1201  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Newbies avoid plagiarism. on: September 24, 2023, 03:35:42 AM
It is obvious that plagiarism is the fastest way to getting banned in this forum. It is actually a huge offence that discourages ingenuity and originality.

I don't know why people make that mistake of not giving credit to source of any content they share idea, it does not really reduce us but rather mean we appreciate the works of others. When I want to make a statement that is not my original idea, I do use statements such: "as it has been stated by". In this case, they will know it's not your idea but you are merely referencing... just for emphasis.

I just hope others can learn to avoid getting banned.

Hello Royse, I've just noticed that the bitcoin address for my week 46 and week 47 were wrong on the spreadsheet.
My Bitcoin address which is the right one as seen on the week 45 is:  bc1q5r62edxscmetffagyzt3756ty89028luv8yguj

While on week 46 and week 47 it has become: bc1ql0awexssl0flt5quxdcpga4n8w2c6pje0g4wxg
The owner of this address is odohu so the payment for my week 46 was sent to him. Hopefully, he'll send it to me once it's confirmed.

Apologies for the bother and mess if I've just noticed this suddenly after my promotion from full member to senior member payroll. Thanks.
It's great that you reached out to me. I sent him a PM, and I'm confident he will take care of it. You will receive the funds, minus transaction fees, to your address. If you haven't received them after 1 to 2 days, please let me know, and I will double-check.

Cheers,
I have returned the funds and the transaction fees was on me to make things easier for all of us... here is the Tx hash:

1203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling game is not good and everyone should stay away from it on: September 23, 2023, 09:47:49 PM
Everyone stay away from gambling game then you all will be happy and happy Gambling game is very bad which will harm your family a lot and will also harm your life like my father gambling ruined my father's life and also my future is dark now I am now  I came back to this bitcoin to find light in my life in this darkness you all help me shine.

Gambling is not for everyone as it was never designed for all. If you must know, many things in life are gambling... going to the university is gambling because there is no guaranty that you will get a job and become rich after graduation. Buying stocks, cryptocurrency and even real estate all fall into gambling because there is no guaranty that you will make profits. So, I suggest you seek understanding of what gambling should be and should not be before drawing your conclusion.

While you feel gambling is not good, a lot of people are actually making a living off it. I have known a couple of successful gamblers. If you feel what we know here as gambling is not for you, then seek other ways of making money.

To me, I think people should fix their psychology before venturing into gambling. This way, we will see less of posts like this. Meanwhile, "no risk, no reward"
1204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is The Father After All on: September 23, 2023, 08:47:20 PM
where price of Bitcoin will definitely hit a higher price due to scarcity.
Not because of scarcity (since bitcoin supply is always increasing) but because of less new-sell-pressure as miners will have less income and they will be able to sell less freshly mined coins in the market.

Quote
You must be wondering why none Bitcoin holders are also looking forward to that same year,... Well it's because of how effective Bitcoin price will be to the crypto market entirely.
Bitcoin price rise actually leads to altcoin dumps but what altcoin trades hope for is that as bitcoin starts rallying it will attract a lot of capital, some part of that capital can also go into the altcoin market and help pump some of the shitcoins they are bag holding.
I'm having a strong feeling that the next bull market will not see significant surge in price for altcoins. I can be wrong but check Bitcoin dominance to see that it has been on the rise since last year. Perhaps, many people are coming to terms with the fact that Bitcoin is the future. So I agree with you that Bitcoin price rise leads to altcoins dump.
1205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greed can cause a lost bet, (true or false) on: September 23, 2023, 06:38:35 PM
If a person is in debt shouldn't he prioritize paying for his debt before gambling?  Many players get into huge problems because they don't know which to prioritize.  They tried to win money to pay their debt but it often made them lose putting pressure on their situation.  This is more likely being irresponsible and not greedy.
It is very risky borrowing money for gambling; the chances of taking irrational decision, when playing with borrowed funds, is high. When your mind is not relaxed, how will you win? It even become very easy making mistakes in such a situation.

From personal experience, I tend to win more when I am not desperately in need of money. I don't know why it is like that but anytime I plan with the money I'm yet to win from gambling, I hardly win. Like I always maintained, gambling is more of psychology than skill.

Paying our debts should be prioritized, but a great deal of people out there are looking for fast solutions to their problems, not understanding that if it took them many years to accumulate their current debts then it should take them a long time as well to get out of them.

