12041  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: March 07, 2016, 10:58:37 AM
Many people like gold of course. But Bitcoin will be the future. So that is very good for Bitcoin and bad for gold.
I think people like Bitcoin also. But more people must know about bitcoin, that is very important. And I hope that it will be also more worth.

Bitcoin will be more and more valuable in the future that is for sure. That's why it is much better investment than gold IMO. Everybody in the world knows what is gold, but still only a few people know what is Bitcoin. When Bitcoin is well known to everybody only then we will see its real price.
12042  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who will win WW3? on: March 07, 2016, 10:48:13 AM
Nobody will win WW3, everyone will lose. Nuclear bombs used on a mass scale will make most of the world uninhabitable and create vast amounts of sickness. That is the ultimate outcome and it's never glamorous.

Yes it is possible that the big states will use nuclear weapons in this war but IMO it is very unlikely. You know in the modern world everything is interweaved so much that bombing your enemy you might end up bombing your own children. I hope every government understands this and they won't use a nuclear weapon in any case.

12044  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin invest on: March 07, 2016, 10:14:36 AM
i know bitcoin itself is already an investment but i have 3 bitcoin sitting around and I'm looking for a quick 5% flip any idea??

Whatever ideas you might get you should understand that there is no guarantee it will work for you. Even a ponzi scheme might give a profit to some investors but most of them are ripped off of course.

Having 3 Bitcoins you better hold them and don't look for a quick profit because it is very easy to lose them all trying to make the amount bigger.
12045  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 15btc transaction fee, big mistake on: March 04, 2016, 09:12:03 AM
This could never happen. Is there any possible way to get back those bitcoins which were considered as the transaction charge. Is anyone heard of such incident other than this?

It happened at least one time before.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1lb5my/asicminer_refunds_the_accidental_200_btc/

Wow! Great story!  Some person attached 25,000$ worth of bitcoin as a fee to his transaction and then he gets a refund.

Like one of the comments says: "Friedcat (apparently the guy who did the refund) might qualify for early sainthood."
12046  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why transactions are taking too long ? on: March 02, 2016, 02:31:40 PM
I have been sending my transactions with 4x the minimal fee for a while and they seem to be confirming kinda faster.
What is your usual fee guys that you like to use? Do you use the high to medium fees or lower?

I always use very low fees, less than a medium anyway, and the interesting part is my transactions always go pretty fast: from 5 mins to 30 mins max, but most of them take less than 10 mins. So it really surprises me when I see people who pay high fees complain about slow transactions.
12047  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to quit Gambling for good? on: March 01, 2016, 01:07:11 PM
You know there's a person that after losing really a bunch of moneys, are realizing that they need to stop.

It is automatic. Hope other gamblers are like that and remove the chasing the loss goal.
But sometimes there are incidents you almost won, so you get excited and try again and most of the time you will almost win again. This goes on and on until you are in deep sh*t. So you can't quit because you are already too deep in it.

I disagree. You always can quit doing something including gambling. All of those "I can't stop doing it because ..." are just cheap excuses.

My advice to OP is stop gambling for a week and then compare your life when you are gambling to when you are not. You'll see yourself what is better for you.
12048  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Awesome Bitcoin Addresses !! on: March 01, 2016, 08:39:00 AM
I heard storing too many bitcoins on a vanity address could get them stolen because the service you created your address at knows your private keys and someone with an access to the database could rip you off easily. I don't know if this is 100% true just heard rumors.

I'm not sure I understand what you are talking about. How could they know your private keys? I thought they have no way of knowing the  private keys they produce, otherwise it makes no sense.

First robot to solve a Rubik's Cube in under 1 second

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEmTXN8koUg&feature=youtu.be

To me it looks like it takes more than 1 second for that robot to solve the Cube but well that's impressive anyway. Yeah I saw the timer with 0.888 s on it but it looks like it took a second and a half at least. Did they slow the vid to make it possible to see the moves?
12050  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it a good long term investment to buy 1 BTC today? on: February 28, 2016, 10:01:10 AM
for me buying 1 btc for now is a good investment
my prediction for this few years is bitcoin price is going to raise.

so if you have money buy now and invest it, hopefully in few years you will see your investing result.

