the coin needs a new dev, otherwise it will not have any real future
I don't think this coin can die. Some coins just can't die, dev or no dev. Take Tips for instance (fedora coin) no dev still sitting on BTER after 4 years and has made me more money than any coin and dispelling the belief that inflation is death to a coin(record holding 453,000,000,000 tips). The 'Inflation devaluation' principle clearly is not proving out in real time to be true. IMHO, coins devaluate most often because the 'perception' changes or an exchange crashes and the coin loses momentum.
I think TEK will have a strong second life, still has living devs  who watch this coin and very much still part of the crypto world and capable of jumping in again with TEK especially if they see the community still wants this coin and are willing to invest.

TEK needs some marketing, PepeTEK cards, naked ladies ... anything to stand out.

Naked ladies?  LOL... although I wouldn't object to them joining the TEK train I think TEK stands out already. TEK has great Captain Obvious games in this thread!  Cheesy

TEK dev has not posted since july 2016, if he is captain then I don't think we can call that communication 'great' ... TEK needs some marketing badly.

This thread have 181 pages but now it is becoming too silent. Maybe dev or community should think something that make CBX great again?  Grin

Why not restart signature post bounty campIgn from 2016?

Pangea Poker.  Still does not exist years after taking peoples IPO money.

I can find no record of Pangea IPO, what were conditions of IPO? afaik Pangea was dividend of NXTventure fund, can someone confirm.
There is no record of Pangea IPO since there never was any IPO for Pangea. It was an external project that SuperNET invested in and I do believe there was a sharedrop where Pangea assets were given out for free.

Once people had the pangea asset, it started trading. it seems the uninformed assume that anything that is trading in the market must have had an IPO.

Instead of having received funds from a Pangea IPO, we have put money in. The original team ran into issues and I was asked to help with the core tech. Due to the circumstances of other projects, pangea has been on a lower priority, but I did make a proof of concept and there was even a decent GUI made by the original team.

Now that I am finishing up the DEX tradebot, along with JUMBLR, dPoW, PAX, assetchains, iguana core, pangea is rising to the top of the todo list. But I guess the trolls need something to criticize so they pick on one of the few things that I havent had a chance to complete yet. It is also at the end of the list as it will need to utilize the other tech.

Anybody care to make a wager on whether I will get pangea core done or not?

Thanks for explanation! Are you hoping for 2017 launch of pangea?

Sasha abandon many previous projects like coinomat exchange, and many NXT assets. For this he deserves little trust.

Remember to vote for Byteball if you have an account on Novaexchange . We are at 101 of 250 votes required. You can vote daily.
Regards.

https://novaexchange.com/addcoin/

I do not think that this exchange can give something significant for this project.
But it certainly will not be superfluous.

Yes. I agree. Not a big exchange but won't hurt to have it listed there. Many people have been asking for more exchanges.

Small exchanges become big by listing the best coins early, this is how poloniex became big by listing xmr.

Byteball should flip this, don't beg to be listed, if small exchanges want to be big then they should offer incentives to the best new coins, not other way around.
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Kingdom - 1991 Retro Virtual World(City) on: March 08, 2017, 01:12:18 PM
I too would like some free money, id 1032, to buy CK in preparation for exchange trading, and a house in a good neighbourhood. I am poor in 3D world, so in Crypto Kingdom I want to be wealthy, so I ask for 100M, and one day I can do STO in 3D world if I succeed. In CK world I will do what needs to be done to make success.
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Kingdom - 1991 Retro Virtual World(City) on: March 08, 2017, 09:40:07 AM
He calls GM and a voice answers him.

"GM, do you think this is too much? To be, or not to be, that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler for a Mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to activate Advanced Trolling Mode(ATM(TM)) - -"

The question hangs in the air as the fragrance of COH is evident from the colors of the wind.

Have you considered using ARDOR platform for your asset? It is coming from NXT ecosystem. My understanding is there will be a main Ardor chain with assets and MS currencies as currently with NXT, but also addition of custom child chains with a native child chain token and child chain assets and MS currencies.

"Bullshit still reigns supreme in the thread and I cannot even have a sauna during business hours, also they did not serve alcohol before 10 a.m. and I was disappointed that the carriage rematerialised so soon, and did not even have a parking ticket. Further, my watch is still fused in my jacket."

The GM intently seems to uncare.

- Do as you wish, you have to learn responsibility of your actions. Just stop altering the past, it causes ripple effects to the people who should understand rather.

"OK."

