ya sorry i cant help ya I use guiminer. My girlfriend hops on my mining rig all the time. That way she just clicks a button to stop/start mining. It's too much to even ask her to change the intensity and restart lol
Alright I'm trying to setup guiminer, I downloaded/extracted but when I open it up nothing pops up. I see the icon on the taskbar and in the system tray, but it doesn't show. Could it be because I've had it installed before? |

It really sounds like you are using the sha 256 guiminer. Do you mean you have a ist of pools to connect to and you added a new one. If one of those pools is slush;s pool you are using guiminer for sha 256 not scrypt. Cgminer is all command prompt based no gui I know of. But don't use it so i could be wrong. I believe it would be better for you to use guiminer scrypt with your level of pc knowledge. It's just much easier
No I'm definitely using the scrypt CGminer (I'm mining on a litecoin pool right now). I'll try guiminer-scrypt. |

CGminer wont work? Cgminer will work but you said you didnt give it a command. Do you mean you changed the .bat file? If so post your .bat No I just added the information as a new pool in the actual CGminer window. |

I must be stupid, so I've made a .conf file in the roaming folder, now what? Could someone go through the steps quickly to setup solo mining?
Paste this in .conf file. Reatart client. How do I get cgminer to run the franko.conf file rather than the cgminer.conf file?
you don't. cgminer users cgminer.conf, franko-qt uses franko.conf I'm so confused. Someone said to use rpcuser=username

that's the daemon. you need to open the QT window. You mean the mining in the wallet? You have your wallet open, then you can point miners to it. Like you have cgminer open on that same computer, then point it to 127.0.0.01:<port>, then it'll solo, if you hit a block it shows up in the wallet. If you have other IPs open in your conf, you can connect from other machines and point them towards the ip/port on your computer w/the wallet. Okay, so I added a new pool with url 127.0.0.01:7913 and user frankorpc and a pass of some random characters, but I'm getting "Failed to resolve (?wrong URL) 127.0.0.01:7913" 127.0.0.01 --- remove the 0.. so.. 127.0.0.1 for others... rpcuser=myusername rpcpassword=mypassword rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 rpcallowip=192.168.0.* rpcport=9898 port=7912 daemon=1 server=1 gen=0 point your miners to port 9898 make sure server switch and daemon are 1..
