12021  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: December 11, 2020, 03:32:01 AM
Test matches in India, Australia, England and New Zealand are very enjoyable. But Test matches in other countries are not exciting. Countries like Bangladesh, West Indies and Sri Lanka are far behind in the Test format. When these countries host a Test series with Australia or England the series becomes very one-sided. ODI or t20 matches are much more exciting than this and everyone enjoys it.

Bangladesh was never a major powerhouse and the ban on Shakib al Hassan made the matters even worse. Sri Lanka is still recovering from the 3-decade civil war and their talent pool is not very big. Pakistan is facing financial crunch, due to their ability to host matches at home (until very recently). And we all know what is the real issue with West Indies, where the players prefer franchise cricket over national duty. And the less talked about South Africa, that much better. South Africa were among the top sides two decades back. What happened after that can be solely blamed on the cricket board.
12022  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cambodia enacts new laws related to gambling. on: December 11, 2020, 03:14:06 AM
I still believe that 7% is on the higher side, as most of the other nations have lower taxes. But I must congratulate the Cambodian government for the fact that they have legalized and regulated the gambling industry there. Here in India, the government is refusing to do that and as a result the gambling is mostly done underground away from the eyes of the government authorities.
12023  Economy / Economics / Re: I lost my job, how about you guys? on: December 10, 2020, 06:04:26 AM
My neigbhor here that once so rich earning huge monthly from their business does not saving any money knowing that they had at advantage in which their area is a tourist spot and that they do not think that time to happen like this where they don't get any source of income now from the tourist visit in their place. They had invested only on material things, cars the things for comfort and for fun. Most of the time they had always been drinking, always celebrating that means always spending their money they earn. It was an easy money earn thought but it was completely wasted.

Now they are selling little by little the things they own and that include their cars. Sad, but if only they invested it right then they will not going to go back again where they need do for a living and to survive.

LoL. I guess you have a mini-Venezuela in your neighborhood. I don't expect the tourism sector to recover at least for the next 12 months. And this will have a cascading effect. Other sectors which are dependent on tourism, such as hospitality, cab providers, airlines.etc will also get negatively affected. I don't have any sympathy for these people. They should have prepared for hard times when they were getting good revenue.
12024  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your opinion on bitcoin holder tax from Indian government Income Tax on: December 10, 2020, 05:44:15 AM
That's what I was thinking too. I think that guy lives in dreamland if he thinks he will only pay 5%. You pay more than 5% just in VAT. Different income brackets pay different taxes. If you earn less than a certain amount you don't pay tax. So if you slowly convert your crypto into fiat without going over the threshold you don't have to pay tax.

Very sensible post. A lot of the users here are living in dreamland and they don't want to face the reality. In real life, there is no option other than paying your taxes that are due. It is ridiculous to claim that 30% is too high and therefore only 5% should be paid. It is not up to the individual to decide his tax rate. If that was the case, then no one would be paying any taxes on their capital gains.
12025  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - February 20 on: December 10, 2020, 05:34:25 AM
It will be more like WWE in that case, rather than boxing. I strongly suspect that the script is already ready and the outcome is decided much before the match.

Very possible as everything is like show that purposely done to collect money from those fans who will watch them up and pay for the tickets or subscribes for the PPV.

Most of the high-profile boxing matches are available on PPV, and they doesn't come cheap. Since Floyd Mayweather is involved here, I am quite sure that the price tag will be close to $100 per view. Logan Paul also have a huge following in YouTube, and this is a fight between two US-based individuals. Also, the KSI vs. Logan Paul fight attracted millions of PPV views (although the fee per view was quite low).
12026  Economy / Economics / Re: Currencies worth less than Satoshi on: December 10, 2020, 05:08:07 AM
Rather than looking at the absolute exchange rate for these fiat currencies, we should be rather analyzing the change in purchasing power. For Bitcoin, the purchasing power has gone up by more than 100% ever since the start of this year. On the other hand, for many of the fiat currencies listed by the OP, the purchasing power has gone down quite steeply.

