). Segwit, Lightning and side chains in general are a good thing IMO, they put Bitcoin on par with Ethereum and help solve many parts of the blockchain scalability issues: no one could argue that raising the block size forever is a fix to the quadratic problem of tx verification costs, etc.

Again, and one more time, what bothers me is the name (and logo) Bitcoin Cash that I find confusing. I totally get the idea of claiming the name Bitcoin, as in "genuine" Bitcoin, for legacy and/or continuity. But for everyone that was not involved in the crypto world before August 1, the ambiguity of the names "Bitcoin (Core)" and "Bitcoin Cash" will undoubtedly be confusing at best. Both will claim to be the "original", with both being right to some extent when arguing from different perspectives.

Anyone else thinks Bitcoin Cash needs rebranding? I mean name and logo here.
129  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Faster blocks fork on: August 23, 2017, 03:19:33 PM
Just as a reminder, there are many such coins like this already. For example, Litecoin (started in 2011) uses 2.5 minutes mean block intervals. There have been many others with even shorted block periods, giving essentially what you described, i.e. many orphans.

The major argument against this is that confirmations are supposed to reflect how securely transactions have been settled, and to put it simple, you need 60 confirmations from a 10 second interval chain to "match" the level of security of 1 confirmation on a 10 minutes interval chain (with hashrates supposed being equal for this comparison). The only upside is that on-chain transactions (even with fewer confs) are by far more secure than zero-conf transactions.

Cashback API for merchants is ready https://github.com/byteball/byteball/wiki/Cashback-API
A few merchants are already integrating.

Fine work, thank you! I will try to catch attention from online merchants about this.

Now these are real, bullish news  Shocked Grin

I like the idea of BCash added to Blockchain.info wallet

Yeah brace yourselves for a month of winter now with the new diff Undecided

Amazing how BCash captured significant % of Bitcoin difficulty in the last few days, though

404 bonnes raisons de ne pas en posséder, en effet.

Somebody knows, why there was such a big bump the last days?

tl;dr = Investors through South Korean exchanges have been buying BCash massively over the last few days. Huge money, big deal.
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling on: August 20, 2017, 10:32:26 PM
Block 480182 has been mined by Con Kolivas himself Huh Or is is just experimental on his pool, I don't know

Maybe ckpool will soon propose BCash mining?
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling on: August 19, 2017, 11:23:28 PM
The new mining dynamics have to settle before any conclusion can be made on the future of the chains.

But this unprecedented move was stunning to say the least, I'm glad that I didn't sell out all my BCash after all Grin
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling on: August 19, 2017, 12:24:19 PM
Edit: Isn't that some very bad news for both BTC and BCH?

It isn't news at all, most hash power (I'd say ~65%-75%) is in China.

In other non-news, >80% of the world manufacturing is in China, too.

No, the world will not collapse Roll Eyes
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling on: August 19, 2017, 12:14:35 PM
It seems that the hashrate is catching up, now we should expect more major "coin agnostic" miners to move to the BCash chain, at least temporarily. Does anyone know at which block height the next difficulty retarget is planned to happen? With the UAHF special adjustments, I don't know exactly how to calculate this.

It will be interesting to monitor the effect on the main chain (Core) after a week or two, if the price stays above $1k until then.
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: August 19, 2017, 12:47:17 AM
unable to find it on coinmarketcap

It is listed on coinmarketcap, ticket is GBYTE
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling on: August 19, 2017, 12:22:38 AM
Since the majority of the networks seems to solo mine, I don't really get why we don't see a massive hashrate inrush. We have crossed the line of profitability by a great deal now and we still can't really see any movement on that front.

Eventually we will, but how long will it take (and will the price stay above $700...)  Huh
