Someone just ate a million dollar wall I was eyeballing. It took 3 seconds.
Someone had a large buy order for ~100 btc @ 12500 cdn (9750 US) when the price was sub 9K US on quadrigacx.  Everyone sold into it and it was gone pretty quickly.  Its trading at a $680 USD premium right now

That was the one.

WTF?

Binance wasn't even hacked.

"All funds are safe."

https://www.coindesk.com/funds-safe-binance-denies-crypto-hack-rumors/

What does Binance have to do with Kobayashi? How am I supposed to explain this to Ellen?

doom doom doom

DOOOMMM

160,000 BTC is nothing. A blip on the radar. This is good for Bitcoin.

I bet the trustee takes years to dump the bitcoins. Why would he rush when he's already earned $1.4 million in fees?

If he stretches it out for a few more years he can earn another $1.4 million.

https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/bitcoin-gox/

Quote
According to Kobayashi’s most recent status report on the Mt. Gox bankruptcy, dated Sept. 27, as trustee he has received 163.7 million yen, or about $1.4 million, in fees since his appointment.

My gambling days are behind me.

I guess the market is planning to sit like a lump until the rest of the Gox coins are dumped.
Only 160,000 coins to go. Woot!
1207  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 09, 2018, 01:08:19 AM
... the interesting part of the trustee GOXing was it took so few coins to accomplish a ~14k drop in price, i.e. 36,000 btc or ~$380 million spread over ~50 days.

The flip side to that being how high/fast BTC price can appreciate when similar sized inflows are experienced.
Yes, let's ignore the usual trading games and consider supply and demand.

I guess it was a big chunk for the ecosystem. The 'natural' amount added by mining during 50 days is 50 * 24 * 6 * 12.5 = 90k BTC at the moment. He added 36k or 40%. Let's say miners will sell just half of their mined BTC to cover running costs. Then Mr. Kobayashi added 80% to the natural supply...

If he really dumped this amount on exchanges not using OTC trades I would say it was at least good fuel for the FUD campaigns we've seen so far in Q1 and the price keeps up very well. Cool

How's Ellen supposed to explain this to her audience?

Anybody going to call a bottom?

Eventually.

2hrs ago Tether no withdrawals and deposits on Poloniex. Hence panic dump?

Maybe Mr Kobayashi just getting warmed up.
1210  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 08, 2018, 05:48:05 PM
I prefer to know that it’s a manipulated dump by one person or group of people. It just means that it’s all false & eventually the market will absorb the effects & carry on trucking.

It does look suspicious when the marked goes up slightly for days and than looses all he gained in 15 minutes because of a huge dump ...

That being said => We are doing this over and over again and the cycles doesn't seem to stop ... and this is the big problem now.

Anyone that told you the bear market is over was lying to you. Open your eyes!

Bitcoin “market cap”: $250 billion
Sale amount required to crash Bitcoin by over 65%: approximately $0.5 billion
House of cards, anyone? When a few whales finally decide to cash out, the party is over.

Well 2018 turned out to be a shitty year for bitcoin

Yeah such a shitty year, and so short, too.  I cannot believe how fast it has gone by.   As you get older, years seem to go by faster and faster.

Seems like it has been only a couple of months and 2018 is already over... Fuck!!!!!   Cry Cry

Edit: ah hah!!!!!!!!   I see that olseh beat my post by 7 seconds.

I have a stupid question about Japan. Don't they believe in auctions?
1217  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 07, 2018, 11:43:32 PM
I will say that  you do not have to wait for any kind of leg anywhere before you start to implement any such semblance of a JJG strategy.

Well I can hardly start stacking sells at the bottom. Can I?

Bottom? We were at merely $5873 pert near exactly one month ago.

So really, that's that. We're heading back down. This is the general consensus.

can someone lend me $1000000 ? I promise to pay you back double in 6 months

haha nice ... nice deal on both sides  Grin

$20k in 6 months is absurd. There I said it. Next leg up I start implementing the JJG strategy.

pl don't talk us all to death as well as him

Understood. Undecided
