121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CryptoKingdom Uncensored on: May 25, 2018, 04:43:01 AM
Very good Loaf, very good indeed! Looking forward to some games Cheesy

Is Loaf still working on the new design and relaunch of CK, things look awfully quiet around here now, all the original mods have left.

Please post some dev updates if there are any, give us some hope Smiley

Unfortunately, nothing to really report Sad

We had thought getting PJ out so people could actually have the ability to make changes would help, but interest seems to have dried up.

Things may have been different a year or so ago before the ten-bagger movement up in BTC pricing, but with so many new projects out there vying for attention, CK currently is an example of "too little, too late" at this point.

I mean, it's been months now since the XMR depo has even worked for the game Sad It's like no one cares...

We really need to have some elements of game design before coding it up and building the blockchain interfacing aspects. That's a big project, and no one seems to wants to throw time and/or money at it when they've already lost so much at current XMR values to begin with, myself included to a degree.

If someone has a good plan and is willing to do the work, all ears...

CK is caught in a classic chicken & egg problem - to generate interest and a sense of community there needs to be some basic version of a game to play, even on a SS, but in order to motivate people to work to establish a basic game we need others to show interest and establish a community again. With all the history that doesn't seem possible, so I guess CK is finally dead!

^Craig Wright kicked out of China !! Shocked  *must see*

CSW is definitely a prickly dude, but if you invite international people to a conference discussion then isn't it customary to speak in a language everyone can understand? I assume the conference organisers would prefer all participants know what is being said, otherwise it's totally pointless inviting someone to your discussion if they can't understand what other people are saying.

CSW doesn't suffer fools well, isn't bothered with trying to build a reputation as a nice guy, he says what he thinks and feels, and sometimes he looks rude, but in this instance the blame for what happened is on the conference organisers for not politely asking that questions and answers be given in English, when the dude started a long answer in Chinese what was CSW expected to do, wait for him to finish and then say, can you repeat everything you just said in English, what a waste of time.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: May 24, 2018, 11:58:24 PM
Well that is something which isn't comparable easily. Sure there are some minor caps or even tiny caps which could gain multiple times higher than the large caps like NEM. But its therefore quite safe and I will have no doubt that the whole market and especially NEM will get all past the ATH

That's what I mean, there are loads of small cap coins with much better chances of x10 that nem , and a few like cbx that could  easily x100 in the next 12 months, which nem is almost guaranteed NOT to do.  That doesn't mean nem is a bad investment because as you say, it is very safe by crypto standards, but nothing like a sleeping giant that might wake up and x10 or x100. NEM is a crypto blue chip, and is a great coin for slow steady growth, especially with zero inflation already locked in.
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCR] Decred - Community Governance | Bitcoin Devs | Lightning Network on: May 24, 2018, 11:43:15 PM
Will Decred rocket if it gets on Binance? Seems to me no one really knows about this coin (apart from people here obviously), and perhaps the listing fee should be spent on advertisements instead.

I do not think so. Decred has been on many good exchanges already. Listing on Binance will not have much effect.

I agree, binance listing would be great but any price effect would jùst be a short term pump, liquidity on other exchanges is pretty good, and if someone wants to buy decred today they can easily on multiple exchanges. What would really be a game changer would be getting listed on decentralised exchanges like barterDEX that will never require kyc and don't have withdrawal limits as the user always has control of the private keys. Decentralised exchanges are the future, but would not pump price, just ensure long term markets even after  a crack down.
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NEWBIUM - The markets dirty little secret on: May 24, 2018, 11:33:30 PM
Ok thanks, so what proportion of total newb supply is going to nxttycoin holders, I can't find  details of that in this thread?

Nxttycoin holders (this excludes the NXTTY asset issuing account) will receive 25% of NEWB supply distributed in future as mentioned in previous post.  In addition 15% of NEWB will be distributed to 500,000 users as part of mass airdrop.

A basic breakdown is mentioned on the ANN page.

Thanks!

It was Putin's hackers, for sure.
'Highly Likely' ®

And Russian defence ministry bitten down BTX to buy them all.
We can sit and wait - market will be in flat until next election in North American States.
But Russians plan to use billions in BTX to buy everyone and elect Putin's dog as next NAS President.
I will sell all my BTX in this time and change it to Rubles.
Best strategy supported by ICBM.

Heavy drugs are not allowed here.