I can't say Bitcoin always was a good investment: two years ago was definitely not the right time to buy it if you were going to sell it in the near future, but now, when it is less than $500 it is the right time. IMO even people who invested in Bitcoin 2 years ago will not lose anything they just should wait longer until the price will be over $1k, but in the long run they won't lose a cent.
12051  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to stay away from gambling? suggestions ? on: February 28, 2016, 09:25:38 AM
You should keep your BTC in Coinbase or Xapo vault with a withdrawal delay, that way you won't be able to gamble.
if you're a gambler addicts. you Will still want to play, even if your money on hold. you would have to borrow money

Exactly! That's why there should be another way apart from not having access to your money.

I suggest to sit and think about what you like to do the most. If it is gambling then you should go to a doctor, but if it's something else like reading books or meeting with your friends then you might try spending your money on books or on your friends rather than on gambling.
12052  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you consider trading as gambling? on: February 28, 2016, 09:10:56 AM
Hey people,

I've always been a huge gambler. I like creating useless schemes (as we all know bank always win ^^) and betting whole nights long in order to find THE right way of betting.
But I need change, I can't bet over and over on the same game cause after I see that nothing can be done to change the odds, I'm bored.

So I thought a bit about trading and I started not so long ago. and it feels a bit like a betting game without knowing the odds and with an infinity of parameters!

Does anyone else takes trading as a gambling game? Smiley

Yep, trading resembles gambling a lot: if you hit the MAX button you might lose big, only in gambling you might lose all you have and with trading you lose only part of what you had, you can't lose all at once. So trading is a bit safer IMO, but you should always remember that like in gambling the worst your enemy is a "strategy" which you think is unbeatable.
12053  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Singularity on: February 28, 2016, 08:40:16 AM
In one of the topics here appeared the subject of downloading the human brain into a hard drive in the near future.
Also one of Ray Kurzweil's books was mentioned.
What do you think (feel about) of this?
Will it happen in the next 50 (maximum) years?
Will this be the first step in becoming immortal?

I don't think that immortality is a goal here. Ray Kurzweil said: "Death gives meaning to our lives. It gives importance and value to time. Time would become meaningless if there were too much of it." And I completely agree with him. Also I don't think that downloading the human brain into a hard drive would be ever possible. Actually we still don't know exactly what is human brain and how it operates.
12054  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin becoming centrally planned: Communist on: February 28, 2016, 08:27:05 AM
Bitcoins would let you transact using an electronic system, more anonymous and quite separate to your bank account.
But still, the rise of a digital currency instead of cold hard cash frightens a lot of people. But it could make sense for governments to dump cash and relay on only Digital currency.

Maybe they will do just that in the future but most likely it will happen in the far future, 20 or 30 years from now. At this point most people unfortunately are not ready to dump cash completely and not only because of the habit of using it, there are a lot of other factors preventing relaying only on digital currency.
12055  Economy / Economics / Re: If you hold 1 BTC you are a pioneer on: February 27, 2016, 09:48:07 AM
If you hold 10 or more you are part of an elite.

This is my conclusion after the years I have been involved here. Absolutely no one in real life knows what the hell Bitcoin is, and even your most geeky friends may probably never heard about Bitcoin. Now if you take into account the people that has heard about it... what percentage own 1 BTC? Exactly.. you know almost no one.
And what percentage own 10 BTC? I personally know no one (people from this forum don't count obviously).

This simple observation shows you only need 1 BTC to be a pioneer on Bitcoin in 2016.