12027  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins price pump influence bitcoin price Negatively ? on: December 10, 2020, 04:58:00 AM
There is no doubt that the increasing market cap of altcoins will have a negative impact on the exchange rates. There is a lot of overlap between the userbase of Bitcoin, and that for altcoins. So if the altcoin market cap is increasing, that means that at least some of the Bitcoin holders are selling their coins and moving to altcoins for better profits. I just hope that they will not end up like what happened in 2018, when most of the alts went down by 95% to 99%.
12028  Economy / Economics / Re: Pandemic: good for the bitcoin market or bad? on: December 10, 2020, 04:47:59 AM
for now I think you have to really prepare mentally when you want to invest because with the arrival of Corona there are many difficulties in finding work offline so if you have capital you have to be patient and maybe long-term investments can be a solution to reduce panic.

The job market will be there. Some of the jobs may get transferred from the offline realm to the online sphere. For example, many of the dine-in restaurants in my area are now concentrating in home delivery of food items. Retail shops and supermarkets have also started accepting online orders. Those who earlier worked in these shops are now working as delivery executives.
12029  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - February 20 on: December 10, 2020, 04:12:45 AM
So now there will be all sorts of bloggers and kickboxers in the competition according to the rules of Boxing.
When the fight is totally an exhibition fight, it does not follow with the certain rules of boxing, they can make their own rules, and they can even rig the fight to make it last longer to entertain the fans, it's like we are watching a movie where everything is scripted.

It will be more like WWE in that case, rather than boxing. I strongly suspect that the script is already ready and the outcome is decided much before the match. So there is no point in making a bet on such a fight. Ideally, it should be a cakewalk for Floyd Mayweather. But we never know, as this may be a scripted match. And I don't think that a lot of gambling sites may allow betting on this one.
12030  Economy / Economics / Re: Economy after COVID-19 on: December 10, 2020, 03:46:03 AM
They need to start making plans on how to improve the country, even at the current situation, they can still make a plan, and this one really involves increasing taxes on other industries, some countries are increasing their taxes on gambling industry, so might be an effective strategy, or allowing more opportunity for operators to operate a casino in a country.

From what we have seen during the last few decades, increasing taxes can be counterproductive for the government. Not only it will result in business units getting closed, it will also make the employment situation worse. The solution is not to increase taxes at this point, when the businesses are struggling. The government should rather reduce their wasteful spending and manage the funds in a better way.
12031  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: December 10, 2020, 03:27:38 AM
I can't agree with your thought. If only Indian bowlers do well, India has no chance of winning. Indian batsmen also have to perform well. Most of the batsmen in the Indian squad are young. Their test playing experience against any big teams is low. And this is why I don't think India will be able to win against Australia.

How many of these younger players actually concentrate on the longer format? Many of them are very good in the T20 format, but their skills for the longer format is not that great. Most of them doesn't even participate in the 4-day domestic tournament (Ranji Trophy) and the BCCI is also not taking any steps to rectify this. For this year, we don't even know whether the Ranji Trophy tournament will take place or not.
12032  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 10, 2020, 03:17:04 AM
Its a shame that this has happened to Will Pucovski as he was almost certain to play for Australia in the first test match. The concern with him is that this has happened many times already in his short career so I think the Australian selectors won't rush him into the side but I do hope we get to see him play in the test series, maybe he will debut in the Boxing Day test match?

I don't think that he would have got selected for the playing XI. His performance during the warmup match was not exactly satisfactory. In fact, none of the Australia A batsmen were impressive, apart from Cameron Green. If the selectors want to include Pucovski in the squad, then it is their decision. But I would rather advise them not to rush this young player before he is ready for it.
12033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Super League (ISL) Football match updates, predictions and discussions on: December 09, 2020, 04:44:42 AM
It is going to be two one-sided matches today and tomorrow. Today we have the Mumbai City FC taking on the Chennaiyin FC, and tomorrow it is East Bengal against Jamshedpur FC. SC East Bengal has lost every single match they played so far and they don't look comfortable with their promotion from the I-League to the ISL. And this creates issues for the ISL management. Their decision to promote SCEB to the ISL will be questioned by the critics.
12034  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paying with crypto is more accessible than ever on: December 09, 2020, 04:34:23 AM
yes, I am also happy to hear if there is a service that accepts payments via crypto. If I'm not mistaken pizza companies in America accept crypto payments. but majority use via BTC & ETH. I have never heard of accepting other crypto uses, if anyone knows, maybe you can enter the information here.

