All this selling is based on FUD out of China. I bought BTC today. LOL The fundamentals haven't changed folks. Limited supply, some lost forever. A median of exchange that ALL OTHER crypto's are priced against. Let the sub 80 IQ's sell. LMAO... it is like buying a New World Currency that has no CENTRAL BANKER....... at a discount.

COME ON BLOCK!!! MINE ON WITH KANO-SAN!!!

It's not just $BTC though, it's all of them.  $BTC broke the five handle a few minutes ago but rallied back up $600.  Now's the time to be buying and mining.

I just watched the price go up $500 in 5 minutes.

MINE ON!! Cheesy

My gut says a bunch of buy orders got hit at 10k which helped recover the market from the tumble. MINE ON!

Hey...some of us remember when it was under USD $300...  Kiss
I remember when it was $2 at the end of 2011 after a 'bubble' of $30 at the beginning of the year Smiley

I was looking for the vomiting emoji...sad to see it's not here...a tear will have to do  Cry
Once I get my damn DeLorean up to 88 and get my ass back in time I won't have to worry anymore about anything!

Jesus it's a bloodbath out there today. I haven't seen steady sub 11,000 in quite a while.  Shocked

This pool has the best community.

I have one of Sidehack's hacked S7s (which used to be in Fuzzy's mine) running in my office again - at least another 3th/s to the pool!

Running in one of phillipma's silencer boxes.

https://i.imgur.com/kcA07t3.jpg

I haven't seen one of these silencer boxes. Does it actually kill out some of the noise? Must be nice to mine at work. Welcome back (if you ever left). I joined up with one S9 4 or so days ago. I've got one here, one at BitMinter and two at Slush trying to get enough to cover the electric cost for the 4 miners for the month. Once that happens I'll probably bring another miner here and another to BitMinter. I love both pools, but I'm always nervous to have all my eggs in one basket. Glad to see the blocks popping, and I'd like to think I brought a little luck with me Wink

I'm also not advertising or advocating for BitMinter over Kano or any other pool. Like I said, I'm loving this community so far even though I've been here four days.

This community has been very active so far and I love getting insight from other miners. Not too many in my area here in Arkansas.

If you are attempting to cover your electric cost for the month, why would you give away extra coin?  Huh  Surely if you spent 8-10k on miners you could float 450-500 dollar electric bill. Not putting all your eggs in one basic (even though I see it differently) I could understand but not wanting to maximize your profits.
One of the agreements with the wifey was no out of pocket expenses once I had the miners running. So once I cash in enough from Slush to cover January's expense the others will move and surely between the two pools, I will have enough to cover February. Luckily I didn't spend 8-10k. I got mine direct from BitMain at 1430 a piece. On top of that, I used only profits from old machines, and profits from the sale to cover the 4 new ones. My initial plan was to flip one and keep three, but I'm loving having the four running at the moment.

Never left - just didn't have this one machine running. The box drops noises from 55 db to 25db when i wrap it in a moving blanket. Sidehack's S7s draw like 900watts though, so not too loud anyway.

Have you tried the silencers that attach to the fans? I've always wondered how badly that affects the airflow and cooling. I'd almost think you'd need to throw another fan on the end of it to keep the air flowing correctly.

Just curious... Is anyone concerned about the BTC price? Any thoughts on where it might bottom out and if it’s going to recover? I’ve looked at the charts plenty and seen the dips but it really seems to be slumping lately.
Same thing people ask, every time it goes down before it goes back up again Smiley

Smiley Maybe it'll hit a penny a coin just long enough for me to buy them all up! Wink
Mine on!
 Grin
If it drops down close to $11k I'm going to buy a little bit. Easier than buying an S9  Grin

I was up all night working on a refurb S7. You should have been awake about 2 1/2 hours ago : $11,300.  Cheesy
Early bird and all that. Smiley
Mine on!

All input as I expected from people who've been doing this a lot longer than me so thanks for the input. Next question would be do most hodl in BTC? I ask because I played with the numbers a bit...

I have 0.08689536 BTC currently. If price goes up and I can sell at $17k that's $1477.22.

I could also buy 5.07823411 LTC with that right now and if LTC goes to...

$304 = $1543.78
$350 = $1777.38
$400 = $2031.29

All prices that have been hit in the last month or two. I know most probably like to hodl (end of story) but being new I've actually cashed out a few times now when price hits a good number then bought BTC again when it drops, rinse and repeat as long as it dips and raises of course. Always that chance I sell and it goes to the moon as well. I've even bought some other cryptos that have done very well with my mining income.

If this is too far a shift from the forum purpose I apologize but as long as we're waiting for the next block I was curious how others handle their payouts. Much respect to you guys here.

I have been burned both ways so I think it's really whatever's clever for you. My current policy is just to cash out enough for my electric and keep everything else. If I can make it to the next halvening then I feel like prices will skyrocket at that point. I will set what I call milestones and sell a portion at those. For example, 15k, 20k, etc. I won't sell all, I won't sell half, just enough to knock out a dent in some debt my lovely wife and my terrible spending habits have brought upon. Again, to each their own. One of the main reasons I mine on PPLNSG is so I don't get tempted to spend it a little at a time. It takes longer to accrue, but I get it in larger chunks. That's where my head is at.

Happy night! I just got one of the S9's Bitmain just released!

Congrats! I'm still on the "show me that we make profits" status with my wife. Once I actually start knocking out some debt with our miners, then she'll be on board with bringing a few more into the picture. Of course by then the miners will be $3,000 from Bitmain and 4 months out I'm sure Sad

Hello All!

