1201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: April 26, 2022, 08:39:59 PM
To be precise, Candidates for La Liga champions this season, Real Madrid has not been appointed as Champions, because there are still a few more games to go through Real Madrid. Real Madrid performances this season under Carlo Ancelotti have been impressive, but Real Madrid's weakness is heavily dependent on Benzema. If every opponent Real Madrid faced was able to see this weakness, Real Madrid would find it difficult to score in every game. Real Madrid's luck this season because Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have been inconsistent in La Liga this season, so that Benzema and his friends are very safe at the top of the standings.
I mean do we really think that there is a chance of any other team to win the league? It's obvious that Real is the winner of this season, it has been obvious for the past like 2-3 months already. I believe Sevilla looked like they had a small chance for a while, but that was it and when Sevilla started to lose, Real became the clear option as well. All in all Real and mainly Benzema played in a way where it wasn't even a questionable dominance.

However, they have very very old team in many positions and lacking a good defender as well, they will need to get a lot of great players by the end of the year to keep this up or they will look like Barcelona in a few years.
1202  Economy / Economics / Re: How Capitalism defeated socialism? on: April 26, 2022, 02:32:59 PM
Social democracy, democratic socialism, socialism, communism. These are all different variants of "left" that many nations like USA couldn't really comprehend. Like for example public libraries that you do not pay for and just go and read and only pay if you take something out and can't bring it back on time, that is a system where the state pays for it, or the firemen that comes to your house and put out the fire, or the cops. These are all paid by the government. In another case, in many major nations, hospitals are just like police and firemen, doctors are paid by the government.

If you think cops should be paid by the government with your taxes but doctors shouldn't be, you do not really understand socialism. France doesn't just give equal pay to everyone and distribute food or something like that, it is not a communist nation, but it does have healthcare to begin with, and plenty other leftists stuff, and yet seen as not so leftist for Europe, since there are even far lefter nations.
There is a good reason for nations that have high happiness and good amount of money all end up with a mixed situation. Sure, you could have a capitalist system where a business could make billions of dollars worth profit, one of the richest man in the world is a French guy who owns clothing companies after all.

However, you also ask them to pay their fair share and get rich after that. They encourage you to make 20 billion dollars in profit, they help you do that as much as they can, they even ignore some stuff and lax regulations for it, but after you do that, they tax you heavily so that you would have to pay for it. Elon Musk says he paid a shit ton of tax, meanwhile Tesla keeps on reinvesting all their profits and do not really pay a lot, that is not how it works in Europe, that is the difference.
1203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some projects which can grow bigger in the next few years on: April 25, 2022, 08:44:51 PM
The problem is not identifying those projects, it is about having the patience to hold them for up to 5 years without feeling tempted to sell off at the very first ath that occur.
Many people sold off their bags of eth before it became a life changing investment. Same thing with btc, sol bnb and so on. So the question you should ask yourself is are you ready to hold come what may to achieve that goal without selling along the line. Near Protocol is one of such imo.
This is the key, if 10 years ago someone told you "bitcoin will go up a lot" and you believed them, you could have sold it at 1k, and you would have thought that was a lot, because it seriously was a lot. However then it would reach to 68k and shock you. Same logic goes here, even if you believe that some project may go up super high, how do you know if we are talking about just x2, or do we talk about x50?

There is no way of knowing how big it will go, and how long you should hold it. Maybe if you hold it for 1 year, you will make x2 or maybe it will also do x10 in 3 years, or maybe x50 in 5 years, who knows how long you should hold it?
1204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: April 25, 2022, 07:26:15 PM
A series of 5 matches even with a minimum odd of 1.3 will give a total win of 100*(1.3)5 =$371
If the streak breaks (City loses) then we get the $275 that we bet on Liverpool. Minus the betting costs ($200) and the net profit would be $75.
However, maybe I will make a simple bet on the City championship, because if I lose it and Liverpool are the champions, I will still be happy.
This doesn't sound like a bad idea. I had Liverpool outrights at the start of the season and I will keep that. I believe that if it happens then I am going to profit a good amount anyway, if it doesn't happen then I earned enough back from City bets that I did anyway Cheesy.

