1203  Economy / Speculation / Re: what should I do, I invested a lot on: August 18, 2014, 02:50:24 PM
The price of Bitcoin is not some straight line that always goes up, sometimes it goes down. But the fact remains, you still have the same amount of Bitcoins that you've always had. Its a bad idea to buy high and sell low if you intend to make a profit.

Either buy more low or take a vacation.

Site is down until further notice, from homepage:

There was a problem with the MySQL server, which I still don't understand how it happened, neither do the technical support at DigitalOcean.
The (updated) database is corrupted, there is no way to reverse the damage.

Unfortunately, a recent backup of the database was not made prior to the incident, and since the website was quite active even a 2 day old backup is useless.

AdBit.co services are suspended until further notice.

Updates will be posted here.

1207  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do offline addresses get known by the Blockchain? on: August 17, 2014, 05:13:13 PM
Think of it this way... ALL of the Bitcoin Addresses and Private Keys already exist.

So technically, Bitcoin Addresses are not generated Offline because they exist in the pool of possible addresses.

SHA256 algorithm can be used on a computer that is not connected to the internet. When you apply the SHA256 algorithm to any value then you end up with a Private Key. You can find the corresponding Bitcoin Address and write the private key down on a piece of paper. Since the computer was never connected to the internet then the address was "generated offline".

From there you can receive payments to the Bitcoin Address, but unless you import the private key into an online wallet like Blockchain.info or the Bitcoin client, then you will not be able to spend the coins.

1208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's a cool way to present .1btc to someone as a gift? on: August 17, 2014, 03:33:44 PM
I second giving them a nice paper wallet with cool design. That way they can hold on to the private key safely, and if they want to spend it they will have to learn more about Bitcoin and how to import the private key.

Here's some good sites:

https://bitcoinpaperwallet.com/
http://www.bitaddress.org

This also looks cool, but I don't know how trustworthy the company is:

Yes we do have anti-hacking and anti-cheating checks in place to ensure quality visitors. Only one account per IP address is allowed and only one Ad is allowed to be open at a time. All cheating attempts are logged and forwarded to the admin.

We are currently working on even more security enhancements that will be rolling out soon.

Do you have anti-spam / anti-bot measures put into place? I feel like I could easily write a script that would use HMA (VPN) and automate the whole process.
1210  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ann] CoinAdder.com - Earn 50 Satoshis per Click on: August 17, 2014, 03:15:01 AM
We've already paid out over 600,000 Satoshi in the first week. 50 Satoshi per click may not seem like much, but for just a few minutes a day you can earn 500 to 1000+ Satoshi plus 10% commissions when you share your referral link.

It does not take long to reach the minimum payout and receive your earnings.

If you are already clicking Ads for free BTC, then http://www.coinadder.com is a great addition to your list of daily sites.

This isn't worth anyone's time tbh, that's why you get no replies. We can get 0.001 just by begging.

You got to up your grame buddy.

Clicks are 100% real Bitcoin users. They are required to stay on your site at least 30 seconds, but my traffic analytics are showing an average of 2 minutes.

But clicks are fake, not from individuals of course?

Worst case scenario is it drops to $0, but hey  Tongue

Go on, call me stupid.

I won't.  Let's say worse case scenario it drops to $470 (another $30).  You'd be out, what, $180 total on your investment?  BFD.

And if it rallies you're in the black.
