^^^ Disappointing performance from the Lankan women once again. Apart from India, none of the other Asian teams can compete against SENA nations in women's cricket. And during yesterday's match, Sri Lanka had the home advantage, as the match was being played at the Galle International Stadium. The Lankan bowlers actually did well to restrict Australia to 228. Chamodi Praboda and Shashini Gimhani were exceptional, with Hiruni Hansika providing good support. But in return, apart from Sanjana Kavindi none of the other batters could get to a good score.

Without Matheesha Pathirana and Mostafizur Rahman, CSK looked very weak in this team especially in the last match where they took the field against SRH. No bowler could bowl well in that match as well as no batsman could bat responsibly due to which CSK collected less and SRH was able to collect that less easily. While CSK started the season very well, they lost the match against SRH due to some wrong decisions early on. If these two fast bowlers are not in the XI in the next match, we may see such deterioration in CSK's performance in the next match as well. Matheesha Pathirana is good at yorkers whereas Mustafiz is a very effective bowler towards the end so these two bowlers should definitely be included in the playing XI.
Chennai Super Kings bowling looked toothless without these two. Matheesha Pathirana and Mostafizur Rahman are their best bowlers at the moment. The former missed the match due to an illness, while Mustafizur had to travel to Bangladesh to get his United States visa (for the upcoming T20I world cup). In their absence, the responsibilities were taken over by Deepak Chahar, Mukesh Choudhary and Maheesh Theekshana. Choudhary went for 27 runs from his sole over, while Deshpande and Chahar went for 10 runs per over.

I agree with you about how well Sri Lankan cricket team was playing. They were doing great and now they have won the test matches series by 2-0. Kamindu Mendis has been outstanding in this series winning awards for his excellent performance. He is a valuable player for the team. I am excited to see how they do in future matches. Sri Lanka should be proud of their team and I hope they keep getting better. On the other hand Bangladesh need to focus on their mistakes which can be good for them for future. If they will eliminate mistakes so they will make a good comeback in coming matches with other teams. Sri Lanka do produce quality talent, despite the absence of a proper first-class system. Kamindu Mendis and Matheesha Pathirana are perfect examples. If they can organize a proper region-based 4-day competition, then in the long term it will benefit the national team. But they don't have any quality players outside Colombo. One way is to distribute the Colombo players to different regions and then organize the tournament. But if they do so, there is no guarantee that the locals will support the respective teams.

Ireland A won the ODI match against Nepal A at Kirtipur, despite getting bowled out for 174. In return, they got Nepal all out for just 60 runs. Only two of the Nepal batsmen got to double digits - Bhim Sharki and Binod Bhandari. Matthew Humphreys returned amazing figures of 4.5-1-8-6. Only one more match remain in this series, and that will be played tomorrow at Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. Ireland is ahead in ODI series by 2-0, and Nepal won the T20 series 2-1.

Schedule has been announced for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Challenge League. Papua New Guinea, Denmark, Jersey, Kenya, Qatar and Kuwait are in Group A, while Italy, Uganda, Bahrain, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tanzania and China are in Group B. One thing you may notice is that there is a greater number of teams who don't have even one native player (especially from the GCC region). Teams like Vanuatu, Argentina and Israel who used to play with 100% native squads have dropped out of the tournament.

I never imagined that both the teams would perform so well, Shubman Gill of Karro's Gujarat Titans team has performed well after a long time. Due to which the Gujarat Titans team players were able to score 199 runs, but due to not creating pressure from the bowling side, the Gujarat Titans team could not win. Even though Punjab Kings were under wicket pressure early on, they performed well enough. And managed to win at the last minute, and Punjab King took the fifth place in the points table.
Both the teams now have equal number of points. Gujarat might have gone up if they had won yesterday's match, but unfortunately Gill's effort was not enough to take them there. The Gujarat bowling is looking extremely weak. Rashid Khan is one of the legends in franchise T20 cricket, but his form has remained horrible so far in this season. And this happens to a lot of the spin bowlers. After a while, the batsmen are able to study their bowling style. However, players like Ashwin add constant variations, so that he remains one step ahead of the batsmen.

Gujarat Titans performed well early on, scoring enough runs to secure a win, saving 199 runs to take the team to a deserved place. But the strong team Punjab Kings performed better, Shikhar Dewan entered the field as the opening batsman of the Punjab Kings team. He got out early and everyone thought Punjab Kings would lose, but they came in last and performed so well that it was enough to take the team to the winning end. The main sign of losing this match was due to the poor bowling performance of the Gujarat Titans team, as they could not secure the win by scoring 199 runs.
Gujarat Titans don't have any superstars among their bowlers. Rashid Khan and Umesh Yadav are well known names, but they are out of form at this moment. Mohit Sharma used to be quite good in depth overs, but yesterday he leaked too many runs. Apart from Noor Ahmad, all the other bowlers were off color today for the Titans. The experiment with Azmatullah Omarzai also failed yesterday. Asking him to open the bowling was a mistake, as he doesn't have enough experience at this level.