So, I did what you said but did it like all through the season. For me, it is higher odds for Liverpool, and it is a season of wagering on City with a few losses here and there but overall bigger profit to cover the bet easily and maybe some profit. So, I will win double if Liverpool wins the league, or I will not lose anything if City wins the league and just got my money back basically.
1205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 25, 2022, 05:15:33 AM
Mohamed Salah wants to stay at Liverpool but his long-term future is uncertain with no agreement reached on contract negotiations and the 29-year-old Egypt forward saying money is not the only factor. Salah is Liverpool’s best footballer and has already become a symbol of the club in a way. I believe the club will do anything to keep him on the team.
I am 100% certain that Salah will stay, but Mbappe is not staying.
I don't know why Liverpool still didn't create a new contract for him. Salah is the top score and is one player who will come to legend, If Liverpool still not yet created the negotiation, Salah maybe thinks to leave the Anfield, and Machester City is a club who have an interest in him. But, I am still not sure because of his age factor, He still thinks that he can be like another superstar football Ronaldo and Messi which I think is very excessive for him.
I do not think that there is just one issue, they would have signed him if they could. The difference is that Salah is a very vital important player on the team.

This is why I believe that we should be considering maybe Salah is the one that didn't accept yet. He is at a level where he could ask for any amount, Liverpool is basically a situation where money shouldn't be a problem because they are in the biggest league and they are either winning or being second and they keep on being high levels of UCL and even won recently as well. So, all of that combined means that we are talking about a team that has money not offering the best player the whole bag. That could be the reason.
1206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 24, 2022, 09:22:33 PM
It's sad the fact that in the Bundesliga only Bayern are focused on chasing trophies, while the other teams like you said are trying to make money from selling players. Especially Dortmund who almost every season sell their star players, even Dortmund often sell their star players to Bayern which is their rival. Actually the Bundesliga team does not only need investors from the Middle East, but several Bundesliga teams, especially Dortmund have to change their policy regarding the issue of player transfers. Dortmund have to start retaining the stars they have, even if they have to sell it, don't ever sell it to a rival team. I'm sure if the player transfer policy can be improved, Bayern will have a strong competitor. Because the Bundesliga becomes uncompetitive if only Bayern wins the trophy every season.
I have to say it's clear to me that Bayern is not the only one chasing, but they are the only one who has the finances to achieve it. When you win the league 10 times in a row, it's really not that easy to overthrow a team that has won that much and earn that much.

Bayern managed to not only win the league that many times, but they won the cup plenty of times, and also went to champions league many times and also won it as well, in 2020 they did sextuple as well. All of this equals to a lot of money and that allows them to get the best players from any team they want, they could even overpay and still get those players. Beating that is very hard.
1207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: April 24, 2022, 08:54:05 PM
The possibility of Manchester United to enter the Champions League next season is very small even I say it is impossible after they have gone through many bad weeks, now the competition for 4th place in the standings is only fighting over 2 teams between Arsenal and Tottenham.
United will definitely not be at champions league next year, no possibility at all. They will have to fix a situation until next year and then they will try to be better next year. Champions league is not something you could get in with that year's team, you get in with previous year's team.

So, you could be the greatest team this year, the best ever team, with your league, your domestic cup, champions league, every possible cup, and then you could be losing all your group matches in the champions league one year later just because you lost all your good players. This is why I have to say that there is really nothing you should be focusing on this year, care about next year as well.
1208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 24, 2022, 08:24:28 PM
Dallas Mavericks could've got a better shot if Dinwiddie made one more pass. Someone is on the side who is free and its a shooter, Dorian Finney-Smith.
Well, I guess you cannot blame it to him because of the heat of the moment. Nevertheless, they fought hard and Luka's return was successful.
All they need is put him back and synchronized the chemistry to the team. If they are that close to winning the game, what more when they are back at American Airlines Center. Their battle became more entertaining.
I wouldn't blame him because time was running out and not like he wasn't open neither. This is why I believe that it wasn't a bad decision to take that shot but they could have drawn a better play because it looked like they were in chaos mode and just passed out and that's not really acceptable for such an important shot.

