12001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICOs should be allowed to set the minimum price of tokens at exchanges. on: July 22, 2018, 08:17:50 PM
I believe in market freedom but this has lead to so many projects having shit coins.I wish that the ICOs should be allowed to set the minimum price of the token at exchanges. So that anyone who sets the price lower than that price should not be allowed to trade the token. This will help to protect investors and prevent so many loses. This will also help to bring more investors.

What prevent loses is research and analysis before investing

For every buy there is a sell.

Someone is willing to sell at some price below ico because he thinks that's the real price.

And if you set a minimum price, who will buy it? Do you want to force people to buy a overpriced shitcoins so they can cover your losses?
12002  Other / Meta / Re: INCREASING HACKED ACCOUNT PROBLEM on: July 22, 2018, 05:33:18 PM
At some point entire meta section will be threads of people asking to get their accounts restored, if we aren't close to that already.

I doubt the restore account threads will overcome the crying merit threads lol

F.Lux is also an interesting program that let you reduce the blue light in your monitor.
I access this forum through a smartphone and I'm using a "brightness reducer" app to lessen the light coming from its screen. Does it also reduce the amount of blue light or not? If not then what are your suggestions to do so?

I hope you/someone could help me, thanks in advance Smiley.

There is an app called twilight that reduces the blue light. It's available on google play

F.Lux is also an interesting program that let you reduce the blue light in your monitor.

The blue light hurts our eyes. This little program intensifies the red light and reduces blue light. Very nice for this forum
So the red light by your opinion is less irritating for eyes than blue one? The most of forums and social networks use exactly all shades of blue for their design, cause of it the most neutral. I do not understand the need in changing color of the forum. It's just a wish of less than 1% of users who just feel too boring about blue color and I do not think that such function is really necessary.

As TryNinja said, there are many sources of information about blue light vs red light.

But you can try for yourself.

Have you ever seen windows night mode? It's a "red light" mode.

Also, you can take a look at lamps and lights in your house or your work, school etc. Here are cold white and warm white colors mostly.

If you look carefully you will see that the cold white (blue) hurts your eyes more than the warm white (red).
Just watch carefully and you will notice it.

What kind of stats can we expect to see there?

Did this button ever worked?
I was curious about it but recently I am satisfied with the stats available, such as number of posts, time logged in, etc..

Theymos has an account on Reddit and I see some interesting discussions in r/bitcoin, where he is also a mod.

But that's not related to bitcointalk.but it's worth taking a look
12010  Local / Criptomoedas Alternativas / Re: Bitcoin e altcoins?

12011  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: About Brazilian trucker's "strike" on: July 21, 2018, 12:21:53 AM
Education and technological development of country is a boring and slow way of improving the situation, but it is the only reasonable one that you can expect to work. All the other political changes will just end up in politicians being corrupt like always.

Yeah, that is correct.

Also, education is not only boring, but invisible.

Every 4 years we have elections. If someone tries to make a good education plan, few people will notice it.

But if he makes tons of bridges and big soccer stadiums, everyone can see, take photos, etc... he will be elected again easily.
12012  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: UK Writer Beaten to a BLOODY PULP With Hours of Releasing Pro-Trump Piece on: July 21, 2018, 12:15:36 AM
Can you explain this in more detail

I think the sovereign of a country is measure by its capacity to act independently to any other country power. This is acting according to its own population´s interest.
Being able to control its own central bank is interesting and may be an indicator of sovereign, but I don´t think it is an important one.

Jet Cash gave already many examples regarding the EU and England. England was losing part of its sovereign while acting according to EU interests, not its own. Even though they still controlled its own currency.
Brexit is a true act of sovereign. You can be against it, and there is nothing wrong with supporting globalism or EU. But Brexit is an act of sovereign, as they are no longer obligated to follow legislation that comes from the EU. Als, they are not obligated to act according EU demands. England or Britain or whatever you call it, is now free to do as they want, and they cannot be obligated to follow legislations that come from another nations.

Brazil , Venezuela and Cuba are interesting cases relating this matter.

Brazil is able to freely print all money possible. We have high inflation rates here. But I do not consider Brazil a sovereign nation now. We somehow have our sovereign, but nothing compared to contries such as USA or England.
Our government acts accordingly to other nations interests. We have to maintain socialist dictatorships worldwide. Look at these links
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-brazil-venezuela-debt/brazils-congress-approves-covering-missed-venezuela-payment-idUSKBN1I4044
https://www.gtreview.com/news/americas/bndes-loan-to-cubas-mariel-port-under-investigation/
While our ports infracstructure is like 40 years old, we are building a new and the biggest Latin america´s port in Cuba. For free, as they already said they will not pay us the loan. We have endless examples like this. We build subways in Venezuela, roads in Mozambique, etc…

Also, we are paying high money to Cuba to receive illiterate physicians from Cuba. They are working in our public health care.

This EU stuff is rich people´s problem compared to Brazil´s problems...
12013  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: UK Writer Beaten to a BLOODY PULP With Hours of Releasing Pro-Trump Piece on: July 20, 2018, 12:14:10 PM
I don't think he ability to create money is a sovereignty indicator.

Venezuela is printing money freely and they are not sovereign.
What they are doing is mostly dictated by other countries interests.

Sovereignty is much more related to act according to the interests of the population who lives there.
12014  Local / Criptomoedas Alternativas / Re: Bitcoin e altcoins?

12015  Other / Meta / Re: It's a struggle getting newbies to comment in basic information threads. on: July 20, 2018, 12:11:51 AM

I still do the airdrops though, I just don't post on the threads anymore Grin

From my experience, Airdrops are worthless and they cost your privacy. Even your reputation here, as if you participate in this kind of threads you will be tagged as a spammer.

I think you should consider ignoring those Airdrops and most bounties and focus your time in your education about blockchain. It will pay. You will get more money ranking up your account and learning than participating in those spamming boards for few cents..

Look what Antonopoulos has to say about it

12017  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Blockchain.info getting my BCH legacy wallet to new wallet sweep. on: July 19, 2018, 05:14:53 PM
Blockchain.info gives you full control over your privatekeys

Just insert your words on https://iancoleman.io/bip39/

After that, copy your privatekeys or scan the QR code into a new wallet.

For example, you can download coinomi wallet on your mobile and scan all the private keys QR codes using your bch wallet.

Or you can try to insert the words on Electrum cash
Or the privatekeys in Electrum cash.

I think even btc.com has a webwallet that supports bch.

You have plenty of options, just get the privatekeys on iancoleman.
tome conta do cesto.”

LOL, have you checked date when this thread was started? Few new users bumped old thread and then your replied. I think Bitcointalk need to lock old threads automatically after some time to avoid necro bumping.

Lol I didn't noticed it. The op was before the merit system was implemented.

Reddit has a auto lock thread after 6monhs. I don't think it would be a nice idea here, but something similar maybe