Has anyone had any experience with the following power supply?

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIAA0C6UU2914&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleMKP-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleMKP-PC-_-pla-_-Power+Supplies-_-9SIAA0C6UU2914&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8-uN1MHa2AIVUUsNCh3wUw_eEAYYAiABEgK_h_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

I have been running on OLD OLD junk power supplies and it's time to upgrade!

I only have 4 S7's but you have to start somewhere so... Do you think that power supply will really run 2 S7's reliably or should I look elsewhere?

Mine on!

I run Amity labs power supplies on my L3's and S9's.  This unit powers 2 S9's, very good quality!  https://www.ebay.com/itm/Power-Supply-for-Two-x2-Antminer-S9-S7-L3-with-Ready-To-Plug-Harness-/182254895754

+1 to Amity labs PSUs. I have 1 and absolutely love it. If I didn't already have 4 apw3++, I would buy another Amity Labs. Great quality. I even picked up their PDU that runs off of my dryer connection, allowing me to run 4 S9's on 1 220v connection until i have my shed built to run everything.

Do you have a link for the PDU? I have an immersion experiment in the works and would LOVE a unit to power all four S7's!!!
Mine on!

Even though the listing shows out of stock, I sent a message and it took a little while but I got a response that said he had a few still left and that they don't list them on eBay any more because of how quickly they move. I would just shoot them an email or send a message on eBay to the seller. It's been great for me. I actually ended up wiring an extension cord to go from my dryer connection into my garage so my wife doesn't murder me for trying to run 4 Antminer S9's in the laundry room. I can confirm that this thing has in fact run 4x s9's flawlessly for several days now and I will let everyone know if I run into issues with it.

New S9 batch available, if anyone's in need. I didn't get an email this time, but saw a sponsored post on FaceBook of all places.

Their site shows stock.

Wrong, that wasn't Bitmain.

Maybe it's bitmain this time. Just got two emails for L3+ and S9 new batch being released.

Nice to see Cobra has moved a few more machines over, hopefully for good!

I'm with you, I'm ready to just sweetly unwrap this princess....

Hey Everyone,

I am new to mining and bit confused between Kano pool and other. I have 4 S9's and just wanted to compare the pools so I mined for 5 days at Kano with 2 s9's and 2 with other pool. So far at Kano pool we found 3 blocks since i have joined and Other pool i get daily payouts. After 5 days testing results are:

KanoPool:
Total BTC paid: 0.0098165
Other Pool BTC paid: 0.020124

How is it Kano pool is paying bit lesser than those high fee pool? is it because i have only contributed 5 days ? or am i Missing soemthing here?

No Bad intentions here just trying to understand with everypool and etc

Thanks in Advance
Because here you've not received your full reward yet.
You reward for each share is spread out over the 5Nd after you submit the share, to reduce variance.
So while on those other pools you get nothing more if you stop mining, here your reward per block will ramp down after you stop mining.
Currently the 5Nd ramp is roughly 15 days, so if you do a runner today Smiley you'll keep getting (smaller and smaller) rewards for probably another 15 days.
Of course that number "15 days" is based on the size of the pool and changes all the time.
See Help->Payouts for the above information and more.

I do have a q super noob quick question. I know someone else already asked, but I didn't really see a solution or answer. I'm running 1 S9 at Kano and 1 at a different pool. I'm trying to figure out if I'm having any issues early instead of later. Each pool tracks your progress, or should I say DISPLAYS your progress differently. My question is I'm averaging around 7 to 8 hundred shares on each round with 1 S9. Anyone can confirm that is in the ball park. Just want to make sure you guys aren't pulling in line 12,000 or 12,000,000 shares while I have a problem and keep waiting to figure it out. Thanks!
The hash rate shown on the Shift page and the Shift Graph over the last day (or so) is what matters.
Those hash rates are calculated from your difficulty accepted in the shift - i.e. related to your reward.
You wont see an S9 with a 20THs hash rate.
If you are seeing a constant 10THs or 5THs hash rate then there's something wrong with your S9 or it has less than 3 boards.

Thanks for the info. The hashrate is right where it should be, I was just concerned because of the whole "pay per share" aspect. I didn't want to mine for a month and then find that I was having an issue then. Thanks again for the info Kano...keep up the good work!

There is a (POSABLE) new miner out called Dragonmint miner. I saw it on Ebay for preorder and on Bitcointalk. It's supposed to hit 16TH. If it is legit it's great for mining and it's not Bitmain's. Launch date is March/April My advice is to wait and see before putting any money into a preorder.
If you trust that Dragonmint is the real deal, Is anyone interested in a group buy. I would like 2 more machines but I don't need 5. I might be able to sell one more.

The Dragonmint miner is real! I have had physical contact Smiley

I might get in on this, just a little further down the road. My wife is ready to murder me because I bought a couple miners. I've rarely been at the top, but I'm glad to see Fefox and even superchargingmachine are dedicated and sticking around. I'm hoping to be up in the top 25 consistently once I get all my rigs set up. I have had my two S9's running for about a week now (Thanks Bitmain) and my other two S9's just showed up but I'm waiting on PSU cables (Thanks Amazon!). Hopefully tomorrow I'll have 3 of the S9's hashing here and the fourth will transition after I get enough BTC to cover electricity for the month from Slush or BTC Pool.  I have to flip enough to cover the 4 in case this is one of those dreaded 90% blocks we're messing with.

Anyway, just wanted to say I'm glad to be here and glad I found the forum.
