Have you ever heard about Marek's disease (chicken)? And the history of vaccination against it? Vaccination has led to the emergence of stronger strains and now, without vaccination, birds are guaranteed to die (before vaccination, nothing like this happened). Please look for information about this and tell me your opinion (I will not give you links as I read about it in my native language).
As for India, I am sure that by the end of the year, despite this super terrible and super lethal strain and weak medicine in the country, we will not see any 7% of deaths (which were mentioned above) even close.

By the way, as a supporter of world vaccination, you must have heard that many countries do not accept each other's vaccines? For example, in mine, all vaccines are prohibited except for our local ones (which are shit).
I will start with the fact that countries not accepting each other vaccination. This is partially true and politically motivated. France (mainly) hates Russia and China so they were blocking the introduction of these vaccine in Europe. I will not deny that Russia didn't show the whole study to proof the efficiency of its vaccine but this was not the case for Chinese ones. They even attacked directly European countries that imported Russian/Chinese vaccines. Chinese one was accepted by WHO BTW..
To answer the first statement with an example as you did but applicable for human, how much vaccine we have until now for infectious diseases? It depends from countries for sure but many have dozen obligatory vaccines. Did you hear about smallpox? Polio?...etc
The virus mutate naturally so it is normal to find it mutating in vaccinated people and will continue to mutate until we stop its wide spread. If we can blame something for vaccination is the fact that contributed to the huge rise of World population and the shift of classic death from infectious diseases to cardiovascular ones. BTW KTChampions, I am not talking like that as an ordinary person but as someone who has enough experience in this field Smiley

Sure. Of course I have heard about these diseases and vaccines for them. But since you speak as a person who understands the issue, then do you really not see the difference? Those vaccines are strong and practically guarantee complete protection against the disease, and all covid vaccines are weak - they guarantee absolutely nothing. And this is the main problem with weak vaccines - they create the basis for new mutations because they do not completely kill the disease and its spread.
12102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anything like excess gambling on: July 26, 2021, 10:12:51 AM
Spending anything above 10 - 20% of your salary in gambling is suicide already, what more of 70%. Even 10% is more than enough imo. Even if we take into consideration that your salary is low, all the more reason why 10% should be the maximum amount you would use. That's your salary man, it's your main budget to living. If it was beer money, even if it was all I wouldn't complain, it's called beer money for a reason. Alot a budget that wouldn't hurt your current state of living as well as leaving space for improvements.

Yes, spending 10-20 percent looks terrible. If the income is small, then this greatly affects consumption and the quality of life, and if it is large, then it turns out that if this 10-20 percent is redirected, for example, to the payment of a mortgage on a house, then in 15-20 years you can become the owner of an additional house. This is a good present for yourself, even better than winning at the casino.
12103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The houses always win, are you the house or the gambler? on: July 26, 2021, 10:07:50 AM

In crypto
The house is: miner, dev, whale holder.
The gambler is: wageslave trader, wageslave investor, wageslave plebs, all of you suicidal wageslave high risk high reward taker.
~

Miners do not get their equipment and electricity from a magic chest as a gift, but buy it on the market. And if you are interested in this topic, then the payback of the equipment is never guaranteed, so the miners do not exactly belong to the house. Perhaps this category includes manufacturers of mining equipment who first take your money and after a year supply it to you. But as history shows, they also have problems and sometimes they are on the verge of bankruptcy.
12104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taxes on gambling send the right message? on: July 26, 2021, 10:02:04 AM
Unfortunately, so far the process is going in the wrong direction. I remember seeing a chart showing the share of the government (US) in the spending of the entire country, and this share has been steadily increasing throughout the history of observations. If I'm not mistaken, it has long exceeded 50%. This is an unhealthy situation and a large imbalance that clearly does not work in favor of ordinary people.

Big spending from the government has now become the norm, because the voters prefer such policies. In the United States, the Republican Party was known as the fiscally conservative force. But during the reign of George W Bush (2000-2008), and then again during the term of Donald Trump (2016-2020), the federal debt increased by record amounts. The same is the case with some of the other countries such as India. The parties in power are those termed as "fiscally conservative", but even they are indulging in big spending as a result of the changed attitude from the voters.

