121  Economy / Goods / Re: Noella Jean Jewellery - Our First Sale!!! Get 10% OFF until the 16th May 2013 on: May 11, 2013, 01:00:57 PM
Just sayin, when I hear jewellery I think of a price range above the 1000$ line or at least some actual rare metals.
But you just provide some 5$ store stuff, huge bummer.

Did you see this topic:

I've never installed eloipool, but bitcoind is straightforward.  You should try this first for free before paying anyone to do it.

I've tried that. Something always fucks up and I cant get behind it.

126  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [2] countdown! on: May 10, 2013, 02:20:04 PM
They where already millionaires (batch 3/chips). There was no need to scam us and force their investors to lose money.

Sure, but once you got your first million you want more. Dont judge them. Also, our ROI will be in the worst case something about 1year(talking about batch 3, batch 2 has no reason to cry at all).
127  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [2] countdown! on: May 10, 2013, 02:14:30 PM

Now again Back in January they implied they could make 12 devices a day
They also clearly stated how good their original release date was
They also stated delivery dates for Batch #2

What has gone wrong?

They suddenly can't make the chips they made before?
They didn't get almost $2mil from batch #2 and batch #3?
Everyone making the first batch quit or was fired?
Capacitors are scarce in China?

While I'm at it I'll work on a graph: (click for full size)

Anyone feel free to make some more detailed comments about the above graph however,

1) From Avalon Shipping to Network reaching 48TH/s (earliest Avalon could have added 20TH/s + Asicminers extra 4TH/s) is approx 23-Mar
That assumes there is NO OTHER addition to the network while the price of BTC continued to climb slowly ...

So what is the 26THs rise from then (23-Mar) to 25-April
Clearly a % at least of people coming on board with GPUs due to the price - but could 2xmore people have joined BTC in that month with GPUs than existed in the 2 years before that?

Of course the network value for 'today' at 83GH/s is in question - and wont be considered reliable probably for another week at least - but that would actually make one wonder how ASICMINER managed to add 14TH/s yet the network only went up 9TH/s (maybe they were mining early also? Tongue)

FYI the network graph is of course from: http://bitcoin.sipa.be/
P.S. Yes I used the 14 day window - the others are simply way too unreliable

I think is a very well thought out and argued position.   Personally, I believe Kano and I think that Yifu's and Zhang's muteness on these delays make the probability that they are mining much higher.   I do not want to believe that since that would mean that all the values and virtues that Avalon kept preaching were just lies (that would be pretty devastating to find out).
YIFU or Dr. Zhang, I think after one month we deserve your reply to the above and assurance that this is not true.

Money changes people. It is nothing to blame them for. Just try to think of yourself in that position, 1 year earlier just a regular student with some bitcoins, right now you are a millionair on paper and can make some million a month by simply delaying a product. This is a once in a lifetime chance for you.

Better be thankful that they dont scam us.

129  Economy / Computer hardware / Selling Macbook Pro 20011 with broken Display on: May 10, 2013, 01:13:52 PM
Hi,

I am selling my MacBook Pro 2011 with a broken display. It was only used 1 month. I think the graphiccard is damaged + the display, everything else seems to be working (I've opened it and took out the harddrive, it is working).

You will get the whole MacBook as it is (including the harddrive).

I dont know what you are going to pay, but the price to fix it is about 1k$. Maybe someone needs some parts... Hit me with a nice price!

ASICMINER didnt just add 4TH, they are at 19TH or sth.
Yes I mentioned that.
(from the graph ASICMINER has 1TH in there)

So what are you implying? Maybe avalon just ships when all batch 2 units are build and running.

133  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [2] countdown! on: May 09, 2013, 06:27:43 PM
any news anyone?

Only that they are about 25 days late shipping batch 2 and 4 days late shipping batch 3.
134  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Who else from Avalon batch 1 hasn't received a unit or shipping information? on: May 09, 2013, 04:51:03 PM
Avalon has no way of confirming that a avalon arrived, also isnt able to confirm that a avalon is NOT received. So they have to wait for their Agent to tell them when the avalon comes back.
If that does not happen, they have to assume they did receive one and want to have a extra unit.

Why not ? The agent can check and a provide tracking code.

We're talking about a few customers, easy to check.

Well maybe they are located in a remote place where DHL or EMS does not deliver directly and it has been handed to sub contracters. So, well, it is about 3 of 300 units that went missing I dont think its a bad quote but its a bad service not communicating.

DHL does not use Subcontractors.

HA-HA.

It's getting awfully lonely in this thread as you guys all receive your shipments.

I'm still waiting...

you are not the last one who is waiting......

It's nice to have company, but it's not nice that we're still waiting Sad

Zhang & Yifu... come on... what is the problem with these last batch 1 Avalons ?

Avalon has no way of confirming that a avalon arrived, also isnt able to confirm that a avalon is NOT received. So they have to wait for their Agent to tell them when the avalon comes back.

139  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon module repair on: May 08, 2013, 07:26:40 PM
That could possibly be a simple repair, is it not ? Just order the same kind of inductor and solder it on.

I know something way more easier. Take your other modules, look for the missing part, take it off, put it on your broken module, ta-da! Its working again!
140  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: POLL: Will Avalon Batch 3 or raw ASIC Chips ship first? on: May 08, 2013, 05:39:19 PM
If the chips ship first, which is possible since they do not requiring any assembly, they still won't be running and online for some time after that. So even if batch 3 ships after the chips they will likely be online before a vast majority of any of the raw chips.

Personally, I think you grossly underestimate the skills and determination of some of the members of these chip buys. There are at least two projects which I am confident will be completed and tested prior to shipment of chips, meaning that boards can be assembled and ready for chips as soon as they arrive. 15 minutes in a reflow station, and these boards will be ready to mine.

I guarantee there will be many people who will be up and mining within a day of receiving their chips.

Thats what I think too. I've been working on such a project when the announcement came and we've worked out a somewhat detailed plan of what is needed to do and what timeframe one would need to set everything up so only the chips need to be assembled. It was less than 8 weeks!