Before this match Gujrat Titans and Punjab Kings played 3 matches against each other in IPL in which two matches were won by Gujrat Titans and in the last IPL 2023 Gujrat Titans beat Punjab Kings in today's match I feel the same that Gujrat will win this match but I was wrong Well, they played a good match by giving a 199 target which Punjab achieved in 19 overs and 5 balls if Punjab missed a ball they would lose the match. Both teams played well and in both teams, a few players showed an outstanding performance. S. Gill in Titans Did 81 runs on 48 balls which shows how much he was prepared and in the Kings team S.Singh did 61 runs on 29 balls.
What is the point in scoring 81, if he can't win the match for his team. I would say that Shashank Singh's 61 was more valuable as it enabled Punjab Kings to win the match. Things didn't went well for Gujarat. The reliable Mohit Sharma conceded 18 runs during the penultimate over, and by then the match was over. Azmatullah Omarzai in the previous over conceded 16. All this meant that Gujarat lost a match which they could have won otherwise. Tomorrow we have the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings. CSK will be the solid favorites.

It was a match that could have been won by Gujarat Titans. They were in drivers seat when they had Punjab Kings struggling at 70/4 and then at 111/5. It was Ashutosh Sharma who changed the course of the match. Shashank Singh scored a brilliant 61 from the other end, and these two simply butchered the Gujarat bowlers. Anyway, the loss means that Titans move to the bottom half of the points table. They have 4 points from 4 matches, while Punjab Kings also have same number of points from same number of matches.

Punjab Kings are fighting back, but I have a feeling that they have lost too many wickets. They need another 43 runs in 20 balls. It could have been achievable in case they had wickets in hand. But now they have lost 6 wickets and along with Shashank Singh they have the lower order batsman Ashutosh Sharma at the crease. Harpreet Brar and Harshal Patel to come next. 3 more overs remain, and IMO they will be bowled by Mohit Sharma, Umesh Yadav and Azmatullah Omarzai.

^^^ There were a total of 6 matches and out of that 4 times Bangladeshi women were dismissed for double digit totals. The gap between these two teams is just too huge, and I don't know the logic in organizing this series. Bangladesh should be ideally playing against teams such as Sri Lanka and associate teams such as Nepal. And also, I am not sure where all the ICC funds are vanishing into. They don't have a proper 4-day first class setup for men, and domestic cricket is almost inexistent as far as women's game is concerned.

There is an excellent article in ESPN-Cricinfo regarding qualification for the 2027 ODI World Cup. This time a total of 14 teams are going to make the cut, compared to 10 in 2023. Back then Netherlands was the only associate side, but this time there will be at least 2 associate teams (and probably more). 10 out of 12 full member nations will get direct qualification. 2 (most probably Ireland and Afghanistan) need to play the CWC qualifiers, along with 8 associate sides. 4 teams from the CWC qualifiers will get the slot for world cup.

Sri Lanka played very well against Bangladesh rightly because the Bangladesh team is currently very weak due to lack of good players. But New Zealand, Australia and India will be very challenging teams for Sri Lanka and when Sri Lanka plays against them I don't think they can cross more than 300 runs in any innings. Most likely they will collect less than 300 runs per innings. So there is no chance for Sri Lanka to be very happy winning the match with Bangladesh by such a high run margin. Because challenging matches are waiting for them in the coming days. They will have a lot of trouble to deal with them Gap between pig-4 and the remaining teams keep on increasing. Only exception is that of South Africa and Pakistan. They have managed to remain competitive. Teams like West Indies, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have gone down the drain as far as test cricket is concerned. Now my question is, why these countries need to play test cricket? The ICC is forcing them, but neither the boards nor the players want to play. Money is in T20. Test format is quite a lot effort intensive, and at the same time salaries are low (when compared to that in franchise T20 leagues).

Shubman Gill finally got to a half-century and this is going to help him to confirm a slot within the squad for T20I World Cup. Gujarat Titans got themselves to close to 200, although for some time it looked as if they may struggle to cross 170. Rahul Tewatia helped a bit in the end, with his big hits. For Punjab, Kagiso Rabada was expensive once again, and so was Harshal Patel. Perhaps it is time to drop Harshal now, as he is constantly underperforming. Now Punjab Kings needs around 12 runs per over, which is going to be very tough to achieve.