The main problem however if we focus is that the game was like 99-95 by the end, and Utah scored 5 points back to back which is a big issue. If you are in playoffs, you can't just let the other team score 5 points in 30 seconds for the last plays, you gotta play a lot better, you gotta foul if you have to and still not allow them to score easily.
1209  Economy / Speculation / Re: Need more more to invest on crypto. on: April 24, 2022, 03:41:11 PM
Actually, a trading strategy can be done if an experienced trader has the ability and puts emotions aside and has patience. Indeed trading is more difficult and has more pitfalls to watch out for. But it will put you on the right track to making profits where you will condition yourself to do what ultimately needs to be done, namely buy and sell at the right time to realize the profit.
Can it be done? Sure, why not. However, you need to be careful because there is no single strategy that can work in every market. It changes from the amount, to the movements of the market, to the general hype, to which coin, to which type of coin, everything matters. This is why it is not easy to make a profit, you need to make sure that you are ready for everything.

Obviously, it is not going to be impossible neither, you could have like 5-10 different strategies, if you are a veteran, it wouldn't be difficult to build something like that and this means you could use whichever strategy you think works best for that specific period and situation and make money.
1210  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for April on: April 24, 2022, 03:03:58 PM
I don't know about you all but I for sure am expecting another downside direction in the short term before going for another retest on the 44k-45k area. This isn't a financial advice or anything of the sort and isn't something that anyone out there can also tell for sure so trade at your own risk. Anyway, having said these I have already opened a long position on leverage at 37,700-37,800k if it gets picked up good and if not, then still okay. There can be good scalps within the shorter timeframes anyway, so for my big trade I am going to be patient and wait.
Not at all, if we are going to based that we are indeed in a bear market then we should expect the price to go down to lows of $30k. We've seen that already in February if I'm not mistaken and there is a possibility that we can even further dip. I don't do trades right now though, but yeah there are a lot of opportunity still in the market to squeeze some profits at the side as long as you have the skills and the patience.
I agree that we are not really in a "bear" market, yes we are not doing well but we are not doing badly enough to call it a bear market just right now. We are doing just decently and that should be good enough for people to assume it won't get any worse, like we could go up right now and nobody would be surprised.

This is what separates a bear market from a regular market, if you are in a bear market then things are all going down and everyone is pessimistic and there are even people who think it will crash to zero, which it never does but they still exist for some reason. So, I believe that as long as we are not around 30k, we should be considering just regular market movements.

I am 100% certain that Salah will stay, but Mbappe is not staying. I do not know where you got that 50 million euro number but the reported numbers are way way higher than that, like totaling nearly 90 million dollars with the bonuses, so it's seriously a higher number that is still not even discussed by mbappe.

He wants to leave to Real and he will do that, sure there could be technical details that need to be fixed before he could make that move, but he will be able to do it for sure. He is a great player and he doesn't need one team to pay him, he could get all teams to pay him, ask for 50 million euro from any team in the world and they would all pay him that much, he would profit them with just jersey sales anyway.
1212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin really on it's death bed? on: April 23, 2022, 09:53:46 PM
Obviously almost no one in here really thinks that bitcoin is dying just because it's price goes down a few percent or maybe even more withing a relatively short amount of time. People that are in the crypto space for a while will know that this has happened dozens of times before and each and every time bitcoin has recovered from that and most of the time even was stronger afterwards in the long run. That being said, of course no one can know if we reach another Bitcoin ATH anytime soon, if ever. I personally think that other projects have just way more usability and scalability than Bitcoin has. Of course Bitcoin is still the king for a lot of crypto enthusiasts as it was the project that started all.
I wouldn't be so sure about it. There are some people who are here just to bash crypto, no idea why they are here or if any of them are real, some of them are clear trolls but some of them do look like they really hate crypto. At the end of the day we are talking about a situation where there can't be just 100% of us believing it going up.