So gambling for those people is a form of escapism, as they do not want to face the reality they created for themselves and they want to fix it by believing things will somehow turn alright if they just get lucky and get huge wins at the casino.
The truth is that hope is an important ingredient of life. Having hope is very important but it is not good to hope on something that is already doomed to fail like gambling with money that is not yours. Even when there is no data to substantiate this, I think the chances of success with borrowed funds is less than 20%.

If you are not able to sort out needs, don't bother gambling!
1206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting significant amount on: September 23, 2023, 02:19:48 PM
I'm always betting significant amount when I'm in the losing streak, Let's say only 30% left from my original bankroll after playing 1hr to 4hrs of non-stop Blackjack.

I always bet all-in which is my remaining bankroll that is significant amount for me on a 25% win chance rate bet on dice game. My heart palpitates during this bet and I really love the intense feeling. Most of the time I lose on this but it's really worth it if I win since I recover my original bankroll plus sweet profit of 20% of my bankroll.

I'm always doing this whenever I'm down after long gambling session just to finish with a big bang of surprise. When I lose at least I experience the thrill same with win since I have profit.

Are you doing this intense gambling experience by betting significant amount of your bankroll? This is insane but worth it if you are a thrill seeker for entertainment.
I guess we are totally different in this. I do not have the heart to go all in with a 25% chance of winning... that is indeed real gambling!. I am a very conservative player, so I risk as low as 2% of my capital per day.

I pay more attention to my gambling habits than the winning because I believe that a bad gambling habit will bring more pain than loses and with a good gambling habit, it becomes easier recovering from draw-down.

All the same, if this works for you and you are having fun in it, then enjoy the flow.
1207  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN HALVING COUNTDOWN IS ON – WILL CRYPTO PRICES RISE? on: September 23, 2023, 02:09:12 PM
It would be an anomaly if the price of bitcoin doesn't rise even before and after the halving. It would be the first time it would ever happen, but then this is not going to happen because history always repeats itself. The first bitcoin halving event was on November 28, 2012, bitcoin price rose up to $12.3. In the second bitcoin halving on July 9, 2016, the price increased to $680 and in the third halving on May 11, 2020 bitcoin's price increased to $8,590. You can see that historical evidences. Since that time the interest of the public and institutions in bitcoin has grown. Therefore, we will see a gradual increase in the price of Bitcoin before, during and after the halving in 2024.

* www.bitcoinsensus.com/bitcoin-halving-countdown/
* coinpedia.org/beginners-guide/what-is-bitcoin-halving/

Good analysis from someone conversant with the historic data of Bitcoin. Indeed, Bitcoin have shown great consistency in growth every halving season and I don't envisage any difference in the coming one. Another thing is that we usually have a new ATH the year after halving, this is the reason many people are of the opinion that 2025 might be the year for the huge price surge following the prevailing market cycle. So, the halving will set the stage for the massive price rise that is expected to happen the following year.

Furthermore, putting your analysis in percentages shows that Bitcoin rose as much as 5428% from 2012 to 2016 and 1163% from 2016 to 2020 whereas we had the  If we go in this direction, then I expect price to peak around $120k which is around 200% from the ATH.

Nevertheless, like I always advice people, it is better to keep an open mind as nothing is guaranteed in life.

Hello @Royse777,

I just ran a check on my wallet and noticed the transaction is still pending. Upon confirmation, I will send back what is not supposed to be mine to the address you dropped in PM. I guess F2pool and Paxos scenario just happened Smiley Smiley Smiley
1209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel when you look at your first Bitcoin wallet? on: September 23, 2023, 05:39:10 AM
~
Just recently, I was tempted to check my first ever Bitcoin wallet to see what I have done in the past. I was so depressed seeing the volume of Bitcoin that have passed through my wallet without me saving a reasonable portion of it.
The majority of the old time users here will have the same feeling if you go back and check your wallet history or the amount of BTCitcoin volume you spent in gambling sites or by looking at the amount of coins you send as tips and there is no point in regrets as i made huge profits in the cryptocurrency market in each and every rally in this space.
You are actually very correct, as can be seen from the various comments. However, I noticed a lot of the OGs knew Bitcoin will be something worthwhile in the future, hence, they bought and held from those early stages to date. How they got the foresight, courage and patience to persevere amidst the fud is what baffles me.

1210  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Fuel stations altering pump to face sanction — FG on: September 23, 2023, 03:34:46 AM
But the thing dey pain me o, you buy fuel N605 per litre yet na around 75cl them go give you as one litre. untop of this, them still dey claim say them dey pay subsidy wey no exist anywhere.