Only Sri Lanka's excellent performance could not keep them ahead of Bangladesh, while Bangladesh's poor performance also helped them to beat Bangladesh by a huge margin of runs. In both matches, Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh by huge margin of runs. Sri Lanka's performance was not what we expected but they did better than expected. This is a great achievement for them really. I appreciate their performance. good luck for them
This series is quite irrelevant. Lankans can rejoice over the 2-0 series win, but then it came against one of the weakest teams in tier-1 test cricket. As of now, test cricket is divided into two tiers. 9 countries in the first tier, and 3 countries in the second tier. This is very much asymmetrical. I want the first tier reduced to 6 countries - Australia, England, India, Pakistan, South Africa and New Zealand. Remaining 6 countries can form the tier-2 and the top-6 associate sides can make up tier-3 in test cricket (including Nepal, Scotland, Namibia.etc).

Gill is fighting for his spot in the T-20 WC squad. Competition is really tough. He got good starts in some of the matches, but he is yet to get a 50. Anyway, in today's match he may get to 50. Now he's batting on 46 and in all probability he should be getting a half-century. That said, the competition is really tough. A number of younger players are in contention for the top slot. BTW, GT looks all set to reach a total of around 180-200. But the big question is whether that is going to be enough at the Narendra Modi Stadium. It offers a lot of support for the batsmen.

You are right Sri Lanka outstanding performance in this series and whitewashed Bangladesh by 2-0. Bangladesh poor performance throughout this series didn't played well. The Player of the Series reward is Kamindu Mendis for his amazing batting performance in both test matches especially in the second test match batting good scored an important 92 runs inning. I think Bangladesh should learn from their mistakes and improve their batting performance for the next matches.
This is the risk when you depend too much on tailored pitches to win matches. The issue here was that Sri Lanka had better spinners, and their pacers are quite experienced in bowling under unsupportive conditions. And Bangladesh batsmen hardly showed any patience, even though the pitch was a bit difficult to bat on. Apart from that long standing issues remain. Bangladesh's weakness in longer format results from the lack of a proper 4-day structure back home. And BCB is not taking any action at this time.

Namibia batted first and set a low target 101 runs in loss of 8 wickets in the first inning of the match. Oman's current score is 62 runs with only a loss of one wicket against Namibia. Oman needed 40 runs from 70 balls to win this match. From Oman, Khushi is playing at 45 runs not out from just 28 balls and very close to the half-century. Namibia needs to some quick wickets to get back in the match otherwise Oman win this match easily.
Pathetic performance by Namibia once again. And these defeats will be having a major impact on the T20I ranking for Namibia. They were in a comfortable position when compared to the other associate nations, but now they are slipping down a lot. And Namibian squad looks quite strong on paper. They are having heavyweights such as David Wiese and Ruben Trumpelmann, in addition to Gerhard Erasmus, Bernard Scholtz and Jan Frylinck. And yet they lost the match today by a very heavy margin, as they were bundled out for a total of just 101/8.

Well, the series between Australia and Bangladesh ends today with a clean sweep of the Bangladesh team. Don't know why the Bangladesh team did not win a single match on their home ground, they even did not properly chase the Australian team's target. Today they are still stuck in the centuries and have not even crossed it and the Australian team won it. The start of Bangladesh was also too bad in 6 runs one was out and the same all the players gave their wickets so easily. They proved themselves that both Australian women as well as. Men's Teams can give you a bad defeat in your home ground. First, they won the cup against India and now the women's team badly defeated the Bangladesh team.
LOL.. are you sort of surprised? Australia is way out of their league. It doesn't matter whether Bangladesh is having the home advantage or not. Australia has terrific bowlers who are experienced enough to rout the Bangladeshi batting lineup in any type of surface. And once again, Bangladesh got bowled out for a two digit score. Nigar Sultana, the captain top-scored with 32. She could have batted up the order, but then at 7th position she was unable to contribute much. Tayla Vlaeminck was the hero for Australia this time.

South Africa Women vs Sri Lanka Women 3rd T20I
Today will be the third and final match of the T20 series between Sri Lanka Women vs South Africa Women. So far there have been two matches where both the teams have won one match each to tie the series 1-1. As both the teams have the ability to beat each other, today's match will be very interesting and competitive match. But I will put South African women ahead. I think South Africa women can win this match today. Which of these two teams do you think will be ahead?
Surprise victory by Lankan women. This is an excellent result for the South Asians due to two factors - they were playing under SENA conditions, and they managed to chase down a formidable total. South African bowling didn't clicked today, despite having some of the well known names in T20 cricket such as Marizanne Kapp, Ayabonga Khaka and Nadine de Klerk. All credit to Chamari Athapaththu and Harshitha Samarawickrama. They added 97 runs for the 2nd wicket and got the Lankans very close to the target.
