12081  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Schiff vs. Barry Silbert: Gold and Bitcoin on: June 01, 2019, 01:50:11 PM
I'm 50-50 on who I'm siding with on this debate. Personally, while I'm a bitcoiner, I also like gold; due to the simple reason that it's one of the most stable and liquid assets we currently have. Whereas, Silbert was pretty much anti-gold on the debate. I liked Erik Voorhees' arguments a lot more on his debates with Schiff as he has a more sort of "balanced" approach on his arguments, as he also likes gold.

Seriously though, why can't we have Andreas Antonopoulos to debate Peter Schiff? Schiff would get massacred.
12082  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: These will be the best months of your crypto career late comers on: June 01, 2019, 01:40:54 PM
When you no need to buy it, it's free, simple?😆

That doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Going with your logic, you can pretty much say that if you have a job that pays you with bitcoin, it's free money, because you don't buy the bitcoin, right? Tongue

Also, you're pretty much trading your personal information when you're claiming airdrops.
12083  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Say it again? Bitcoin transaction fees expensive? on: June 01, 2019, 11:14:17 AM
To be fair, Roger Ver and other big blockers are complaining about the "high transaction fees" in the form of coffee-value transactions though, for the typical person trying to go on his day; not multi-million dollar transactions. Still great to be able to transfer huge amounts of money with just a fee of a few dollars though.
12084  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: These will be the best months of your crypto career late comers on: June 01, 2019, 10:58:02 AM
I think bounties and airdrop are some of the genius creation in crypto, because it is imcomaprable to bitcoin mining, some may argue mining is not free, mining is not selling your time, mining is not selling your info, whatever they could say, but deal with it, they're all almost the same, some want to pay it with whatever resource they have, either it's computer power, info, time, opm, opr, opt etc, is it free?
So you pretty much agreed that earning crypto isn't free lol.

I think the only free one is proof of stake, because it take nothing to doubling something.
You can probably say that it's "free", but the thing with PoS is, you need money to make money. There are some security concerns with it too. You have funds on a device that's pretty much online 24/7.
12085  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the timeline for daily usage of bitcoin? on: June 01, 2019, 10:35:48 AM
There seems very little news.
That's because they're probably focused on actually building software, rather than unnecessarily hyping things up like most projects do.

Anyway, you can follow Lightning Labs[1] and other lightning wallets on Twitter if you want to be updated.

12086  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: These will be the best months of your crypto career late comers on: June 01, 2019, 09:59:40 AM
No way I'm gonna spend any money in crypto.
It is free btw if you're buying it then you're doing it all wrong.
If you think joining airdrops or bounties are "free", they're not. You pay the former with your personal information, and you pay the latter with your time.

only the people who don't know what's going on ended up buying a full bag of them.
Tell that to the people who bought in on the earlier years of bitcoin; or anyone who bought a lot lower than the current price.
12087  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My top 10 bitcoin investment advice on: June 01, 2019, 08:14:18 AM
I agree with all of them apart from the first one.
In my opinion, if someone doesn't know what he does he should better choose to invest in bitcoin rather than diversifying in  many cryptocurrencies that they don't understand their technology.

Because proper diversification isn't throwing money to shitcoins. Proper diversification is putting money on other non-crypto assets and businesses instead. Putting money on other cryptocurrencies with higher chances of failure is actually making your portfolio worse.
12088  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anticipating a spike on: June 01, 2019, 02:47:35 AM
if we set the selling price at $ 9k and buy it at $ 8k3, and then redo that cycle. we will be rich soon Cheesy

Think about how unrealistic this is. What are the chances that you actually call the exact top and the exact bottom of $9,000 and $8,300? It might just be easy for you to see the top and bottom simply because it already has happened.
12089  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is margin trading worth checking out? on: May 31, 2019, 04:59:54 PM
Ah. Margin trading. There's a reason why even some trading experts suggest against using margin trading. While it can earn you money, it can also mess you up. It might be able to work out for you, IF you actually try to learn and not just full on gamble with your money, and IF you know how to control your risk. Those are 2 huge IFs.

I'm not trying to move you away from trying, but you might want to read this recent Reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/bv1kj7/i_lost_everything/
12090  Economy / Speculation / Re: Billionaire wants to buy 25% of the bitcoin supply on: May 31, 2019, 04:51:51 PM
I've always thought that the vulnerability of Bitcoin was in the accumulation of large long term holdings, rather than 51% attacks. If the bankers held massive quantities of Bitcoin, they could maintain the extreme volatility of the market, and make it unusable as a currency.

Good point. Though I'm not sure, do you think that there's a good chance that bankers would hugely accumulate a hugely speculative and very experimental asset, that's not even guaranteed to succeed in the long term? Personally, I don't think so, but there sure is a small chance; especially now that bitcoin is continuing to gain reputation.
12091  Other / Meta / Re: [UNBAN APPEAL] Legendary Bitcointalk Memember on: May 31, 2019, 04:45:25 PM
Oh dang Sad as I said it was the early days of being a member so I was still getting used to the Forum, is there any chance on rectifying the situation or has the enthusiasm run out for Nthused permanently ?