Our government na clear example of wetin them call "toothless bulldog", them no go still do anything. I never see country where the government agencies are as dead as Nigeria. We have DPR wey never seal any filling station unless them wan collect money no be say them wan change anything. We get NAFDAC yet fake drugs full the country. We get NEPA wey dey collect light bill when them no bring light. The list long. So I call this one another bobo juice.

1211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hate speech and it impacts on bitcoin on: September 23, 2023, 03:13:50 AM
Those who support (pro) bitcoin and those who are against bitcoin always have a clash in speech. Those who hate bitcoin see bitcoin as a scam and other crime scheme. So with their view on it they see bitcoin users as scapegoat, criminals and money laundering and some special advisers in the government see bitcoin from this perspective so they advised the government to ban bitcoin in their country. And this cause a social trauma between these two groups.
I have come to understand that it is in the nature of some people to criticise what they don't understand or control. This weakness is what is fueling some unnecessary arguments against Bitcoin. Some supposed experts will stop at nothing to discourage people from using Bitcoin. Similarly, you don't expect governments of the world to give up on their control of the global financial system so easily, they will do everything possible to discourage people from using Bitcoin, that takes away their power and influence.

Upon all these bitcoin is still gaining ground in the ecosystem. Therefore, hate speech cannot do anything to bitcoin again.
Bitcoin will always win and it will surprise you to know that some of those critics of Bitcoin are actually hodlers. There was a time our government banned Bitcoin by directing all the banks to close accounts of those transacting in Bitcoin. It was later revealed that some of the government officials including the minister for justice was an active Bitcoiner Smiley
1212  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful with your transactions. on: September 22, 2023, 04:24:26 PM
Recently we heard how paxos over paid $500,000 transaction fee to move $2000BTC due to bug.https://cointelegraph.com/news/paxos-confirms-responsible-for-500k-mistaken-bitcoin-transaction.
Which F2pool has accepted that it was there pool, but I don't think that F2pool will refund back all the funds, because such transactions rely on the goodwill of the miner to refund or not.
Even though the transaction you referenced is controversial with many saying it was deliberate just to create headlines, I think the entire thing is positive for the Bitcoin community as it shows solidarity and unity among Bitcoiners. Nevertheless, we can never dispel the importance of being extremely careful when carrying out transactions because it is not everyone that can be as generous and considerate as F2pool to refund such huge amount of money. Some will just take it as "miracle money" and a prayer answered  Smiley Smiley Smiley.

Usually the long posts are for instructional materials and guides. For those stories that are quite long, they can summarize it and avoid those details that are not needed anymore.

In as much as I want to agree with what you have said, I just want to add this, the forum is made up of  different individuals with different sense of reasoning, understanding, expression and writing knowledge. The way you can express yourself may not be the way some One else expresses himself likewise in terms of summarizing some stores in a comprehensive manner so I think people should be allowed to write as long as they can hense their stories doesn't go off point to what they are writing. You can decide to respond to the story by quoting the particular paragraph you wish to respond to no matter how long the storylines are but to be honest making stories to be simple and comprehend will help both the reader and the writer to arrive at a conclusion easily.
I think he is forgetting that the content of a post is what determine the length. You cannot be explaining a procedure and expect it to just be few lines... it has to start with an introduction, the main details and any advise or suggestion you can add including limitations. All these cannot just fit into few lines.

For sure, there are people that beat about the bush tying to explain simple things; this can be boring but not all long posts are really boring. Furthermore, I understand that there are people that do not just like post that are lengthy irrespective of the information being conveyed.... but then, we are unique and so are our preferences.
1214  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Gold I no, fiat I no but I'm proud of Bitcoin. on: September 21, 2023, 07:25:30 PM
Gold is very good, I have tested gold investment some years ago but it doesn't Favour me the way I want it
The Gold market is very huge especially in Sub Saharan Africa and I also know that buying physical Gold will be too expensive unless you have connection with some guys from Zamfara State where Gold is mined illegally. So tell me, how did you buy the Gold? You bought as a stock or in ordinary forex brokerage?

that made me to apply another alternative to try BTC
Bitcoin is surely the future as the opportunity is offers is unmatched. Besides, the process of buying and securing Bitcoin is easy and convenient and you can even do it anonymously from the comfort of your home.
1215  Economy / Economics / Re: If They Can Pay off their Debts, Why Don't They? on: September 21, 2023, 06:37:27 PM
Below is a list of 10 Countries With the Biggest Debt Burdens1

1. Japan $10.1 trillion
2. Greece $415.35 billion
3. Italy $2.94 trillion
4. United States $36.8 trillion
5. Spain $1.74 trillion
6. France $3.478 trillion
7. Portugal $305.45 billion
8. Canada $2.52 trillion
9. Brazil
10. Belgium $640.3 billion
If almost all the big countries of the world are indebted, then who are the creditors and how does the creditor make the money they borrowed to the countries? Naturally, being indebted is a very depressing situation to be but seeing that countries willingly choose to be indebted, as it is looking like, makes me wonder what the motivations are.