During a pandemic, this has become a common place for absolutely all countries. It is scary to imagine what will happen when these contradictions accumulate to the point where they can no longer be dampened by the printing of the next portion of fiat money. There will be a big crash, but in theory all deflationary assets should perform well.

But now they have lower rates of illness and death, despite the fact that there are practically no restrictions and there is no compulsion to vaccinate.
Mass vaccination, as you suggest, is really a joke. It will never be real given the fact that many will never agree to it for reasons of principle.

By the way, there is a theory that if a vaccine kills the original virus, then it contributes to the emergence of new, heavier strains, as it opens the way for them.
Coronavirus: Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf says coronavirus approach 'has failed'
Sweden’s failed COVID strategy leaves the country deeply divided
It all depends on how strong a country medical structure is, in terms of hospitals, oxygen beds...etc
If you switch Sweden by any other country with weak healthcare system, the result will be more disastrous and we all saw how catastrophic the situation was in India although they taken several restrictions measures...
I agree that being vaccinated doesn't mean there will be no more mutation, that's why I insist that a massive vaccination is the only solution to stop this shit. Otherwise it will be a 6 - 12 months vaccination for years...
BTW vaccine doesn't kill the virus, our strengthen immune system does.

12106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr - August 21 on: July 26, 2021, 09:39:34 AM
Hopefully Pacquiao can stop in time and this pursuit of money ends on a high note. It would be a shame if he went into battle until the very end and was regularly beaten by rivals and ended his career like the legendary Roy Jones Jr. - many vague fights and defeats. The body has grown old, it's time to go to another business.

Maybe we will tell that to him if he loses in this fight, as of now, he is still capable of winning and had proved that in his last fight. Pacquiao admitted that Thurman was a heavy puncher, but he was able to survive that hit, so it's possible he can also survive in this fight because Thurman and Spence are at par when it comes to skills and power.

Truman was shocked to receive a knockdown in the first round, which significantly influenced the course of the entire fight, giving Pacquiao a huge advantage. If nothing like this happens in the first rounds with Spence, I am sure that Spence, thanks to his youth and strength, will dominate the second half of the fight.
12107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: July 26, 2021, 09:31:25 AM
If I'm not mistaken, the last meeting of the senior teams of Germany and Saudi Arabia at the World Championship ended with a score of 11-0  Cheesy so this result can really be considered unexpected.
As for the Japanese team, this minimal victory is quite normal - the adult team of Japan is strong enough and has some winning traditions (Asian Cup).

LOL.. 11-0? That's brutal. I know that during the 2002 FIFA World Cup, Germany managed to defeat Saudi Arabia 8-0. In two decades a lot of positive changes have occurred in Saudi Arabian football. The Saudi Professional League now features top players from Asia, as well as around the world, and this has improved the overall quality. But then, you can't directly compare Asian teams with those from either Europe or Latin America. It will take many decades before these teams are able to reach that level.

Oh, yee you right! It was 8-0, i don't know why I thought about 11-0, but the difference is really small. The average level of teams is growing all over the world, this is so, this is especially evident on the national teams of small European countries - due to the fact that the players grow up in a European environment, they very quickly raise their level and even teams like Iceland begin to become strong rivals.
12108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr - August 21 on: July 25, 2021, 09:18:37 PM
He is definitely after for the money, though the guaranteed paycheck is only $5 million as reported, they can make a big revenue on the pay per view which would give both fighters a decent share as well. Though there's no figure yet as we will only know it after the fight, but I'm sure they'll make money as this fight is probably the biggest fight this year.

