Nice picks on the draws hilarious. Trofo, looks like you were wise to refrain from PSG. I parlayed Real and Juventus but I doubt the Spaniards can put down 3 goals in the second half now. Another losing night for me it seems, (I did also put Lokomotiv Moskow but they're leading and I don't want to jinx myself... or have I already? haha).

12062  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin will Hit $100,000 in or Before 2022 on: September 18, 2019, 04:44:37 PM

I think the issue here is where do we get that amount of money to flow into the ecosystem and push the price to $100k in the next coming years. Unless institutional investors move to the market and pour their cash, it might take years for us to finally see a 6 digit figure, just saying. Personally I think that it will be around 2024-2025.

Maybe we never need that amount of money. If people keep holding, and it appears that the data shows that exactly is happening, then there is less available liquidity, and thinner orderbooks (comparatively), and it won't take much buying pressure to get that $100,000.

As it stood, the volumes climbing up from 3k to 10k weren't so high either, not when compared to when Bitcoin was chugging down the other direction!
12063  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New merchant service -- how to buy crypro for SEPA or AdvCASH on: September 18, 2019, 09:46:14 AM
What's so revolutionary about SEPA buys for Bitcoin? That's been the way people do business on localbitcoins and other p2p for far cheaper, far quicker, and until recently, without even KYC.

I check right now, LBC 1000 Euro gets you 0.109 BTC. You get 0.1016 at your place. LBC even has instant sepa.

Give me a revolution, guys, come on.
12064  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-09-16] Darkweb criminals launder cash for bitcoin at pennies for dollar on: September 18, 2019, 07:26:15 AM
Did Armor actually test any of these services?
There's nothing mentioned in the report I linked to above to suggest that they bought or attempted to buy any of the services they are reporting on, including all those which use bitcoin or other cryptocurrency. As you say, there is no shortage of scammers on the clear web, so why would there be a shortage on the dark web, where it is essentially impossible to take any real action against spammers. This essentially sounds like the twitter scam of "Send 0.5 ETH to get 5 ETH back", but with extra steps. I would, however, be surprised if every one of the services or trades that are mentioned in the report are scams.

I'm not exactly familiar with trading illegal services on the dark web. Are escrows a thing?

I'm sure some of them are legitimate hackers, for sure, but the large majority are outright scammers, copy pasting the same tactics that worked 20 years ago.

Escrows are a thing on darkmarkets themselves, but that's a good point. Those services Armor's talking about? They don't do escrows. You send them Bitcoin, and they promise to Western Union you money. It's classic, just as beautiful as the Nigerian Prince scams, because it works.

I think guys like Armor give too much credit to kiddie scammers. And they have no clue about what happens. They just enter these markets, get their heads done in by the amazing things they see on sale, and then scramble to write a report that's not substantiated.

Like you said, I don't think any of the services were tested. Armor took the ads at pure face value.

Bookies had a field day last night. Teams who scored for fun couldn't, supposed underdogs won tough away games or at least drew, except for the one I picked haha.

But no worry, we back another pair of old giants tonight. Real and Juventus face really tough opponents, but can we count on Ronaldo and the Galacticos to inject some enthusiasm into their teams tonight, with underwhelming domestic campaigns so far?

Game 1: Paris Saint Germain-Real Madrid. Read WIN @3.11. BCR odds: 3.08
Game 2: Atletico Madrid-Juventus. Juve WIN @3.40. BCR odds: 3.26

Well, no victories, what an opener, only draws and BTTS would have been happy I guess?

I have Liver/Barca parlay at 5/1 and Lille upset at 7/1. About to place another maybe HMM! What do you guys think? Inter too overrated, as is Lyon, any hope for the other away underdogs maybe?

Lots of drama I just love these nights. Enjoy the game, gents and ladies!
12067  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is the bitcoin price prediction for 2020? on: September 17, 2019, 06:24:03 PM
The possibilities of a price increase during 2020 are high, however when most people are expecting an increase in the price it does not happen, just as the current recovery that we have been experiencing took many by surprise, the only thing that we can do is to be ready and to be holding as much bitcoin as we can because if there is really a bull run during 2020 then even if you are holding a small amount of bitcoin it could change your life for the better.