I first thought you might have a chance due to your account being very old and it having a decent rank, but after checking your post history? I don't think you have a chance. The admins gives chances to users who have actually decently contributed to Bitcointalk, which I think you don't.

And to add to that, this:

Such a waste of an account.
12092  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is BNB the ETH of 2017? on: May 31, 2019, 03:28:29 PM
ETH has become the ICO coin, and unfortunately this has also brought a bad side, and now we have tokens popping around everywhere and ICOs are dying ...

The thing though is, I think the ICO functionality of ETH is actually decent. It's just that people are taking advantage of the hype and make scammy ICOs solely to make money. Because of that, are we really going to blame the Ethereum platform for that? It's mostly the people, the gullible "investors"  faults that these scammy ICOs earned money in the first place.
12093  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Still have coins on BITBLENDER, you only have a FEW HOURS TO WITHDRAW! LAST CALL on: May 31, 2019, 03:18:16 PM

But they could just open it back up for a few days and only allow withdrawals, right? Opening up just for a few hours would definitely mess some people up. I don't know though, the owner is probably rightfully paranoid.
I think one could argue that this is just scummy behaviour. Bitblender has been online for years, you really think a couple days will make a difference?
He's storing god knows how many user funds on his website, why is everyone so hellbent to give him a pass regarding this?

I mean, being online for a few more days is definitely a lot better than only an additional few hours, so.. I'd take the few more days. Also, I don't think it's just that people are "giving him a pass". Not saying that his intentions aren't to run away with the money, but there's also just that good probability that the dude is just trying to bail asap to not be potentially prosecuted or something. But then again, I have no idea. We can really only speculate for now.
12094  Economy / Speculation / Re: Billionaire wants to buy 25% of the bitcoin supply on: May 31, 2019, 04:10:24 AM
I know these dudes are definitely rich, that saying "rich" even undermines how much wealth they actually have, but I don't think they can even buy 25% of the total supply. Even if they buy it all through OTC through multiple entities, it's going to pump up the price too high I think. Correct me if I'm wrong.
12095  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin about to go really high on: May 31, 2019, 03:04:34 AM
Not saying that this is impossible, but you're just giving people false hopes. Prices rises like this are definitely NOT guaranteed whatsoever.

"past performance doesn't indicate future returns."
12096  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Still have coins on BITBLENDER, you only have a FEW HOURS TO WITHDRAW! LAST CALL on: May 31, 2019, 02:51:18 AM
This could be the reason

It's only 3 days ago Bitblender announced about the close, maybe there are some other cases as like the mentioned link.
One of their competitors just got shutdown by several government agencies... that’s no joke.

But they could just open it back up for a few days and only allow withdrawals, right? Opening up just for a few hours would definitely mess some people up. I don't know though, the owner is probably rightfully paranoid.
12097  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins in hands of whales - should be worried? on: May 31, 2019, 02:29:41 AM
It's true that some movement can be caused, but I really think people are overreacting when it comes to the power of 'whales'. For instance, the op is talking about 450k BTC. While it seems to be a lot, it's only 2.5% of the current total supply.

It's actually indeed a lot. May not be that much when comparing it to the total supply of bitcoin(though 2.5% is still big), we're talking about the markets here. Exchanges. Not 100% of existing bitcoins are being traded, so there won't be enough liquidity for a 450k BTC dump to not crash the markets.
12098  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what is behind BITCOIN Cash SV Pumping on: May 30, 2019, 04:36:04 PM
Many rumors related to BSV and the Chinese market are receiving this information very well and making the value of BSV today higher than $200. I think this price pump is really terrible because the value of BSV only stopped at 90 $ in 2 days ago and it only takes 2 days for the value of BSV to reach more than 200%. This is very unlikely in the crypto market and this can be considered a price increase that many people regret most when this coin is delist at Binance.

I'm not sure if I'm going to bite to this rumor. The rumor is that people on the BSV side is spreading false information to the Chinese, but Upbit was leading the pump days ago with the BSV/KRW trading pair; which is a Korean exchange. I'm not sure though.
12099  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins in hands of whales - should be worried? on: May 30, 2019, 04:22:11 PM
If whales have this amount of BTC then they can control the market. If they wanted to dump every BTC they have, then surely the market will go down right away. We must hope they won`t do any unpleasant thing that will get the market hopeless.

If a certain whale is planning on selling his/her BTC stack, it would be very foolish to dump it all in one go, especially on one single exchange. There simply wouldn't be enough liquidity, and just after dumping on a decent number of buy offers, suddenly the bitcoins are being sold at half the price. The whale can simply sell slowly, in certain increments, to affect the market as less as possible.
12100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is BNB the ETH of 2017? on: May 30, 2019, 04:01:42 PM
While both can be used for fundraising, they still have significant differences. Fundraising on Ethereum is more decentralized, while fundraising on the Binance platform is no doubt purely centralized. I'm pretty sure some people still prefer the former than the latter.

Along with that, take note that ICOs isn't the only thing that Ethereum is trying to do.