This is why I believe that we are going to end up with some people hating it and that is why we are going to see some people saying bitcoin will go down. If you hate something, you do not want it to be doing good, you will always want it to go down and crash, maybe you will be right? Who knows? I do believe that we will always go up though, even though there will be downs at times, in the end it will always go up.
1213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: April 23, 2022, 09:34:26 PM
Nobody can deny that this is Xavi's new Barcelona. There have been only two losses in their last 18 games. We recently humiliated Madrid, and I'm still in a winning mood from the El Clasico victory. Since the Barca men are suffering, but does this will last for a long time? Of course not. They have a bloodline of dominance and will certainly be even better next season, as well as targeting some trophies.
I quite appreciate Xavi in managing Barca this season, although Barca has not been able to dominate La Liga and UCL, but next season will be interesting because Xavi will definitely try to chase all the trophies. although currently barca and sevilla are competing for the second position of la league until the end of the season but I am sure it will be barca who will stop in position 2.
He certainly brought in something that we didn't expect, a system. That was what Barcelona was missing, these are players who knwo what tyep of football barcelona plays, even if they haven't played there before, they know how they play and their system from either watching them, or playing against them, or just basically the general concept. Koeman had his own system I am not going to lie, but that was a very wild, unsuccessful and chaotic system that didn't work.

What Xavi has is the same one that Cruyff had all those years ago, and what pep had as well and what is kids learn in la masia. So, it is certainly very important to go back to basics and we have seen how great it worked.
1214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: April 23, 2022, 09:03:07 PM
Actually, all possibilities are possible, Strasbourg has lost a lot of points lately, but Lille is playing poorly as well. Monaco, on the other hand, is a very fit team and can progress without losing points.
It has been determined which of the first 2 teams in the league will be, but we are watching a great race as which team will be the third Smiley

Which team do you think will finish third at the end of the Ligue 1 season? I think the strongest candidate for third place in the Ligue 1 standings is AS Monaco, because their next match will be quite easy, this week they face Etienne, but after that they will face Angers, Brest and Lens. Only Lille may come in their way in Week 36 of Ligue 1. Meanwhile, Rennes and Strasbourg still have quite difficult matches, such as Rennes who will still meet Marseille and Strasbourg who will still meet PSG.
Monaco has been on a big winning streak and I believe when teams are like that, the loss is imminent and coming soon. I said the same thing about Barcelona when they were going unbeaten for so long, and that resulted with them losing to both frankfurt and cadiz back to back.

I believe same will happen to monaco, they have been amazing so far but they are going to end up losing eventually. Whereas strasborg and rennes ended up playing in a way that they are doing fine and they will probably win again, they had losses already so it shouldn't really be shocking that they could end up with some wins all over again. This is why I feel like strasborg has the bigger chance, then followed by rennes then 5th would be monaco.
1215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is it bad to leave crypto on exchanges? on: April 22, 2022, 09:18:04 PM
I have most of mine on an exchange because I'm getting paid interest. Has there ever been a time when an exchange like Binance for example, steals your funds or gets hacked and people lost money?
reason why warning moved of not leaving your funds on exchanges is because of security reasons of the exchange. Because exchanges has their own coder's and programmers why computers wizards who specializes for decoding is interested of hacking any exchange that's gathered by funds. And i believe that this exchanges have competitor and it is possible to another to hack for getting more customers. I don't keep my coins in exchange because it can be hacked and the can not refund you. It is better Saving funds wallet like ELETRUM
You are on the right track but looking at the wrong places. If you are worried that a super wizard type of hacker could get into a secure exchange and steal your money, how do you feel about them hacking into your own computer? I mean doesn't that look easier?

If you think that some computer guy could hack into Binance for example which is as nearly impossible to hack as it gets and yet still could be hacked, then how do you believe that they can't hack into your computer. This means that you believe Binance is a bigger target for hackers and they wouldn't be worried about hacking into you, that's all you think, not that your own PC is safer, you just feel like they won't bother with you.
1216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we entering the era of CBDCs? on: April 22, 2022, 08:38:05 PM
I think that all this will happen very quickly, everything will coincide with a big crisis, the fall of all markets and CBDC will come to replace fiat money. For governments/banks, this will be very convenient, because they will be able to control absolutely all financial transactions, each person. I do not like this model at all, because I love cash and I make almost all my payments in cash. So yes I think we will see a world with CBDC, and total control.
I am not 100% sure that we could go digital that much right away. There are still some people who use paper money let alone their cards and certainly not use digital transactions to wire each other money. If there are people who fail to do that, then how could we expect them to start using CBDC?