None of the major Pizza chains have officially started accepting cryptocurrency as a payment. But some of the franchises have started accepting it in the United States and Canada. And apart from BTC and ETH, other popular options are BCH, LTC and USDT. The latter group is getting more popular now, as the transaction fee has increased for both Bitcoin and Ethereum.
12035  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lesser known altcoins with actual usecases and strong fundamentals on: December 09, 2020, 04:24:26 AM
One that comes to my mind is Deep Onion. It is a TOR-based anonymous coin, which first came online in 2017. Currently, it is down 99% from the ATH, but the community is still very active and the promoters are working really hard to remove bugs and other software issues. But for some unknown reason, the exchange rates have remained at very low levels, even during the current rally.
12036  Economy / Economics / Re: China’s digital yuan could replace bitcoin & end US dollar hegemony on: December 09, 2020, 04:14:40 AM
Chinese economy is like an inflated balloon. Citizens are being forced to invest in over-priced assets, as they have no other option available. Also, this is one of the reasons why China is having the highest amount of capital outflow in the world. Look at the stocks that are listed in the Shanghai Stock Exchange. The P/E ratio is much higher than what we have in other exchanges. The same is the case with the Chinese real estate market.
12037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 09, 2020, 04:04:34 AM
Shaw is a talented young player no one doubts. He is only 21 years old. He has a lot of time in front of him to make his slot in the Indian team. Now he is in off form. Now if he is taken in the team, and if he can not perform well. However, the Indian team management will not give him another chance. I think, Shaw should prepare himself for Indian Best 11 through more training.

I would still say that Prithvi Shaw was thrusted in to the national team before he was ready for it. India should learn a lesson or two from the Australians. Look at the way they are handling Will Pucovski. Younger players are included in the national side, only after they get a lot of exposure from the A team tours and Sheffield Shield matches. This helps them a lot in handling the pressure of international cricket.
12038  Economy / Economics / Re: I lost my job, how about you guys? on: December 09, 2020, 03:52:12 AM
our main problem is demand of the product which is dropping during pandemi. Not only seller who get a crisis economy condition but also the customer, as the seller's perspective we should know that for sure.

Food home delivery services have seen an astounding growth ever since the pandemic forced governments to implement lockdown measures. So why don't you partner with some of these services, to deliver your products directly to the customers?

It is true that food delivery services can increase their sales, but if the problem is that buyers are also experiencing economic difficulties and cannot afford the food they are selling, a food delivery strategy will not help much of their business.  But still, food delivery services are worth a try but they also have to be patient a lot if things don't go well as expected.

In this case it is only partially true. He is mostly dealing with kebabs and burgers, which are affordable to the vast majority of the population. In fact, I would say that as a result of the financial crunch, people may avoid more expensive full-service restaurants and rely more on cheaper fast food joints. What he needs to do is to combine both the dine-in and delivery options.
12039  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: December 09, 2020, 03:42:11 AM
These qualifiers are almost a world cup .... 55 teams competing for only 13 places, is that great event that the whole world (in fact, only those who like football) stops to watch, because from here we will already have an idea of what to expect for the great championship.

In my opinion, that almost all groups were very well distributed, now for France it is easy to guarantee your place... Ukraine, Finland, Bosnia and Kazakhstan in your group.

Yes.. for the 2022 tournament, 13 of the teams from UEFA are going to qualify. For the 2026 edition, it is going to be 16. But still I have to say that the European teams got a rough deal for 2026. Currently they are having 13 qualification slots out of 32 (40.6%). And this will be reduced to 33.3%. In understand that FIFA want more Asian and African teams in the tournament, to make it diverse. But they need to ensure the quality as well. For example, during the 2018 edition the worst performance came from teams such as Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
12040  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin retirement account on: December 09, 2020, 03:32:27 AM
It's a great plan and I have a similar savings plan and have published it to my college friends. They were really convinced by me because the value of Bitcoin will really be very high in the future.

But to optimize your plan, you should spend about 30 minutes per day analyzing the market and choosing the price to buy bitcoin and hold over the long term. This will reduce the risk of your portfolio as well as when you need money urgently you will sell Bitcoin at a profit, not at a loss.

All this is fine. But at the same time, you should understand that major corrections can occur, in which the exchange rates can go down by as much as 20% or 30% and stay at that level for many months. The trick is not to panic and to hold on to your coins. The biggest enemy of a cryptocurrency investor is panic selling. If you can avoid it, then you will be able to rake in good amount of profit.