What is this high possibility based on again? On pure expectations of most people? Yeah, I'd go for that.

Seriously though, this is exactly why I still want all the market to be in a super bearish mood. Negativity needs to be stronger, all the hands need to let go and leave only the strongest, most stubborn... who are also the least vocal.

And then see the fireworks when one spark set it all off again;)
12068  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk's UEFA Champions League Football Preditor Pool £25 in btc to join on: September 17, 2019, 03:01:15 PM
Right then, boys!

I bet a 9/1 outright on Liverpool to WIN champions league last season so I see no harm in another $10 on them. Odds only 7.5/1 at Fairlay though. Interesting odds is for Bayern and Red Star to progress to Last 16 at Spur's expense: 14/1.

@toke: I suspect we see more Liverpool fans this year than other years =p

Me I'm satisfied with Liverpool/Barca parlay 5/1. For now. Definitely potential for upsets tonight, as bookies give home advantage a lot of gas in betting. Ajax were rather poor at home last season I recall, so Lille at almost 7/1 seems tempting.
12069  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-09-16] Darkweb criminals launder cash for bitcoin at pennies for dollar on: September 17, 2019, 11:13:11 AM
Did Armor actually test any of these services?

They realise there are scores of these so-called Paypal/WU/Skrill etc for BTC services popping up every day, right? And they're generally just scammers with nothing to sell.

You can see their ads pop up right here on the forum every now and then:

Here's one post that missed being deleted: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1926006.0

They've all used almost the exact same copy from the 1990s, used to be WU for Paypal, then for e-gold, not for Bitcoin. Outright scams, not actual hackers with money to launder or hacked bank accounts to sell.
12070  Economy / Gambling discussion / Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +16401 units on: September 17, 2019, 06:52:37 AM
Nope. Not good. If the Villains can't win against 10-men competitors at mid table, I don't know how they're going to fare the rest of the season with that wage bill, but good for me, means their odds will be notched down and when they win, it will be big.

Champions League. I smell at least 2 away upsets tonight, but for now, let's stick with an away win for last season's epic semi-finalists, shan't we? We'll add on an underdog bet or two a little later tonight.

Game 1: Napoli vs Liverpool. Liverpool to WIN @2.29. BCR odds: 2.26
Game 2: Borussia Dortmund vs Barcelona. Barca to WIN @2.27. BCR odds: 2.22

Pascal, can't believe it's been almost a year since we got in touch to cover the story of you and Art (r)evolution. Can't tell you how happy and glad I am to see this news.

Not that it's important (or maybe it is;) ) but just 2wo more years, and that $12k will be a very different number, I'm sure of that!

Best wishes, Pascal.
12072  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you guys ok if BTC ends in the 10k USD range at the end of 2019? on: September 16, 2019, 05:48:57 PM
Best case scenario is $1M by 2021 but that's me ....  Wink

i wouldn't call that a "best case" really!

I probably should explain that my best case scenario is purely fantasy, although attempting also not to sway too far away from what's realistic and possible (though I know those two are anything but the traits of Bitcoin!).

So my "rational fantasy" wants me to have 1 BTC to fully enjoy that 1 million dollars, so I still need BTC to stay as low as possible first Wink I know, I'm so selfish!

But I would be sad (really!) to see BTC at $1 mill and not be able to take advantage, right guys?
12073  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: September 16, 2019, 03:38:39 PM
David Luiz saved me. I went for a right upset at 2-1 home win but I'm happy the penalty also cost most of you points (did anyone pick a draw I should have checked).

@hilarious ah yeah I wondered if it was going to be prominent but it actually does look real visible the BTC on the sleeve. Or is it just because we're all just so accustomed to seeing it there?

Apparently Mia Khalifa was all IG-ing it up at the Watford Bitcoin box.