Maybe in the distant future when we are all old, and our families are no longer with us, that could happen, I mean when the X generation is the 70+ years old generation, then we could consider something like that but we have decades for that. This is why I think that CBDC taking over the system we have right now is not something that could happen anytime soon.
1217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: April 22, 2022, 07:04:15 PM
Manchester United's coach says Cristiano Ronaldo will play against Arsenal on Saturday. Manchester United must find a way to beat Arsenal no matter what. Coach and fans will be relieved when Ronaldo returns following the next match. Clearly, Arsenal have serious problems on their hands. I believe Arsenal will defeat Manchester United, regardless of whether Ronaldo scores as he did against Norwich.
I do not know, even if they somehow manage to beat this game, they are still one game ahead so it shouldn't really be that easy to go over them. Secondly, we are talking about reaching 5th place only, it is not like they are going to UCL, they needed to be at fourth place to go to UCL and that would have allowed them to actually do something next season.

We all know they already arranged the manager transfer, and they will probably do some off-season moves, all of that for europa? I mean by that level, you could go to conference as well, because you would be basically overpowering everyone anyway and maybe lose only because of some bad game. UCL is not like that, there would be teams better than them which would give them a chance to prove themselves.
1218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: April 21, 2022, 08:11:35 PM
I would like to know what Roma has succeeded in. It also lost points and lost the chance to get closer to Juventus. Now, if we do not take the battle for the championship, we are waiting for the sad end of the championship where all the participants in the Champions League and the Europa League are determined. By the way, it's quite funny that Atalanta, which at first had an "iron" place in the top 4, now has no chance even for a ticket to the Europa League.
They played against Napoli though. This isn't some game that anyone expected them to win, this is a game where people expected them to lose, Napoli needed the win so that they could be chasing the championship which was already hard before the game, looks even more difficult after they failed to win.

Roma getting a tie is not a bad result for them, sure they may have hard time catching up to Juventus, but at the very least they got a point from a game everyone expected them to lose. Juventus will play easier teams for sure, so I can't say this will change, probably will finish as it is currently with just Inter going above thanks to that extra game.
1219  Economy / Economics / Re: Sri Lanka defaults on its $51 billion external debt on: April 21, 2022, 12:06:33 PM
This is only going to get worse for Sri Lankans. They are in need of food imports and after the government defaulted on loans, who would lend them money now? They'd quickly run out of money buying food and then what happens when that remaining money is gone too? They all gonna starve without aid.

I would say let the people rise up and depose their corrupt leaders and then help restructure after. Just blindly pumping it with aid would only result in the same experience as in Africa where no matter how much aid is sent, nothing really changes since the politicians that are the problem remain in power.
Donations and charity seems to be their best hope. They need to get hold of some celebrities who would be willing to do like concerts for them at this level, that is just an example but at the end of the day we are talking about a situation where all around the world people would need to give them enough money to help them survive.

Do you know what is the scariest and worst part? I am so sick and tired of politicians that I have zero idea about their politicians, no idea who their president is, never even wondered about it, and yet I still worry that if we could raise 50+ million dollars for example, all of that would go to helping people out, I fear some of it could be pocketed by some shady politicians. If you can avoid that, they can get better.
1220  Economy / Economics / Re: Where should I invest? on: April 21, 2022, 11:48:03 AM
Given that you are new in this field, you can start off buying bitcoin first and other top coins in the market which are considered to be profitable even if time passes by. If you wanted to be sure, invest in bitcoin first and then later on, when you already have the skills and knowledge needed, start diversifying with other coins in the market that has a good background project.

Bitcoin is still profitable. You can keep some for the long term and you can try to risk it in futures as well if you are into risk taking and of course, already possesses the qualities needed to trade. You will get the process as you do it on your own. Be sure to educate yourself before making any move because you could lose and regret it big time. Make strategies and calculated decisions when it comes to crypto. You can follow several professionals tips and maybe enroll in some paid classes to know and learn more.
This is what I did as well, to be fair when I joined there were like maybe 5 coins, and Bitcoin was the biggest so entering with bitcoin wasn't a difficult decision but eventually with time, I didn't join to every new thing neither. I never invest into something that is younger than one years old, I have done it before and saw the consequences.

Maybe this means that I will not be getting rich overnight, maybe I wouldn't be surprisingly rich, but at the end of the day we are talking about long term and less risky method here. Buying bitcoin means you will be in the crypto world, then you can take your time to see what else you want to invest into.
