For me it is a good campaign, whatever happens, with the money I made I can pay the rent in a very expensive country like Switzerland. Which means, in other countries you can live with that money for two months... Participants can make some money out of it, so don't say people get scammed. You get something in exchange for some of your time and you can trade it against money at any time. So I really don't see the scam here.
Also there is lots of newbie accounts posting here that it is scam. This is a sign that people want to bring something successfull down, or lower the price to get on board. Everything shows that the project is on a good way. Happy to be part of it.
But you're not a part of it. You're shilling for it, but you don't have the signature, so now you get nothing for your shilling. I've been around crypto since 2012 or so, I'm not a newbie. This is a scam. It will be dead on the day of the 40th "airdrop" when everyone realizes that the "dev" hasn't actually met any of the roadmap and has delivered nothing but a bunch of valueless tokens. |

The DeepOnion fraud founder surely would just try to keep DeepOnion going for as long as possible
And then just bank $20k or whatever amount each day. Maybe even rebuy on some days to keep the price somewhat stable. I saw there were some buys for DeepOnion coins at much larger prices than its at. Like it was at $1.10 and someone was buying for $2.20
Thats also why the sig campaign is for such a long time, to cash out from this coin for a long time as they try to get "noobs" to buy it.
And if you read the "new rules" you will see that they're trying to get more and more people advertising while incentivizing almost exclusively the people (288 last I checked) that are already "in" the airdrop. |

The word "scam" is often abused in cryptos, and should be avoided unless we are talking about a 100% proved scam.
I don't think that DeepOnion is a scam. They have invested too many energies in building their site and their community for it to be a scam.
HOWEVER: the dev (I think it must be a single dev, pretending there are more) seems to be a paranoid chap, which has managed with his behavior to screw a project which otherwise may have worked out.
I have applied for their so called airdrop (a signature campaign, which is fine, but call it with its true name), I was rejected because "I didn't meet the requirements" - which must be their SECRET requirements, since I was respecting their PUBLIC requirements, and so I have immediately dropped their signature and avoided the pathetic public whining that others indulge in.
All my slightly critical posts on the thread have been deleted. They simply delete everything which is not hyping the project, and the result now is that you have a 100% hypocritical community which PRETENDS to love the project but they just are terrorized to be thrown out of the so called airdrop. Rules are obscure since the dev decides which the rules are according to his mood. And all the rejected people now hate the project. A very sad show. It's a pity, it could have been a nice project. I don't think it is a scam, it is just a VERY BADLY managed project, which at first seemed very good. Perhaps they could still save it if they'd change attitude. Perhaps. Not very likely they will though. We'll see.
The best scams are the ones people but great effort into. And realistically, almost all their content is created by people who are hoping against hope that they'll get to be added to the special 288 in the "airdrop" which is really (as you say) an advertisement campaign. They just string people along -- if you play our game and post a lot of positive stuff and write a lot of shills on facebook and bitcointalk for six weeks we "might" consider you for the airdrop then when we "change the rules!" and such nonsense. It's a scam. And yes, I think it's a single person who doesn't actually know how to develop anything -- because he's developed exactly nothing. It's just a copy of another coin. The one "feature" they added is windows only and closed source -- and is a "feature" one could do in bitcoin in 2009. |

They've just released a closed source, windows only, wallet, and continue to allow almost no one in their actual airdrop while trying to extort free advertising from them.
I tried to get in for a while but they now claim I must have been a purchased account because I wasn't active for a long time, where anyone looking at my posts can clearly see it's been me writing all along.
Also, you can't use the word "scam" on their forum. It flags it as spam and won't let you post. Lol.
This is nothing but a long con. Most of the bag holders (I won't dignify it by calling them devs) are going to dump before their 40th airdrop week, the coin value will drop to zero, and it will die.
I see few red flags there like total censorship on anonymous coin. LOL. If you write a single negative word - you are out. Their ANN is under 101% censhorship for only good posts from shills. Then they are rejecting all new airdrop players. And it doesn't even have to be negative. If your posts aren't praising the coin all the way like it's the greatest thing ever built, you're out, and they call it "FUD". |

Note that you have to join the crypto warriors Facebook group, in order to be able to cast your vote. I joined the group just today. U should definitely do it, there is interesting conversations and different opinions and can find good tips about projects. About the dumping after airdrops are finished, I belive it won't be as huge as people would hope to expect. Why? There are many solid hodlers amongst us, and in 40 weeks time more and more people will understand the true potential of DeepOnion. Naturally this will increase demand and price. And there will be people waiting to get cheap onion, as the whole thing grows. There are about 288 "solid hodlers" according to your own forum. If you think that's enough, more power to you. Deeponion as a community is aware on the value of this project and its coin. People are starting to realise that DO will be big and now whales are lurking arround with strategies to lower down the price and buy cheap. There is one guy Onion username on DO he is lurking and posting buy offersfor 0.5usd per coin on bigger quantities, se says it will drop 0.1 so in his view he is "helping " giving good offer:-) Bytheway he has already in his adress 150.000 onions. When 40 week comes and the project is mature and strong. Who would like to dump immidiately after 40 weeks holding? Who will sell below price when holding the 40weeks whole project with price arround 1usd? Yes some will do and this is maybe good to spread onions broader but, think about it. for me there is 0 chance to worry. We are getting to know rach other as community , hopefully we will have community merting and meet in person. We stay strong together.  The price on novaexchange is meaningless. There's near zero supply and nova hasn't accepted new registrations in months. |

I think perhaps he is referring to the current active members, although that's still not the correct number. Although the number of active members seems not changed too much, but the members are changing. Some of them have dumped and was banned. Some newcomers joined. So as a matter of fact, the onions have been distributed to much more people than just around 300. Arguing over 300 vs 700 doesn't matter. It needs to be a hundred thousand. |

I agree that it would be ideal for more people to be involved but I think its smart that they have a strong vetting process in place. Better to have 288 dedicated people than thousands of accounts that include a bunch of multi-accounters with 5-10 accounts each. (Maybe more, who knows how many accounts people would have if they could get away with it) That still keeps you off exchanges, and keeps from developing an actual community around the coin. Doesn't matter what excuse is used. |

The whole deal seems a bit sketchy. Simply answer, if you have an doubts, stay away. It's wise to invest time and money only on projects you really feel confident/passionate in.
