121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is stealing Bitcoin illegal? on: August 25, 2016, 01:13:58 PM
this is the definition of stealing according to Merriam Webster Dictionary.

: to take (something that does not belong to you) in a way that is wrong or illegal
: to take (something that you are not supposed to have) without asking for permission
: to wrongly take and use (another person's idea, words, etc.)

the act of stealing even if it is bitcoin or not is really illegal. this is a kind of question that is explanatory. i don't know if you are just asking it because you are dumb and don't know if it is illegal or not, or you just want to improve your post count for your signature campaign?!

Agree, this question is  explanatory  even  in commonsense you could answer directly this question without being asked to anybody. Maybe hes dumb enough that he doesnt  know whats the definition of stealing to him. As he said  he generate an address which theres already  a bitcoin inside it, if  he try to get those coins then its considered stealing. No questions asked.

You have a point, there's no need to ask this kind of question since yourself could even do that. Stealing is illegal in any way, anything that you stole or get without the owners permission or notice then it's considered illegal. No matter how big or small amount is if you get those then you commit such crime.

may be he did really steal some bitcoin before and now he is guilty of spending it. that is why he is asking these question on this thread to see if someone did the same thing he did.

Pretty sure that didn't happen. The chances are very low that that will happen. I think this is more of a philosophical discussion.
122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is their any safe methods to gamble? on: August 25, 2016, 12:19:42 PM
Try to invest in casino bankroll is one method. Become an affiliate and spread your referral link throughout the internet and hope to get enough signups who will be high rollers. Otherwise since you can beat the House why not join the House?? Build your own casino.
Building your own casino doesn't assure profit especially if you don't have a serious amount of money. You have to pay for developers, bug seekers, and moderators. The capital that you're gonna be needing for the casino to run is another huge amount of money. If highrollers come to your casino and you have insufficient amount of BTC to pay them, your online casino will just have a very bad reputation. At the same time, it'll leave you bankrupt.

I agree with this. Although it might be a better idea than just gambling, it's definitely gonna cost you a lot. If you have a lot of spare money, and if you're good in developing these kind of sites, it's definitely worth it to give it a shot.

Well no one told you guys to follow my advice and go build a casino right now. I am just suggesting methods to earn as diverse as possible to the OP on how to make profit. A busniess is not for everyone. But looking at the number of renowned well know casino sites there are I guess the OP can also invest in it with proper management. Also if not you guys are always there to teach him Grin Grin

I do think it is a good idea. At least it's a better idea than gambling itself, you just need to have a good idea, a lot of money to invest and some programming skills Tongue.

what about the names? everybody seems to agree the it is the last name. why not the first letter of the first name?

For the Steve Jobs case, it was the last name, since the letter S can't be after the 5 in a private key. So we assumed that we need the last name of the other names.

Your sample signature are really great and i really like your signature making skills. I dont own any business otherwise i would have ordered you also to make a signature of my Company or site.

Thanks, I'm still trying to learn some new tricks for making signatures. Right now, it's very cheap, when compared with other signature designers, but that will change later on Tongue.

Congrats to @jayce. One of the highly priced contest in the recent times. It would be nice to announe the winner in the OP. Do you have consolation prize for other participants?

Read the following:

Because you all made choosing a single winner so hard I have decided all entrants will receive a prize.
129  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Python scripting on: August 17, 2016, 10:09:12 PM
Maybe you got an easy clean solution, to check the balance of some addresses in a list, on a local node?

Cause the script from github has got much crap in it!
https://github.com/TheZ3ro/bitcoin-privkey-bruteforce/blob/master/btcscan.py

This one also works:

Code:
import urllib2
import json

address = raw_input("Enter Address >> ")
urlRequest = urllib2.Request("https://blockchain.info/rawaddr/" + address)
data = urllib2.urlopen(urlRequest).read()

json_data = json.loads(data)
print "Final Balance: " + str(json_data['final_balance'])

Do you need some signatures for your campaign?

