121  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cashing out large amounts of bitcoins? on: June 11, 2017, 03:40:22 PM
Be carefull... Banks could freeze the money once it lands if you cannot account for it some banks in the UK have started closing accounts of people using bitcoin exchanges.

My advice would be to seek advice first from your exchange and also make your bank aware of the large deposits arriving and possibly break down the transactions into smaller amounts 5 million is a lot to send in one go the risk is huge. breaking it down into multiple 100,000 payments makes more sense.

Also, speak with the exchange in person or on the phone before you do this too.

Enjoy your bit fortune!

124  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Storing my seed in Lastpass on: June 06, 2017, 06:42:57 PM
USB stick - Truecrypt volume pop it in there encrypt it.  best place to keep them. and there encrypted so double protection. just make a couple of backups for emergency use.

Using a TrueCrypt container can give you a false sense of security. First, when you typed your seed or password in a document you later saved in the container, you briefly exposed the seed or password to logging malware. Worse, any time you open a TrueCrypt container your password and work is saved in virtual memory paging files which are not erased on shut down. You need to take steps to tell your machine to delete the paging files or (better) only run TrueCrypt from a computer with whole disk encryption.

True. Or just use air-gapped system when decrypting like you say on a machine with FDE add's 2nd layer of protection.

Excellent!!  I had to order some fans for my PI's I thought it might not be a smart idea to run it for that length of time without one, have you run into any issues with it how is the stability of it on the PI?
127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: whats longest its taken for blockchain to go through? on: June 05, 2017, 10:18:28 PM
I normally set my fee to high just because I want it to try get confirmed within the next two blocks and it usually happens very quickly you get your conformation I watch the blocks on blockchain after so long you refresh new blocks and transactions have been done and payment is complete. some people have had transactions stuck for longer periods of time too rebroadcasting should be done as a last resort in my mind don't manually set fees unless you know how to calculate them correctly .
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Minergate - Bad Shares on: June 05, 2017, 09:52:16 PM
Been mining a few on there seems there's some coins that have almost no value yet so I am going to grab a few different ones. Its CPU mining I have been using BNC only around 775 shares with 3 bad shares. didn't leave it on there too long BCn 1.9805 still showing unconfirmed now so just stopped and moved onto ETC got coming a few cards I found a place online with a good stock of Nvidia GeForce GT 130 1.5GB DX10 for £7.50 each so i got like 25 on route!
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Minergate - Bad Shares on: June 05, 2017, 09:33:28 PM
Fired up minergate left it for a few hours came back to find this Good shares:36,727  Bad shares:5,921

I think I might need to delete the DAO and re download?

Can anyone confirm this for me please thanks..

I highly suggest you don't use Minergate in the first place.  They don't use optimized miners, and your hashrate will be very low as compared to just downloading a miner and setting it up yourself.  We can help with that here if you are stuck.

Its just on a old machine its not anything too important seems to be working ok now though shares seem to be increasing

My gpu dose not seems to be showing thought its a  Radeon HD 7560D but it crashes minergate when trying to execute the start in CMD

Hi buddy welcome to the forum.

here is a quick guide on how to use the magnifier tool on your pc.

https://youtu.be/odqwkPJQS_Y

To open Magnifier using touch or a mouse
Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings. ...
Tap or click Ease of Access, tap or click Magnifier, and then move the slider under Magnifier to turn it on.
Magnifier will open in Full-screen view unless you change the settings.

Hope this helps you people will become frustrated if you constantly post in caps, but we understand your need for it.

I hope the bitcoin price dose come back down now there is much more interest world wide it it but the price being so high puts a lot of people out the markets at the moment.

If you have been hacked you most likley have some virus or wallet snatcher or key-logger on your machine.

My advice would be to download malware bytes from here : https://www.malwarebytes.com/

runs a full scan - make sure to go into the options of the scan and check the box that says "Scan for rootkit"

Once you have finished the scan if there is nothing showing its time to do a boot time scan with AV.

I like kaspersky antivirus the trial can be had here : https://www.kaspersky.co.uk/downloads

Make sure you update the AV and run a full boot time scan with it..

If still nothing is showing then you possibly have a "bad Bios" rootkit somewhere.

Always keep you wallet ID safe. I never advice keeping it on your machine I keep mine in encrypted SD cards that I use only with once PC that dose nothing but hold my coins. that way I can rest asure I would be picking up anything nasty online and it get my wallets files or my wallet keys.  Your seed also should be protected.. I know my seed is normally 12 words.. I add words in that only I know are the wrong words so even if someone did get my seed they would struggle to pull the legit seed out as there are additional words added random locations.

It's not difficult.  Our government is interfering in Muslim lands.. Dropping bombs on children.. yet we sit back and let them and shout and make a fuss when it happens to us..

Our own government is so in the pocket of america now we just sign off the bombs to drop in Syria.. We should of known better after Iraq war.

the British government is allowing our country to be destroyed from the inside and using the media and these attacks to justify there war crimes  yes war crimes in Syria..

No one give a shit when a eurofighters dropping bombs on schools, hospitals, kids!! And people here really don't understand that its because of this we are becoming the target.

the sooner we leave the east alone the better. But I think no matter what now. the damage is done forever.

In time our people will stand up and over throw our government they have lost sight of the one job they are in palce to do "PROTECT THERE PEOPLE"

instead we have to deal with there bullshit and let our children pay the price for there actions..  They should be attacking the people who make the choices.. We the people no longer have a choice.

137  Other / Off-topic / Re: London terror attack on: June 04, 2017, 08:45:24 AM
Sorry are you talking about that thing British Muslim? I don't class them as British. and they can't class themselves as British in any shape or form if they commit acts like this.

Contrary to propaganda, the British people are hybrids, products of successive waves of invaders – Celts, Romans, Anglo-Saxon-Jute-Frisian, Danes, Norse and Norman.  Broadly speaking, the Scots were originally from Ireland; the English were from Germany, the Welsh came from England; the Irish came from Spain (maybe) and Scotland.  Since the Norman invasion of 1066, they have been joined through the centuries by more folk from Scandinavia, France, Holland, Ireland, the Caribbean, Africa,

When used in a historical context, "British" or "Britons" can refer to the Celtic Britons, the indigenous inhabitants of Great Britain and Brittany, whose surviving members are the modern Welsh people, Cornish people and Bretons.

No where there do I see a Muslim..

Blockchain and CMD??   I really think you need to do some more reading on how bitcoin works.  It has nothing to do with CMD,
139  Other / Off-topic / Re: London terror attack on: June 04, 2017, 08:26:38 AM
Exactly!  Ive been called a racist today for posting that anyone on a terrorist watch list in the UK should be DEPORTED along with there associates and family.. Yet the British government are far to PC these days.. they don't want to raid mosques to weed out the radicals that preach nothing but hate towards us they would rater we became "tolerant" to these things and like you say we forget till it happens again.

They spent millions of phone tapping. Internet survalince, Blanket survalines. Yet when something like this happens they come out and say " Oh yea we knew this guy" but we didn't think he was a threat.  IF YOU KNOW HIM GET HIM OUT OUR COUNTRY!