It is known that external debt also affect the strength of the currency, could it be that the reason some exporting countries, like Japan, keep this debts is a way of keeping their currency low?

1216  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Journey of a newbie. on: September 21, 2023, 11:59:40 AM
I have always been confused about crypto currencies and how they work... how they are stabilised and regulated but with the present plight and constant devaluation of my country's currency, it's safe to say I need to learn, practice and own a safer landing, the banking systems are not helping with constant maintenance levies and network issues. I'm aware that there is no perfect place but anywhere with a more better solution is more preferable. Cheers to the beginning of a new journey.
The first question that comes to mind is: are you here to learn about Bitcoin so you will be able to making money through it? If yes, do you plan to buy and hold it for a profit or you have figured out other ways of making money from Bitcoin? If your plan is to learn to be able to buy, I will suggest you learn about the DCA method of accumulating Bitcoin
In conclusion, If you have the answers to these key questions, then your stay in this forum will be fruitful and you will cherish your the abundant information avialbel here free of charge. So, define your priorities well and have a plan on how to go about it.
1217  Economy / Speculation / Re: A Simple Reason Why Bitcoin and Crypto Prices Must Fall to Zero on: September 21, 2023, 11:40:35 AM
Well this is nothing but fud! Even though you are entitled to your opinion, I think this very opinion is not needed here. There is no point trying to discouraging us from buying Bitcoin as you are not the first to hold this kind of opinion; in the end, Bitcoin will always prove you all wrong.

All bubbles eventually but inevitably pop. Then, massive sell-offs cause prices to decline, often quite dramatically. The real demand is what stops prices from further decline. With crypto lacking such demand, there is nothing to stop the decline, and prices inevitably must fall to zero.
It is obvious you really have not taken time to study the technology behind Bitcoin and the role Bitcoin is/has been playing in the global financial system. Without Bitcoin, it was a huge challenge sending money across borders in my country and I know a lot of people in various jurisdiction also face similar challenge. This is of of the real utility that Bitcoin offers and that is enough to create the demand. Good a thing, many gambling, subscription and other platforms are integrating Bitcoin payment and that is demand. If you think Bitcoin do not have demand, then you have not been paying attention.  If the price will want to crash, let it crash on my head!
1218  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: No matter the pressure don't release on: September 20, 2023, 07:02:40 PM
Before executing a trade in any p2p platform, there are several notice and warnings including videos and disclaimers on how to use the services. Part of the core message is usually to ensure funds are received before crypto is released. Anything contrary to this sequence,  there is really little the exchange can do to help as it will be difficult to prove funds were not received.

Following instructions and being cautious is the sure way to survive in the digital world because where there is ease and comfortable is where risk creeps in.
1219  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it possible to theorically profit from welcome bonus? Example with stake.com on: September 20, 2023, 04:38:28 PM
I have registered in several gambling platforms and have receievd welcome bonus in most of them but I have not really made withdrawable profits with any of them. Part of the reason, as I have come to understand,  is recklessness as I rarely make conscious effort to follow my rules. Maybe since the money is free, it becomes less of a burden if it is lost.

On the other hand, when I fund with my capital, I follow my rules religiously and many times I do win and make withdrawals.
1220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: September 20, 2023, 03:08:38 PM
I wanted to convey my message here that gambling in front of our kids may put adverse effects on their growing minds and they may also take the wrong path and start gambling (either by asking you personally for funds or by stealing it in order to fulfill their gambling cravings).
I totally agree with you that gambling in front of our kids could affect them negatively. Even gambling companies have age limits for their customers, this means they understand the negative effect of gambling on children.

It is no longer news that gambling requires a great deal of psychological preparedness which children at certain stage are not expected to have gotten. From experience, kids from loosed families that are exposed to gambling at very tender age grow up to become thieves and this paint a very bad image for gambling in general. So, as much as it is possible, we should protect our kids by ensuring they are not exposed to things they are not matured to handle.
