1201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: VanEck, GrayScale, Fidelity and others Now on Google Ads. on: February 07, 2024, 10:38:37 AM
Bitcoin ETF approval has been a very big boost for the awareness and trust of Bitcoin, by many people who where before now very skeptical about it, so we're looking at a gradual increase in the adoption rate of ETF perticipants and investment from now on. I'm happy that Google, is now running crypto adds because of these ETF gladiators, and it's a good one for the image of Bitcoin, to the world, hopefully if Ethereum, ETF, is approved too, then we're going to see more of crypto related adverts on Google.
1202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your favourite Alt-Coin, and why? on: February 07, 2024, 07:24:49 AM
My favorite altcoin, is non other than Ethereum, the reason is not far fetched, it's because in the trust rating of cryptocurrency, after Bitcoin, it's the next most reputable crypto coin in the market. It might not be the most profitable in terms of ROI, but for the fact that it has proven it's reputation and trust over the years as a coin that has the potentials to continue to remain relevant in the market as the years goes by, I'll always trust it to invest my money in. Because of the many scam projects in cryptocurrency, I prefer to go for trusted projects than hyped projects.

1205  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Tips to Avoid Scams on Cryptocurrency p2p Exchanges on: February 06, 2024, 05:50:02 PM
Crypto scams and hacks de increase everyday and na so scammers de improve dem crafts everyday on ways to de scam people, so for any crypto transactions for exchanges or any social media platforms e de very important say make we no trust anybody or begin de do familiarity with person wey we meet dia. Infact no to see anybody wey you de do transaction with for online as a potential scammer, dat perception go help to keep you on guard not to trust anybody for business matter. A very important matter wey di OP raise be say make we no live di business of di crypto transaction go de discuss anoda matter, because na so scammers go deviate from di p2p matter come de introduce you to one project wey you go put small money and begin get plenty ROI within a very short time, in di end you investment r money go burn.
1206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XMR Zcash and other private coins are getting delisted from binance on: February 06, 2024, 05:09:36 PM
This just means that Cex will cooperate with authorities and dont want to be associated with privacy coins either due to regulations. Well thats how it goes. Its not like its the end of the world for monero and other privacy coins. There are other people who love their tech and will continue to use that anyway.

I dont hold any privacy coins but this is a grave news as it can be seen on the downfall of the price right away.

Of all the top exchanges, Binance, should understand more about what it means to cooperate with authorities regarding regulation matters, I'm sure that after the issues that their former CEO, CZ, had in the US, they'll be more than willing to comply with regulations. So if Binance is doing away with privacy coins like Monero, then they have a good reason to do so, being a centralized exchange, they'll want to comply with authorities and get investors KYC. This is not the end of Monero, and the likes, because they're still relevant in the crypto space without Binance.
1207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paid the birth fee using bitcoin at the clinic, by accident. on: February 06, 2024, 03:51:38 PM
Bitcoin is a good alternative to make payments with any day, the adoption is growing everyday and more people have crypto wallets now, so it's a good thing to sometimes use Bitcoin, for payments, not to only hodle it for investment or trading purposes, afterall Satoshi Nakamoto, created the crypto coin mainly for p2p purposes. I'm happy for the OP, guess he's boy is warming up for second birthday this year, I'm also happy that Bitcoin, came in handy to pay hospital bill. Hopefully one day more countries will adopt Bitcoin, as their legal tender, then Bitcoin will be truly used more freely by more people.
1208  Economy / Economics / Re: A course worth studying ? on: February 06, 2024, 02:53:34 PM
Economics is a good course to study, it focuses on abundance and scarcity or demand and supply, also human wants are insatiable and the means to satisfy them are always limited, so it's a study to make priority choices, among the available resources. I'd advise anybody that wants to study economics to go for it, even crypto trading and investment, works with economics concepts, that is why you see charts and curves in crypto analysis just like in economics studies. It's a study of calculating predictions, hypothesis and probabilities of events occuring.
1209  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2 years old kids alone at home for hours, while the father goes gambling on: February 06, 2024, 11:52:14 AM
Leaving children of 2 years on their own to go gambling is very wrong and it shows that the father is irresponsible, imagine if something bad had happened to these twins, that are still vulnerable, how could he have lived with the regret for the rest of his life. I think that he should be fined heavily, so he'll also know that it's like to feel vulnerable to the law, and when child support is always checking up on him to monitor his parental capabilities, he'll understand that it's important to be responsible, and he'll learn to put his family's safety first before gambling. Addiction is dangerous, whether it's in gambling, drugs, alcohol or any other activities that can make us not to heed to common reasonings.
1210  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading on your own vs social trading and copy trading on: February 06, 2024, 10:53:45 AM
I think that by trading on my own I am just overtrading...I am looking for options to get trading ideas/trading signals etc to analyze those ideas and select only the best ones.
What options does one have to view trading ideas/signals from other professional traders?