One more game to make my week not-so-shitty. Go Aston Villa =p
12074  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you guys ok if BTC ends in the 10k USD range at the end of 2019? on: September 16, 2019, 12:22:03 PM
Yeah, 100% happy. Of course, anyone could be happier, for me I don't make it a secret that I consider myself belated to the game and always cheer for low prices since I earn in btc. 3k price? That was a dream that didn't last but already anything I earned then is 3x as valuable today.

Probably best case scenario is to dip again to 8k. Ending a year at 10k after earning a month or two in that dip would ve a nice Christmas.
12075  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Statistics: Geez, I thought there were more females in bitcoin community on: September 16, 2019, 11:19:06 AM
Don't know why you were so surprised really. It's a tech thing, go figure.

Now supposedly, one explanation is that women are proven to be more risk averse than men. I agree here, and the science seems to be pretty solid on that.

However, it doesn't explain why the gender disparity is even more pronounced in, say, developer communities or metrics like github commits.

So yeah. It's still a tech thing. Nothing more. You want to meet more women, look at the corporate blockchains where they have wider range of skillsets under employment.
12076  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Biometric BTC wallet? on: September 16, 2019, 09:30:51 AM
so nobody here is using faceid or touchid?

Look I think it was cool faceid and it is a form of security for corporate and business use devices, and even for consumer devices etc. But these are rather different use cases than to actually be the main form of security for bitcoin.

Biometrics in security for your iphone I'd say doesn't get me worried about someone hacking off my eyes/finger to get into my phone (I realise I'm dramatising). But if I had a sizeable amount in my bitcoin wallet, I daresay I'd be more worried about that.

P.S. I have used touchid for laptop and happy it's there. But I just wouldn't use touchid for a wallet. Others might. Power to them.
12077  Economy / Speculation / Re: 4 Key Similarities to Previous Bull Market Corrections on: September 16, 2019, 08:20:47 AM
Similarities can be drawn, and I think a lot of people are doing that already, some to the point of clutching at straws, if you ask me.

But I wonder about this particular period in the global economy, if that's a main difference to this coincidence of a bull market correction.

I mean, it's never been particularly healthy for any economy, national regional or global, not since 2009, but with actual steps taken in quantitative easing this year alone from US central banks and ECB, I daresay this is a major difference compared to the past corrections.

Could this be why we're not seeing stronger corrections? Bitcoin was barely at 15% of ATH, when it's been below 10% in the past corrections.
12078  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +16281 units on: September 16, 2019, 06:30:36 AM
Everton weren't bad, but then if you can't get your attack together properly then you better be prepared to at least cover in midfield before your back gets exposed so badly.

And Watford, wow, that's how you make sure you stay in the EPL!

I like Aston Villa's chances, and a routine Torino win at home should keep us going:

Game 1: Aston Villa vs West Ham. Villa WIN @2.74. BCR odds: 2.72
Game 2: Torino vs Lecce. Torino WIN @1.50. BCR odds: 1.48

12079  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: September 15, 2019, 07:05:00 PM
Well, hasn't been a good week and I did say I'd change my Sunday outcomes if I didn't do well on Saturday but after getting 5.5 points, I thought ah well, might as well.

So I changed to Everton, but see what happens? Bournemouth slight upset. Now I switched back scores to Watford to beat Arsenal =D

Anyway, I really am beginning to think it pays to just keep betting on the expected outcomes and trying to get scores right.

I'm the only one who predicted Norwich but even that daring move only earned me 1.5 points. Not worth it to keep trying for 1.5 points against City! But the 25/1 bet? Always worth it.

Enjoy the next game at Chelski, LFC! But first, Napoli! We are a very different team this season so we will be better prepared in Naples I think =)

12080  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Main Club Partner of Watford FC ⚽ Fun. 🏀 Fast. 🎾 Fair. 🏆 on: September 15, 2019, 06:11:27 PM
Anyone else took the Watford special? They did just enough to win it so I got some money back after losing two earlier bets haha.

Over 7.5 corners (8 corners)
+0.5 handicap so we needed a draw at least

Over 1.5 goals, Over 1.5 cards were no problem though.

One more hour for the 1 BTC to move, so if no one claims it, we should have at least 7 people who will find out they won but never claimed >$10k!