You can't be serious, I thought hard drugs were compulsory in the cryptosphere,  especially in the top10, look at vitalik, junky if ever I saw one lol
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES - Complete Blockchain ecosystem for a token economy on: May 24, 2018, 01:05:40 PM

Why does it have to be the NEW waves addresses?

There are lots of us been holding more than thousands of waves in our wallet as yet can't receive these airdrops, it should have been us that you guys are prioritizing.  Keeping another wallet just for these airdrops aren't worth, just spread the amount ot give to all holders that worked  eversince.

Some airdrops happened to existing wallets before. And now they are trying to attract new users.

People will just recycle coins in and out of exchanges into 'new' accounts , which only serves to motivate gaming the airdrop and punishing honest existing hodlers who aren't comfortable recycling funds into new accounts to appear like a new user.

This airdrop needs work, just reward hodlers, or pay the ico bch to the ico investors.  Don't reward gaming, this airdrop will go to existing accounts mostly, you can't prevent that ...fail!
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: May 24, 2018, 04:34:05 AM
Are there any other developers officially on the Byteball team or is this still a one man show?

I appreciate Tony's principles of wanting to make this an organic community driven project without an ICO.  I also appreciate that this is Tony's baby and he is a bit of a control freak about it.  Unfortunately the reality of the cryptosphere today is that Byteball is going to continue to be further eclipsed by other massively well funded projects and left in the dustbin of history eventually if it doesn't start gaining traction fast.  Tony really needs to start throwing around that massive stash of undistributed GBYTE to give this thing momentum.

Hire 10 full-time developers.  Have them all sign year long contracts at a rate of 1000 GBYTE per year.  That's 185000$ at today's prices.  I am sure there are plenty of qualified programmers and software developers who would find that to offer an acceptable risk/reward ratio (risk of their salary depreciating in value vs appreciating).  That would only cost 10,000 GBYTE.  Imagine what 10 full time developers would be able to accomplish in a year.

Figure out a way to offer more incentive to witnesses at least for now.  Maybe some automated way of rewarding witnesses (start relatively high and have rewards slowly drop as time goes by so that in 5-10 years witnesses will be incentivized solely by transaction fees).  Right now there is very little incentive to become a witness, and even less incentive for users to manually select different witnesses other than the default.  The witnesses will forever remain centralized in Tony's hands unless this problem is solved.

Using the undistributed BB to pay competitve rewards for independent witness operators is a good suggestion, tony is a very smart guy, so I expect he has a plan in place to decentralise the witnesses already, and maybe he is going to pay some rewards from the remaining bytes.

As for adding more devs, tony has achieved amazing results so far, might be better to let third party companies add services on top, having tony employ people just further entrenches him as a 'single point of failure', the sooner tony disappears and retires from active duty the better (no offence tony, just the truth, the day you go the way of satoshi is the day BB is fully decentralised).
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: May 24, 2018, 04:25:37 AM
We really need the launch of the masternodes asap, do it before the next bull market so there is time to setup the network for anonymizing bitcoin which will become THE feature people need in the era of full kyc on most big exchanges. Soon the standard procedure for using centralised exchanges will be deposit btc to anonymizer, withdraw to exchange, trade, then withdraw to anonymizer, then back to home base.

We all know bitcoin is unsafe to use for ALL purposes without anon capabilities, legal and otherwise, and stratis needs to be ready to catch this usecase.
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: May 24, 2018, 03:35:05 AM
The Venezuelan student scheme shows a good way forward for future airdrops, a small amount of USD value can mean a lot to students in countries with low exchange rates, maybe target a campaign to students in Africa, South America,  South East Asia  etc if that went viral could easily get loads of new users, sort of like what Facebook did, but target low exchange rate countries where 10 USD is worth jumping through some hoops.

Verifying students is probably quite possible too, avoid sock puppets.

In such countries, people are more interested in dollars than in bytes. think that the distribution should be accessible to all equally.

Yes, so the student can sell their BB for whatever currency they want, but many would choose to keep it and hope for price appreciation. The point is students in Europe and USA wouldn't be bothered for 5-10 USD worth of value, but sure, all distro methods should be open to everyone, but marketing resources should focus where adoption is more likely i.e. where 10 USD might be worth many hours of equivalent in work. Where I live 10 USD buys a student 1 beer, that guy has very little incentive.

132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HUSH Secure Private Messaging and Transactions [Equihash] on: May 24, 2018, 02:24:54 AM
Are you shure about this? I see a decrease in USD price, and we are still on a downfall since the middle of April.