You can't say that you are overtrading because if you are a responsible trader, you will know how to limit your trading and limit your losses as well. But let's say if you are just starting to trade, then it's always best to learn from your own trades. Do not be afraid to commit mistakes and losses because that will be your great motivation to improve your trades and become professional and profitable traders in the future. Furthermore, know that trading signals can never be reliable the whole time. They might work at some point but you will know your trades will work better if you rely on your own knowledge and skills as a trader.

Experience is the best teacher, if you don't work it out by yourself and continue to rely on others to guide you in your trading, then you'll never build personal confidence, the important thing is to get the knowledge of fundamental and technical analysis first. Make your mistakes and learn from it, but always remember, especially for newbies to trade amount that you can afford to loose, in order to minimize loses. It's said that we should learn from other people's mistakes, but crypto trading is perculiar because despite your knowledge about trading, loses will still happen, so learn what you can from others and build your own trading parten
1211  Other / Politics & Society / Re: World Cancer Day on: February 06, 2024, 09:27:18 AM
Cancer awareness is very important and I'm happy that a day in year is set aside to dwell on the dangers of this disease, I really hope that people all over the world will use the cancer day to reflect on the importance of adhering to these preventive measures that the OP has pointed out, also to create the awareness of having checkups for early detection, because if it is detected earlier, then it can be treated and the person can still be alive. I know a couple of women that have died from breast cancer complications because theirs were not detected early enough.
1212  Other / Meta / Re: Delete account on: February 06, 2024, 07:18:38 AM
You don't need to delete your account but if you want to abandon your account then you can change the password randomly so that you cannot access the account anymore. That way, it is almost the same as deleting your account without deleting it. Anyway, if you don't mind me asking why do you want to delete your account. Some account that isn't low rank but a high rank want to delete their account and what they do is change the password in anything or very random.

I think that randomly changing the account passwords and abandoning it as you said can be as good as deleting it, so even if it's because the password has been compromised, changing the password will make it impossible for another person to access it. If the OP has shared the reason for wanting to delete the account, perhaps he should have gotten help if the reason is not a tangible one, but we have to respect his privacy.
1213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FTX to refund customers at Bitcoin's prices below $18,000 on: February 06, 2024, 06:48:25 AM

What are your thoughts about this one? For sure those who lost money in the FTX collapse will have to find console in getting some from FTX itself. But I don't think this is fair to their customers if they will be calculated on Value of Bitcoin in November 2022, just saying.

It should be in full and should be based on the numbers of Bitcoin they have in this exchange, in my opinion.

A restoration of hope for people that have their Bitcoin stuck in FXT, although they're not getting the current market worth of their assets, it's still better than getting nothing, I hope that they speed up the process of payment so that the people concerned can move on. This should be a lesson to those that still leave their coins in exchanges.

I think that the $18k is not fair compared to what Bitcoin price is today, so I'm wondering what if reverse is the case and let's say Bitcoin was $40k then, and now it's $18k, will they still go ahead with their payment plan? They probably won't quote wherever it's said that they're mandated to pay at the rate when they were hacked.
1214  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Crypto P2P market the cause of BDC operation closedown in FCT on: February 05, 2024, 06:07:54 PM
BDC operators dey use physical U.S. dollars for their trade, whilst the crypto p2p market na online trading, were traders dey make use of cryptocurrencies. As things be now, even if there was no p2p crypto market in Naija, U.S. dollars go still dey scarce and e go still affect BDC operators, the reason na because of bad government policies, lack of exportation and insecurity that is restricting the influx of foreign investors/businesses and also thwarting the progress of local businesses.

BDC operators just dey vex say business no good for them, so they gats find something to complain about, their claims are very baseless and i am pretty sure they know where the problem stems from.

