If you support the Gold Standard you are now officially an extremist according to FBI:

I just added the FBI to my official AssClown list.

"If you, [specific person], kill five blue-eyed people right now, I'll give you 200 bitcoins."

Isn't this speech already banned as an overt act in a conspiracy to commit homicide?

Wikipedia: Criminal law ....  may require that at least one overt act must also have been undertaken in furtherance of that agreement, to constitute an offense. There is no .... requirement that any steps have been taken to put the plan into effect.

Anyway, I picked it to be banned.
1204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost Bitcoins on: February 13, 2012, 04:15:11 PM
Let me fix what revalin said

Slightly longer answer:  It does the same thing as when you throw away a ingot of gold.

Also oversimplified - if you lose an ingot of gold, someone may find it again. If you lose the keys to your wallet, there is basically zero chance of recovery. And yet the keys still exist!
1205  Economy / Economics / Re: New Anti-Money Laundering Rules Apply to Gift Cards on: February 11, 2012, 05:35:24 PM

Retailers must also report any suspicious activity using an IRS form called a “Suspicious Activity Report.”

Fill one out and list all IRS activities as "suspicious activity".

"I saw something so I said something".
1206  Other / Off-topic / Re: 1GH/s, 20w, $700 (was $500) — Butterflylabs, is it for real? (Part 2) on: February 10, 2012, 10:54:36 PM
I called the property management company that leases those apartments. The lady scoffed at the idea that someone was manufacturing anything up there.

So you seem to have found the address for his wire transfers (great detective work there) and latched on to that.  Firstly, I'm not sure why you're assuming that the address he receives wire transfers to is the same address they manufacture these things.  Why would it be?

Secondly, you seem to still be stuck on the "it's a scam!" bandwagon.   Even the hardcore trolls in here have given up on that one.  If it is a scam, it's a bloody intricate one.  I think you can give up on that broken record.   Try focusing on the delays instead, at least that's true and you can milk it a while longer.

PR for butterfly labs?  Smiley
1207  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for simple rapid prototyping for btc on: February 10, 2012, 08:54:32 PM
1/4" would work fine, just if I was doing rapid prototyping you usually pay per cubic inch of material and it only needs to be 2/10 thick

As Deslok says, 0.2" is not going to be available typically. Although 0.2" = 5.08mm, so maybe 5mm metric would work.

Send a drawing & quantity, I can make up a quote for you.
1208  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for simple rapid prototyping for btc on: February 10, 2012, 07:00:24 PM
It would take a little away from the design but could still work i think.  Can you cnc plastic thats 2/10 inch thick?

Possibly I might be able to cut these out of 1/4" stock and sand off 0.05 inches with a 48" sheet sander. That is, if you think you'll need enough to fill a sheet.
1209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What was working catalyst + sdk version (without cpu bug) on: February 09, 2012, 05:27:35 PM
If you just need the SDK 2.5 and have already installed a different SDK, then follow the instructions in this post:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=54693.msg651989#msg651989

I am mining with Catalyst 12.1 + ssaseneth's SDK 2.5 files (CAT 12.1 will install a newer SDK that reduces mining hash rate.)

With 6870 @940Mhz core and CGIMiner 2.2.3 + default kernel I reach 299 m/hash.

I can confirm NO CPU bug in my Win7 x64 system.
1210  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: *Catalyst 12.1 Preview* Decreased performance, anyone else confirm? on: February 09, 2012, 06:08:30 AM
Anyways it felt like forever, but I was able to revert to 2.5 SDK. Bitcoin offer is no longer valid. If you're using windows, simply replace these files with those of 2.5 SDK and you should have your faster mhash back

C:\Windows\System32\amdocl64.dll
C:\Windows\System32\amdoclcl64.dll
C:\Windows\System32\OpenCL.dll
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\amdocl.dll
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\amdoclcl.dll
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\OpenCL.dll

I also uploaded a rar file with these dlls if anyone needs them to revert. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9768004/AMD-APP-SDK-v2.5.rar
just extract it to the drive you have your OS installed on and it'll extract each file to the correct path.
edit: forgot link.