No he is not sure. Unfortunately HUSH is going down since the activity has disappeared here and hidden behind closed doors of Discord channel.

This is a natural outcome from the growth of the crypto space in general, I too don't like having so many discord channels to follow now, but this forum is inadequate for multibillion dollar projects,  and it's less to do with censorship, and more about better communication tools. Community members and devs can always post summary updates here of what is being discussed in slack and discord channels, jl777 does that for komodo regularly, but obviously many devs don't bother with communication.

Ultimately third parties will provide these summaries for people to keep up with all these crypto projects, and charge a fee, it'll be the only way to follow things soon, and provide some projects like newbium with a god revenue source.

Want to know more about Airdrop from Waves Platfrom to new WAVES HODLers?

We just opened a new thread with the terms of our Airdrop! You are warmly welcome:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4179838

Seriously, the airdrop rules read like a ponzi , I know it good to encourage new users and adoption but doing that by offering rewards rather than new use cases and organic user growth seems like a play straight from bitconnect and Carlos.

I'd prefer the bch waves ico funds generated be used for better purposes than an airdrop dressed up like a ponzi. The ico funds that generated the bitcoin cash should righfully go to the ico investors, just convert the bch into waves and allow ico investors to claim into their original waves account. That would still pump the price, with these rules people will just send their waves to an exchange, and then withdraw into a new account, recycling the same users into new accounts.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: May 24, 2018, 01:52:18 AM
Anyone that has been around crypto for a while knows that NEM is the sleeping giant of most projects.

Honestly, NEM is a large cap crypto, consistently in the top 20 for years now and not exactly sleeping. I think it's better to be realistic, nem is wide awake and consistently adding value to the ecosystem incrementally, like Apple or Google or Facebook,  anyone who expects multibillion dollar entities to 'wake up' and suddenly x10 their market cap is smoking better hooch than me.

The sleeper coins are way less valuable than nem,  don't try and assume under dog status, nem is one of the big boys of crypto already, a crypto blue chip investment.

You want a real sleeping giant, go read up on CBX aka Bullion, or better still Komodo
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PPI] PiedPiperCoin (Airdrop Completed) (Bounties Announced) on: May 24, 2018, 01:39:29 AM
Skycoin is the real life piedpipercoin, just listed on binance, been around since 2014.

Skycoin really is a coin backing a decentralised internet that's had years of work put into the tech, maybe some of you guys who want the real thing to go along with your meme coin might do some research and support skycoin, plus it's pumping it's ass off right now too.
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA is the next big thing on: May 24, 2018, 01:30:52 AM
I am still buying a lot of IOTA here. I will buy it at every dip that wee see in the next couple of months until it goes up again. It is a safe bet for me and I will make some nice profits when this starts to pump again Smiley

Honestly, I have not added to my iota bag in months, I don't trust exchanges for storage, and the current wallet scares the bollocks off me with having to make your own seed, and address reuse issues etc. Once the trinity waĺet looks imminent  I will try and buy up on an exchange and transfer within 24 hours, probably missing out on some low prices, but whenever I read an account of some poor guy who lost his stash i know that could easily have been me.

Trinity wallet will herald an iota boom, lots of noobs and tech phobes need trainer wheels.
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DVC]DevCoin - Official Thread - Moderated on: May 24, 2018, 01:23:32 AM
So good to see devcoin still has active community, it was the first coin I heard of in the cryptosphere that started with a noble cause in mind, not just a way to make a buck. So hope it continues on and eventually takes off in the mainstream media.
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XLM] Stellar - Decentralized trading platform on: May 24, 2018, 01:20:35 AM
Today I heard an interview with Jim Rickards where he was saying xlm is one of the only crypto he personally recommends, which coming from a guy with his back ground is a pretty solid endorsement. Does he have any official connection with stellar, is he an advisor in any way? If not maybe you guys should get him signed up.
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: May 24, 2018, 01:16:25 AM
How is the new issue funding round going from selling more siafunds, is it jumping through all the sec hoops, was it fully subscribed?

So wish it was open to smaller investors and not just accredited whales.
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SKY] Skycoin Launch Announcement on: May 24, 2018, 01:10:54 AM
Congrats to the skycoin devs, looks like you guys started developing the real piedpipercoin back in 2014 , amazing to think a new decentralised internet is going to get a real chance of mass adoption now, great stuff!