Den na CBN ban banks to facilitate crypto transactions, dat one settle, now na BDC operators de say na crypto p2p be di cause of dem problem, di matter really tire me for di country, anyway just like every reasonable person don analysis, dollar na fiat currency and crypto na digital currency, dem two no get any competition. Forex trading de im own while crypto trading de im own, so make dem find another reason for di scarcity of dollars for di country and leave digital currency alone. Crypto p2p no be di problem of Nigeria, parts of our problems wey de cause naira devalue and dollar scarcity na im you don mention so for your post.
1215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A good time to buy Aptos on: February 05, 2024, 05:01:55 PM
I already Listed aptos to my analysis list for investment but haven't bought yet. Maye good to buy in end of February or March where it'll dump probably for halving effect. Aptos seems good Investment, which was developed by Aptos Lab. Atleast L1 altcoins won't make you disappointed. Although it need to decide a hard compitation which still a long journey for aptos. Within this 1 year, aptos progressd lot. $18 was a big price and If such development continues, then the price of aptos might reach more higher like $100 as op said

Aptos price hits $18 high last year and as at now it has dipped to $9, I know that it's best to buy when price dips, so if I were to buy it, I'll wait a little longer to see whether it'll dip more, because after that the probability is that it'll start to pump back. I know that $100 prediction is an exergeration, but I'm hopeful that it can still give it's investors value for their money.
1216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does BTC mean to you? on: February 05, 2024, 04:18:41 PM
Hello, Everyone

I'll keep this short.

What does BTC mean to you?

Some may say freedom others  say hope in a world of restriction, love to hear your responses.

I'd have to go with the popular understanding that Bitcoin, gives freedom from the shackles of centralized fiat currencies in the world, you can carry out your Bitcoin p2p transaction with another person who has a crypto wallet, without any third party interference. In my country our local fiat currency is depreciating everyday, and people's money that they've saved in the bank for a long term have drastically devalued, the same amount is still in the bank, but it's now valued far lower than it's worth 2 years ago, with Bitcoin the value will keep increasing. So again Bitcoin, is one of the best investments that I can invest in, because it a valuable asset that has the potential to keep increasing in value as the years goes by.
1217  Economy / Economics / Re: Business/Entrepreneurship. on: February 05, 2024, 03:05:22 PM
Business/entrepreneurship are similar because they both aim at giving value to their products consumers and getting profit rewards in return, however the difference between them is that entrepreneurs create business ideas, they're innovative thinkers, people who create solutions to satisfy the needs of consumers, while business people distributes the innovative ideas and products of these entrepreneurs, so in a layman's point of view the designers and manufacturers of a product are the entrepreneurs, while the people that distributes the products are the businesses. It should be noted that an entrepreneur can also be seen as a business person because his reward is also profit and lose, just like the regular business person.
1218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your view on this? Is it fun or addiction? on: February 05, 2024, 01:56:12 PM
I think that the message that your friend sent to the group is a figure of speech, an irony, meaning the opposite of the message that he sent, because it's the opposite of everything he said that makes sense. He probably wants the other students in the group to use their thinking faculty to code that he actually meant the opposite, if it's not a joke, then the guy must have intentions to mislead gullible students in the group. Taking loan to gamble is desperation, which leads to addiction and believing that through gambling can lead you to your generational wealth, is an illusion, because it's one in a million chance to hit that kind of jackpot that can change your life, there's nothing fun about these mindsets.
1219  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: No one has gone broke taking profits, always take profits. on: February 05, 2024, 11:18:41 AM
The thing is, you can't apply that advice to every position. Some assets are meant to be held long-term, while some assets are meant to be shorter-term trades. But since you're saying this in the Trading Discussion section(which is more towards trades than investments), then sure.

Trading is short term so I think that it's ok to take profits, atleast to reward yourself for a job well done, because trading is hard with more chances of encountering loses than profits. Although a trader should take some percentage of profit and leave the rest, so when loses occures it'll not dip into trading capital, because you might have all the technical knowledge in trading, yet loses will occur, so a good trader must have reserve to cushion the effects of loses. As far as investment goes, it's better to hodle for the long term, especially a reputable cryptocurrency like Bitcoin.
1220  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Joe Biden is a senile, old Bitch on: February 05, 2024, 09:19:36 AM
American is said to be a great democracy and this is an election year, so it's time for the good citizens of that country to exercise their power of one man one vote. Americans are smart people and after four years they must've known if Biden, is the best man for the job to continue as their president, so I implore them to put all their powers in their votes to determine his fate. So if you call Biden, names, it can be your personal opinion of him, but it's the ballot box that'll determine whether the majority of Americans, share your sentiments about your president, so do the talking by being a patriotic American, and cast your vote.