Hopefully Pacquiao can stop in time and this pursuit of money ends on a high note. It would be a shame if he went into battle until the very end and was regularly beaten by rivals and ended his career like the legendary Roy Jones Jr. - many vague fights and defeats. germany 3 - 2 saudi arabia ( I was surprised by so many goals that germany suffered )

japan 2 - 1 mexico (I was surprised with mexico's defeat)

south korea 4 - 1 romania (no surprise)

To be honest, I don't really trust all these findings, and strange that their sharp surge began after vaccines were invented and began to be widely used. In the first year of the pandemic, nothing like this was observed. This prompts certain thoughts. At the moment, the newest strain is very actively infecting vaccinated people, I do not really understand the meaning of vaccination in this case.
I am looking forward to the development of events with interest, but it seems to me that humanity will have to return to the Swedish model (early) and just survive covid like the flu.
Wrong. The Swedish model is a big failure, the death rate is 3x World's mean and even politicians there admitted their mistake.
Herd immunity alone is a joke and will never be achievable with this virus since every damn mutation might infect people again and again. I know many people who was contaminated twice and thrice and yes symptoms aren't mild in all cases.
To resolve this problem once for all, ALL countries have to achieve +90% vaccination coverage in few weeks. Like that the risk of having a new mutant will be very low and we can get ride of it. Otherwise we will keep living with +50% "features" locked!
BTW Poland made a clever way to encourage people getting the shots, other countries are giving money...

But now they have lower rates of illness and death, despite the fact that there are practically no restrictions and there is no compulsion to vaccinate.

But as we know from European countries, the statistics were distorted not only towards a decrease in deaths from covid, but also towards an increase - when death for any reason (but with an accompanying covid) was recorded as death from covid.
I strongly doubt that we can make any adequate estimates based on official data from corrupt government organizations.
I think we should wait for more or less objective factors that are almost impossible to distort - for example, excess mortality. If this strain is so terrible (I don't believe it) then we should see a major jump in this figure.

P.S. By the way, this morning I read on Twitter that it seems that a new strain has already been identified that is even more infectious and deadly. This series will never end  Grin
It is strange that the releases of the new episodes of this series coincide with the massive demonstrations against lockdowns that have covered many countries now  Roll Eyes

New strains are being reported from all over the world. Even the Delta strain in India has mutated into an even more contagious strain called Delta plus. Right now the focus is on this strain, because it is causing a lot of damage to countries such as Indonesia and Thailand. Even the UK has reported a spike in number of new infections, due to this particular strain. Dozens of strains have been identified till now, and one other strain that has been studied widely is the Colombian strain (B.1.621), that has spread to other countries.

To be honest, I don't really trust all these findings, and strange that their sharp surge began after vaccines were invented and began to be widely used. What's the point in these numbers without specifying what percentage of income they are? In some countries, $ 500 is a monthly salary, and in some it is just a week's salary. The standard of living is too different, therefore, it is more correct to indicate the percentage of income, so it is immediately clear how much a person loves gambling.

Yes, thanks for pointing this out.  I would rephrase my question as "what percentage of your income do you allocate to gambling or betting" ?

Also another question arises here that whether the people who have higher standard of living are more involved in gambling ?

Speaking for myself, this is no more than 5% of the total income per month. Considering that I am not a very active gambler, I do not spend this amount every month, sometimes I don’t play for several months in a row. And I noticed that this percentage is roughly the balance point that is often mentioned in this topic.

Just a general question regarding the betting budget. How much budget do you allocate or afford to risk in betting ?  100$, 500$, 1000$ or maybe even more ?  Also if you are rich you can afford to play with more money as compare to the person who is living hand to mouth.

China has taken a good start - 75% of the medals are gold. Given the fact that 339 sets of medals will be played, it is too early to talk about any leadership, we must wait until at least a third of the medals have been played.

It's still too early, I have not seen the USA on the list yet but I think they'll catch up in the medal tally competition although it's possible that China will bag the biggest number of medals in this Olympics. I'm following the event already as I have subscribed to our local cable provider and I will not anymore miss a single action of my favorite games.

Quote
Interestingly enough, the number of medals to be played has increased by almost 10% compared to the previous Olympiad.
What does it mean? Are there sports or games added?

Given the fact that for China this is part of an ideological competition in which they are trying their best to win, it seems to me that China's chances are higher.

As for the medals, in comparison with the previous Olympiad, several sports have been added - karate, rock climbing, surfing, skateboarding and something else plus some kind of sports discipline.