If you want, I can do that for a small price Tongue.
131  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Python scripting on: August 17, 2016, 07:36:16 PM
The syntax seems wrong. I'm assuming this is Python 2.

I haven't tested it yet, but does the following work?:

Code:
req = urllib2.Request("http://btc.blockr.io/api/v1/address/info/"+address)
res = urllib2.urlopen(req)
json_data = json.loads(res.read())

133  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] 1x Member, 1x Full Member, 2x Sr. Member (Bitcointalk accounts) on: August 16, 2016, 10:04:45 PM
OP are you sure about the price of potential Sr. Member? Or it is just a typo error?

The prices are correct, bit above bctalkaccountpricer estimation, but it is hard to find similar accounts for sale with excellent quality posts allowing you to join any open signature campaign, including the best paying ones.

A bit above? That's more than 50% of the price estimation. I would be surprised if anyone would buy that for that price :p.
134  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 16, 2016, 09:00:12 PM
Someone care to speculate what price would reach BTC if a random guy (or agency) decides to buy 1 million?

The price would rise to about $610. But not very long after that, the price would also drop (like a price correction).

So, in short terms, a lot would be happening, but in long terms, it would probably keep on the same course.
135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is their any safe methods to gamble? on: August 16, 2016, 08:51:49 PM
   "Safe gambling" can only mean one thing! If you have 1000$ in your wallet, gamble with 30$ and that is safe. You will go home with 970$ in your wallet, and if you have luck, with 30$ you will make couple hundreds. If not you had nice game, you try to make something but you didn't have luck. Try again the same for couple days, or next week.
   That is the only way how can I see safe method for gambling, any other way where you sit in casino with money you have is possible chance to lose all you have. That is how casino make money on our greedy character. Play safe just means don't risk money you don't have, or last money in your wallet.

Yes, however, you need some good discipline. Because if you are not careful, you'll just gamble away your 1000$.

My best suggestion is to store most of your bitcoins in a bank wallet, which you probably won't touch unless you really need to.

William
yeah common dude go for it.. I am very excited to see the signature campaign start.. if the price of signature design that much high then I am sure you'll surprise everyone with signature campaign rates and payment.. lolzz..

PS can I vote for someone? Jayce's designs are superb. I can predict he'll be the winner.

Yeah he's the best designer so far but

@Baryom, maybe you need to split the prize since I'm also seeing other great design ( 0.3 / 0.1 / 0.1 for example )

Shocked waw super nice prize and i want it  Grin

You need put extra effort !

I agree, splitting the prize is a better idea (since my chances of winning this is almost 0 Tongue).
137  Other / Archival / Re: BTC puzzle! 0.5 BTC on: August 16, 2016, 08:36:55 PM
I'm still baffled by the number of hashes you can compute.

I just optimized my script from computing 5 keys / second to 25 keys / second.

What is the rate of your scripts?

ok i wrote a code to check the private key but there are so many answers that i don't know or am not sure about the char to put for the picture some are 2 or 3 possibilities and a couple of them are the whole 58 char Cheesy

so i am down to 149,846,016 possible private keys Cheesy assuming the rest of answers are correct and also in correct case (upper or lower)

i will run it for a little while longer and then will give up and try to reduce the possible keys to check.

Update: all checked and nothing found lol

WOW nice one!

I am waiting for the owner of address to sign message as was asked previously in this thread. Will update in time

Do remember to go and visit the wallet owners site and check out the fab designs @ http://www.jangodfrey.com/

Yeah, I really like his style of the designs. It's modern, simple and clean.

Oh, sorry, I didn't see your reqeust until now. I'm a bit chaotic Tongue.

Sadly, the promo only applies to the first three people, so you are actually too late. But I didn't see your reply, so you also get one for free as an apology Smiley.

Regards,

Adriandmen
