The current rise is quite steady and now I'm inclined to think that it is more likely to be a real recovery, not another upward correction before another leg down. However, I'm still very cautious about predicting a new ATH soon or even this year. The recovery may be long. Of course, nobody knows for sure...

If anyone ever in discord and was before and after the rebrand know that Altcom IS Sono with the implement of the real MN feature, rebrand as intend for later SonoHub which also one of the selling point other than just 'MN and stake' like many coins out there.
Rebranding was OK and SonoHub was a good idea, but the chainsplit was a complete disaster and now there are absolutely no news from developers. |

Altcom had performed very well, the SONO came and nightmare occured. Hope that we can survive over the terrible events caused by SONO.
It was supposed to be a simple rebranding. I suppose the surge in ALTCOM price in late January was at least partially caused by people buying coins to run masternodes. However, they are of little use now... |

Nobody knows. There was a tweet about last Friday, then a post on February 16th about 4 days, but it came to nothing. No news. ALTCOM was a promising project, but now it has no prospects. I mean the original ALTCOM, not SONO, because it seems that now there are two separate coins. SONO is of no use now and its future is very unclear to me. |

Why do you think price dumped so hard?) Everyone already did, you are late to the party. That's the reason why I think of running my old ALTCOM wallet again. I think unless Lightning network is implemented, it will. Actually, it has already (mostly) died as a payment option in 2017, when fees became huge. Bitcoin network capacity is too low for a full-fledged payment system, even with SegWit, and transaction times are too large. A second layer solution is needed, and it may appear soon after all.

I am one of those optimists, although a cautious one. $100k in a few years is possible. I doubt we'll see another 10x this year, maybe there will be even no new ATH in 2018, but I believe in long term bitcoin will rise to hew heights.
I also share your view. Buy if crypto has taught us anything, it's that volatility and unpredictability is no surprise with this market. BTC might begin another bullrun soon. But and all time high of 100k in 2018 is quite a long shot. Maybe half of that is possible. I agree, bitcoin is completely unpredictable. Nobody expected 20x rise in 2017. I would not be surprised by no new ATH in 2018, but I would be equally not surprised by it reaching $50k. |

Breaking $10k is a good sign, but, while I'm an optimist in long term, I'm still not sure about new ATH in 2018. Unlike that crazy spike in December, there may be a long way from $10k to $20k.

Many legit investors create VALUE by putting in thier money
in a cryptocurrency. And then people who earned free coins/tokens
come in and ruin it by dumping in the sight of quick profit.

In general, no, I do not agree. Not everyone who receives an airdrop is going to dump it immediately (personally, I don't do it). A good project will not be ruined by it. Yes, there are some projects that disappear shortly afterwards, but I think they were designed to do so. Moreover, a short decline in price after airdrop or ICO may be a good thing for investors who believe in the project: they can get more tokens or coins cheaply. Remember, when someone is dumping, someone else is buying these. |

We can only hope that the developers will issue an update, but I fear that the image of this project may be ruined. Just a bump in the road, the current goal is to release an update that gives the community all the details they need for the very near future of what will happen. Spoiler alert: We won't be quitting anytime soon. Big stuff is happening.. I'll be very glad if that happens. I'm following this project since Airdrop 3 and it was pleasant to see it grow. I still hope for a big future, but this story with chainsplit is painful. I've also noticed a strange thing when staking. Initially the wallet shows some amount of coins mined by PoS. The transaction confirms, the amount stays the same. But after restarting the wallet the amount becomes lower by about 25%. It began with the update to SONO (never happened with ALTCOM) and it happens with every mined transaction. |

On yobit it shows ALTCOM coin not SONO, but i understand it's transition to SONO?
So should we wait until YOBIT shows SONO or can we buy now under the name of ALTCOM and retain the same coin once SONO is up and running?

To me $100k this year seems very unlikely, it would mean two consecutive years of 10x rise, 100x total. Even $50k now looks very far off. Bitcoin needs to break $10k first and to stabilize above it. It may take months. |