Haha, sorry if my suggestion came across as troll, thought there was open discussion going on about trading platform for your game world. Ardor looks like ready made asset issue and trading engine, just need to put your web front end on it (no need to reinvent the wheel), but maybe I speak out of turn, just a noobie observation

My understanding is there will be a main Ardor chain with assets and MS currencies as  currently with NXT, but also addition of custom child chains with a native child chain token and child chain assets and MS currencies. Many advantages for child chain, secured by main Ardor chain but child tx fees paid in child token, not Ardor, so very cheap tx fees but fully secured by large P2P network, and very fast block times. Using a Ardor child  chain would give you a main token, plus unlimited child assets and MS currencies, plus messaging, dividends, etc basically your own custom version of what NXT is today. Counterparty is ok, but nothing compared to Ardor, much faster and cheaper. You can have your CK asset as the child chain token, and then convert other suitable game assets also, so much more external trading options. Worth investigation, only negative is not launched until Q3.
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: March 08, 2017, 04:31:29 AM
Actually the USD price of KMD is probably about the same as the ICO price.  BTC was worth half as much back then.

Not sure why people keep saying this.  Is it to make yourself or others feel better about the current price?  Sure, KMD price may be about the same in terms of USD, but I think it's more important to look at things in terms of BTC.  After all, one of the objectives of SuperNET is to work with BTC to increase its value and thereby increasing the value of alts like KMD.  If BTC goes up and Komodo goes down, that's counterproductive.  Of course, the market doesn't always react this way.  But I wouldn't consider BTC going up while KMD goes down or stays the same a good thing.

People say this because it is the truth and also because it's more important to look at things in terms of USD (or other fiat).  That is what counts in the real, larger world.

So KMD current market price is just about the same as the ICO price, whether you like that reality or not.

Yes, that is the truth and I'm not denying that. It's just when people say it like it's suppose to be a positive for us as a project is what I have a problem with.  I think we need to get out of that mindset.  I'm not looking at it from a trading perspective but more of a goal-oriented perspective. If SN/KMD is to meet it's project goal, then KMD price should be going up with BTC in terms of USD, not stay constant.  So we still have a ways to go.

And speaking of mindset, I feel the dev team has been under this mindset that good tech will speak for itself and people will come.  This way of thinking has been going on for the last 2 years now and it hasn't gotten us far in terms of getting more recognized. There's great tech here, but a new strategy is definitely needed. Hopefully with the next wallet release, marketing will ramp up significantly.

The Elephant in the room is time.......It's great to have brilliant technical ideas.......but they must be finished before the rest of world can implement there own version

Cheers Jon  Wink

Users can't use a service like instantdex before it is released, only speculators can buy kmd, so this explains price drop, some speculators leave. Unknown is what effect on price when users start buying kmd to try out services. Until then we all can only speculate.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: March 08, 2017, 01:25:46 AM
Hello everybody,
I'm sorry, if I haven't been clear. I mean that in order to evaluate the popularity of different altcoins, I measured their popularity in bitcointalk (number of pages of the topic) and in the web (number of Google results). For this I typed in: "altcoin" "chronobank", "altcoin" "stratis", "altcoin" "Qtum", "altcoin" "decent", ... I wrote always "altcoin", because you can not measure the popularity of "decent" without adding "altcoin". If you add "altcoin" for decent, you add "altcoin" for all altcoins. The results have been normalized to take care of the time. They are not very good for stratis.
The conclusion is that Stratis should make much more marketing.
I would like to show you my table, but I don't know how to enclose a table or an image.

look, it doesnīt make sense to write some critical or conspicuous things in this closed Stratis Sauna Club. There are only fanboys inside which got too often to hot.

You have very valid points.
To use an analogy with a toaster: these fanatics with blinders donīt understand that they are always and exclusively talking about tech, material, sizes, measurments etc., but noone comes to the idea to explain what this toaster is good for. For perfect tasty bread!

Instead masturbating on their tech, people should think about benefits, advantages etc. in a language which people understand and finally attract and makes the company shine.
It pretty seems this Trew is overwhelmed or isnīt convinced of N.Dorierīs product or he just is afraid of success, itīs weird always to hide any benefits behind shitty tech language. (Donīt think the whole team are idiots)

Can a stratis fan answer this, explain in non tech language what benefits and advantages stratis has over other platforms?

134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I just did a smart contract in Byteball : mind blow. on: March 08, 2017, 01:04:34 AM
I am considering investing on this altcoin but im still not sure since iamnotback addressed some valid concerns on the project and I want to invest in something long term not in something that has flaws and will have to deal with big problems in the future. I wish someone did a coin strong enough that it will not meet dead ends eventually but the question... this coin may not even exist. All coins may be cornered into hard forks and controversial situations in a long enough timeline.