Wow THANKYOU! this saved my butt because i had copied the wrong files manually, even a reinstall did not fix it.

Flipped you a quarter ;^)

1213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: George Selgin discusses privatization of the money supply based on Bitcoin on: February 06, 2012, 03:27:53 AM
With all these professional papers and lectures I've noticed a commonality. None of them promote Bitcoin itself, they promote the idea of Bitcoin. It suggests they they don't really understand the real world evolution of the network of developers, miners, enthusiasts, and what they have been through. This is a revolution. It's like saying, "Hey Arab Spring, you have a good idea, but I think you should do it this way." They can bite me.

this is how these things start off; they are grudgingly giving way, step by step.  pretty soon they will understand that Bitcoin satisfies all that they recommend.

I think they do understand already. They're just miffed they didn't come up with it first.
1214  Economy / Speculation / Re: Poll :: When will Bitcoin reach $1 Billion total value on: February 03, 2012, 07:52:53 PM
There is no chance God exists... there's a remote chance a sasquatch exists... there's almost certainty Bitcoin will reach a market cap of $1b.

Too many logical fallacies here, and too little time.

1216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CIA "paying spooks" with bitcoin on: January 30, 2012, 10:27:29 PM

I have to disagree,  right off the bat it circles directly to this forum regarding Gavin heading to the CIA....  then it again alludes to why Satoshi never made "himself" public after inventing the technology.

I'll go with the most logical explanation: Satoshi has never been seen or heard from because he does not exist.

I stopped reading after you said that the people of Libya were "wealthy & happy" under Gadaffi. You been smoking to much of that shit from Silk Road  Cheesy!

he said the truth so keep reading or research yourself

Exactly. Why censor yourself? A clear sign of a conflicted point of view.

Gheddafi wasn't a terrorist?

First link i found

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2051507/Gaddafi-dead-Families-Lockerbie-bombing-victims-celebrate-dictators-death.html

Then we have Gheddafi shooting missiles against Italy.

http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attacco_missilistico_libico_contro_Lampedusa

Two SS-1 Scud

And
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1986_Berlin_discotheque_bombing

Add the tens of thousands of civilians he killed in Lybia. You protest peacefully->he orders military to shoot on you.

How did you place Gaddafi at the scene of these crimes? How is the USA allowed to shoot missiles destroy entire countries  without George Bush or Obama being declared a terrorist?

Quote
The frigate Bersagliere was about 19 kilometers (12 miles) off the Libyan city of Zlitan when the missile fell harmlessly into the sea about 2 km away, the Italian defense ministry and NATO reported.

"The ship was not harmed and continued on its mission," NATO said in a statement.

source: http://www.acus.org/natosource/gaddafi-forces-fire-missile-italian-warship

Sounds like a bullshit setup to me.

Score: Ghaddaffi:  -1, USA: 1,000,000
1219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Convince me that the bitcoin elite cannot become the next Rothschild family on: January 28, 2012, 07:55:54 PM

The reason is BTC does not exist in reality. As long as it stays there, random strings of character's in cyberspace

Of course bitcoin exists in reality. Anyone with the right tools can test for the existence and validity of the bitcoin blockchain.

Do you also propose that for example, prime numbers do not exist in reality? After all, they are only numbers. No, you're wrong. Our whole world system depends on the same mathematics and cryptography that bitcoin is based on.

You know what's ironic about your statement? The USD is less real than bitcoin! No one can look up an individual US dollar and test its validity. The Federal Reserve simply declares it into existence, as if they were God.

I stopped reading here

Gheddafi was a dictator and a terrorist.

Oh and i am NOT american.

Care to show some evidence besides hearsay?
