some people like me have very limited understanding of what is discussed regarding technical aspects.
I am interested in an optimized miner.
regardless of the hash function chosen, will you create the optimized miner or will the end user be expected. I am trying to learn ubuntu still, but most likely will not have that up and running by the time this project is started.

thank you

looks like the problem is still occuring despite merged mining having stopped 1 hour ago.

E-notes
NetNote

NightNote
NightCoin

these when read out loud sound well. You want something that is appealing and obvious of what it is. The goal is to attract the General public, not just galvanize the already initiated in crypto currency. Regular joe-shmoe I think might prefer the first 2.

what's interesting is the critics of honeypenny name are  not proposing any other name. they are now invested in Monero and bytecoin.
this coin needs a good name, but not something gimmicky. dogecoin is doing well but that is a fluke.

this is very good technology. a good name  and technology will carry it. community participation will carry it. Monero has some advantages but can be overcome.

nightcoin/bitnote are my two favorites.

i like note as no other coin has it.

mine is 2.5 also. but if the goal is to accumulate alot in a short space of time then it is not a gratifying endevour. however, at 2.5 you should still be mining coins in 4-5 days. still worth it in opinion. do not know yet the potential of this coin.

once mining coins take a month at 2.5 h i believe that this is truly the end of solo mining on that hash rate. this is based on my reading from other posters. depends on your personal demand i suppose.

pool mining might be a good idea.

one pool though, will that not centralize the currency.

i have a newbie question. I have become familiar with mining using windows. thanks for all the help. However, the hash on the other platform seems higher. i think it is ubuntu.

is ubuntu linux.
can ubuntu be installed and run on my current system or do i have to uninstall windows.

is there a step by step guide installing ubuntu (linux)

thank you

apply a random number of rounds 1 through 10 that go to developers. in reality, you do not need crowd funding. this will relegate you to secondary currency. you knowledge and early participation will assure your profits. while a fair launch without taxes will attract miners which will improve you success.

1217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [BMR] Merged mining in BitMonero (proposal) on: April 26, 2014, 10:33:44 PM
i posted this on bmr emmision curve thread. i apologize for double post but i am  eager to getting input

would it be better to leave this coin alone. It seems it is now Fractured.
If coin continues then so be it. Let miners cont to mine coin as is.
Honey penny for example is building on BCN. There are a a lot of individual that are very Knowledgeable. could this coin be developed to include private messaging, Proof of work, and proof of stake. Perhaps, other mechanism Duration of mining. This to encourage mining in The distant future.add colored coins ability. Just a thought. I realize this maybe stupid.
I don't see necessity to fund project. Developers wold be among Earliest adopters. If it is a great Idea than it will Succeed. If you build it the Miners will Come. And so the more users the greater the Demand-the higher the price of original coins.. Compared to those mining from the very first hour, Knowledge coupled with low difficulty they probably have more coins than I do I started Mining monero 5 days After launch and so far  have accumulated 260 coins. i am speculating but likely tft has more coins than i do and well deserved

1219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: April 25, 2014, 05:54:54 PM
My point if you had to choose, it wouled be bytecoin. However I am mining both. But reviewing threads for monero and, bytecoin you will find similar arguments. New coins are being developed for many reasons including perceived unfairness. I too had difficulty with  bitmonero at first. I mine both but lean towards bytecoin
who ever holds more bytecoin maybe relevant or irrelevant.  Depends on the nature of the substrate I would think. If treated as a commodity than yes. Else if treated as a currency perhapse not.  Bill Gates has more money than I do but he does not directly influence me. the value of my dollar is Indenpedent of his wealth. My dollar can buy more in Texas than in California and independent of bill Gates or oprah. This is because it is a currency foremost. I am not an economist or expert in Computers. Perhaps I have made clear my ignorance. I guess, my final point is that I did not imply that monero has no future or no value. Sorry if that's what came across.
1220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: April 25, 2014, 05:34:38 PM
I don't think it is fair to say bytecoin was ninja mined for 2 tyears. It was most like announced on the deep web. I don't think a third world country can say bitcoin was ninja mined just because they were not aware of it.

I feel as though despite the surface intention of cryptocurrencies to become currency everyone treats cryptocurrency as  comodity. People seem to feel left out easily because they were not part of the early adapters. Bytecoin has my vote because it is easy to mine it and obtain coins.  Now if some one could implement a master coin protocol on top of it to create colored coins it would be great. Perhaps adding it to the exchange is the wrong approach.  It becomes a commodity.