During this period, the city witnessed 25,699 fresh Covid-19 cases and 1,797 deaths.

I think this is another example of a statistics curve. There are more than 8 million inhabitants in Bangalore, and only 25 thousand are infected by the "terribly contagious disease"?  Roll Eyes
I think that only one conclusion can be drawn from this data: very few tests are done there and only almost fatal cases of infection are recorded. If we take into account all those who are easily tolerated or asymptomatic, then this terrible 7 percent will turn into tenths of a percent, as in all other countries.

Can't fully agree with your statement. Obviously some infections were not reported, but there was an under-count with the deaths as well. The real death toll in India from the second wave (April-May 2021) was somewhere around 4-5 million. But the officials reported it at around 1/20th of that number.

There were 4.9 million excess deaths during this period:
https://www.indiatoday.in/coronavirus-outbreak/story/2nd-covid-wave-was-india-worst-tragedy-since-partition-saw-up-to-49-lakh-excess-deaths-1830894-2021-07-21

So it may not be 7%, but 3% or 4%. Still I don't believe that it may be 0.1% or 0.2% as you claim. And Delhi was the worst affected city during the second wave (not Bangalore, where the majority of the case were not from Delta). Almost every family I know in Delhi lost at least one member during this period. Many of them were in their 30s or 40s and didn't had any comorbidity.

Some sportsbooks even allow you to cash out your bet during the fight, that's a good added feature as you are like treating your gambling activity as trading. Pacquiao's training is more public than Spence, so we only have an idea bout Pacquiao's condition than of Spence, and probably that's the reason for the odds swing in this fight.

This opportunity is provided by almost all top bookmakers now. The only question is its usefulness, usually the amount you can return is much less than what you can get if you wait for the outcome with the current result. I understand the mathematical background of this and I understand that bookmakers cannot give out money for free, but in my opinion such options are very unprofitable.
12119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your betting budget on: July 25, 2021, 09:04:58 AM
I can assume that a gambler who regularly violates his budget allocated for the game will not be able to enjoy this hobby for a long time, since he will very quickly lose all the money  Grin And after that, he will have other problems - to get rid of gambling addiction and engage in earning money to improve his financial situation.

How many gambler try to stick with their regular budget on gambling even if they see others earn more from investing more than their regular budget. Here where they fall in to invest more than what they regular do. This becomes an addiction when they see a profit few times from the extra investment. Self control can only cure oneself from addiction.

Usually, in most cases, additional investments in gambling only lead to additional losses. But you are right that those gamblers who are "lucky" to win by making an unnecessary spend become addicted and in the future they try to repeat this move, but only lose extra money. This is that paradoxical case when luck plays against a gambler, it is much more profitable to lose and immediately understand your mistakes and not repeat them anymore than to be lucky once and in the future it is futile to hope for luck again and again.
12120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- now at: 21/22 Qualifying Prelims on: July 24, 2021, 07:03:47 PM
Yes, the Super League is now on hiatus, although it has not been disbanded, this is encouraging. Hopefully soon we will find out some news and the process of its creation will go again. I think this is very likely because a lot of money was invested in it and the banks that invested in this project knew what they were doing and they knew that UEFA would resist. So they must have a plan for how to overcome it.

It seems to me that Real, Barcelona and Milan are pushing this Super League project the most for obvious reasons.
All 3 clubs have serious financial problems and urgently need fresh money.
However, the Super League project failed because most of the founding clubs gave up, a bank from america has given up investing in this project  and the public didn't accept this league.
These clubs are lucky that UEFA didn't exclude them from the competition in the Champions League.
In fact, the UEFA proposal to change the competition system in the Champions League is very close to the concept of the Super League and it is unfortunate.

It seems that you do not understand the fundamental difference between the Super League and the Champions League from UEFA - this is not the format of the competition, but the question of who distributes the money from the league's earnings. In the case of the Super League, clubs make money and the clubs distribute it; in the case of the UEFA Champions League, clubs make money and bastard officials distribute it. This antagonism will never be resolved until the extra link is thrown out of the business - the corrupt UEFA officials.
