First of all: GREAT work. We can see avr. gains around 10% on our 295x2 cards.
One little thing left - Your miner only gives temp stats for 1 GPU per card only, therefore can't stop if set max. temp is reached on a non-monitored GPU. We played around with all various parameters with no success.
Can you check that? Will provide any help if requested...

I don't have 295 card so I cannot check it easily. Have you disabled CrossFire? Usually it helps if ADL finds one card instead of two. Crossfire is disabled, even with one card only it does not see the second GPU temp. Same with 390x2, probably all Dual-GPU cards, can somebody confirm? Does someone use Dual-GPU cards & can confirm that the miner only sees the temp of the first GPU per card? regards, Tender I have one rig with 2 x 295, miner sees temps for 3 GPU“s... All you need is pci-e slots and dualcore CPU. Quadcore CPU might help with more than 4 GPU.
That helps a lot! But man, it's not going to be easy to find that new AMD card, it is not gonna be easily available for $200 either. Anymore suggestions for this $200 budget? Any nVidia graphics card suggestion?Nvidia? GTX 970. Amd? 290/390. I just traded one GTX 980 for two 290, really happy with that. |

Guys, I still haven't received the answer to my last question: Does the specification of computer system affects the only-GPU mining? See, I am planning to purchase a whole system, CPU along with GPU, just for mining. Otherwise I've a good laptop to spend my life on.
Other than that, I've decided to purchase AMD RX 480 once it comes to my country, probably after a week of two. I've checked my rate of kWh and it comes out to be $0.15 per unit. How much will I be able to save out in a day while mining Ethers with a single AMD RX 480? If it provides me a good result, I'd definitely plan to purchase like at least 4 more. All you need is pci-e slots and dualcore CPU. Quadcore CPU might help with more than 4 GPU. |

Amph, how much are you actually paying for kWh? around 0.26, i know it's freaking high, but it's still profitable, so i keep mining my high electricity is the only reason why i can not build a big farm and i'm here confined with 1 rig only i need to find a way to have cheap electricity, maybe purchasing from a private via rental of a local Ok, now I understand all those hash/ W posts. I just changed my provider and saved 0.02, still 0.1 though. |

All I can get is 25 mh with genoil miners, with a global work of 16384 local work 256. other miners are slower.

R9 290 as waiting will make profits thinner, you can snag a 290 for about 200 bucks and the 390 will run 300. R9 480 will be $200 when it gets released but it may be difficult to get in the beginning.
I get 25mh on my R9 290 units with proper settings.
You are doing something wrong. 290 should do 29MH easily. |

is there any efforts to make a dual GPU miner for nvidia like claymore for dcr and eth
SP was making one then stopped. I think Genoil is contemplating it, but hasn't done it yet. No one is collaborating to make it easier. Not sure why, it's a hot item miners are willing to pay for either in BTC or in a fee. Dual mining is actually far from hot. Red or green. -edit- ok it is hot with red. |

I am paying $0.12 and only thing that keeps me from running those hawaii's at full power is the heat they generate to my basement. It was nice during winter but not anymore.
You should move your farm to Norway. Right next to the powerplant with Hydro power. The biggest farm in the world, the genesis lamer farm has 0.22% of the worlds etherum hashrate. and there is not such thing as free power, that is called stealing, not possible here, efficiency matter more for me than initial investment
In my country the power is $0.05 a kwh in the summertime. A 290x will use $0.3 a day and make $5. If the power is cut to 130w u save $0.15. it's cut to 100w which mean 160w saved = almost 4kw a day saved, in your case only $0.2 a day saved = $6 a month saved for each card(if you have a farm, like 100 gpu, this is still huge saving) but not everyone has 0.05 electricity, for those that have 0.1 or 0.2, consumption matter more btw were do you live with 0.05 electricty? i know that in some of those place with cheap electricity, their cost of living is high, like in iceland I am paying $0.12 and only thing that keeps me from running those hawaii's at full power is the heat they generate to my basement. The problem here is the memory bandwidth - you are going to see the same for 480
So hitting this limit you can ether go dual miner way and utilize the board to its max or drop GPU voltage and/or clocks to see if you have same hashrate
Basically you can hash at the same speed with less power used
So it was all about that 512 against 256 mem band? I guess there will be no cheap 290's anymore... Not exactly - of course raw bus make an impact but its also dependent on algo - I think dual miner will be better for nv vs amd - we'll see if it happens in near future Hmm.. for me it looks like dcr pow mining days are gone... |
