I have a question for you all 1080ti miners. I plan on buying couple gpu (i prefer Nvidia), but it seems to me that rx Vega is much more profitable and even cheaper than 1080ti. What is your opinion?
Vega 56/64 can only be bought as blower cards right now and are good on Eth/dual and Monero/XMR and look to be at best $3 per day 1080ti can be bought in all sorts of configuration and are good for a wide variety of coins and algorithms, some of which can produce $4-6 (or more) even now in this relative downturn. Not so long ago during peak times I was seeing $16+ per day per card, and maybe those days will return ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) What? $4-6 today on a single 1080ti? Which coin/pool is that? it's True , i start mining today this coin with 3x 1080 TI (2 ASUS OC STRIX and 1 ZOTACK Extreme) the h/r are ~17 - 17.8 MH/s all 3 cards make 55+ I do not find a calculator for this coin, but with a normal calculator and a wallet log, I get the same digits if the rate persists or increases ... things are not to be underestimated Which coin do you mine now? Hshare (HSR) HSR train has gone away ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) the difficulty and nethash growth very quickly. Just few days ago it was great but now it's over He just got lucky. You cant say you make 4-6$ a day because you hit the pump (you could say you were making 20$ mining lbc or vertcoin if you were mining it just before the pump). The thing that is a fact is that 1080ti makes 3$ max and vega makes 4$, its cheaper and with lower power consumption.

Hey guys,
I'd like to know from your experience, how much will this GPU last if I'm mining 24/7 below 60 degrees, 100% fanspeed?
Thanks !
How did you manage to get 60 degrees with 100% fanspeed? Where do you hold your card(s)? Is it in a desktop case? If that is the case, you should remove the side from it and no need to have fans over 70%.

I own both on a few rigs and I wont ever purchase another AMD GPU in my life even if there was a nice discount ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Why not? At first I also thought that, but lately my Nvidia rigs are crashing while AMD rx 470 and 480 are working perfectly without any problem... When you consider price of gpu, power consumption and hashrate, seems like vega is almost 2 times better choice than 1080ti... never had a single problem with all my Nvidia (30+, more coming this week), always have problems with all of my AMD rigs (2 x 6 GPU). Never again. Oh and I had to send 2 for RMA in the first 10 days. Just dealing with the drivers is a pain in the *beep*. always have to use ddu. Some weird behavior too... I started with that Im glad I choose to swicth to Nvidia. Never again ! hehehe If you prefer AMD, then what are you even doing in this thread ?? Even if I said i preferred AMD (which I didnt say) I have Nvidia rigs so that's why I am reading and posting on this thread. I just gave my personal opinion with my experience and added some calculations which is true (that AMD is more profitable than Nvidia). I also asked people about their opinions, so no need to be rude...

My miner keeps crashing. I have 6x Asus rog strix Nvidia 1080ti and it worked perfectly for 3 months and now started to crash very often saying error: looks like GPU2 (and other GPUs) are stopped, restart attempt. And stops mining. I didnt change anything (not hardware or software/settings), but when i just close ewbf miner and star bat file again it starts normally to mine (I dont need to restart windows). Sometimes it works for a day or 2 but sometimes it wont last for 2 hours... Any idea?

Does anyone know is today the day of Byzantium release on ethereum network? I read it should be released on October 9th. It should reduce blocktime from 30s to 14s (but also reduce reward from 5eth to 3eth per block). It would be increase 24% from current state...
23% to be exact. It will be deployed when block reaches 4,370,000. I see news about reducing the block time from 30s to 20s, will see. 14s it is better. But if 14s be true, 3gb 1060 may lose relevance before PoS. For how long you think rx 470 4gb will be able to mine eth?

whats the round up for Q4 2017?
what does the 1080Ti do best currently?
Yeah, what is currently best to mine (something that is steady earner, not needing to change coin every day)? I dont trus www.whatomine.com at all, those numbers are wrong... Zcash is the steadiest coin in my opinion. Largest market cap of equihash algo with lowest volatility. If you are content with switching, you will make slightly more. Zcoin, lyra2v2 algo has same revenue but it uses 130W of power only. You'll need to upgrade your rigs to CUDA 9 for best performance. I like less heat and saving a few cents of power, so I'm at zcoin now. Im not familiar with CUDA upgrade, but I like the sound of 130w usage. Could you please give some link how to upgrade and mine zcoin? (I accidentally wrote as a quote)

I'm a little late to the party but just pointed 1.5 KSOL to the pool, How can I calculate coin yield per day / week . month from that based on current difficulty ? I've taken away about 30% of my ETH mining efforts to point to this. So its a bit of a gamble! Will there be efforts to list VoteCoin on major exchanges after the ICO finishes ? What happens if the ICO doesn't reach target ? http://pool.votecoin.site/workers/t1bgoc3UPcybANr3HbYDjbpY7ocEuQU9FPeThanks 1. You can calculate on whattomine.com, algorithm is equihash, you get can difficulty from http://explorer.votecoin.site/ last block. 2. Now devs are waiting for response from Poloniex. 3. If ICO doesn't reach target, you will receive some extra bonus. from official site: Coins unsold at the end date of ICO will be distributed between current contributors in proportion to their purchased value. So for example if only half of the coins is sold through ICO, all participating users will receive additional 100% bonus reward!
Did you say Poloniex? ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

4$ a day for 1080ti seems too high
Maybe it is some smaller pool which got lucky and found more blocks than it should, so profitability was a bit higher.

What do you expect the price to be in the beginning? I think it will be very low (about 0.005-0.01) which doesnt make sense because it is supposed to be "gold". I really dont think this one will live a long life...