Very nicely put, I agree. I'm not holdind 1 BTC yet but in the end of the Summer 2016 I hope I will have one. Also living in a big city I don't know anyone who own 10 BTC. A friend of mine has several Bitocins because he used to mine more than a year recently but he never have had 10 BTC I know that for sure.
12056  Other / Off-topic / Re: How would you guys react if you guys lost 10, 000 bitcoin? on: February 26, 2016, 12:18:18 PM
If I lost 10,000 Bitcoins I'd be depressed for sure long period of time. Then I would think about how this happened that I had those 10,000 Bitocins in the first place. Because if I managed to get them once why couldn't I do it again? So I'd start to earn Bitcoins again knowing that I should awoid actions which bring me to lose it.
12057  Economy / Economics / Re: The $1 Million Dollar Bitcoin on: February 26, 2016, 09:54:05 AM
I read about bitcoin in 2010. Thinking about the rules of distribution written in code I saw one million dollar bitcoin back then. I could not be sure this small niche would catch wind back then but today I am sincerely confident I will see a million dollar bitcoin if I live to an old age. Remember that it really does not mean 21 trillion market cap if you factor lost coins into it.(which is large amount)

My guesstimate is that the next huge bull run will mostly happen second half 2017. $10000+ at that time might be met. There will be years of pullback until new orders of magnitude are hit in about 4 year cycles. A few catalysts are possible that could mean even more bullishness. Potential pitfalls exist of course too. As an example of a catalyst say there was a new extreme financial crises that alone draws money into btc but in the middle of chaos a central bank decides to hold bitcoin as reserve and some others follow! $1,000,000? nope try much more...

Debt backed by deficit fiat currency is impossible to float forever in current form. You walk a line in between debt deflationary spiral  and out of control inflation . When a politician says we need to pay off our debt I chuckle at the impossibility baring negative rates or something.

There is no limit to the dollar cost of bitcoin. NONE in the long run.

I like your way of thinking and your predictions. All of this might happen in the future. Why not? That's why we are trying to earn more Bitocins and we are not going to sell them with the current price because the price is too low, Bitcoin is very underestimated today.
12058  Economy / Economics / Re: Does the Price of Bitcoin Matter? on: February 25, 2016, 03:19:54 PM
The price doesn't matter if you buy Bitcoin and spend it the same hour, but if you wait longer you might lose or win depending on the Bitcoin's price at the moment you are making a purchase. Some guys are selling their stuff for Bitcoins only, you may want to check this out: https://www.reddit.com/r/bitmarket
12059  Economy / Gambling / Re: I turned 1 BTC into 41.5 BTC! Now I want to withdraw... on: February 25, 2016, 09:38:23 AM
he is lying . I think he did not win anything
So you mean the screen shots are fake ? Well could be .But it is highly possible he can be advertising the website as a publicity stunt or maybe he actually won the amount.Fact is, he hasn't got the money into his account or wallet yet.So let's wait for him to conform his payments.

someone has pointed early that the rolls are real and here is a link to one of the rolls
https://safedice.com/bets/97401558
these numbers can happen in gambling , a couple of weeks ago someone won over 10 times than this win in this thread and he was playing in bitdice
anyway congrats OP , this can't happen everyday so make sure to enjoy your profit  Smiley

Ok, but why OP didn't answer did he/she withdraw yet or not? Because if you have a "profit" on your computer screen only that's not exactly a profit, tha's just a nice picture that's all.

I hope that OP did withdraw though and now just have no time to login to bitcointalk having fun with the win money. )
12060  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people use so many Bitcoin wallets? on: February 25, 2016, 09:31:51 AM
I think companies like coinbase use a different wallet for every deposit so no one can track the amount of a customers deposits.  It's not all being put in the same wallet for deposit.
Yes but for us ordinary bitcoin users why should coined many bitcoin wallet?
I still do not understand what is the reason.

Well, you know they say "Don't put all your eggs in one basket", may that's why they are using many different wallets. Idk, I used to have two wallets some time ago and now I have only one. Time will tell who's right though.