You also know that I told you (and others in private) that Byteball might be one of the most intriguing of tiny marketcaps to speculate on. If they had given away Bytes to every Bitcoin HODLer, I expected a selloff. But instead apparently what they did is only distributed to a very few who bothered to show up on time, so the coins have been concentrated amongst for example ICONOMI got roughly 9% of all Byteball issued. So perhaps the selloff won't be forthcoming. I dunno because I haven't been following it in detailed study since.

Nothing is perfect. And they could potentially improve over time.

But the flaws I outlined are somewhat onerous, especially their transaction fee design appeared entirely unscalable to me unless they've since changed it or clarified something I didn't know.

@superresistant, seems what you are calling a "smart contract" could possibly be done with Bitcoin's scripting?
Agreed, I triggered by the idea of this coin since the first time I read it, free distribution but the amount of bitcoin in everyone wallet which bothers me. I mean, who has huge amount get huge portion of byteball, a rich man becomes more richer. Byteball has taken second place of the higher exchange rate right now at $67.56, marvelous.

Byteball distro in round 1 was heavily beneficial for btc holders, but for all later rounds not so much. From round 2 onwards much better to use btc to buy byteball and get 10% compounding for all later rounds than link and get measly 62MB byteball. More than 12 more full moons to go, so distro creates BB demand, which creates higher return each round, which creates more BB demand etc As long as dev keeps to schedule BB can only go up.
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: March 07, 2017, 09:25:47 AM
I think this is a new coin with new features.

"1% I reserve for myself"

Do we have to believe if you only get 1%?  Grin

Everything about the distribution is as transparent as possible. Simply add the coins given out for free and after the last round of distribution you will see that there are only 2% left in the developers wallet (1% for new wallets and 1% for himself). Check transition.byteball.org for details about the linked addresses.

What rules for 1% for new wallets? Has that started?

3. Check your balances and addresses vs. the proposed snapshot: http://pastebin.com/NdQjLWbK
My balance is correct, thank you.

Have the manual claims been added to the snapshot? I can't see my manual claim addresses

edit: I think manual claims may be included later, reading what Dominik posted on iota forum,

Quote
As we are preparing for the very first snapshot of IOTA to be adopted, we wanted to pre-publish the snapshot so that the community can publicly validate the snapshot and give their approval for its correctness. For the next 48 hours we will leave it open for the community to validate the snapshot.

In a couple of hours I will post a second snapshot, which includes the changed balances for the unclaimed funds. Therefore, it would be great if someone or a group of people validate it all for its correctness and can attest for it.
137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fastest, most secure way to get bitcoins from paper wallet to an exchange? on: September 18, 2016, 07:53:24 AM
Need to move coins from a paper wallet to poloniex, but no time to sync whole blockchain, what is the best way that I can do in a couple of hours?

install an SPV wallet like electrum (you will have to download less than 100 MB in total) import the private key and spend. but your computer has to be clean if you want to import the key on it while being connected or have been connected to internet.

there are other ways of doing it offline like making a raw unsigned tx online and singing it offline with private key but that takes a longer time and needs more work.

Thanks,  would love a tutorial on how to do the offline signing method

139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo ICO - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: September 16, 2016, 01:14:38 PM
What % of KMD supply is PoW, or is 100% ico from genesis? Is there a tail emission like xmr?
After ICO it is half the lifetime emission.

After that, stakes get 5% per year, plus there is a blockreward starting at 3KMD, with halvings.

When coin supply reaches 200 mil, it will just be txfees, but that wont be for over 10 years

There is a backup block generation method using equihash PoW, but this will only be used when there are no notary nodes. In order to allow both methods to coexist, similar to how peercoin allows PoW and PoS to coexist, the notary side will be given priority.

I guess if there is an extremely large amount of hashpower, even in the presence of notary nodes, the PoW could generate a block, but I doubt it would make economic sense unless KMD price goes to much higher levels than expected.

For the hardware/miner peoples, the way to earn KMD is by running one of the 64 notary nodes. Payouts will be calibrated to be around $500 per month per notary node, so in the even the KMD block rewards are not sufficient, payments to the notary nodes will be made in BTC to make up the difference.

Right after the ICO is completed, we will have elections to select the 64 notary node operators. I am currently working on the voting system and this will be the first thing we need to do after genesis. Between genesis and the notary nodes coming online is the only pure PoW period that is expected.

Thanks for comprehensive answer, your model is very well thought out. Will there be some minimum stake required to run a notary node like dash, or is the vote the single determinant? How notary node operators are selected and governed to keep komodo decentralised will be critical, I look forward to more details on that when you have them.
